Greetings from Taiwan :) I'm going to be in Taiwan for a week. But will be posting throughout my time here too!

Once upon a time, one beautiful Sunday evening, four fairly young girls decided to eat dinner after church :) They ventured into the neighboring foodie village of Tai Hung/Tin Hau...and the rest is history.

The girls quickly decided on a Japanese omelette rice cafe (even though one little girl, ~~that would be me~~ was having an intense Indian food craving). So over Omerice's famous omelette rice meal (among other delicious yakitori skewer dishes) the girls chuckled and chatted about God, relationships, work, boys, girls and life.

I'm trying really hard to remember what this was.. Ummm..Fried chicken wings stuffed with cheese. Not memorable, I know :/..with words like "fried" and "cheese"...rather lackluster.

Mixed vegetables! I always like to order extra veggies! It was a hearty generous portion, special soy sauce also helped!

FAMOUS OMERICE-Omelette rice mixed w/ eel! It was delicious. Thin egg yolk layer wrapped around a hearty portion of saucy rice and eel! LOVED THIS.

OX TONGUE! I love this..oh so much, you guys have to try this! The texture is crunchy, chewy and juicy!

Cheesy Mussels! :D Looks heavy on the cheese, but definitely not worth getting...again..."cheese" how could it go wrong?

Chicken Soft Bone...another must get at yakitori places! (I ordered all the yakitori dishes...all my faves!)

After the girls shared a delightful and hearty meal at Omerice, the four of them ventured across the street for some good ol' fashioned Hong Kong styled dessert!

The four girls gorged, giggled and gossiped into the night! Twas a great evening with great girl friends! Here's to more delicious meals!

:) I've always heard late is better than never. Which is why, I'm drafting up this post...from a few months back! WHOOPS. Sorry guys!

I like to gamble :) Not hard core- blow all my hard earned money type or extreme gambling addict who needs to call a gambling hotline or anything close to that...however, if say, I happen to be in Las Vegas or Macau..I'm one of those people who wouldn't mind walking around the casino floor ground and checking out the action ;) However...I'm a horrible gambler (which is also why I don't gamble often). I always lose...really. Always....

EXCEPT TODAY!!! :DDDDDD First horse race, ever and first win of the night!! :) Randomly chose a horse's name that I liked. Said horse won (TWICE)...and rest is history... :) Yes. I'm bragging about my win. It's cause it NEVER happens. I happen to be very proud of this minor victory. This is my blog. So, I choose to gloat ;)

Crunchy, HOT potatoes that are fried? You can't really go wrong with this combo! It was the first dish to come out...we all went CRAZY for it.

While others ordered alcoholic beverages, I ordered a HOT piping steamed soy milk. I'm like a granny :) I love this stuff. Soy milk is my favorite drink...and when you heat it up..it gets even better :) Great childhood memories.

OK. I just want to say Mac N Cheese...Always good. Hot, creamy melted cheese. Crispy cheesy crust....MMMM

rigatoni pasta with traditional Italian meat sauce
made with fresh tomato, sirloin, pork and prosciutto -I'm a fan of Italian. And this was very heavy on the meat sauce and tomato-y flavor! Just the way I like it! :)

Spicy Boneless Buffalo Wings -spicy boneless chicken wings tossed in hot sauce
with ranch dressing- It was drenched in hot sauce...that's about it, I didn't particularly like these.


*Fish Tacos & Chicken Tacos (*Not on the menu!) Wish there was more veggies in this. It was decent but not very memorable.


Hand Cut French Fries (with Chilli and Cheese) fresh potatoes fried with rosemary, thyme, garlic and paprika. I didn't try this. But looked REALLY good. I had to save my stomach space for.......

fresh baked amedei chocolate chip cookies served with fresh milk- these were delicious. BIG, thick, and HOT. Tasted delicious. Generous melted chocolate chips, chewy on the inside. LOVED THIS <3 Dipped in the milk...perfect cap for the evening

Great friends, awesome chats, won some money, jie time, and hearty comfort food....would say it was a winning (get it..) evening. I'm one blessed girl. Have a great and blessed week!!

Great music and food blogging today!

I love the group, Integrated Hospitality Management (IHM), who are behind Posto Pubblico, Linguini Fini, and Pizzeria Pubblico! I'm a fan of Linguini Fini (my post) and Posto (located in the heart of SOHO) which did not disappoint! The New York styled Italian eatery was "molto delizioso"- "Very delicious," indeed ;)... It was a great night filled with good conversation (both of us were stuffed by the end) Thanks.

Chicken Skewers (I can't remember the name..but this appetizer can be one to skip, the rest of the meal..AMAZING!

Chicken Francese....MMM Buttery, citrus-y, saucy, and savory. The chicken was tender, juicy and moist! Lemon buttery sauce was heavenly!

Special: Grilled Asparagus & Bacon :) I needed some veggies

Rigatoni Pubblico...The rich ragu sauce was heavy...in the best way! Creamy and thick...HOT, cheesy and definitely warmed up my tummy!

Excellent red wine

Dolci. Saving the best for last....one simply wasn't enough


New York Cheesecake- graham cracker, caramelized HGF pineapple, strawberry pineapple gelato & pinenut tuile Graham cracker crust was 'delizioso', but I like my cheesecake more savory and this was a little too fruity for my taste. But still creamy and thick :)

If I could eat this every day..I would. Flaky, hot, rich/thick crust..powdered sugar sprinkled on top (similar to a churro), soft on the inside...and (OMG) the blueberry gelato was absolutely amazing. It was creamy, rich and the perfect mix of hot fritter and cold ice cream. LOVED THIS.

Being in Hong Kong for 2 years..I started accumulating a small restaurant bucket list :) Kenjo's has always been on my "Must try before I die" list ;) and Sushi Shin, is of no exception. It's the brain child of Kenjo. 3 apprentices originally from Kenjo flew the coop and went and opened Sushi Shin. Confused? Me too...

So, one beautiful Saturday afternoon, my anxious and trembling stomach was fortunate enough to finally cross Sushi Shin off my "try before I die" list! :) (Coming for you HK!) Sushi Shin really is a hidden jewel nestled in the ever, expanding "foodie' haven of Tai Hung. It's a tiny, quaint, and authentic Japanese restaurant (easily missed, if you walk too fast). Lets begin!

Steamed egg soup :) This is my favorite way to start any Japanese meal. The steamed egg dish was layered with lots of fresh veggies, piping hot, and literally melts in your mouth

Lunch set :) There's sweet shrimp (Botan ebi ), sea urchin (uni), and...scallop, was it?? Over a bed of seaweed and steaming hot rice!

I got scallops (moist and sweet), uni (fresh, hearty portion :D), and.....

Im gonna say this is...tuna? ;) It's been a while! My memories are a tad foggy. Whatever. Everything tasted fresh, juicy and perfect.

Otoro.....Fatty tuna is possibly my absolute favorite thing to devour. Otoro is the under-belly part of tuna. The fattiest part of the fish, (which also makes it the most delicious part of the fish). It's fat, juicy, rich and melt in your mouth goodness. Life is amazing.

Miso Soup. Light, cleansing & refreshing. I finished it before I could snap a picture. I'm sure y'all know how it looks like ;)

The meal's not over yet......

Black Sesame Ice Cream. If you know me, well. I'm a creature of habit. Black sesame and actually anything goes hand in hand :) I love this stuff. It's my go to chinese dessert too!

I really wanted to try the "yuzu" flavor...so the waitress was nice enough to bring us a small portion. It was more like a sorbet, refreshing, tangy and light! :) But..black sesame ice cream WINS hands down.


I ended up finishing both black sesame ice cream ( Super glad you don't enjoy sweets)...Hey, their loss, my gain! ;)

A really enjoyable lunch and chat. Thank you :) Sushi Shin has exceptional Japanese food, though at a price. Can't wait to cross Kenjo off my list. I'm coming for ya!

~~Goo~~d, Great friends are rare to come by. Luckily, one of my best friends resides with me ;) I'm talking about you..jie :) Since moving to HK, I've also made some new good friends!

One being....*drum roll please*.... Vivian Lam, yup...I'm talking about you. Viv's an amazing woman. Independent, smart, loving, Godly, caring, and beautiful (to name a few)... It's awesome...our personalities just... click. In Chinese..it would be called "Yuan Fen" "緣分". Wiki's description.

Anyway..let's get to the food! So...one lazy but beautiful Saturday morning, the three of us went out for a lovely brunch filled with girl-y, giggl-y, gossip-y chit chat time :)

Viv is a HUGE foodie..I'm telling you, you need to blog! She has tons of insights on where and what to eat! :) Super thankful for that. Viv knew about this cute cafe tucked away in Sheung Wan...

OH MY...... :) Can you guess which one's mine? You can't tell...but there's VANILLA ICE CREAM nestled inside! Absolutely delicious, sweet and refreshing to boot!

Then we trekked to our "Original" destination, Teakha...since it opens at 12PM..we went to get coffee first...which, I did not mind one bit.

TEAKHA...I've been wanting to try this place!

FRESHLY BAKED...Bread pudding *DROOL* We ordered that ;)

SCONES galore...what an interesting flavor! If only I had two stomachs!

Breakfast Sandwich (I'm more of a savory person..I know..shocking, cause I love sweets too! Life is tough!) Bo-Lo' gne Bakery brioche bread (OMG....) Ham, avocado, red bell peppers, and whipped scrambled eggs. This combo is ridiculously amazing. I can't even explain how good it tasted! The eggs were hot and perfectly scrambled! All the ingredients texture mixes perfectly on a sandwich. MMM MMM good ;)

*Special of the Day* Vanilla Sponge Cake. This was my least favorite. The sponge cake was a tad too sweet! The freshly whipped cream was nice and light, but was just ordinary for me

Bread pudding ;) This was pretty good. But also, feel like I can get this else where!

Teakha is the perfect place for a lazy Saturday or Sunday brunch spot. But be warned..space is very limited. Seating is 12-15 people max. Also, if your really starving and want to eat the moment you get in. I would not recommend coming here! Waiting time for food was a bit lengthy. We waited a good 10-15 minutes just for our teas. I'll still be back though..the breakfast sandwich alone was worth my wait ;)

Viv, hope you have an amazing time on your missions trip. I pray you enjoy, experience and just learn more! Can't wait to hear all about your sure to be life-changing time in Cambodia and more outings when you get back! I'll be praying for you.

Hong Kong restaurants are ridiculously packed. Your always going to be needing a reservation..but in the past month; last minute spurs led to last minute meals. Nonetheless, they all did they trick. No reservations needed :)

I LOVE bread and Vietnamese Baguettes remind me so much of good ol' college days! So this baguette nicely tied me over! I've returned countless times!

3) Casting Days! Late Lunch/Afternoon tea with sister dear who works over in Wan Chai at Time Out Hong Kong!! :) Tai Hing it is...HK style cafes :))))

Char Siu...I could go on and on about this dish. Tai Hing's supposedly the roast specialist, but this was slightly bland and tough to chew

We were still craving something else...so Roasted Goose it was!! This was slightly better, but lacking in flavour and hard! :/

I have been slacking (quite a bit) in the blogging department. However, I do have a ton of material to share with all of you, which i will...*eventually*....and several other EXCITING NEWS that will have to wait...*naturally*! :)

I couldn't fall asleep last night, I'm not sure why. Contemplating, anxious, and stressed about the future? Hmmm..or perhaps it was just the mid-day Starbucks coffee, afternoon nap, or simply insomnia? So, as I lay in bed, quite restless...I finally decided to do something that's been put on the back burner. Write. I journal-ed and then finally decided to blog. But before I did, I felt compelled to re-read a lot of my sister's blog posts. I'm definitely her biggest fan, not that she needs much help... she's one heck of a writer. But as I kept reading further back in time...I got to... 'The Start of a Journey'. Which was dedicated to me when I first moved to Hong Kong. It still resonates with me to this day even though two years have passed. Thanks jie, I needed that.

Lets get to Macau. Why Macau? Well..jie had to leave HK for her working visa. And, because I'm the most cute, awesome, sweet, caring, wonderful (did I mention...cute) baby sister ;) I accompanied her one beautiful Saturday evening!

Veggies. I was barely able to chew this. Much too hard! :(

:) I usually love this stuff. The 'Char siu' was dry. The 'Suckling pigs' skin was perfectly crunchy, but it was all bone :/

My Chinese herbal soup...meh..way too salty

Not going to lie. The meal was sub par (at best)

Jie's Malaysia Curry...Chicken was really tough... Macau..MGM...Square 8. Tsk Tsk Tsk

Not the best decision with Square 8..however, the talk we had was amazing ;) Made everything worth it! Quality jie/ mei heart to heart! <3

One thing...Ladies...watch out when you go to Macau, make sure you always have someone with you....too many creepy old men! Jie, despite you not being very good at 'saving me' ;) I still love you.

She's been in Hong Kong for close to 4 months now. I'm just extremely thankful to have her in my life. I'm a very blessed girl. And, one of the biggest reasons...is her. Thank you for always being there for me. Supporting, motivating, encouraging, pushing and loving me...when I forget to do it for myself. You're always catching me right before I fall. I'm so lucky to be able to call you my jie. I love you.

I'm big on routines. Don't get me wrong...there are times when I'm rash, impulsive and even surprise myself. But for the most part...I'm a creature of habit. Especially with food :)

For example, Cafe O, 'O'll Day Breakfasts (I can eat that for every meal!) Well I just love my breakfast foods...Eggs + Toast. Peanut Butter + Toast. Waffles..all good (OK, I'm just a big fan of bread). Or the way I constantly crave Chicken Tikka Misala (you have to try this...it's a game changer), or the fact I need to get a Steamed Almond Soy Milk from Starbucks :)

Well...Red Mango Froyo is another one of my foodie haunts. It's a much healthier dessert choice! Especially w/ Miss Taylor Richard. Check out her healthy living blog! She's honestly one of the best people I've met in Hong Kong and shes an amazing model over at Starzpeople!

Bread basket! (Saved my life, I was starving! We started eating close to 9pm...that's LATE for me)

Appetizers :) FINALLY

Smoked Salmon w/ Black Pepper Potato Chips and Lemon Creme Fraiche (This was divine. The potato chip was light and crispy. Perfect texture against smoked salmon! Favorite appetizer by far)

VERY CLOSE SECOND. Grilled polenta w/ chicken and mango. This was DIVINE. Tangy, refreshing, and sweet. The polenta was crispy, crunchy and creamy....I do not know how that happened...but i'm glad...

Scaollop Saltimobocca...It was interesting, but my scallop was slightly tough to chew

Black Truffle Cream Soup... (I don't think you can go wrong with black truffle or cream!) It was HOT, creamy and rich! Soothing :)

For my main- I chose the Grilled Seabass w/ Lemon Butter Sauce on a bed of Sauteed Spinach.... Ok :) that description won me over already, but the seabass itself was flavour-less... I didn't really taste any lemon butter sauce.

Yu Jie went for the 'Herb Crusted Lamb on a bed of Mashed potatoes and Vegetable Ratatouille		. GOOD STUFF!

Trio of Chocolate: Chocolate Creme Brulee, Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake, Chocolate Tart. (I was in chocolate heaven!!!!! I had a sampling of each, but my favorite was the chocolate tart. I loved the flaky crust. It practically melted in my mouth!)

Petit Fours...(Stuffed by this point. But, they looked good!)

To accompany our amazing food...were drinks of course. Lots and lots of red wine! It was a great night and we danced the night away ;) CHEERS :D

David Yurman Fashion Show

I love working. I love being busy, and last week I was fortunate enough to walk in the David Yurman Fashion Show!!! :) I was sooooo nervous before the show. But thankfully everything went smoothly (I did not trip or fall flat on my face...whew) AND I had a blast! Best of all, I got to work with Yu Jie!! :) She always calms me. THANK YOU! I love you. Life is good.

My aunt is one of the best cooks I know...so the night before the show, I went over for dinner...and my favorite PERUVIAN dish was being made...Frijoles (red beans) soaked in pork belly, bacon, tomato, and MORE red beans sauce!!! So I had that for dinner (before the show), breakfast, and lunch leading up to the show!! It's super healthy and gave me plenty of energy!! :)

Frijoles......red beans/pork/bacon...Oh my! Yes, please. It's delicious. I dont know what else to say.

Citrus-y onion mix!! Cilantro..lots of it! YUM!!! :D

I've been a lot more busy these days! :) One beautiful Sunday, I partook in a makeup demo with my dear friend Siena Tsang, spent an awesome afternoon at church, and enjoyed a lovely dinner and chat with jie.

It was my first time at SML, Iv'e always seen this place every time I go to Times Square, but FINALLY I got to try it. It's quite a cute concept. Large variety of food choices, you pick the size you want. Small, medium or large.

Siena (multi talented Model & makeup artist!)

Medium Mediterranean Fish Soup w/ Garlic Mayonnaise & Croutons for moi-
Small soup for jie! Plain, watered down...jie says "WAY TOO SALTY"...Hmmmm, not a good start.

Medium Coriander Crusted Seared Tuna w/ Vegetable Salsa, Sake & Soy Dressing

....it was not a salad, there wasn't ANY veggies. But the tuna was good!

Medium- Grilled Cod w/ Miso & Pickled Vegetable! The cod was alright, but the green's were GREAT!

Pork Tenderloin w/ Rich Tomato Sauce, Olives & Mozzarella Cheese- Cheesy-licious! Pork tenderloin was a bit rough

Small Mac n Cheese...Tasted like the Kraft Mac N Cheese from a box! Not good...

Crispy Pork Belly w/ Red Cabbage & Apple Coleslaw (You can't really tell what that is. Crispy, juicy and salty!)

Fine..pork belly. YOU were good :)

Overall, everything just tasted average(that's never good!) I kept ordering more food, because I wanted to taste something, ~~anything~~ better.... perhaps I had just ordered wrong but SML, I really had much higher expectations for you. I was fairly disappointed with the outcome. Guess it's time to close the book on this one. At least I'll never have to wonder every time I walk by it in Times Square now ;)

If you know me. Then you know I love all types of cuisines. And, well this past month I've had the STRONGEST Indian food craving (it's still there!)...Lo and behold, I had a job coming up, so I did not give into this craving. But I did give into another craving...Thai :)

Pomelo Salad. Sweet, hint of salty-ness, but all REFRESHING!

Crying pig.... :DDDD i love pork. It's my favorite meat/protein (other than eggs!)

Fried egg pancakes!!! Oysters, bean sprouts and eggs!! :) Very oily..but hey..NOT as bad as curry would have been ;)

Dessert- THAI ICED TEA :) I looooove this

It's not a grand meal by any means. But the food was hearty, reasonably priced and my tummy was satisfied :) This plaza has a ton of other restaurants. Next time I'm in Causeway Bay, I'll be sure to check them out!

My lovely sister, the media maid...has an awesome new job in... HK, no less! I'm so happy and beyond proud of you, jie. I have yet to congratulate her on this rather challenging feat. Sorry! For the lack of material..I actually have tons of food posts coming up!! Promise! Stay tuned! Anyway, jie's the newest Social Media Editor and Feature Writer (quite a mouthful) at Time Out Hong Kong!!!

Challenging? Oh yes. She came from LA with nothing planned 3 months ago~~. No job,~~ no meetings, interviews, nor plans. And, in under 2 months she was given the chance to do what she truly loves. (Read her blog. She's an amazing writer.) Time Out HK, thank you SO much for hiring her and giving her this opportunity. I couldn't stand her being home all the time. I kid, I kid, jie! You know i miss you. Every. Single. Day ;)

Ok...before I stray some more...we went to celebrate her new position at 1/5 Nuevo on Start Street in Wan Chai. Star Street is becoming a really hip eatery area!

NOPE! It's my seafood Gazpacho- tangy, refreshing and cold! Good start to clean my palette..

Sauteed Mushrooms. Perfectly drenched in olive oil!

Smoked Salmon/Seabass...citrus-y and gosh. you can't go wrong with smoked salmon.

Grilled Iberico pork belly and beans....need I say more!? :)

BREAD! YUMMY HOT AND FRESH! Crispy on the outside, soft and dough-y on the inside!

Potato Brava neuvo-chorizo... Scrambled eggs and potatoes. I LOVE this place.

Churros ~ Lemon Sherbet~ Hot Chocolate Molten Cake :)

1/5 Nuevo made me a really happy girl. Food was great! Service was excellent. Our waiter must have filled my water cup 8-10 times (without me asking!) I drink a ton of water....and he passed!VERY satisfying meal with the one person I will share my LONGEST RELATIONSHIP with, EVER. (Let that sink in.) Think about it. Your sibling?!? They're stuck with you, for better or for worse. Luckily, I'm very fond of this one.

I miss my old house mate. I've been spoiled before...I'm used to seeing her from morning to night...but ever since moving out...I don't get to see her as often as I'd like. However, every time I do get the opportunity to see her. I know we'll have a blast. And, fortunately for me, and her (you know you love me) ;) I still get to see her plenty...(see you after my casting today ;) Yu Jie!!) Love you.

One sunny afternoon, we ventured over to IFC for afternoon tea; over a hearty meal full of laughter, chatter, and well, an awesome catch up session!

Sis and I ventured over to the Sheung Wan Cooked Food Market (when you first walk in, there's stalls of different cusines...Indian, Thai, Chinese, Cantonese, even...Italian. ABC Kitchen, I will return for you) the other day for lunch!! Want to try the other stalls!

Indian-Garlic Naan for me!! Hot and heavy on the garlic. Just the way I like it! ( I didn't have much of my rice...I'm a bread person)

Great for a fast, east, cheap meal! I'll be back! But, be warned. During peak lunch/dinner hours...steer clear!! :)

I love working. The rush of finding out I have a new job. What do I have to do? What type of events, I actually love going to castings. That's my favorite part. It's definitely a very difficult and tiring industry but for the most part...I'm in love.

So, when I know work is a coming..I try to eat lighter and healthier :) and for the most part, I do!

The infamous Tsui Wah :) I love this HK 茶餐廳 “Cha Chan Teng” OR HK style food cafe.

Fast, comforting, and relatively cheap(er) than most! I've been here tons of time...but the first time I actually remembered to snap pictures and since I started this blog a lil' over a month ago!

I went to Marek Art of Hair for a hair touch up! (Thank you Keith and everyone over at Marek!) :) We were starving by the time we finished..and all we wanted was TSUI WAH, and luckily for us starving girls... it was right across the street.

FINAL PRODUCT-> Bangs, Trim, and LIGHTER! :) Thanks Keith!

We were seated right when we got in. My dish came in under two minutes....questionable?? ;) I think so

Makeup free!! :) Gotta rest the skin once in a while!!

Pork Cartilage...... :) I LOVEEEE THIS STUFF. It's my absolute favorite.

Juicy....tender, MEATY! :) I was craving protein. Lots of it. Greasy though. Don't worry, I didn't finish it all!

Iced Organic Kale..dipped in soy sauce & wasabi (kale-shimi?) ;)

Mixed sauteed vegetables over rice! I just stole some of the mushroom...REALLY oily.

It's not HEALTHY by any standards. Most people hit up this Tsui Wah after a night of partying/ clubbing in Lan Kwai Fang :) But once in a while....Tsui Wah really hits the spot! This time, it did just that.

What do you get from Tsui Wah? Any other HK style cafes I should try out?
