OK, I registered immediately hoping to be able to earn money in a matter of hours just by taking those “Paid Surveys”. In the member area, I got access to some useful information and instruction before taking surveys. So, I read them all, as well and got ready to get started. Guess what?! There was nothing but a large list of websites and companies. What? Come on, where are the paid surveys, then?

That program was just a middleman website providing a large database of companies and marketing research firms. It charged me only because of preparing that list, a list of actual services that you have to visit one by one and register, create your profile and wait for the surveys to come in to your e-mail inbox.

Yet, I tried to keep myself optimist and started joining every single available program that was listed there. After a couple of hours, I had signed up for almost 50 research companies and created my profile. Then, I decided to give myself a break and wanted to see what would happen.

Here is the fact behind paid surveys, in my personal point of view:

1. Like I said, these membership programs charge you just for the prepared list, not for the surveys. So, if you expect to get a lot of paid surveys right after the sign up, you are wrong.

2. The list is too big. There are literally hundreds of market research websites that you should visit and register one by one. It is time consuming and requires a lot of organizing. Besides, your e-mail inbox will get bombarded by a lot of companies and their offers.

3. Most of the survey sites are available only to the U.S. residents. So, if you live outside the United States, then you will be missing out a lot of survey programs.

4. Even if you live in the U.S. your profile and demographics should match their surveys. Otherwise you won´t get any paid surveys.

5. Here is the most ridiculous part. Most of those market research companies reward you with only prizes. Come on! Do you really think it would worth spending half an hour filling out one single survey for only a special prize? I don´t think so! Then, where is the real cash that has been promised before?

6. And this one is more annoying: many of market research companies just offer you a spot in the reward list to win a prize or cash. Can you believe that?

You spend your hard-earned money for a membership program that provides only a large database of companies, you register for each and every website, create your profile, subscribe to the e-mail list, get tons of e-mail messages to your inbox, get a survey, spend your valuable time filling out that survey and then just get a spot in a large list hoping to win a prize or cash. This is the fact behind these paid surveys programs.

What I´m trying to say is that paid surveys can be an option for making some extra money. I am not against that. I have personally been able to earn some cash, as well. But, if you think you would make $100/hour just by taking paid surveys, then you should think about it again.

So, now the choice is yours. Unfortunately, when I decided to order a paid survey membership program, there was not enough information out there. And you know what? I searched for the facts, cons and pros, but the results that came up were positive from some affiliates that wanted to make money. Apparently, they don´t care about people.

But, I DO care about my audience. I could have just put my affiliate link to one of those paid surveys programs in order to earn some extra commissions. But I don´t think it would be fair.

If you are a kind of person that has just too much money and wants to spend it trying paid surveys, fine, be my guest! But, I would not personally recommend paid surveys programs. In this case, if you are really interested in getting paid surveys, you can find a huge list of market research companies for FREE. Why would you want to pay for getting that list? But, again, it is up to you.

If getting paid to take surveys was that simple, don’t you think the whole entire population would be sitting at home filling out surveys? Well, the fact of the matter is that you won´t make good money as promised on the sales pages of the paid surveys membership programs. But, there is still some hope.

Well, I did not succeed in earning too much money with paid surveys, but now I make some money online from other ways, methods that are legal and ethical.

It is another question-type phrase that really attracts the prospect´s eye. You continue this phrase with the topic that you know your audience are looking for. “Looking For a Job?”, “Looking For a Good Web Hosting Company?”, to name a few.

7. Tired Of?

Again, another question-type phrase that talks emotionally to the people about a serious problem or issue. Basically, it tells about a disappointed fact, and then right after that offers a solution. Here are some examples: “Tired Of Money Making Scams?” or “Tired Of Working For Others?”.

8. Who Else Wants?

As you see, question-type words and phrases have amazing effects in a headline or ad copy. Phrases such as “Who Else Wants To Earn $1000/Day?” or “Who Else Wants To Lose Weight In 2 Weeks?” are so powerful that a reader gets interested in the offer and even takes it.

9. Instant Results

As a nature of human being, people always wants instant results. They would like to achieve their goals as quick as possible. This phrase talks to that characteristic and has generated fantastic results.

10.  Act Now!

Believe it or not, nothing has more effect than call to action words. This phrase is one of them and entices the reader or visitor to take action right away. It does not matter if you use it in the headline or even at the bottom of the page close to the Order button, just use it!

Well, knowing the above-mentioned phrases is recommended for every one who wants to write attractive copies. But, always remember this point: Don´t ever lie or mislead! Nothing is more harmful than dishonesty. It hurts you, your audience and your business. Be honest and you will get credit.

Just type your topic in combination with words such as “forums”, “discussion boards”, “db”, etc. At that point, you will see lot of forums about your topic. Check the top three ones and see what they have for you. You can also ask your questions and want people to answer it. And remember to take some notes, as well. Again, don´t copy!!!

4. At this point, you can fine-tune your research by visiting some online communities and groups , reading their content and also asking your own questions. That will help you a lot. Because your article won´t be based on just some personal points of view. It will be enriched with people´s knowledge and experience. Yahoo! Groups, Google Groups and MySpace Groups, to name a few.

I am really sorry, but it is late. Not because of the money you have paid. In most cases, the product owner is offering a money back guarantee, but it is not the issue. The point is that you started dreaming while you read the sales page and the promises. You started thinking that only by buying that product, you too can make good money, become financially free, buy your dream car and house, travel worldwide and so on. Not only, it has not happened, you have lost your motivation and become totally disappointed.

Don´t worry! You are not alone. I feel you exactly and understand your situation. You are not the first or last person who experiences this problem and I bet you are really tired of such scams. That´s why I decided to write a post and warn you that you should stay away from 90% of the money making info products out there. Although the number 90 is not an official data from statistics, (don´t quote me, though), you consider that number too high.

A) Does it really take 5 minutes to reveal a secret that has made you tons of money?!!!!!

B) If that secret makes you a lot of cash, why would you want to share it with others?!!!!!

C) OK, let´s accept that your secret may work. But, will it still work for thousands of people when they buy your product and discover that method, as well?!!!!!

I mean these claims are really ridiculous. Honestly, I can´t tolerate such dishonest people that only want your money. I hope you won´t either.

5. Determine Your Break-Even Point & Maximum Cost Per Click

If you want to obtain more than 100% Return Of Investment (ROI), then your earnings should be more than your advertising costs. For Instance, if a product earns you $50 per sale and the Conversion Rate is 1% (1 out of every 100 people will buy the product), in order to obtain 100% ROI, you cannot spend more than $0.50 per click on average to achieve 100% ROI. So, for getting more profits, your maximum CPC should be less than $0.50 or your Conversion Rate must be higher than 1%.

You see, getting traffic, as I said before, is not the case. Now, with the help of great advertising programs such as AdWords, you can receive tons of traffic to your web pages right away. The point is how to convert that traffic into profits or how to monetize your traffic. So, buying profits is challenging.

Regardless of your affiliate marketing business model, you have to pick up high-converting products to promote. Just choose a wrong product and you will fail. So, selecting a hot product is too vital for your campaigns.

Clickbank is one of the top leaders among the existing affiliate networks and its fame is more importantly because of the availability and popularity of digital products. It has a huge marketplace full of various digital products and services on virtually any topic or category.

But, not all of those products are great. If you want to succeed online by promoting Clickbank products, you have to consider the following important features of a hot product, before you even check out the marketplace and browse the categories: 

1. High Commissions:

This is the first feature I usually check out in the process of choosing a hot Clickbank product. Commission is based on the $Earned/Sale and according to Clickbank,  it is the average net amount earned per affiliate per referred sale and it is impacted by refunds, charge backs and sales taxes. Normally, it is displayed as $/sale.

This score is measured in U.S. Dollars ($). At the first look, I try to overlook products with commissions under $15 U.S. Do you really think it would be worth it promoting a product with such a low commission? I don´t think so. Don´t bother yourself with tiny earnings!

Of course, your marketing method determines which products you can choose for good profit margins. If you are marketing through PPC, then it would be more vital to pick a product with hefty commissions. Even in free marketing method, you won´t want to waste your time and energy. So, select a product that pays of!

On the other hand, products with high commissions can have high prices. There are probably highly valuable products that really worth the price, but remember that you want to convert your audience to customers and one of the most important rules is offering something that is affordable. So, if you a pick a product with a very expensive price, then don´t expect high conversion rates. So, the product´s price should be reasonable and affordable. In most cases, I would go for the price less than $100 U.S.      

2. High Gravity

Gravity is a score measured by Clickbank that reflects the number of distinct affiliates who earned a commission by referring a paying customer to the publisher’s products. Clickbank does not publish the formula for the score or the score itself. Rather, they provides only a weighted sum and they add an amount between 0.1 and 1.0 to the total for each affiliate paid in the last 8 weeks. So, the more recent the last referral, the higher the value added. Normally, it is displayed as grav.  

What Gravity could tell us is if a particular product has been sold well or not during the past few weeks. So, if you sort the products by the highest Gravity in a specific category or sub-category in Clickbank, you will get a better indication of what a hot product is. If a product has been sold well by marketing, chances are that you will be able to market that product, as well and receive good results.

Although Clickbank does not reveal the exact formula or score, but based on expert views and marketers´s experiences, a good product might have a Gravity more than 70. So, it is just an estimation, but it would be an important factor for picking up a Clickbank product to promote.

Sometimes, you may see a product with a very high Gravity. Normally, it means that there are a lot of people out there earning good money by promoting & selling that product. The good news is the power of that product itself which sells well. The bad news is that there are already tons of other people marketing that product at the same time which means the market is somewhat saturated and the competition is strong. So, you have to consider it, as well.      

3. Low Competition:

Clickbank has another score called %refd (%Referred) which indicates a fraction of publisher’s total sales referred by affiliates. So, if a number is 85.0%, it means that 85 percent of the sales have been generated by affiliates. Well, this score does not exactly tell us how much competition there is, but, you can get a better picture of the strength of competition out there.

Honestly, there is not any specific number for this scale. So, if a referral percent is 99%, then it looks like it is only the affiliates who market the product and make sales. The merchant or vendor´s activity for marketing his own product is also important. Normally, I consider this feature on a parallel with Gravity in order to select a winning product. That´s why I prefer to monitor the product for a while and see how these features have been changed.

Always, check if a particular product has the above-mentioned features before promoting it. Gather the needed information and datas from Clickbank and other statistics resources.
