Restauro Vespa Rally 180 e (motore) SS 180 - post 7</title><content type="html">E siamo arrivati (quasi) alla fine del montaggio del motore...per primo la ricostruzione dello statore con le bobine originali. I cavi avevano l'isolante in plastica ormai a pezzi e allora ho provveduto a giuntare code di fili colorati per ripristinare le cose. La vite del condensatore e del pattino della camma dell'albero motore era stata sostituita con una volgare vite parker, rovinando di fatto la filettatura. Ho quindi forato a 3,5 mm. e rifilettato a 4 per adattare una vite simile a taglio e testa tonda.&lt;br /&gt;

Bisogna dire che in mezzo a tanto genio meccanico, pure la Piaggio ha fatto le sue brave cadute di stile. Il sistema della camma indipendente magari permette com'e' vero di regolare perfettamente le puntine senza doverlo fare attraverso una finestrella angusta però poi montare il volano diventa una faccenda abbastanza laboriosa. Conviene smontare il piattello dal volano e montarlo da solo sull'albero motore, togliendo però anche seeger e quindi rondellona parker e dado flangiato per prendere perfettamente e senza errori la chiavetta di posizionamento. Senza fare quest'ultima operazione è decisamente molto difficile prenderci, soprattutto perchè se provate a stringere il dado flangiato direttamente dal piattelo con così poca parte della chiavetta inserita nella tacca, esso comincerà a trascinarsi dietro l'albero. Una volta montato correttamente il piattello montarci sopra il volano con ventola, facendo attenzione a fare combaciare i fori dei 6 bulloni del 13 e relative rondelle dentate. Meno male che poi questo sistema arzigogolato nelle Vespe con motore 'a cilindro grosso' è stato abbandonato in favore di una classica ventola in fusione unica...&lt;br /&gt;

Insomma, alla fine del motore del 180 Rally preso sul web c'era solo il gruppo termico, l'albero motore (forse) e i carter...quindi si passa al pistone e al gruppo termico...&lt;br /&gt;

In questo numero si parla estensivamente di quella che io considero la 'Vespa dell'Operaio', ovvero la VBA, seguita dalla VBB1 e 2 e dalla versione 125, la VNA1. Sicuramente la Vespa più comune della produzione Piaggio dopo il PX. Il fascicolo è ben strutturato e sviscera in modo esaustivo l'argomento con diagrammi, foto di Vespe conservate e restaurate e documenti dell'epoca. Poster centrale con la VBB della copertina. Tutti abbiamo avuto a che fare prima o poi con una Vespa come questa, io da adolescente ne trovai due senza targhe e documenti dal rottamaio che frequentavo. Che impressione mi faceva poter acquistare una Vespa tutta per me, che in quel momento avevo solo una bicicletta! E per comprarne una mi chiesero 50 mila lire, l'equivalente di 26 € di oggi! Purtroppo mio padre che aveva i cordoni della borsa e che giudicava qualsiasi spesa strana inutile, disse di no e le due povere VBB rimasero tristemente abbandonate dal rottamaio...non so che fine hanno fatto, un giorno sparirono per sempre. Restauro Vespa Rally 180 e (motore) SS 180 - post 5</title><content type="html">Prosegue il rimontaggio del motore del Rally 180, con il rimontaggio dell'ingranaggio parastrappi, l'asse marce con ingranaggi cambio e albero selettore cambio provenienti anche queste dall'altro motore perchè anche queste parti erano da PX e non da Rally 180 (e così si è capito perchè il motore costava meno della media dei motori Rally 180 presenti sul mercato...) e ovviamente la crocera nuova.&lt;br /&gt;

Quindi l'albero motore, che ha avuto anche bisogno di una sistematina alla filettatura della frizione, che si vede era stata tralasciata dalla rettifica...con già montato l'anello d'acciaio del cuscinetto a rulli del volano.&lt;br /&gt;

Ho quindi dedicato del tempo al rimontaggio del silent-block dell'attacco inferiore dell'ammortizzatore che era totalmente distrutto, riutilizzando ovviamente il clindretto originale, con un semplice sistema di bulloni e rondelle con asta filettata e distanziali,,,&lt;br /&gt;

Questa Vespa che ha i documenti e attualmente è radiata d'ufficio è stata recuperata da un meccanico della zona all'incredibile cifra di....850 €! E poi dicono che non capitano più i colpi di fortuna! Però purtroppo nonostante la carrozzeria fosse priva di danni rilevanti o di ruggine, alcune parti erano state rimaneggiate nel tempo come la sella che all'atto dell'acquisto era da PX con orrendi fori praticati sul serbatoio, il contachilometri originale che era stato sostituito da un'altro da VNB, il commutatore originale a 4 posizioni eliminato per fare posto ad un contatto a chiave FIAT da camion. Per il resto però la Vespa era integra e non è stato difficile riportarla ai fasti di un tempo, anche se per il contachilometri il proprietario ha scelto una soluzione 'economica' dati i prezzi attuali dei ricambi originali. Un giorno che capiterà una occasione come è stato per l'acquisto della Vespa, provvederà alla sostituzione...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
La verniciatura è a lucido diretto ed è stata curata dal proprietario della Vespa.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Il portaruota (non centrale) sarà aggiunto in seguito, quando ne troviamo uno dell'epoca adatto a questa Vespa.&lt;br /&gt;

Ho proseguito con l'inserimento dei cuscinetti (e dei paraoli) nel carter sinistro e destro. Notare i segni concentrici causati dall'ingranaggio del parastrappi/primaria all'interno del carter sinistro. Grazie al fatto che ho praticamente un motore di scorta, ho sostituito la flangia a vite del mozzo con l'altra disponibile che era messa molto meglio di quella presente sul motore originale!&lt;br /&gt;

Il seeger ferma cuscinetto lato frizione era troppo largo per le normali pinze da seeger che avevo e allora ho usato un escamotage semplice quanto efficace per rimontarlo...&lt;br /&gt;

Poi mi sono imbattuto in due problemi, il primo più grave è stato dover sostituire il pignone a 22 denti della primaria con quello dell'altro motore dato che era ridotto come si vede in foto...&lt;br /&gt;

Poi lo stesso pacco frizione era stato sostituito con uno da PX200 a 7 molle, mentre il numero basso del motore imponeva una frizione a 6 molle particolare per questo modello di Vespa, con bicchierini a sede ovale e molle maggiorate. Alcuni pezzi li ho recuperati sempre dalla frizione del motore di scorta che per fortuna era coerente col motore che sto rifacendo, senonchè non c'era più il piattello d'acciaio portaboccolo di bronzo che era stato scartato al ricevimento dei pezzi perchè crepato sull'imbocco d'acciaio e quindi inutilizzabile.&lt;br /&gt;
Al solito mi è venuto in soccorso Angelo Bulgarelli che mi ha fornito un piattello NOS originale (con tanto di marchio Piaggio serigrafato)&lt;br /&gt;

A destra il piattello 'sbagliato' per le 7 molle.&lt;br /&gt;
Così è stato possibile rimontare la frizione correttamente e nel contempo ricostruire il parastrappi che immancabilmente aveva alcune molle rotte, cosa del tutto nella norma...a destra quello di 'scorta'...&lt;br /&gt;

Restauro Vespa Rally 180 e (motore) SS 180 - post 3</title><content type="html">Ed ecco anche riportato a casa il lavoro a gruppi termici e alberi motore da parte della RAMI di Reggio Emilia, impeccabile come sempre. Pistone del gruppo SS180 della Dynamin e pistone del gruppo Rally 180 della Meteor, è stato impossibile (per la SS180 era quasi scontato) reperire due pistoni originali Asso ma si tratta sempre di due pistoni di ottima fattura e qualità. Le due bielle invece sono della Mazzucchelli, comprensivo ovviamente del lavoro del cambio delle gabbie a rulli del piede di biella e la sabbiatura di cilindri e testa.&lt;br /&gt;

E'rimasta un pò di cricca qua e là, ma ciò verrà asportato manualmente. Questo è anche giusto perchè indica che la micropallinazione professionale è un trattamento 'gentile' che non pregiudica la superfice dei metalli...&lt;br /&gt;

Restauro Vespa Rally 180 e (motore) SS 180 - primo post</title><content type="html">Nuovi ingressi al Vespagarage, da un appassionato Vespista del Riminese ecco un restauro di Rally 180 colore giallo cromo e&amp;nbsp; il motore di una SS 180! Una bella accoppiata, non c'e' che dire. Su questo blog ne presenterò quindi il restauro passo-passo, anche se devo dire che la Rally 180 è già stata semi-assemblata dopo la verniciatura da &lt;a href="http://www.tuningart.net/" target="_blank"&gt;Simone della Tuning Art&lt;/a&gt; e quindi il lavoro può essere attribuito ad entrambi!&lt;br /&gt;

I carter dei due motori sono già stati ripuliti e mandati a micropallinare (a granuli di ferro) per ridare estetica all'esterno dei motori, che comunque si presentano in buono stato, soprattutto quello della SS 180&lt;br /&gt;

Certo...i problemini non mancano, questo è il selettore della SS 180 che chissà quando ha incontrato violentemente l'asfalto e anche il motore della Rally 180 ha bisogno di cure approfondite, come la sostituzione di tutti i silent-block...per fortuna la valvola è in buone condizioni di usura e non ci sono rotture del carter ne su questo ne sull'altro motore&lt;br /&gt;

Rispetto al numero precedente mi sembra che il livello di argomenti (e modelli) sia decisamente più approfondito, infatti l'excursus varia tra la capostipite GS150 VS1 a cavi esterni sino alle GS160 1a e 2a serie. Le foto mi sembrano molte e ben particolareggiate e così anche le note all'interno del fascicolo. Stavolta si tratta di un tuning compiuto su una Vespa GTR del 1969, motorizzata con motore PX125 a puntine (quindi una buonissima base su cui lavorare) con Polini 177, lavori solo ai travasi sul carter, albero anticipato Mazucchelli, accensione Parmakit con volano da 1,9 Kg, carburatore classico SI 24/24 ricarburato, frizione Malossi con molle rinforzate e anello di rinforzo sulla campana originale, primaria da PX 200 23/65, marmitta (perora) standard da PX. La leva di accensione è una leva della SIP speciale per motori PX su large anni '60-'70&lt;br /&gt;

Altre modifiche inserite sono state l'adozione di una forcella da PX Arcobaleno con mozzo 20 mm. e freno a disco Grimeca, opportunamente modificato e adattato dal preparatore Omer &lt;a href="http://www.mondo-vespa.com/2011/05/kits-freno-disco-per-vespa-e-ape.html" target="_blank"&gt;che già costruisce kit freno a disco per Vespa&lt;/a&gt;, con il suo originale attacco a tubo parallelo per la pompa freno al manubrio. Il parafango anteriore è un Nonfango dell'epoca in plastica tagliato posteriormente stile T5, corredato dei fregi del parafango originale. Altra tunizzazione è stata l'adozione di &lt;a href="http://www.sip-scootershop.com/IT/products/ammortizzatore+sip+performance+_72000fbb" target="_blank"&gt;due ammortizzatori SIP Racing by Carbone&lt;/a&gt;, invece dei soliti canonici Bitubo perchè era richiesta una impostazione molto sportiva (rigida) della Vespa e questi ammortizzatori di ottima qualità realizzati al CNC a olio rispondono perfettamente alla richiesta, pur non implicando sistemi di ammortizzatore a gas che in un arco di tempo non lunghissimo sono suscettibili di dover essere totalmente revisionati. Ovviamente avendo un impianto da 12V, è stato modificato tutto il circuito elettrico, sostituito l'interruttore dello stop con uno da GS160 normalmente chiuso, &lt;a href="http://www.mondo-vespa.com/2011/11/installare-un-fanale-alogeno-da-px-my.html" target="_blank"&gt;adottato un fanale alogeno TRIOM da PX MY&lt;/a&gt; e &lt;a href="http://www.mondo-vespa.com/2011/11/installare-contachilometri-digitale.html" target="_blank"&gt;un contachilometri digitale della KOSO by SIP&lt;/a&gt; (argomenti già trattati qualche post fa)&lt;br /&gt;

La segnalo unicamente per la presenza di un articolo che parla del nostro caro amico Ilario Lavarra che sta per tornare in Italia dopo aver percorso sulla sua 'Corazzata' ovvero una Vespa Sprint Veloce motorizzata P200E oltre 80.000 Km in un anno e mezzo di tempo. Ci sono altri esempi di viaggio nel fascicolo come il viaggio sulla Route 66 fatto l'anno scorso da due appassionati a bordo di un Vespino 50 e di cui avevo già parlato &lt;a href="http://www.mondo-vespa.com/2010/11/cosa-ce-di-nuovo-nel-nuovo-px-ela-lml.html" target="_blank"&gt;nel post sull'EICMA 2010&lt;/a&gt;. Il primo stand visitato è ovviamente quello della Piaggio...e per accontentare un vecchio amico eccomi alle prese con la intervistatrice Piaggio che mi fa delle domande sul nuovo concept Vespa Quarantasei...il mio modesto contributo! Ma li spenderebbe lei 12.000 € per comprarla? Magari ci fossi dentro anche tu nel pacchetto, chissà...ahahahahah &lt;br /&gt;

L'unica novità nel riguardo del nuovo PX 2011 è una nuova colorazione, molto simile al vecchio blu spazio degli anni '80...la Piaggio poteva sforzarsi un pò di più, ma d'altronde con i numeri a loro favore (hanno realizzato 4000 esemplari in più del capitolato, esaurendo anche i ricambi destinati alle Vespe prodotte! Cosa che comunque fa piacere) non erano di certo molto pungolati.&lt;br /&gt;

In un piccolo stand a fianco di quello di Lorenzo e Miriam, una piccola curiosità, lo sbarco in Italia di &lt;a href="http://www.clm.es/" target="_blank"&gt;una versione industriale del più diffuso antifurto spagnolo&lt;/a&gt;, ovvero il catenone che lega un mezzo (chiaramente in questo caso una Vespa PX) ad un palo, bloccando il chiavistello della catena ad un robustissimo piolo a scatto inserito a pressione all'interno del tubo cambio del manubrio!&lt;br /&gt;

Doverosa visita allo stand delle due Vespe PX150 2011 con motori elaborati da Pinasco che hanno partecipato all'ultimo &lt;a href="http://www.pharaonsrally.com/it/" target="_blank"&gt;Rally dei Faraoni 2011&lt;/a&gt; che sono arrivate buon ultime in classifica generale ma sono arrivate! E nelle prove giornaliere nemmeno mai sempre definitivamente ultime...e consideriamo che i mezzi appena superiori come cilindrata a loro erano dei 450 cc...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;La loro esperienza ha comunque avuto una risonanza tale che dall'anno prossimo è prevista l'apertura di una speciale sezione "scooter" del Rally dei Faraoni, con la creazione di un kit di elaborazione della Vespa PX per poter affrontare alla pari le ostilità del deserto egiziano!&lt;br /&gt;

Immancabile poi la visita al coloratissimo stand della LML, la ormai diretta concorrente della PX della Piaggio, con prezzi al pubblico a partire da 1850 € franco concessionario per la 125 2T, praticamente la metà del reale PX! D'altronde dopo avere sentito che una LML 125 2T Star sbarca in Europa al prezzo di 600 € ad esemplare...capisco la politica aggressiva sui prezzi.&lt;br /&gt;

Ma mentre la Piaggio va di conserva e comunque buon per lei fa i numeri, la LML punta molto sull'ampliamento della gamma, introducendo modelli particolari come questa LML Star Disegual, che mi ricorda molto da vicino alcune Vespe tunizzate molto creativamente in estremo oriente!&lt;br /&gt;

Quello che rende interessante la gamma LML è la varietà. Attorno fondamentalmente alla stessa Vespa, ci sono decine e decine di proposte diverse, come la LML Star sidecar&lt;br /&gt;

LML presentava anche una 'novità', la PK! O meglio...la versione small della LML Star, la LML Star Light. Cilindrate 50 e 125, con una carrozzeria da PK V50 con freno a disco e motore con variatore automatico all made in India, posizionato sulla sinistra (!) del telaio (ruota di scorta ovviamente a destra)...una colorazione si spera diversa da questa presentata, decisamente inguardabile probabilmente pensata per un pubblico di ragazzi under 18 e una strumentazione in stile con le sorelle maggiori, con indicatore di benzina e spie. Prezzo di vendita, 1100 €...il prezzo di un usato da Vespa 'antica'...&lt;br /&gt;

A seguire visita obbligata allo stand Pinasco, sempre molto  frequentato e solite discussioni tecniche con Turbobestia!&lt;br /&gt;

E alla fine, doveroso omaggio dell'EICMA a Marco Simoncelli, con l'esposizione della sua Gilera 250 con cui aveva vinto il mondiale 2008. Ma Marco era un pò dappertutto, nei cartelloni commemorativi della San Carlo fuori nel corridoio centrale della Fiera, attaccato sulle colonne degli stand, il numero 58 un pò dappertutto e sulle felpe dei giovani fans con il loro 'SuperSic' in bella vista...non ti dimenticheremo mai, Marco...&lt;br /&gt;
