When I arrived in the US and met a group of non-conformist artists from the former Soviet Union I was inspired to use this ability in my art.For me each object has a voice, whether it's the rasp of a rusted metal mechanism, the nostalgic whisper of a silk tissue or the rural chatter of a wooden spoon. By putting all these materials together I orchestrate the music of found objects and thus find my own uniquevoice.Using the interaction of spiritual meditation and found objects I encourage images to appear from my subconscious. In the beginning I was not using any coloring substances, later I started taking a more fluid approach to my art, including paint in it and just as often abandoning collage altogether to conjure real and imagined spacesentirely from pigments.I acknowledge, however, that in order to attract attention of younger generations, accustomed to computers, art must be interactive. Therefore, I envision creating large scale and three-dimensionalpanoramic paintings-collages and installations into which participants can "enter" and experience the wonder of art and nature. On the walls will be buttons to push in order to hear my poetry and accompanying music.

***********************************************************

Artist Maeco, aka MAriska's paintings celebarte Mother Earth and Nature. Besides the 10% that is donated to an environmental charity with earths-journey each year, she donates 30 percent of each painting for a project in her home of Tamil Nadu which is donated to homeless aged women. The entire lamp is made from scrap wood 2X4's and salvaged copper tubbing. The shade is made from thinly cut pieces of dyed wood leaded together. The base is wood and copper tubing with a copper patina to look like the orinal metal base. When the lamp is turned on, the light shines thru the wood just as if it is glass. Is it wood or is it glass?, you will be truly amazed with the detail on this lamp.

__________________________________________________________________

To Our Buyers - Want a Free Bird Feeder?

With any purchase in the Month of March, you will get a FREE earths-journey Bird Feeder!

__________________________________________________________________

As always, for more information, email: earthsjourneyts@yahoo.com

earths-journey ECO-CHALLENGE

RePurpose ECO-Challenge
earths-journey.com
DEADLINE: March 31, 2009

CHALLENGE:
What brilliant recreation can you make from this water bottle? If you have a passion for something, you are LUCKY if you can make it into a business for yourself. There is no other happiness in the world then doing something you love and having the ability to make a living with that passion. I've spent most of my life searching for my passion, and finally found it in the creativity of wonderful artists and crafters. I truly love talent and am passionate about spreading the word of how incredible Eco-Artists and Crafters are, more so than a usual artist or crafter.

This brings me to my point. I found a website that can make your dreams come true. I remember being a small girl wanting so much to be an actress when I grew up... but life gets in the way and those dreams sometimes just stay dreams. I've often thought, what if? I wonder if I would have been successful and could I have possibly been Mrs. BrangaTina! (Oh that Brad Pitt!).

If you've ever wondered like me, what if... or even if you've wanted to try doing something else for a living, but just don't know how to go about it; or if you're like me and like a learning vacation rather than sitting on a beach somewhere relaxing - I have an answer for you.

http://www.vocationvacations.com/

This is an incredible website that offers you the chance to pursue or even just taste another world. It offers you a one-on-one mentorship with a person who is in the field you've always dreamed of, for a few days. It's a vocation vacation! This gives you the opportunity to see what life is like as a Radio Personality, or a Chef. We've all seen the movie "City Slickers" well now you can find out what it's really like to own and operator your own Cattle Ranch. One of the coolest and newest vacations that they offer is: Want to be an Archaeologist? WOW, can you imagine that? Spending a weekend with a real Archaeologist and digging right along with them and possibly finding a piece of history that no one has seen in hundreds and hundreds of years?

Here's one for my artists and crafters... ever wondered if you could take your talents and open up your own Gallery???? You can find out by taking a vacation with someone who did just that. They took their own skills and talents and now run their own successful Gallery. Now don't get me wrong, these vacations are not cheap... but to someone who has always wondered, WHAT IF... they are worth their weight in gold. You can find out what if, you can change your vocation, you can change your life. Do you know what a Luthier is? Either did I! It's a guitar maker, and yes, you can experience what life would be like if this was your dream.

Another opportunity this website offers - not only can you go and find out what your true vocation vacation is, but you can also be a mentor as well. Have you ever wanted to teach people about your own talent? I remember meeting a woman at a juried exhibition and began talking to her about her outstanding pottery. She told me that everything she uses, from her kiln to her glazes were all environmentally friendly (yes, I am getting her to show her talents on http://www.earths-journey.com/), and she was so excited about the possibility of teaching others how to be more eco-friendly while keeping true to their personal talent. Well this would be a great opportunity for her, she can be a one-on-one mentor to someone who has always dreamed of wheel throwing for the environment.

I just think this is an incredible opportunity for a lot of people. Finding out what your life could be like with a totally different vocation! Finding out what it would be like to be a Sea Captain, or a Milner it gives you a vision of a possible future, or a glimpse of a life completely different from what you know. It could also be a reality check of how good your life is right now, I'm sure each person comes out of this experience with their own realities.

Please let me know if anyone finds out their true calling from one of these vacations, I'd love to hear all about it!

Tina Santillo
Owner, earths-journey.com
earthsjourneyts@yahoo.com

Seeded Notecards Are Here!

As most of you already know, earths-journey.com received such wonderful response from our "Wildflower Seeded Holiday Cards" that we now have our own Notecards for purchase!

On the front of our cards, it says: A GROWING THOUGHT... with the inside's blank, and the back of the card has the planting instructions.

We've checked around for other's who sell these cards, and found that normally, each card goes for $3.00, and for a pack of 5, it's usually $15.00. Are there eco-friendly art supplies? Where can I buy green art supplies? So finally instead of answering every individual email, I thought, why not blog about these wonderful companies???

Well the first place that I fell in love with is called: The Real Milk Paint. The Real Milk Paint Co. is eco-friendly, lead-free, biodegradable, non-toxic wall, furniture, and craft paint.

Another place we've found is called: Eco Art Supplies. This company offers Golden Acrylic Paints that are sustainably manufactured, artist's paints by Golden. Their acrylic paints are made with the highest quality pigments and resin. Golden has been on the forefront of environmental stewardship programs for it's Columbus, NY facility. Founded by its member charities in 1988, EarthShare is an opportunity for environmentally-conscious employees and workplaces to support hundreds of environmental groups through a charitable giving drive.

Each artist on earths-journey.com registers to sell their art on our site with a few simple rules. You must use recycled, found, upcycled and/or environmentally friendly materials to create your work, and you must participate in donating 10% of your profit to an environmental charity each year.

Most of the artists on earths-journey were more excited that they would be donating 10% of their profits to an environmental charity then they were to get a sale. I feel very lucky and blessed to be involved with such wonderful people and am honored to have them in my life.

For more information on earths-journey.com and our artists, visit our site, or email: earthsjourneyts@yahoo.com

Earths-Journey Blog and Newsletter

www.earths-journey.com/

Have you seen earths-journey.com lately??? I wanted to share some great and interesting shopping websites with you. I have always fancied myself a wonderful gift shopper, in terms of thinking of the person receiving the gifts and really looking into what they would like as opposed to what they need. After all, gifts should be a thought process, not just a purchase.

As in the case of my 18 year old nephew Jason. Jason is a great student, good hearted person, and is fortunate enough to have everything he needs in life. His parents are good to him, he works hard at his studies and to be perfectly open, he deserves the good life. So what do you get a kid that has everything? Well, I came across this website a few years ago, and thought this was the coolest thing I've ever seen. http://www.whoopassenterprises.com actually makes a Bobble head from the pictures of the person you send them! My nephew Jason got, well, ummmm, himself! I just sent in a picture of the front of his face, and the side, and they created a Jason Bobble head! Okay, how cool is that!

Now, I just love this idea! Have you ever thought, or do you know someone that is in a dead-end job and has dreams of doing something else, but doesn't know what that is, or feels they're too old to go back to school to become their dream? Then check out this absolutely wonderful website called: http://www.vocationvacations.com. This website allows you to take a short vacation, with a one-on-one mentor, doing the job of your dreams! Ever wanted to be a real cowboy and rope and ride? Do you have dreams of being a Broadway Producer or owning your own doggy day-care? How about a chocolatier? This website offers you a chance of a lifetime! Take your next vacation now and find out if your dream job could possibly be your reality!

I happen to have a male friend that is... well, let's just call him a computer geek! He would rather figure out the binary code on a clock then go to lunch... do you know the kind? You really can't buy gifts for this type of person because you don't understand half the things they say! Well, http://www.computergear.com is the epitome of "I have no idea what this guy's talking about so let me get him something geeky" gift shops! From t-shirts to desktop toys, from robots to Star Wars and finally from math jokes to fun computer cuff links! Love this store!

And as always, not to toot our own horn, but yes, you should always shop at http://www.earths-journey.com for very cool, recycled and environmentally friendly gifts!!! We have purses made from seat belts, recycled silver jewelry, mosaic's and rugs made from old jeans! There is always something for everyone... every price range and more and more artists are signing on with Earth's Journey each day!

Remember, when buying a gift, think about the person getting the gift... don't get something they NEED, they can get that on their own. Get them something that is frivolous and all about them. If it's not a gift from your heart, then it's just money thrown away.

Interview!

This was an interview that I did for the website - http://ecopreneurist.com

Eco Art - There’s a Market For It
Written by mcmilker
Published on November 16th, 2008

Eco-entrepreneurs

This week, I had the opportunity to touch base with an entrepreneur tackling the art market. Tina Santillo, owner of, www.earths-journey.com, talks with me here about her journey as an green entrepreneur.

Did you look into the art market at all before you started?
It’s not so much that I looked into the art market before starting my business, it was more of journey that lead me to here. I have always been creative, and dreamed of opening up my own little funky craft store downtown somewhere for when I had to retire - just for something to do. I was going to purchase only pieces I liked, keep my dog in the store with me and smile the day away as people came in and out browsing.

Then one day I was looking for a gift for someone and came across this beautiful piece and fell in love with it. Upon closer inspection, I realized that it was a bowl made from plastic recycled bottle caps, and I was shocked. It was at that moment that it all came into play. I needed to find more artists that worked with recycled materials just to see the talent and imagination… and that excitement brought me into the arts circle. What I found there was a definite passion I was missing in my life - and one that I had been seeking for quite some time.

Tell me about the art market
Did you know that Art has surpassed the stock market in appreciation over the past twenty years. Also, we have an artist on the site that creates Fresco Paintings and that the first pigments used in painting were ground from earth, minerals and organic matter? Pigment is finely-ground colored powder which, when suspended in a medium such as oil, egg or water, forms paint. Most pigments are now made chemically and are more permanent; however he still uses the earth minerals for his pigmentation.

Why do you think there is a market for your site?
I believe in today’s economy, it’s no longer a choice to be eco-friendly, it’s a necessity. We are all looking for ways to save, reuse, recycle, and do our part on this earth. We are all in the market for a new concept, a new idea, something ingenious to take our minds off the mundane. Artist’s like our site because it’s their freedom of expression, and buyers like our site for the variety. You can buy a cool recycled necklace that used to be a mans tie for $9.00, and you can purchase an Original piece of art from India for $2000.00. The variety will be endless.

How do you vet your artists to make sure they are really green?
That’s one of the prerequisites for exhibiting, and they all must document that they are environmentally friendly. They can not physical put up an exhibit unless they agree to our terms. We also monitor the site and email artists who we feel are not environmentally friendly and give them a chance to explain before having their account deleted. We are strict on that term.

Why have you been so successful?
I’ve never understood this statement I’m about to make before, because there wasn’t anything that I was so passionate about, but this websites success is because of Passion and Perseverance. I don’t think I could have dedicated so much time, money and effort into anything without it meaning so much to me. The talent of the artists on Earth’s Journey to this day, boggles my mind. I am in awe of the creativity they are born with, and the ingenuity to see things differently then most people.

Thanks Tina!

Creating Your Own Recycled Art!

We recycle trash, bottles, papers etc. So how about getting a little more creative and use your trash in an art form? We can use and reuse all forms of things that we discard. Did you know that if you take your supermarket plastic bags, cut the ends off, and place it between two sheets of wax paper, then iron it for about 15 seconds, that’s called “Fusing Plastic”? You can create all types of items with this creativity because it becomes more of a fabric then a plastic and it can be sewn. (For more instructions on how to do this properly, you only need email me: earthsjourneyts@yahoo.com)

We are becoming an eco-conscious community of people, which is an amazing thing. Our world needs help from the people that encompass it, meaning us. Beauty is part of our glorious world and to remake mundane items into works of art, is a form of preservation both for the world and for the soul. With skill and imagination and a little practice, just think of what we can create transforming every day items into works to marvel. It comes down to preserving our incredible world, which we do take for granted, and making it a better place for ourselves. Just look at the wonderful artists on our website, www.earths-journey.com – they can see beauty, form and an unconventional wisdom. Did you know that we now have a Forums section, and all you have to do is register and ask one of our artists a question? They are all willing to help promote what they do and would love to teach others to help in our own environmental change.

Our imaginations are a wonderful thing and we need that to sometimes get us through many nights and days of reality. We have to learn to recycle things to preserve the space and energy that exists already. Art, imagination and creativity uplifts the spirit and soul and it is within us all. –Gloria Santillo

Sharing a Story with the World!

I have to share an interesting story. Just last week, I went to go meet a friend of mine for lunch. She takes care of her mother, so I went to her house - and we hadn't seen each other in almost 2 years. Although we have been friends since 4th grade, life sometimes gets in the way of seeing the people that mean so much.

As we were sitting at the kitchen table, we began discussing Earth's Journey, and how excited I was with my new adventure of building this wonderful site, and showing the world how beauty can come out of recycling. I started talking about the talent that was out there that I've found, and how most people don't have that imagination to create beautiful works of art out of trash. My babbling about artists that use environmentally friendly materials must have triggered something in her mind because she suddenly said to me, "You know, sometimes when I'm bored, I play with Microsoft Paint and draw pictures on my computer." Well that's nice I thought, until she went and got me one of her so called "scrap paper" drawings. I was shocked. It was absolutely gorgeous! She created a picture of a landscape scene Tuscany on Microsoft Paint. Now if any of you have ever used Paint, you know as well as I do that you can't really draw with a steady hand because the control is on your mouse and unless you zoom into the picture you can't really see any fine lines.

So I started yelling at her! Okay, it was a friendly yelling, but she had no idea that what she just showed me was really very good. And not only that - what she was doing was Eco-Friendly!!! She was drawing on her computer; there are no chemical paints involved, no smells, no mess. I literally had to remind her of this... "Do you know you're very talented and eco-friendly?" Her response was, "I am?" I said that all she needed to do was to purchase some recycled paper and a reclaimed wooden frame, and she could show her own exhibit on our website! She said, "I could"? It was the excitement of a child – you know, sometimes it just takes someone to appreciate what you do for you to appreciate it yourself.

Please see the beautiful work of Mary Espenas below: (So, was I right, or is it just me?)

That very same week, I finally got a copy of the pictures my other girlfriend took from when we both attended the Willie Nelson concert at Radio City Music Hall. (Yes, I'm a BIG Willie Nelson fan.) She brought her digital camera and for weeks I was calling her asking when I would get a copy of the pictures. Well, I finally got them. Now, if it were me taking these pictures, they would come out blurry, far away, half of Willie cut off... I am not a very good photographer. Okay, so, what I saw in these pictures was someone with a definite eye for photography. Some people have that eye, and others like me, don't. I asked her, "how do you print these"? She responded I usually buy photography paper from Staples. Obviously my next question was, "Do they have environmentally-friendly photo paper", to which her answer was, "I don't know."

People live day-to-day without knowing they are creative and/or eco-friendly. I'm not saying that everyone in the world should become and artist and join Earth's Journey, but what I am saying is think about your life a little more. Is there something that you do on a daily basis, or enjoy doing, or have a hobby? Is there something you could do differently to be more eco-friendly? Do you have yard sales just to "get rid" of things in your home, only to find out that the $50.00 you made from 2 days of dealing with people trying to low-ball you, could have been donated to a worthy cause instead? Do you sell things on Ebay to realize that the kid down the street that doesn't have much could have used that old toy you just got $3.00 for?

A digital camera is again, digital. If you can find recycled photographer paper, then why not use that instead? My girlfriend only knew that she liked to take pictures, and didn't think she was any good, and sometimes it just takes someone to tell them. Please see my favorite Willie Nelson picture below, taken by my friend, and possible Eco-Artist, Jennifer Medaglia.

Where do we go from here?

Economic crisis? Global Warming? Recycling?

This is not a trend, it's a reality. Society's natural evolution brings us to this day where we all have to participate in saving our planet and ourselves. This is no longer a plea to be environmentally aware, or a suggestion to start at home with recycling... this is a genuine must in everyone's lives.

Earth's Journey was created because for the first time - I saw beauty in, for lack of a better term, garbage! I remember looking at junk art years ago, and thinking, wow, this really is junk -art. How times and creativity have grown from a pile of what looked like parts of a car on top of each other and on a stick, to the beauty that Eco-Artists are creating today. Where do you think our society will go from here? Our society will HAVE to embrace these words and make them a part of their every day lives. We must look at different venues in our lives to participate in any way we can - from earth-friendly products for house use, to not using chemicals in daily life, and of course, for buying holiday gifts for our loved ones. My gifts this year are "starter kits" for my family. An organic shopping bag, energy saving light bulbs, green cleaning products, etc.

My point is this. Beginning now and in the years to come, the necessity to find venues where people can purchase daily items, gifts, food and clothes where there is no thought process on whether the item is good for the environment or not, will not exist. Everyone is either there already, or heading that way now, and even yes... the people who feel it is a trend are getting on board because it's a trend, but who cares. There here!

Earth's Journey Update for Eco-Artists and Crafters

As most of you know, I take great pride in Earth's Journey, and seek out artists whose talents go beyond the predictability. I see a piece of art, and I'm attracted to it for its uniqueness, then amazed at the artists vision and how they can take an ordinary, everyday product and use it in ways I can't even fathom. I still look at that plastic jar of coffee sitting on my kitchen counter and for weeks have not thought of any type of art I can create with it. It's a plastic container, I can make a tea light out of it? (Yes, as you can see - that's why I am not an Eco-Artist.)

As of today, my sole responsibility to our site has been to both marketing and advertising - who we are, and what we are confident in becoming. I am convinced that by next year, when you hear the words Eco-Artists it will automatically be associated to Earth's Journey. We have a marketing team which has been working diligently in the background to get us known, by Link Building, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Blogging, Press Releases and of course, word of mouth.

A few of the artists I've been talking to have made it a point to let me know that it's very rare to get the personal attention that Earth's Journey has given. In today's day and age, when I need a quick question answered by my cell phone company, and I'm put through a barrage of voice messages and pressing 1 for English, it stresses me out to the point where I sometimes hang up. My point is that I believe in relationships, honesty and dependability. I am not only striving to make Earth's Journey successful, but you as well. It is with this personal attention that I believe we can become a community in ourselves, and also help others to understand the environmental benefits of the works on our site.

I want to thank you all for joining Earth's Journey, and understand that our Eco-Artist venue is growing. I first needed to establish our artists, and basically "sell" you all on the idea which you have all taken with no thought process, and I commend you for that. Once we have a notable amount of Eco-Artists for the world to choose, it will be up to me and our marketing team to get our name out to the consumer. I've already purchased mailing lists for very affluent people from across the country, meaning all these people have several things in common. One being they subscribe to Arts magazines, and the other is that they donate to charities, which means that they believe in causes, no matter what they are, and they appreciate your efforts and creative talents.

By November/December, you will see a quite a few more artisans joining, and then we will be ready to show the world what you can do. Thanks again for believing in Earth's Journey, thanks again for your talent, and as always - if you need to contact me, I will be here to answer!

Tina Santillo

Owner, Earth's Journey

earthsjourneyts@yahoo.com

Collecting Junk for Art

I'd like to invite you all to come to the Earth's Journey "Forums" pages and start posting your advertisements for collecting junk and recycled materials to create your art! I know most of you have your own sources, and like myself, take the plastic bags from the store to see what creative thing I can do with them. But what if you had an opportunity to ask people in your neighborhood to "drop off" their bags, and metals, and plastics so you can have more items to work with?

I thought this would be interesting, since we all work with recycled materials, and sometimes feel the need to purchase items just so we have the materials we need for our next project. Under the forums page, you can start by adding the State you live in, then add the area, and see if there are other people interested in collecting these resources with you. I don't mean you need to have a big container in front of your home for people to drop off their garbage to you - I mean, you can say: email me at this address if you have any of these materials and are close by.

I believe this might help the world come to a better understanding of how we make recycled art. When people start to see the beauty that comes from junk, it might help change some minds on how to help with their own recycling!

Any problems, questions, ideas, advice, please email me at: earthsjourneyts@yahoo.com. And as always, if you want to become an Eco-Artist and show your own exhibit on Earth's Journey, all you need to do is have a paypal account. Registration, designing your exhibit, adding your bio is all free! You have nothing to lose. Upon sale of one of your pieces, our fees are: 70% to the artist, 20% to Earth's Journey, and 10% is donated each year to an environmental charity in your name!

Help us help others!

Earth's Journey is Proudly Announced as an Endorser of the EPA's WasteWise Program

Earth's Journey, a new online art gallery for Eco-Artists and Crafters has just announced its endorsement of the EPA's WasteWise Program. Recycling saves energy and helps keep valuable materials out of landfills and incinerators, and our artists use this concept to create their art.

(PRWEB) October 7, 2008 -- Earth's Journey, a new online art gallery for Eco-Artists and Crafters has just announced its endorsement of the EPA's WasteWise Program. The program is designed for organizations that demonstrate their leadership in the environmental arena and play a pivotal role in conserving natural resources and preventing pollution.

The new eco-artist website, devotes itself to the environment, so it's only natural their next move was to become an endorser of the EPA's WasteWise Program. The website dedicated to high-end artists and crafters who only use recycled, up-cycled and/or environmentally friendly materials has just recently launched, and has already attracted some esteemed eco-friendly artists to its website.

"We've just recently announced that 10% of our profits will be donated to an environmental charity each year, so it seems a natural progression to help endorse the meaning of the Environmental Protection Agency," states Tina Santillo, owner of Earth's Journey. The WasteWise Program is a initiative sponsored by the EPA through which organizations reduce municipal solid waste benefiting their bottom line and the environment. "Recycling saves energy and helps keep valuable materials out of landfills and incinerators, and our artists use this concept to create their art."

Earth's Journey has only been online since September '08, and the results of their success are based on how people are dedicated to saving the planet. Eco-Artists and Eco-Shoppers alike are passionate about this reality, and more and more people are looking at buying "recycled beauty" especially in this time of economic crisis.

Visit Earth's Journey at http://www.earths-journey.com.

###

Allergies and Eco-Friendly Products

As we grow older, it amazes me how much we turn into our parents and grandparents. I found myself taking a vitamin out of its jar, putting it down on the counter, putting the cap back on, going to the next vitamin, taking it out of its jar, until I realized, I had the exact same pile of vitamins that I used to watch my Mother and Grandmother take each day with their glass of orange juice! Well, I laughed for a moment and realized so this is what growing older is?

One of these vitamins is for an allergy that just happened upon me at the ripe old age of (insert any number here). ha ha My allergy is to things I've used all my life... detergent, soaps, dish washing liquids, and even my shampoo. It's amazing how you can suddenly be allergic to things when you never had a problem before. It begins as an itch that will not be satisfied until I apparently look like I have leprosy! I had to throw away all things that touch my skin, and buy all new "allergy-safe" items.

In looking for these items, I had to smile knowing that at the same exact time I began my website dedicated to helping our environment, I get an allergy that makes me go to the extreme in my quest. The items I found were not only helping to save our earth by being all natural, eco-friendly and good for the environment, but they are now the things I have to use on a daily basis. Interesting how life works, don't you think?

So, please help me! I am looking for ALL DAILY USE items that will help me with my new found addicting, scratching, can't satisfy the itch until there are tunnels leading to some underground sanctuary in my skin allergy! Please post any and all items you think may help me and others on this quest! Thanks everyone!!!

Earth's Journey Announces 10% of their Profit to be Donated to an Environmental Charity

Besides being a website dedicated to saving the planet through artistic creativity, Earth's Journey will now share part of their profits to an environmental charity each year.

Earth's Journey, an online gallery for the Eco-Artist and Crafter, has just announced that 10% of their profits will be donated to an environmental charity each year.

"When an eco-artist joins Earth's Journey, they are already being environmentally responsible by using earth friendly materials. When an eco-shopper buys something on our site, they can be proud to know that they have become a part of the millions of people that are concerned about saving our planet," states Tina Santillo, owner of Earth's Journey. "This is just another way we will honor our earth by donating to a charity that we know dedicates most of their funds to the cause."

Earth's Journey has only been online 2 months, however the results of their success is based on how people are dedicated to saving the planet. Eco-Artists and Eco-Shoppers alike are passionate about this reality, and more and more people are looking at buying "recycled beauty" especially in this time of economic crisis.

To find out more about Earth's Journey, visit them at http://www.earths-journey.com.

###

Suggestions on Recycling / Eco-Artists?

As I am not an artist myself, and can only appreciate the talent the world has to offer, I'd like to get some artistic suggestions on what to do with my empty Coffee Containers. I already know how to recycle, but I'm looking for a little creativity in how to recycle some things I use on a daily basis. This container, for example (shown here) seems to be begging to be turned into something upcycled, and I stare at it each day and hold it in different positions thinking that SOMETHING will come to me, but it doesn't.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to turn this simple container into something artistically amazing??? She’s been honing her skills as a mosaic artist since 2001. Previous artistic dalliances include costume design and theater direction. Not finding satisfaction in the flexibility of fabric or actors she made the decision to turn her hand to glass after a home décor project opened her eyes to the ancient art of mosaics. Juanita is a founding member of Glass Artists of the Pikes Peak Region (GAPPR) and of Rocky Mountain Association of Mosaic Artists (RMAMA). Her artwork is on display and for sale at galleries and other venues in Colorado and New Mexico. Not content to suffer her addiction to mosaics alone, Juanita teaches mosaics through Bemis School of Arts and Full Spectrum Art Glass Supply in Colorado Springs.

Welcome to Earth's Journey!!!
