Funky DL | Jazzmatic 3 (Funky DL Remixes Nas) [2022]

2022-08-17T09:16:00.002-05:00

Jazzmatic 3 (Funky DL Remixes Nas) by Funky DL

The Announcer steps on stage and the audience vigorously applauds... Once this subsides, the Announcer simply states the following...

"May I bring to the microphone now, a man who, in the lyrics of the songs he writes, probably more successfully than any other songwriter, incorporates the jazz rhythms and the speech idioms of the American language..."

After further applause, Funky DL then plays two chords on the piano and the beat drops to introduce Nas to the stage for his Jazzmatic performance of "Wave Gods" with A$AP Rocky & DJ Premier on the cuts.

8 years after the second volume and in true Funky DL style, "Jazzmatic 3" has finally arrived. The set is smooth, soulful and sophisticated, as it effortlessly floats through the 11-tracks, showcasing Funky DL's stylish compositions and Nas' lyrical charm. The two together are as debonair as the best of them.

Funky DL's love for Jazz is evident and completely unapologetic, whilst Nasir Jones pulls no punches on the microphone, combining their talents to produce this impeccable and truly loved New York Boom-Bap sound.

The album download also comes with a PDF booklet, where Funky DL provides a track-by-track descriptive of his creative approach in the making of Jazzmatic 3.

Ridiculous Rituals by INFINITE AZIZ

“A Ridiculous Ritual may simply be the everyday routine of life that we partake in, with the Clock acting as the de facto Meter, always reminding us that Time is the universal currency.

Or, is it the routine of constantly lying to one’s self that things will change, while refusing to change the Ridiculous Rituals that got you praying for change in the first place?”
