Thanks for the shout out, Dan. Sorry you didn’t make the event. I actually didn’t try as much as I would’ve liked because I lost a lot of steam due to the heat/lack of available cold beverages/shade. I thought Crepes Bonaparte was an instant hit, the LudoTruck, as well as the Lime Truck, particularly for the foie gras mousse! I actually took a mental note of Jason’s recipe on that so excited to “try” and make it at home. Honestly, I have loved Coolhaus for awhile, but for some reason I was just a little underwhelmed this round. Fry Smith too, as I didn’t think the truffle poutine had any truffles in it, but the cheese curds were sublime.

Great post, Dan! I really wanted to cover this event but couldn’t make it… I’ll be at the LA Times fest this weekend and I hope to experience some of these trucks then

Aw man, this sounds so awesome! I vaguely remember my friend telling me about it, but either way it’s the first time this year I’ve heard about this international food fair. Sucks, I can’t go due to other plans. Trying out the Dutch fries and German bratwurst & sauerkraut really interested me! Next year, next year…

I was looking for a reliable shabu shabu place in San Diego and it seems like the closest place is Santa Ana. Seems like I need to schedule a trip up to Santa Ana and tryout this place for myself based on the photos.
