Well, I stopped blogging when I found Pinterest. That way is so much easier to show people what I like. And as for writing...I'm writing for myself. Follow me on Pinterest...I'm surfyturtle!

Lovely couples

2012-02-17T16:54:00.000-06:00

Catherine McNiel (long hair) and Ruby Rose (both models) make a lovely couple.

Tasya Van Ree (taller Hawaiian one) and Amber Heard are beautiful. Van Ree is an artist/photographer and Heard is an actress. Man, I think Tasya is almost perfect. She's sooo hot.

Fashion Week Gallery: 50 Lesbian & Bisexual Fashion Models

Posted byintern veronica

on February 16, 2012

Hey, it's fashion week again! Much like Mikey Koffman, I feel like it's always fashion Week. Anyhow, in celebration of this monumental week dedicated to lithe girls walking down runways surrounded by famous people in folding chairs with cameras and cocktails, we thought it'd be fun to take a look at all the "mainstream" models who have been known to sleep with other women! WHY NOT? [Due to the topic of this gallery, it severely lacks diversity, but I suppose you knew that getting into it.]

Do u-haul it?

2012-02-16T01:57:00.000-06:00

Girls, Girls, Girls...they move fast...yet I try to move more slowly.

Shoes and Underwears

2012-02-04T17:58:00.000-06:00

I found these great 'lil booties on big time sale. I already love them and think I'll be wearing them a ton...with jean and dresses.

I always have a hard time finding undies to fit my huge bum and saddlebags. Plus, when I do mma and bjj I don't like undies that ride up...which oftentimes means I wear granny panties to avoid wedgies. Well the Hanes boxer briefs are soo comfy, however they bunch up at toward my thighs and leave lines if worn under anything tight. These Hanes briefs, are great. No ride up...however, I got a size that is too big.

Manly, huh?

Love these.

Dykish?

Do you like?

Queen Latifah...I love you

2012-01-27T00:38:00.001-06:00

I love Queen Latifah. She's lovely. She's good looking. She's tough. She's masculine, yet feminine. She can sing, act, rap and model.
I love her movie roles, from a tough, bank robbing lesbian in Set It Off, to a hopeless romantic living for herself in Last Holiday, to a kind-hearted mother figure in The Secret Life of Bees, to all of her supporting actress roles where she plays sidekicks... and even to her musicals.
From her Motown Records days of U.N.I.T.Y. full of girl power, to her belting out show tunes in Chicago.
Ah...Queeny...or 'Teefah...I'm impressed by YOU.

Syd the Kyd On Odd Future, Her Sexuality And Why She Hates The Word "Lesbian"

By Andrea Domanick Thu., Jan. 12 2012 at 9:04 AM

In this week's cover story, we kick it with Odd Future members Syd the Kyd and Matt Martians, and talk with them about their new duo The Internet, whose album Purple Naked Ladies was recently released digitally. Syd also opens up about her sexuality and what it's like being in a group that uses "faggot" so much. (Tyler employs it over 200 times on Goblin.) Below are excerpts from our conversations that didn't make the story.
On the lack of out-of-the-closet gay urban artists:
Syd: "There's Alicia Keys, who's married to Swizz Beatz - we know that shit ain't real. You got Queen Latifah kissing Common in movies. Missy Elliott saying she don't wanna hang with bitches. You know she loves her some bitches."
On the word "lesbian":
"I hate the word 'lesbian.' Or 'pussy.' Or even like, 'thespian.' They're just awkward words! If you know me you might hear me say the word 'gay,' or something. I'd much rather say gay than lesbian. Not only that, but I don't know if I'd kick it with a group of lesbians anyway."

Matt Martians and Syd the Kyd of The Internet

Star Foreman

On coming out via The Internet's "Cocaine" video:
Syd: "I decided to do it because I wish I had someone like that [an openly gay female artist] while I was coming up. People write on my Tumblr just thanking me for making the video, saying that I really inspire them, and they want to be like me. But I wasn't always this way, this comfortable with myself, and I remember what that was like. So I figure, fuck it. Everyday people aren't given this opportunity and I realize that. And I didn't at first. I thought I was just lucky to be along for the ride."
On getting asked that question:
Syd: "I put myself out there because I'm sick of people asking. I've been asked it so many times. It's annoying, it's like, you can't answer that yourself? And awkward because it's not like they're going up to the other guys in the group and asking if they're straight. Now I don't have to answer that question outright. Because I don't want to. It's not that I'm not proud of who I am."
So, um, is she gay?
Syd: "Do I look straight to you? Shit, you got your answer -- go watch 'Cocaine.'"
On good hair:
Syd: "I used to have long hair and get it done every two weeks, and it was never worth it to me. I would just walk out of the salon and put it in a ponytail anyway. I didn't want that shit in my face, blowing all in the wind, turn my head and slappin' me -- that shit is annoying! And it was even more annoying having to pay $50-60 every two weeks to get it look decent. Or to get my mom to let me walk out of the house. The first chance I got to cut my hair I did. It was a start to trying to gain some sort of freedom."

On high school:
Syd: "I was a loner, I spent the first half of high school alone. I was extremely depressed at Palisades, I won't say that switching school even helped that completely. But the black kids at Pali felt that since they were so far away from the 'hood they were better than everybody, and if you weren't on a sports team and you were black, you didn't have any friends. So when I quit the basketball team, suddenly everybody stopped being my friend. But it made me a stronger person, and I'ma be rich when I grow up and make them all regret it."
On her relationship with her mom:
Syd: "My mom wasn't expecting me to end up how I ended up. When she wanted to have kids, she wanted to have two girls, and then she got my brother and me. Which is a disappointment to anybody, you can't help it. A lot of the hair issue was her. I would've cut it a lot sooner if it wasn't for her. But we've come so far and she's my best friend."
On swag:
Martians: "We don't say 'swag' once on the whole [The Internet] album! Okay, maybe once."
On Odd Future and controversy:
Martians: "Hodgy, Tyler and Earl didn't plan to rap about those things to get a reaction from the media. They were doing it from the jump. So don't crown us for being these 'important' guys, and then what you crown us for, you wanna clown us for. We didn't ask for you to put us up here like this."
Syd: "If you don't like it, don't listen to it."
Martians: "Right. But a lot of people do because they feel like they have to listen to Odd Future. They feel like they need to have an opinion."
Syd: "That, and a lot of people feel like they don't have a cause to fight for. So when they can get on the internet and rant about something, they take their chance."
Martians: "People like being offended. Let's be real."
On touring as The Internet:
Syd: "It will probably happen. We'd have a live band. I've already recruited some really talented musicians I know from Hamilton. It'll be different, but I think the real fans will be open to it."
On cocaine:
Syd: "We made "Cocaine" because at the time cocaine was being pushed in all our faces, everybody around us was doing it and we were like why? For a 20 minute high that you're gonna get addicted to, that's overpriced?"
On shock value:
Martians: "I'm not saying do it without a basis or a goal or a point - if you do something that's shocking, you have to do it to show people the truth behind shit. You have to show people who eat McDonald's the pigs being slaughtered for them to understand what they're really eating."
On TV:
Martians: "You can't say shit about music until you stop making movies. You have movies on network TV showing kids people getting raped and shot -- that tells them a lot more about those things and how to do them than some metaphorical shit in my music that some kid is probably not gonna get. What you see affects you way more than what you hear."
On fame:
Martians: "These days no one wants to be Robin. Nobody wants to be the sidekick. Nobody wants to just make music -- they want to be the most successful. They want the fame of it. But Syd and I don't even leave the house, we're not on the internet all day promoting our stuff, and our music still spread by word of mouth. It shows that you don't have to chase fame -- the music can stand for itself."
On homosexuality in the media:
Syd: "We didn't make the video to make a statement about Odd Future and homophobia. It was to showcase a song by the Internet. But over the years I've come across so many dyke singers, dyke rappers, people with real heart and passion, and it's a shame that not one of them has made it. And I get it, the world is just now starting to become open about homosexuality. I can't really say I've contributed to that, and I'm grateful to the people who have set a path for me to be who I am today. And I guess in that sense I want to return the favor."
On "dyke" music:
"Who knows, I could start a whole spur of dyke music. I can't try to say that riot grrrls and all that shit didn't exist, but most people don't know what that is. Unless you've seen every episode of The L-Word, you probably don't know what that whole movement is. Because it's not even around anymore. It was there and it died down, a lot. And even those women were feminine. You know, look at me. I'm wearing men's jeans and I have a mohawk."

Highsnobiety recently highlighted some of Topman's new Spring/Summer collection, and I liked what I saw in the previews...so I checked out the website and I really like the brand. It has a mixture of classic, preppy and unique looks. Below are some pics of the new collection.

Lil petite with cute cut.

Such easy breezy looking waves.

She's cute.

This one resembles my ex gf. Not my fave pic, but I wanted to add it.

This girl here (and below) is a model. I don't know who she is, but I like her hair.

Reminds me of Chloe Va-gig-ny...I mean Sevigny a bit.

I used to think Ashley Judd (top) and Charlize Theron looked alike. They don't really, but they both are beautiful and I probably got them mixed up because they have perfect features.

The next ones...each one's look kinda fades into the other's and I think they all resemble different parts of one another.

Lisa Bonet (Denise Cosby, who I've loved since I was little), Shannyn Sossamon (is one hot, individual girl), Rosario Dawson (great singer, big toothy smile and great tits), Michelle Rodriguez (my favorite tough, beautiful, sexy actress with great smile and great scowl), Nora Jones (who I know nothing about).

Zooey Deschanel and Katie Perry, especially when those bangs touch those big blue eyes.

Anna Farris and Brittney Spears.

To be continued...

Pussycat, what shall I do?

2011-11-21T01:09:00.002-06:00

Well...the opportunities are limitless. Right?

As of a few weeks ago, I am no longer employed. The newspaper I wrote for was cancelled in it's entirety, therefore, I lost my job that very day. No warning. No time to spare. Time to move on.
What shall I do, I ask myself?
Right now I'm dreaming big, but looking for the basic jobs.
There is so much that interests me...and a lot of things I would not do.

Do I join the Navy? I feel like I'd be giving up my freedom .I don't like authority, but I'd learn to deal with authority in the Navy. I'd get paid well and get in shape and I'd get to live NEAR THE OCEAN. I hear the airforce has better amenities for the ladies.

Do I try to open my own shop? I have ideas, but it's really hard and wouldn't happen very quickly.

I will continue to write...my book.

Do I move to Costa Rica and spend four weeks getting TEFL certified only to live off of a $1,000 a month budget for the first year?

Do I get any 'ol corporate job and wear my bowtie to the boring office every day and get upset when my boss gives out orders?

Do I go back to school? Ugh.

Do I become a masseuse? (no happy endings allowed)

Aw...I'd love to work with animals.

Or do I follow the footsteps of love?

What love?

I know where it's left me and I know where it could be.

Pretty Titties

from fuckyeahgirlswithshorthair.tumblr.com

Um...I like these.

Did YOU break the mold?

2011-11-20T22:40:00.002-06:00

I feel like I live my life through events of the past. "This is what happened this time last week; this is what happened this time four months ago; This is what was happening a year ago," etc. I flashdance through moments in time. I'm a time keeper and a truth seeker. HA.
Going about my normal business and...whoops, I'd think of her. Tons of possiblities and scenarios ran through my brain, but I didn't want to know the real truth. Wonderment can be good.
Where does she live? Has her hair grown longer or changed any? Who is she dating? What type of partying is she doing...concerts, pills, liquor, sexo? Is she going to school? Has she finished school?
Maybe she's living in a nice house in Ft. Worth? Maybe she's living in a hammock in Austin? Maybe she went to my dream of Costa Rica. Maybe she's stripping next to the one arm stripper. Maybe she's skateboarding through the streets of our hometown. Maybe she's swimming laps at the gym.
Besides all of the "screw you lying whore; you need to kill yourself because no one likes you; selfish ugly slut; I hate you; you're the biggest mistake I ever made,"words, one of the other last things she said to me was that she was going to work on herself and better herself every day.
Maybe she was doing that. I would be shocked and speechless. Oh how proud I would be. Smile. Hug you. Squeeze you with adoration. Serve all of your probabtion time with your head held highly; to be sincere about hurting me and paying it forward. Work hard in school or a job. Go to therapy. Go To Anger Management. Become steady and stable and happy from the inside out rather from the outside in.
I'd be my "typical same ole self" if I said she couldn't attain that by surfing, going back and forth from here to california and getting a skeleton (of all things) tattoed across her entire chest. Maybe so?! Who knows? I will do a lot less self asking.

The awful yet awfully good scent of Noxzema, both used by my ex boyfriend and his father, brings back memories.

One day when my heart was feeling broken, I came across this tiny broken heart on my jog.

A dyke-cycle built for two

2011-11-20T21:28:00.001-06:00

Today I made plans to go on a bicycle ride...and my friend surprised me with a bicycle built for two. Haha. It was so cute. It made me squeal when I rode it. I didn't have any control over it and it sure got wobbly. My short legs hardly touched the ground and the handle bars were so low that I feel as if I strained the left side of my neck again. It was fun. We rode in the park, along the river, got a few sprinkles falling on us, grabbed some yummy frozen yogurt and felt the cool front blowing in.

Koshka is different and cute

2011-10-27T19:27:00.000-05:00

www.shopkoshka.com has some cute, yet weird and oddly fitting clothes. Here are a few I like:

cute feminine top

I like this top, and this cute little model, including her hair cut and her little round shades

Fun and colorful

She looks cute in this little top, however, if I were to wear it, I'd look like a dyke. I can't do button ups.

Wear over skinny jeans or leggings.

Cute, but pricey leggings

One day soon, I'll get my hair cut short. I tried to last year, but the dude gave me something like a shortish bob that's longer in the front and shorter in the back. I just made my hair wavy every day and looked like Baby from Dirty Dancing until it was long enough to put back into pigtails or pony. Fuck Yeah Girls With Short Hair always has cool photos.
