Our Independence day is on 14th August so the preparation starts from the start of August month. Whole country seems to be in green and white color which are colors of our flag. Whether you see the flags, T-shirts or any other stuff, every thing is in green or white. Whole country seems to enjoying the Independence which we got in year 1947. There are many stalls in every bazaar and road. Each stall has different badges of Pakistan, whether Pakistani flag or Quaid-e-Azam portrait or Allama Iqbal’s portrait. Different style of badges and stickers which kids use to get many and place them on their cloths. Adults use to wear Pakistani flag badges on their shirts and feel proud to celebrate Independence Day. T.V. channel anchors use to wear Pakistani flag badges in these starting fourteen days of August. Many channels and companies change their logos as green and white and give special offers for Independence Day.

Markets, T.V. channels, parks, outdoor places all are full with the celebration of Independence Day. Markets are decorated with lighting and Pakistani flags. T.V. channels show different programs on Independence Day, this year Geo has started a very creative program with the name of ‘Agar Geo Hota’ in which they have concept that if Geo in 1947. They are reading news daily  according to the dates of 1947. I don’t watch T.V. much but glimpse of that program caught my eyes. Other T.V. channels also show different programs, trying to be more creative and beat each other. On Independence Day there are specifically programs on it. Parks are full with people who are mostly in green shirts. Though everyone has their part in celebrating Independence Day.

This time I haven’t seen such a crowd and stalls on the road as I’ve seen in earlier years, maybe the reason is flood in whole country. Many people are busy in providing aid to those Pakistanis which are in real trouble at the moment. I believe this time we need to celebrate our Independence Day by helping those Pakistanis which together became a nation and who are part of this country. Instead of spending money on decorating our houses we should donate that money to victims of flood. There are so many out there who are waiting for help.
