The Infamous Mobb Deep will be making a stop in San Antonio for the 20th Anniversary show brought to you by Scoremore Shows.

We also have another NYC duo set to take stage in Austin Texas. Both Roc Marciano and Meyhem Lauren will be blessing the stage at The North Door for the Chaos In Tejas Music Fest.

Monsanto, GMO's and Choices (March against Monsanto Recap)

This past Saturday organizers world wide and took to their picket signs and bullhorns to protest Bio-Tec Agricultural Giant, Monsanto. If your not familiar with Monsanto, they produce GMO's or Genetically Modified Organisms which are the source of GMF's (genetically modified foods) which is basically creating living organisms by using cross genetics. Some examples of GMO's are used to create both pharmaceutical and experimental drugs, seeds for crops, and animals just to name a few. Now when it comes to the perception of Monsanto, it can be looked at on both ends of the spectrum. Some feel they are doing a great service by feeding a steady growing global population while others believe that we are lab rats being profited off of for the almighty, all seeing, Treasury note.

Anyways, after becoming familiar with Monsanto via Facebook "friends" with similar interests. I was able to get briefly educated after reading a few articles and watching several Youtube videos. Yes, I know I'm not suppose to believe eeeverythinging I read on these Independent News sites and eeeverything that I watch on Youtube, but the accusation alone against Monsanto had my interest.

About two weeks ago I learned of the March against Monsanto. A organized protest that was reportedly held in 52 countries and 436 cities across this globe that protested not only Monsanto's act against humanity but to voice their opinion over a recent bill that was rejected that would allow states to require labeling of genetically modified foods. Instantly I made up my mind to attend this event. I mean I've shared several of the articles that I read with fb "friends" and wanted to put walk in my talk. And of course in most cases wherever I go, my family goes. So after a night of heavy rain that ran into the next day that produced a national news scare of floods which led my mother to leaving me a voicemail, fb message and follow up call until she finally reached me, we were able to arrive at the rally about an hour before it ended.

On the ride downtown as we headed to the historic Alamo, the location where the event was held. My daughter asked where were we going and why? Her mother and I gave her a general idea of what was going on. But as I started to explain to her what was going on I began to feel that this was more about having a choice and making decisions. And the conversation became about just that, choices and decisions. As a parent I want to prepare my daughter to make the right decisions with all the different choices or options in life. As cliche and corny as it sounds to some, our children really are the future.

I'm not sure what this rally will lead to. Will the Senate reverse their decision? Will others be inspired and continue to support? or will people continue to be passive and not question the decisions that are being made for our lives? But what I did and do want to focus on is our right to make choices. Good or Bad.
