5.Select Virtual device and choose settings , a dialog appears. In the dialog select

i)Storage->Storage Tree->Empty

ii)In the attributes area choose the Android4.2 iso file you downloaded and check Live Cd/Dvd, and then click Ok.

6.Then start the virtual system. In the screen choose Install Android-x86 to hard drive.

7.In the next display choose Create/Modify Partition.

8.Then make a new main bootable partition and choose wrire. After completing writing choose quit.

9.Then set up android in sda1 and select type as ext3 , select yes for setting up grub.

10.After setting up remove live iso from VirtualBox and restart. Now you can start into Android 4.2.2.

Installing Rails on Ubuntu in Easy Steps

Introduction

This guide outlines a procedure for installing the following Rails environment:

Ubuntu 11.10
Ruby 1.92
Rails 3.20
Rubygems 1.8.15
MySQL
SQLite
Git

Step 1: Update your operating system packages

The first thing we are going to do is get the latest updates for Ubuntu. The following two commands will download and install the latest Ubuntu updates.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

Step 2: Install Ruby 1.9.2, build-essential, and git

Ubuntu provides several versions of Ruby. If you aren’t careful, you may end up installing older or even multiple versions. We want to install version 1.9.2 so we have the latest and greatest. For this, and other tasks ahead of us, we’ll also need build-essential as it has the developer tools that will be needed to compile various gems. Git is optional, but it doesn’t hurt to have a handy version control system at your disposal.

sudo apt-get install ruby1.9.2-full build-essential git-core

Step 3: Install RubyGems 1.8.15

Ubuntu is a few versions behind on their offical RubyGems package. So rather than using that we’ll use the RubyGems installation method here. You’ll download version 1.8.15 of RubyGems, unzip it, and then run the setup.rb program to install it.

Step 4: Update RubyGems

Once you have RubyGems installed, you want to double-check to make sure you have the latest version of the RubyGems software and then update all gems, if you have any installed.

Step 5: Install everything else

Now that you have RubyGems installed, it’s time to install Rails and the rest of the gang. One of the common issues I’ve run into when installing Rails is that I’d get compile errors when installing MySQL or SQLite. We’ll address that by installing the the right Ubuntu packages. I’ve also run into the occasional error when running commands to generate new models, controllers, etc. We’ll fix that by installing node.js as the JavaScript framework.

Step 6: Test Drive

If you installation worked, Rails should create your application file/folder structure and generate a User model all without a single error.

Pros

Rediffmail offers you a storage space of 1 GB. It gives you the facility to send 20 attachments at a time with the total mail size upto 10 MB.
You can send SMS right from Rediffmail straight to any mobile phone in India or USA.

Cons

Site is under maintenance half of the time which annoys rediff users when they have important mails to read or send
Site takes ages to load even on classic version.
Mails stored in my folders refuse to open or takes ages to load.
You have to upgrade to rediffmail pro to experience self proclaimed better features of rediff.

These are just a few points on rediffmail there are many more which i haven't discussed, rediff mail users where so annoyed, they started to raise complaints against them on Consumer forums, which shows the quality of service they are providing. i would never recommend anyone to use rediff unless rediff fixes all its issues and provides a quality email service like Gmail or Yahoo.

Installing Windows | XP

Important Information

Before the install/reinstallation of Windows XP, I highly recommend that you download Service Pack 3 “for multiple computers”and burn it onto a CD. The download is approximately 316.4MB. If you choose not to do this step, your system could become infected with a virus or worm exploiting the vulnerabilities that Service Pack 3 fixes. I also recommend that you do NOT have your system connected to the Internet until after the installation of Service Pack 3. This means that you cannot activate your XP installation during setup, but you can accomplish that task following a reboot after Service Pack 3 is installed.

1. Insert the Bootable winxp disc and make sure your first boot device is set to CD/DVD drive, once CD start to run you will prompted to press any key to boot from CD/DVD now press enter.

2.After configuring the system for booting from a CD, the Windows Setup screen appears,At this point Setup is loading the driver files it needs to continue with installation.

3. The “Welcome to Setup” screen appears with the option of Continuing Setup, Repair a previous installation, or Quitting,Press ENTER to Continue Setup.You may also choose R to Repair, or F3 to Quit and reboot the system.

4.The “Windows XP Licensing Agreement” screen, otherwise known as “EULA,” displays the legal in’s and out’s of this particular software package,You may press F8 to signify that you agree with the terms, hit ESC if you do not agree and PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN to scroll through each screen. Note: If you do not agree to the terms, setup will quit and reboot the system.

5.Hard drive partition information is now displayed. This varies with each systems hardware configuration.This example already has a partition defined. I will choose not to use this and create a new one by pressing D.You may skip this and the next few steps if you do not have any partitions defined.At this point, the options include pressing ENTER to Install on the selected partition, D to Delete the selected partition, or F3 to Quit and reboot the system.

6. After pressing D to delete the selected partition, a warning screen appears explaining the pitfalls of deleting it. This particular screen only appears when the partition selected to be deleted is formatted as a bootable system partition. Other partitions will display the next screen.I want this to happen, so I press ENTER to continue.The options include pressing ENTER to continue, or ESC to Cancel.

7. A confirmation screen that displays the logical drive, what file system the partition is currently using, the size in MB and controller information.Options include L to Delete the partition and ESC to Cancel the action.

8. If no partitions have been previously defined, this screen will be displayed. You may section your hard drive in as many partitions as you wish by selecting C to Create a Partition and then entering in a value less then the total available. Here, I will Create a Partition in the highlighted, unused portion.Select the partition you wish to install to using the UP arrow and DOWN ARROW keys.Press ENTER to use the highlighted partition and Install, C to Create a Partition, or F3 to Quit and reboot the system.

9. Enter in the partition size in MB within the displayed minimum and maximum. I chose the default or maximum available here.You may choose ENTER to Create the new partition or ESC to Cancel the action.

10. Continue to create partitions until all space is used or the configuration meets your requirements.Note: a small portion will be unavailable to partition. This is normal. In this example, it is 2 MB.I chose drive C: or Partition1 to install the Operating System.You may choose ENTER to Install to the selected partition, D to Delete the highlighted Partition, or F3 to Quit and reboot the system.

11. Since this OS supports NTFS, format the partition with it. If you do not, many folder and file security features will be unavailable. Note: If you are dual booting your system, a previous OS will not be able to read the local information. This is a fact with Windows 9x and Me. If you have a requirement to view this partition from another OS installed on the system, do not format it as NTFS. Also, the boot partition must be formatted with FAT32 if you wish to dual boot. I have found no problems accessing a NTFS partition mapped as a network drive from an older OS.Select what format you wish to use by pressing the UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW keys.Press ENTER to confirm your selection and Continue or ESC to Cancel.

12. Watch the progress bar as Setup formats the partition, or get up and get a soda. It may take a while.

13. Setup is now figuring out what files to copy over to the hard drive.

14. After the partition is finished formatting, Setup copies various files to support booting from the hard drive and continue on.

15. Setup then creates various information files required to continue on with setup.

16. The first reboot and the end of the blue background has arrived. If you are impatient, press ENTER to Restart before the 15 seconds expire.ENTER to Restart the Computer is the only option available.

17. The new Windows XP boot screen is displayed.

18. If you have installed Windows before, this type of screen will look familiar,Sit back It may be awhile.

19. A little while later, you will be prompted with options of configuring your Region and Input Languages. The default was fine for me, so I selected Next,Options include Customize button, Details Button, plus the standard Back and Next.

20. Enter in your Name and optional Organization information, then select the Next button.

21. Thought you could get away from it? Think againEnter your unique 25 digit Product Key that came with your CD, then select the Next button.

22. The “suggested” name for the computer is always really whacked out. Choose one that meets your needs.Enter an Administrator Password now. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you keep this information safe and remember what it is! “01Pa$$word” is not a good choice. Think of something secure and never lose or forget it.

23.Configure the proper information for the Date, Time and Time Zone here.

24.Wait here while the Network is installing. You could read all the marketing dribble.

25.The Network Settings Dialog is next. Under usual circumstances, the Typical settings are fine, but I never choose them so I can poke around under the hood. I selected Custom settings here.Choose your method and select the Next button.

26. In the Custom settings, many options are abound. I cannot go into all of them here, but I will hit on the high points.

27. QoS Packet Scheduler is not required unless your network uses it.For this system, I will choose to uncheck it.

28. TCP/IP Properties contains the standard options. Adjust them for your particular needs as required. For now, I kept the default settings. Basically, it is using DHCP to configure TCP/IP. If you are using a static IP address, enter in the proper information here,Select the Advanced button to further configure your TCP/IP options.

29.Workgroup or Computer Domain, that is the question. I am not going to set up this system to connect to a domain controller, so I will place it as a member of a workgroup,Please, change “WORKGROUP” to something else.Select the Next button after making your choice.

30. The system will reboot after all files have been copied over to the install partition. Now may be a good time to take a break. It may be awhile.

31. The moment we have been waiting for, Windows XP Professional is starting up “for the first time.” Remember that quoted statement with Windows 95 setup?

32. Windows XP no longer likes the “default” resolution of 640 x 480 and prompts you of that fact.Select OK to continue.

33. 800 x 600 is a wonderful thing, however, I chose to have it time out and return to 640 x 480 for this guide.

34. With the “Welcome” screen, you no longer have to hit the combination of Ctrl+Alt+Delete to login to the Administrator account,You did remember your password, right?!?

35. Please wait while the Administrator account is configured “for the first time.

36. All done you windows xp is now installed. you'll see the following screen. Happy windowing.

Launch Outlook 2007 and right click on the personal folders option and select properties for 'Personal Folders'

Now select Advanced options from personal folders properties popup

After selecting the Advanced options another window pops-up select Change password option from this window

And finally click on the change password option and set desired password leave the current password option blank

Click OK and restart Outlook.

Outlook will now prompt for a password every time you launch it.

Configuring Outlook 2007 | Hotmail

If you are still using Hotmail but would prefer to access your email from a desktop client, then you might be interested to know that Microsoft has released a connector that will allow you to send and receive Hotmail or Office Live Mail through Outlook 2003 or 2007.

This is especially helpful for those of us that maintain a hotmail account but don’t like to ever check it because we don’t use it all that often.

Installation

Make sure that Outlook is closed, and then download and install the Microsoft Office Outlook Connector. Open Outlook and you’ll immediately be prompted with the settings dialog.
Enter in your account details into this screen, and then close the dialog. You’ll be prompted to restart Outlook again.

Once you’ve restarted, you’ll now see your Hotmail account in the list of mail accounts, and you can send/receive to download your messages. If you want to send email with the hotmail account, you’ll notice a new drop-down for Account, which will let you switch the account you are sending the email as.
Hopefully this will save you some of the pain of the slow-loading hotmail website.

1. Enable IMAP in Gmail. Don't forget to click Save Changes when you're done.
2. Open Outlook.
3. For new setups, select Do not upgrade.
4. Click Yes.
5. Enter your display name, email address (including '@gmail.com'), and password. Google Apps users, enter your full email address, e.g. 'username@your_domain.com.'
6. Select the 'Manually configure server settings or additional server types' checkbox.

7.Select Internet E-mail.
8.Settings: name, full email address (including '@gmail.com' or '@your_domain.com')
*In the Account Type dropdown menu, select IMAP. In the 'Incoming server name' section,
enter: imap.gmail.com and in the 'Outgoing server name (SMTP)' section, enter: smtp.gmail.com.
*In the 'User Name' field, give your full Gmail address, including '@gmail.com' or '@your_domain.com.'
* After creating these settings, clicking Next takes you to the end of the setup.

9. In the Tools menu, select Options then Mail Setup. Under 'Email Accounts,' click E-mail Accounts.
10.Select an account, and click Change above the list of accounts. Click More Settings, then the Advanced tab.
*Incoming server must be 993, and must use SSL3 encryption.
*Outgoing server can use 587, TLS4 encryption.

11.Click the Outgoing Server tab. Make sure that 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' is selected. The radio button 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server' should also be selected.

12.Click OK > Next > Finish > Close > OK.
