Each day the children will learn about God’s love and how He provides for their lives now and in eternity through Jesus, His Son, our Savior!  Kids meet friends, explore Bible stories, do activities, sing songs, make crafts, play games, and eat snacks. We expect a great response, so enroll your child today!

JESUS TIME
As we begin the last month of preschool we will review what we have learned this year. We will learn about the joy that God gives us through His love for us in Jesus. We thank God for His Joy. We can always have joy through faith in Jesus our Savior.

THEME/CONCEPTS
“Summer Safety” is the theme for the month. We will learn more about bike safety and swimming safety. We will learn a little about stranger safety during our last few days of preschool! We will also review many of the concepts that we have learned throughout the school year.

SPECIAL EVENTS
St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital: Our Trike-A-Thon was a great success. Thanks to your effort and generosity, $1714.00 was raised to help children at St. Jude!

• End of the Year Field Trip: We will be taking our “End of the Year” Field Trip to Cayla’s Power Tumbling and Dance Center on Monday, May 14th and Tuesday, May 15th. Please encourage your child to use the bathroom and wash hands before coming into the classroom. We will enjoy several different activities and will have our snack at Cayla’s Power Tumbling and Dance Center, too.
  We will plan to leave the church at 9:00 A.M.
  PLEASE DRESS YOUR CHILD IN COMFORTABLE CLOTHES! (Short sleeve, loose clothing may be appropriate) NOTE: Every child will need a car seat in order to participate in the field trip. Please be sure to label your child’s car seat with your child’s name. We appreciate your help!
  We will return to preschool in time for your child to be picked up at 11:25 A.M.
  Please remember, this is your child’s special day. If you are planning to volunteer as a field trip driver or are planning to accompany us to Cayla’s, it is IMPORTANT for you to know that you will be asked to help supervise an activity area. Only children currently enrolled at Eagle’s Nest will be permitted at our field trip. Your cooperation helps to insure everyone’s safety.
• Graduation Celebration: We will celebrate the end of the school year with special promotion/graduation celebrations. The promotion/graduation program for the Monday/Wednesday and the Monday/Wednesday/Friday classes will begin at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel on Wednesday, May 16th.
  The promotion/Graduation program for the Tuesday/Thursday classes will begin at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel on Thursday, May 17th.
  Please help find your child’s class and teachers near the front of the chapel, and find a seat for yourself. All of the children will join together to entertain you before the program. Our evening will end with cookies and ice cream in the gym and with Carnival Games from around the U.S.A.
• Parent-Teacher Conferences: Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Monday, May 21st or Tuesday, May 22nd. Parents are invited to meet with their child’s teacher to discuss your child’s progress and/or any concerns.
• 2012-2013 Preschool Registration: If you know of a friend or neighbor that is interested in our preschool program, please ask them to stop by or call the church office at 342-4334 for a registration packet, or print a registration form here.

As I close this final newsletter, please allow me to thank you again for your help and support throughout the preschool year. You have given your time and your talents beyond our expectations in our classrooms and on our field trips. You have told others about Eagle’s Nest and have helped to make our preschool year great.

JESUS TIME
During the month of April we will to continue to learn about the love of Jesus. We will learn of His ultimate love in the Easter story. We will learn that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again so that we might live forever with Him in Heaven. His message was to make certain that everyone knew that He loves all people everywhere. His message continues now, through us. He wants us to tell others of His great love for them.

THEME/CONCEPTS
“Insects” is the theme for the month of April. We will learn about lots of insects, butterflies and spiders and how they grow. Effingham Police 911 will come to talk with our preschool classes about safety and calling 911. The COLOR of the month is PINK, our SHAPE is an OVAL. The 4 and 5 year old classes will learn the LETTERS “W, X, Y and Z” and our NUMBERS are 6 – 10.The 3 year old classes will learn the LETTER “I” and the NUMBER 10.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Easter Parties: Our classes will celebrate the new life we have through Jesus’ death and resurrection with an Easter Party. We will have special Easter activities including an egg hunt. Please check the parent board to see if you signed up to help. You are invited to join us!!

We will begin our Easter Celebration according to the following Party schedule:

TUITION
Please remember, your tuition for the month of May is probably already paid. When you registered your child for preschool, tuition was paid for the month of May. (You made an extra payment at registration.) If you are unsure, please call Jo Rubel at 868-2194.
