Raven Young Naturalist Kit

Take a look at the great deal we are offering on Bill Thompson’s Young Birder’s Guide to Eastern North America Birds. Purchase an Eagle Optics Raven binocular and you can get The Young Birder’s Guide for $5. Even though my kids are grown, I bought Bill’s book a while back. Now I need the 6.5×32 Raven to complete my own naturalist kit to share with anyone who might be interested in birding.

Customer Reviews

Since Eagle Optics launched its monthly contest to write a product review and then be entered to win an Eagle Optics Ranger, we have added a lot of customer reviews to our website. Keep the reviews coming—our knowledgable customers provide great insight to shoppers looking for first-hand experience.

With the arrival of the Eagle Optics Raven binocular, now is a great time to invest in a terrific pair of binoculars that is very affordable. This is one of those sweet little binoculars that you will really like from the beginning and grow to love more with every use.

Comfortable to grasp, the barrels easily adjust to interpupilary distances of 50-70mm. Weighing slightly over 17 ounces and at only 4.5 inches tall, the Raven will be easy to carry along to the game, on a hike, or while sightseeing. Of course the incredibly wide field of view only enhances your ability to follow birds in flight and the edge-to-edge sharpness of the bright images will delight even a seasoned optics user.

The Eagle Optics Raven is bound to become a true favorite for performance and price, just like our Ranger SRT. A binocular meant for all ages, the Raven comes with our Eagle Optics Platinum Protection warranty so it will last for generations.

By now you have probably heard about the Atlas Binocular offered by Eagle Optics, and you may be skeptical about how good the Intrepid ED really is. Like many of you, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Since I handle a number of really good binoculars on a daily basis, my expectations are pretty high. But, the proof is in this binocular’s performance and I will have no problem recommending the Atlas Intrepid ED binoculars.

With a showroom full of binoculars, comparing the Intrepid ED against other binoculars was easy. What I saw was exciting. The Intrepid ED easily matches or out performs other binoculars double its price point as the extra-low dispersion glass in the Atlas delivers bright clarity of the smallest details. The body design offers smooth rubber armoring with comfortable thumb grooves and the increasingly popular open-hinge design.

Just as word spread about the incredible value and performance of the now soldout Special Purchase spotting scope, I have no doubt the Atlas Intrepid ED will earn a similar reputation. Eagle Optics customers tell us they want excellent performance without the excessive price. The Atlas Intrepid ED proves that we listen.

At the time of this post, Eagle Optics has one Nikon Premier SE 10×42 (more commonly known as the Superior E) binocular in stock. This is one of those pieces I wrote about last week that customers often wish they had purchased before it sold out. A customer called this morning about a discontinued binocular and was disappointed to learn it was completely sold out.

Wow! What a deal-

The email feature for June 16th is the Leica Geovid BRF Rangefinder binocular.

I wish I had a dime for every customer who calls Eagle Optics and wishes they had taken advantage of our closeout sales in the past on classics such as the Nikon Superior E binocular or the Fujinon Fieldscope. Now, Eagle Optics is coming to the end of its inventory on the Special Purchase spotting scope—a deal that has driven many customers to the door of our showroom or the checkout page of our website over the last few months. Don’t procrastinate if you want to own a spotting scope and only have $200 to spend. This one is already well recognized as an exceptional value and performer for this price point.

The Kowa TSN 771 and 772 spotting scopes are another example of pieces that will have optics lovers wishing they had acted while this scope was around. Long held in high regard, this Kowa scope is one of those pieces that has always exceeded expectations and makes the Eagle Optics staff say, “That is one sweet scope.” At the current closeout price, you will be bragging about the performance and value for years to come.

Our 30-day return policy means you can buy from Eagle Optics with peace of mind. So don’t tarry—I might have to start collecting those dimes.

Just in time for Father’s Day, the MBS is offering an Early Bird Special. By registering early, you can save $20 off the cost of the full symposium package. Hosted by Bird Watcher’s Digest, The Ohio Ornithological Society, and the Lakeside Association during the weekend of September 17 to 20, organizers are preparing for hundreds of birders to converge in Lakeside, Ohio, on the south shore of Lake Erie

Plan now to send your Dad to this outstanding birding festival. This will be one Father’s Day gift he cannot stick in the closet!

The most relentless professor has been Bogen Manfrotto as they have renumbered tried and true equipment, replaced magnesium fiber legs with carbon fiber legs, and introduced brand new tripod heads and legs. When the Eagle Optics staff heard that our favorite economical, lightweight travel tripod, the 728B Digi Tripod Kit was discontinued, our first question was, “What is taking its place?”

Happily, Bogen Manfrotto did not abandon this class of tripod and recently introduced the 7301YB Tripod with 3-Way Head. Once again our staff can routinely answer a customer’s request for a really great travel tripod that doesn’t cost a fortune.

If only I can remember those new numbers in time for my final exam.

As I fill my calendar with the graduation activities of my high school senior and bird feeding assistant, Patrick, I know my favorite month of the year will fly by faster than usual. The arrival of Baltimore Orioles brought an almost psychedelic frenzy of color to my backyard this weekend—behold the power of grape jelly!

Mother’s Day Visitor

Mother’s Day began with an early morning visit from an Indigo Bunting. I love blue and every time I see a bunting’s iridescent color it feels almost mystical. (Photo courtesy of Mike McDowell). This is the second year in a row that an Indigo Bunting greeted me on Mother’s Day morning. Later in the day, I began my Mother’s Day ritual of extreme gardening. I could barely stand the birds’ chattering as they expressed their disapproval of my decision to garden in the area of the feeders. After moving to another area of the yard, an American Robin happily carrying a beak full of clippings gathered from the flower beds vindicated my presence in the birds’ yard.
