The river has long been a legend in Peru, but when geoscientist Andrés Ruzo's heard about it, he thought such a phenomenon was impossible.

He believed that it would require a huge amount of geothermal heat to boil even a small river, and the Amazon basin is far from any active volcanoes.

But then, Ruzo saw the legendary boiling river with his own eyes.

Ruzo first heard about the Mayantuyacu river when his grandfather told him a story about how Spanish conquistadors killed the last Inca emperor.

The story goes that after the murder, the Spanish conquistador headed into the Amazon rainforest in search of gold.

When they returned, the men spoke of a terrifying experience that involved poisoned water, man-eating snakes and a river that boils from below.

Twelve years later, at a family dinner, Ruzo heard the river mentioned again when his aunt said that she had visited it.

As a PhD student in geophysics at Southern Methodist University, Ruzo wanted to find the river for himself.

'I began asking that question. Could the boiling river exist?, Ruzo said in Ted Talk.

'I asked colleagues from universities, the government, oil, gas and mining companies, and the answer was a unanimous no.

'And this makes sense. You see, boiling rivers do exist in the world, but they're generally associated with volcanoes. You need a powerful heat source to produce such a large geothermal manifestation.

'Telling this same story at a family dinner, my aunt tells me, 'But no, Andrés, I've been there. I've swum in that river.'

Despite his skepticism, Runzo found myself hiking into the jungle in 2011, guided by his aunt, far from the he nearest volcanic center.

He said he was mentally preparing to behold the legendary 'warm stream of the Amazon - but what he saw was very different.

Runzo discovered a four mile 'boiling river' in the sacred geothermal healing site of the Asháninka people in Mayantuyacu.

At its widest, it is 82ft (25 metres), and around 20ft (six metres) deep. The water is hot enough to brew tea, according to a report in Gizmodo, and in some parts, it boils over.

'Dipping my hand into the river would give me third-degree burns in less than half a second,' Ruzo told Ted.com 'Falling in could easily kill me.'

The river boils because of fault-fed hot springs.

'As we have hot blood running through our veins and arteries, so, too, the Earth has hot water running through its cracks and faults,' Runzo explained in a Ted speech.

'Where these arteries come to the surface, these earth arteries, we'll get geothermal manifestations: fumaroles, hot springs and in our case, the boiling river.

Parts of the river are so hot that any animals that falls in boils instantly.

'I've seen all sorts of animals fall in, and what's shocking to me, is the process is pretty much the same,' said Runzo.

'So they fall in and the first thing to go are the eyes. Eyes, apparently, cook very quickly. They turn this milky-white color. The stream is carrying them.

'They're trying to swim out, but their meat is cooking on the bone because it's so hot. So they're losing power, losing power, until finally they get to a point where hot water goes into their mouths and they cook from the inside out.'

For some reason, the river has escaped scientific scrutiny. But Ruzo is on a mission to change that.

He has published a book, 'The Boiling River: Adventure and Discovery in the Amazon,' that publicises the river for the first time.

Ruzo's is now trying to save the boiling river. The surrounding forest has been destroyed by logging practices, and if action isn't taken, the area could vanish entirely.

'In the middle of my PhD, I realized, this river is a natural wonder,' Ruzo told Gizmodo. 'And it's not going to be around unless we do something about it.'

Alexander Litvinenko claimed that Vladimir Putin had been caught on camera having sex with young boys, according to the inquiry into the spy's murder.

When the future Russian president was a student, he was filmed abusing children in a flat where another top Russian politician, Yuri Skuratov, had a threesome with prostitutes, Litvinenko wrote in a sensational web post.

The wild claim is recorded in Sir Robert Owen's inquiry report as part of a long list of allegations made by the assassinated spy against Mr Putin after he fled Russia and settled in Britain.Litvinenko made the accusation after the president was pictured kissing the stomach of a five-year-old boy during a walkabout in the Kremlin in June 2006.

Mr Putin's encounter with the five-year-old boy a few months earlier made global headlines, as the Russian president insisted it was nothing more than a gesture of affection.

'People came up and I began talking to them, among them this little boy,' Mr Putin said afterwards. 'He seemed to me very independent, sure of himself and at the same time defenceless so to speak, an innocent boy and a very nice little boy.

'I tell you honestly, I just wanted to stroke him like a kitten and it came out in this gesture. There is nothing behind it.'

The child, named by Russian media as Nikita Konkin, said that he had refused to wash after Mr Putin had kissed his stomach.

'I just liked him and he liked me very much,' Nikita said. 'I want to be president myself.'

The inquiry report describes how the dissident claimed Mr Putin was a 'paedophile', adding that videos existed of him 'making sex with some underage boys'.

Litvinenko said that Mr Putin destroyed the footage, which allegedly saw him sent away from Russia for a while when he was a student, after becoming head of the FSB secret service.

After graduating from the Andropov Institute, which prepares officers for the KGB intelligence service, Putin was not accepted into the foreign intelligence. Instead, he was sent to a junior position in KGB Leningrad Directorate.

'This was a very unusual twist for a career of an Andropov Institute's graduate with fluent German. Why did that happen with Putin?

'Because, shortly before his graduation, his bosses learned that Putin was a pedophile [sic]. So say some people who knew Putin as a student at the Institute.

'Many years later, when Putin became the FSB director and was preparing for the presidency, he began to seek and destroy any compromising materials collected against him by the secret services over earlier years. It was not difficult, provided he himself was the FSB director.

The Kremlin has never commented directly on the allegations made by Litvinenko, but yesterday the Russian government dismissed the whole inquiry report as 'Western propaganda'.

Giving evidence to the inquiry last year, Litvinenko's widow Marina said she had 'no idea' whether or not the paedophile claims were true.

Sir Robert concluded that Mr Putin had 'probably' approved the dissident's assassination himself, along with the current head of the FSB.

Litvinenko died in November 2006 after drinking tea laced with radioactive polonium during a meeting with Andrei Lugovoi and Dmitri Kovtun at a London hotel.

Meanwhile, Boris Johnson has condemned the state-sponsored assassination of Alexander Litvinenko, branding the murder "horrific".

The London Mayor said there should be the "strongest possible diplomatic response" against those behind the killing.

His comments come after a public inquiry found that the radioactive poisoning of the former KGB officer in 2006 was "probably" sanctioned by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Woman who gave birth to 18 children says she's pregnant again

The parents of Britain's biggest family have announced they are expecting their 19th child, and they are still not claiming a penny in benefits.

Sue and Noel Radford celebrated the birth of daughter Hallie in June, but now Mrs Radford, 40, from Morcambe, Lancashire, is pregnant again, with the baby due in July.

The Radfords, who run a successful bakery business and do not claim any state benefits said the pregnancy had been a surprise, but they are excited to add to their huge brood.

Writing on their Facebook page, the family said: 'We are so thrilled to announce our precious new addition to the family who will be joining us in July.'

When Hallie, now eight months, was born last summer the Radfords said that they were not planning on having any more children, but would 'leave it up to nature'. 'It has come as a huge surprise,' Mrs Radford told The Sun. 'We were adamant that we wouldn’t have more. But it is a brilliant start to the New Year.'

The family, who rose to fame on Channel 4 documentary series 16 Kids And Counting, live in a ten-bedroom converted care home and believe that they spend around £30,000 a year of their own money bringing up their children.

They spend around £300 a week on groceries, and every day the family gets through two boxes of cereal and 18 pints of milk. When it comes to celebrating their children's birthdays they have a budget of £100 for presents, while at Christmas they set aside between £100 to £250.

The family also have a holiday abroad each year, but are fiercely proud of the fact that they do not claim state handouts and instead support themselves with the bakery business, run by Mr Radford, 45.

Writing on their website, the couple said their other children were thrilled with the prospect of a new baby brother or sister.

'We announced our news to the children last week after having a brilliant scan, we decided to put the scan photo on the fireplace and sit back and watch to see who noticed it first,' they said.

'Well it really didn’t take long. Tillie spotted it first and said "ohhhh who’s that?" with a big grin on her face.

'We said "who do you think it is?". She said "I need to go get Millie" so she ran to get her and came back in, closely followed by the rest of the children.

'The reaction was so funny they are so excited. We did want to keep it a secret for a little while longer but the children have been so excited and sharing the news so we decided it was time to share it with you all.' The announcement of the pregnancy comes just a few weeks after the couple's second eldest child, Sophie, 22, welcomed her third child, a boy called Leo on Christmas Eve.

Sophie, who married husband Joe last year also helps out with the family business.

Mr and Mrs Radford were childhood sweethearts and she fell pregnant with her first child, eldest son Chris, 27, when she was just 14. The couple were determined to keep the baby as they had both been adopted at birth.

They have never looked back and very few years have gone by when Mrs Radford hasn't been expecting.

Hallie's arrival was tinged with sadness for the couple however, as it came less than a year after they lost their 17th child, a boy named Alfie, 23 weeks into Mrs Radford's pregnancy.

Mrs Radford said that as a result of the loss her pregnancies with Hallie and the latest baby were being closely monitored. She added that they have had the 12-week scan, adding that the new arrival was 'doing brilliantly'.

They have never looked back and very few years have gone by when she hasn't been expecting.

The couple say they originally planned on having three children, but they loved the experience so much that they simply kept going.

But at the heart of this is a desire to bring up children in a family not bankrolled by the state.

Speaking last year, Mrs Radford said: 'It's important that our children see us working. When they're old enough, they go out to work themselves. 'Big families will always be tarred with the same brush. People will say "They must be on benefits", but there are lots of very hard-working large families who support themselves.'

After an early start in the bakery, Mr Radford returns home every day at 7.45am to sort out the children and get them to nursery at school.

All their uniforms are washed and laid out the night before, while breakfast is staggered into two shifts.

Six of the children are at the same primary school ten minutes away and five are at secondary school. Noel drives them in a minibus which, as it carries more than nine passengers, is entitled to use bus lanes.

Meanwhile, the three youngest, Oscar, Caspar and Hallie, remain at home with Sue, though Oscar goes to nursery in the afternoons.

The family do between six and 12 loads of washing a day, get through 30 bottles of washing liquid every month and use four toilet rolls a day.

Incredibly they manage to feed the family on £250 a week, feeding them all pasta or a large stew using deals with their local butcher and greengrocer.

Bathtime at home begins around 6pm and while the younger ones will be bathed and in bed by about 7pm, the older ones stay up until 9pm. Mr and Mrs Radford say they are in bed by 10pm.

Mexican drug lord, El Chapo re-arrested 6 months after jail break

World's most notorious drug lord, Joaquin El Chapo Guzmán who escaped from a maximum security prison in Mexico six months ago, has been re-arrested and detained by the Mexican government. His audacious escape from prison last July saw him dash through a mile-long tunnel system which led to a building under construction next to the prison - from where he collected clothes left for him by his conspirators.

Shortly before El Chapo was re-arrested a certain actor named Sean Penn had visited him at his hideout in the jungle to ask him a handful of Hollywood-worthy questions such as 'do you dream?' and 'how would you define yourself?'

And then just hours after the Sinaloa cartel leader was detained by Mexican marines, the Rolling Stone published a lyrical 10,000-word account of their meeting.

The sensational meeting between Penn and El Chapo took place deep in the Mexican jungle in October and was arranged by Penn, Mexican actress Kate del Castillo and a fixer, with the permission of the Sinaloa cartel.

El Chapo admitted in the bizarre interview to being the biggest drug trafficker in the world and said he sent engineers to Germany to learn how to build the tunnel he would eventually use to escape a maximum security prison.

In an article written by Penn for Rolling Stone, El Chapo says: 'I supply more heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana than anybody else in the world. I have a fleet of submarines, airplanes, trucks and boats.'

Penn's sensational interview for Rolling Stone almost saw the world's most wanted drug lord captured in October - just days after he met Penn - but a raid had to be aborted because El Chapo was with two women and a child.

The cartel boss was eventually captured on Friday in a daring 4am raid by Mexican marines and was returned to Altiplano jail. The double Oscar-winning actor's meeting with El Chapo led to the gun battle in which he was captured, an official said. The Mexican Army intelligence unit intercepted electronic communications between Penn and El Chapo closed the Mexican military's net and led to an aborted raid days later. It was called off because the wanted man was in the company of two women and a child.

The double Oscar-winning actor and del Castillo - who had been in direct contact with El Chapo after his escape from the Altiplano jail - are now under investigation by the Mexican authorities.

The U.S. has filed at least seven extradition requests in six different states for Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman to be extradited but justice officials warned that his lawyers were likely to 'milk it' by firing off different appeals at different stages of the extradition battle to prolong the legal tussle.

While Penn did not tell the authorities of El Chapo's whereabouts, his extraordinary interview led Mexican marines to his location.

El Chapo was caught after contacting actors and directors about making a Narcos-style biopic about his life, Mexican officials said. It is not clear whether Penn was contacted about the movie.

Graphic photographs taken inside the kingpin's compound show bodies strewn across the blood-stained floor following the 4am firefight on Friday.

Five of the notorious Sinaloa cartel were slain by marines and six were arrested, but El Chapo made another of his infamous escapes, slipping out through a sewer system with his right-hand man El Cholo Ivan.

Hours later they were both detained at a nearby motel in the town of Los Mochis and El Chapo has been returned to the same maximum security prison he fled from six months ago.

Locals in the seaside town said no one had been living in the gated, heavily guarded property until the night before the gun battle, when a black pickup truck arrived outside the two-story home. The bloody pictures appeared to show all five of the drug baron's lieutenants who were killed in the gun battle with Mexican marines on Friday.

All of the dead are seen lying in pools of blood next to heavy machine guns used to fight off the military as El Chapo slipped out through a drainage system, only to be captured hours later.

A vast arsenal of weapons was seized, including loaded rocket launchers, rifles, semi-automatic weapons, grenades and armored vehicles.

Despite the huge cache of firearms, only one marine was hurt and did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

El Chapo managed to escape Friday morning's raid at the compound on Friday morning with his most-trusted hitman known as El Cholo, but were caught hours later by federal police officers as they tried to flee north after stealing a car.

While waiting for back-up, the cops took the two men to sex motel, where El Chapo was handcuffed to a bed, The Guardian reported.

In a room that costs 300 pesos ($16.72) for six hours, he was detained on a satin bedspread, with sex toys and lubricants sat on a bedside table.

Margaret Thatcher attempted to block an AIDS public information campaign because she feared teaching children about ‘risky sex’ would corrupt them, according to previously secret files.

The then Prime Minister warned that plans to educate the country to stem the spread of the syndrome could instead cause ‘immense harm’ to impressionable young minds.

It was only after her aides warned her that the country was facing an epidemic and that she did not have the support of the Cabinet that she backed down.

Horrified by then health secretary Norman Fowler’s proposal for a newspaper advertising campaign about safe sex, Mrs Thatcher scrawled on the memo: ‘Do we have to do the section on risky sex?’

‘I should have thought it could do immense harm if young teenagers were to read it.’

Her remarks were discovered in files released yesterday under the former 30-year rule by the National Archives at Kew, west London.

She suggested the advert could even breach the Obscene Publications Act and proposed a more limited campaign based on previous public information campaigns on venereal disease.

‘I think the anxiety on the part of parents and many teenagers who would never be in danger from AIDS, exceeds the good it may do,’ she wrote.

‘It would be better in my view to follow the ‘VD’ precedent of putting notices in surgeries, public lavatories etc.

‘But adverts where every young person will read and hear of practices they never knew about will do harm.’

Mr Fowler stood up to her, stating that the advert would lose ‘all its medical authority and credibility’ unless the advice was included.

‘Given that there is no vaccine and no cure, the only option open is public education,’ he stated.

‘No one is condoning these practices - quite the contrary; but they exist and are one of the ways by which AIDS spreads.’

The first case of AIDS in the UK was recorded in 1981 and by 1986 there was growing public awareness of the spread of the disease for which there was then no known treatment.

She was warned that the incurable syndrome could spread to hundreds of thousands of people unless those at risk changed their practices.

Mrs Thatcher eventually backed down when Deputy Prime Minister William Whitelaw told her there was no support for her objections among other ministers.

But she refused to sanction information leaflets being sent to every home in the country.

The cabinet secretary, Sir Robert Armstrong, warned that while there had only been 512 cases so far in the UK, experts estimated that 25,000 people with the disease could be unaware.

‘If there is no change in habits and practices, particularly but not exclusively among those currently most at risk (homosexual and bisexual men and drug misusers), there could at the end of five years be half a million infected carriers of whom a substantial number would subsequently develop the disease; and that is a sober estimate,’ he wrote.

Her press secretary Bernard Ingham added: ‘There is certainly a feeling abroad that the Government is doing too little and is not treating the issue with sufficient urgency.

‘There is also a feeling that the Prime Minister is acting as a brake on educational publicity.’

Nigerian professor solves 156-yr-old Riemann Hypothesis to scoop $1 million prize

One of the most important problems in mathematics - the Riemann Hypothesis - has finally been solved by a Nigerian professor.

Dr Opeyemi Enoch said he made a key breakthrough in 2010 which later enabled him to solve the puzzle, which is one of the seven Millennium Problems in Mathematics.

These seven puzzles were set by The Clay Mathematics Institute in 2000 and the organisation has now rewarded Dr Enoch with a $1 million (£658,000) prize for his discovery.

The Riemann Hypothesis was proposed by mathematician Bernard Riemann in 1859 and concerns the distribution of prime numbers.

It has become arguably the most famous problem in mathematics, since Fermat's Last Theorem was solved in the 1990s.

At its most simple, the distribution of prime numbers among all others doesn't follow a regular pattern.

However, Riemann noticed that the frequency of prime numbers is very closely related to the behaviour of an elaborate function called the Riemann Zeta function.

The hypothesis asserts that all solutions of the equation ζ(s) = 0 lies on a certain vertical straight line, according to the Clay Mathematics Institute.

While this has been checked for the first 10,000,000,000 solutions, it is only now that a proof explaining their distribution beyond this has been found.

The Riemann Hypothesis was proposed by mathematician Bernard Riemann in 1859 (his working is pictured) and concerns the distribution of prime numbers. It has become arguably the most famous problem in mathematics, since Fermat's Last Theorem was solved in the 1990sr Enoch, who teaches at the Federal University of Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) in Nigeria, said he was motivated to solve the 156-year-old problem because of his students.

He told the BBC that they wanted him to make money from the internet.

'The motivation was because my students trusted that the solution could come from me - not because the financial reward and that was why I started trying to solve the problem in the first place,' he said.

THE MILLENNIUM PRIZE PROBLEMS

The Millennium Prize Problems were launched on 24 May, 2000.

They include seven problems considered by the Clay Mathematics Institute to be 'important classic questions that have resisted solution over the years'.

These include: P versus NP, The Hodge conjecture, The Poincaré conjecture, The Riemann hypothesis, Yang–Mills existence and mass gap, Navier–Stokes existence and smoothness and The Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture.

The first person to solve each of the problems will receive $1 million (£658,000).

The professor presented his proof on 11 November during the International Conference on Mathematics and Computer Science in Vienna, Nigerian news site Vanguard reported.

A statement from the university said that having started investigating the problem, Dr Enoch 'went on to consider and to correct the misconceptions that were communicated by mathematicians in the past generations, thus paving way for his solutions and proofs to be established.

'He also showed how other problems of this kind can be formulated and obtained the matrix that Hilbert and Poly predicted will give these undiscovered solutions.

'He revealed how these solutions are applicable in cryptography, quantum information science and in quantum computers.'

Despite his achievement, the academic said some people have been critical by asking "If this man can solve the Riemann problem...why should he not be able to provide solutions to Nigeria's problems?" Dr Enoch said.

'Some guys celebrated it, some criticised it- saying what has that got to do with putting food on the tables of Nigerians.'

Dr Enoch has previously designed a prototype silo for poor farmers and is working on how to protect oil pipelines from vandalism as well as mathematical approaches to climate change.

Newborn boy survives after being thrown from a fifth floor window by his 'teen mother

The baby who survived the 33 foot fall from a fifth floor window

A newborn baby boy who was thrown from the fifth floor of a building by his teen mother moments after birth is now thriving.

After surviving the 33 foot fall with just a broken arm, the baby was found by the landlord of the building in Dongguan, southern China.

His mother, who is just 15, has now been detained by the police, reported People's Daily Online.According to reports, the teen mother, named as A Zhen, gave birth on her own in the communal toilet of their rented accommodation on October 14.

She fell pregnant after cohabiting with her 19-year-old boyfriend, who remains unidentified.

Although he was at home during the birth, he was said to have washed his hands of the mother and child.

After giving birth alone, A Zhen's despair increased, which was what prompted her to get rid of the baby through the window. She later revealed: 'My boyfriend was very cold and didn't care for me and the baby. He kept on saying, don't keep the child. I did it because I lost my mind.'

The landlord of the building was parking his bike close to where the baby landed later when he heard the newborn's cries.

He claimed he found the naked baby, still covered in blood, amidst a pile of rubbish with a piece of his umbilical cord nearby.

The landlord called the police and the baby was rushed to hospital. A Zhen was immediately suspected of throwing her baby out of the window.A doctor at Changan Hospital, where the baby was treated said: 'This baby boy fell from more than 10 metres up (33 feet), his present condition could be said to be a miracle.'

The baby suffered fractures to the humerus bone on his left arm. He has also experienced some swelling to his head and received scratches to his face.

However, he is otherwise healthy and stable.

A Zhen said she tried to get rid of the baby during pregnancy but was told that she was too young to have an abortion. Throughout her pregnancy, she felt neglected by her boyfriend.

The couple lived in rented accommodation 385 miles away from A Zhen's home in Guangxi, southern China, which meant A Zhen had no other support.

Due to the girl's age, the local government has assigned a social worker to the young mother.

Police have detained A Zhen and charged her with attempted murder. They are currently pursuing her boyfriend, who has since disappeared, in relation to the incident.

The case is currently under investigation.

Snakes fleeing flooded areas in communities in Kanam and Kanke Local Government areas of Plateau State have bitten no fewer than 50 persons in the last two weeks.

This was confirmed by the member representing Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Timothy Golu, who noted that some of the victims had died, while 13 others were in critical conditions at Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH, and 20 in traditional snake treating homes in the state.

He added that some others were visiting the healing centres as outpatients due to lack of bed space.
Golu stressed that the situation was “very scary and pathetic,” adding that the snakes, which moved about openly in pairs, were washed into the communities by flood.

He said: “As flood pushed them from the over flown tributaries of River Benue, some snakes climbed trees, others entered holes, while some just held unto any available straw. They all later descended into residences and farms, wreaking havoc.

“The commonest species were the black mamba, carpet viper and cobra. Most victims usually depend on luck to survive.”

He urged the Federal and Plateau State governments to treat the snake invasion as a national issue, urging residents to be vigilant and protect themselves from bites.

The entire procedure only takes about 15 minutes and feels similar to other cosmetic injections in which patients may feel a slight pinch and burning sensation. However, patients don't walk out of the office flaunting their new and improved chest as it takes a few days to see a noticeable difference and a two months to achieve maximum results.

And while the results of the vampire breast lift are meant to last a year or longer, they can be permanent in some women.

Maria Jose Christerna from Mexico, also known as The Vampire Woman, was once of the 'big names' in attendance who took centre stage at the fair.

Christerna, who is in her late 30s, is covered head-to-toe in colourful artwork, but not satisfied with decorating her skin, she has also had dental work to create fangs, a forked tongue, dozens of piercings and sub-dermal implants on her head to make appear as if she has horns.

Eight months old Tiny Freya Fossaceco is still too young to stand up - but that hasn't stopped the adorable youngster from becoming one of Britain's most stylish babies.

Mum, Kirsty Whelan, 26, has been photographing Freya in a selection of bright and eclectic outfits since she was just 10 weeks old.

The stylish youngster now has more than 5,500 followers on her Instagram account @forget-me-not-frey-frey and has baby clothes designers clamouring for her to model their newest creations.

Kirsty said: 'I was quite new to Instagram before Freya was born, but I just started taking pictures of her and people kept on liking them.'

She also started using Instagram as a shopping outlet. 'There are so many talented mums and British brands making designer clothes for babies,' she said.

'I loved the fact that they were handmade and unique, I just couldn't stop purchasing them.'

Freya has now become a brand representative for Instagram baby clothes companies such as The Bow Boutique and Bowties & Candyfloss - who send her free and discounted clothes to wear in her stylish snaps.

But it is the stay-at-home mum's own unique baby clothing designs that have helped her to style her baby into an Instagram 'It' girl.

Kirsty, who lives in Bath with fiancé Dan, studied textiles for fashion and interiors and was inspired by Freya's online success to start creating outfits of her own.

The mum, who left her job in publishing when she became pregnant, has now started designing head bands and jumpsuits for the miniature model.

Kirsty said: 'I had some material left over from where I'd made Freya some bunting for her nursery and I started making little head wraps and top knots.

'Then it progressed to jumpsuits. I was so inspired by everything on Instagram, I just love putting combinations together on her.

'Now we do a daily update of what she's wearing.

'The positions are really organic, she's just in the shapes she gets herself into.

'I team my clothes with bits from Gap, Mini River Island and Primark - her style is always eclectic and quite bright.'

Now Kirsty is getting requests from as far away as the US and Australia from mums clamouring to get hold of Freya's outfits.

She said: 'I just started making them for her and now people keep asking me to make clothes for their babies.

'I have such a good model, she just lights up under the camera and her eyes are completely captivating.'

Kirsty is aware that posting photographs of such a young baby online can be considered controversial, but says that baby Freya is lapping up the limelight.

'Some people have really strong views on posting photographs like I do,' Kirsty added.

'But we only take photos for 10 minutes tops - then it's back to being a baby.

'As long as my baby is happy, I'm happy.'

'Dead' pregnant teen wakes up inside tomb 24hrs after burial

A 'dead' teenager woke up in her coffin and screamed for help one day after she was buried – but died again before desperate relatives could save her.

Footage has emerged showing grieving family members breaking through the concrete tomb from where Neysi Perez, 16, had been heard 'banging and screaming'.

Relatives who removed the girl's corpse found that the glass viewing window on her coffin had been smashed and the tips of her fingers were bruised.

But despite efforts to revive her medics found no signs of life and she was later returned to the cemetery and reburied in the same mausoleum.

Ms Perez, who was three months pregnant, reportedly fell unconscious after waking up in the night to use the outside toilet at her home in La Entrada, western Honduras.

It was believed she may have collapsed in an apparent panic attack after hearing a burst of gunfire.

But when the teenager started foaming at the mouth her religious parents called the local priest believing she had become possessed by an evil spirit.

Relatives told how the priest tried to exorcise her, but she later became lifeless and was rushed to hospital, where three hours later doctors declared her dead.

Ms Perez was buried in the wedding dress she had recently used to get married.

A day after her funeral, her husband Rudy Gonzales was visiting her grave at the La Entrada General Cemetery when he heard banging and muffled screams from inside the concrete tomb and raised the alarm.

The footage shows desperate family members breaking through the concrete block tomb with a sledgehammer, before bringing out and opening up Ms Perez's coffin to try to revive her.

Cemetery worker Jesus Villanueva said he had also heard noises coming from the grave.

Ms Perez was taken by truck to the nearest hospital in San Pedro Sula, where she was carried in still inside her coffin.

But although medics tried to revive her, all the tests they carried out showed that she was clinically dead.

Doctors believe Ms Perez may have suffered a severe panic attack which could have temporarily stopped her heart activity.

Another hypothesis is that the teenager had a cataplexy attack, an abrupt temporary loss of voluntary muscle function typically triggered by a strong emotional stimulus such as stress or fear, during which the victim maintains full conscious awareness.

She may then have died from lack of oxygen after waking up inside the closed coffin.

Ms Perez's mother Maria Gutierrez firmly believes her daughter was buried alive and blames medics for being too quick to sign her death certificate.

She said: 'The doctors declared her dead but everybody else around me kept telling me she wasn't. She didn't look like she had died.

'Even after a day in the tomb the colour of her body was normal, her corpse didn't smell, she just looked like she was in a deep sleep.

'There was no rigamortis, her body was still flexible, it was impossible that she had been dead for so many hours.

'We were all so happy. After being declared dead for such a long time, everybody was saying that she had come back to life.

'We were all so happy. I thought I was going to get my daughter back.'

El Chapo taunts the world after escape from prison via underground tunnel

Mexico's billion dollar drugs lord known as Joaquin Guzman 'El Chapo' has gloated on Twitter about his escape from a maximum security jail in Altiplano on Saturday by taunting authorities and threatening US-presidential hopeful Donald Trump.

His audacious escape saw him dash through the mile-long tunnel system, which led to a building under construction next to the prison - from where he collected clothes left for him by his conspirators.

The tunnel contained air vents, electric lights, emergency oxygen tanks - and even a motorbike on rails to speed his escape, according to Mexico's National Security Commissioner Monte Alejandro Rubido.

The escape comes after Guzman's son, Ivan also hinted about his father's plans for a daring escape from online earlier this month.

He put up a post on the social network saying 'good things come to those who wait'… 'I won't lie, I have cried but I bring armed men and I promise that soon the General will be back'.

Following his escape, El Chapo has taken to Twitter to hit back at Trump, who has said that the Guzman embodies 'everything that is wrong with Mexico' and warned Trump he would be sorry he spoke out against Mexico. He also called death threats on those who have supposedly betrayed him, including El Chabelo, the current incarcerated boss of Sinaloa's rival cartel the Zetas.

Guzman wrote: 'First to die is El Chabelo, for wanting to see me die in prison.'

He then hinted that the authorities had been complicit in the jailbreak by posting: 'The dog (slang for the Mexican government) dances for money, and I've bought it.'

During his last escape, Guzman hired the help of the prison guards during his first successful escape from maximum security prison, in which he was hidden inside a laundry basket.

Local media have now began questioning how no-one saw 3,250 tonnes of earth that was removed to construct a tunnel a mile long, 80 centimetres wide, and 1.7 metres tall. 2,652 cubic metres of earth would have to be removed, enough to fill 379 dump trucks.

The prison staff are equipped with radar and electronic depth testing equipment which they are required to use regularly specifically in order to check for things like tunnels but nothing was ever reported.

Five days before his capture El Chapo fled from a military operation aimed at his capture through a tunnel in his mansion connected to the city's storm drains.

The tunnel was located below a bathtub, which raised itself vertically by the flick of a switch, revealing escape tunnels.

The same device was found in seven of the 19 separate houses belonging to El Chapo which the government seized following his capture.

Wanted by U.S. prosecutors and once featured in the Forbes list of billionaires, Guzman was gone by the time guards entered his cell in Altiplano prison in central Mexico, the CNS said.

Beneath a 50-cm by 50-cm hole in the cell's shower area, guards found a ladder descending some 32 feet into the tunnel, which was about 5.6 feet high and 28-31 inches wide.

Prison workers were quickly detained over the escape.

Rubido said 18 officials from the penitentiary were being interrogated at the unit specializing in organized crime at the Attorney General's office.

According to Vice, Guzman enjoyed special privileges inside the prison - including private audiences with his visitors - while other inmates had a tougher time.

His escape is a major embarrassment to the administration of Mexico's president Enrique Pena Nieto, which had received plaudits for its aggressive approach to top drug lords. Since the government took office in late 2012, authorities have captured or killed six of them, including Guzman.

Pena Nieto, speaking in France where he is making an official visit, said of the escape: 'This represents without a doubt an affront to the Mexican state.

'But I also have confidence in the institutions of the Mexican state ... that they have the strength and determination to recapture this criminal.'

During Guzman's previous years as a fugitive, he transformed himself from a lowly middleman into arguably the most powerful drug trafficker in the world - and he was placed on the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's most-wanted list.

His fortune is estimated at more than $1billion, according to Forbes magazine - which listed him among the 'World's Most Powerful People' and ranked him above the presidents of France and Venezuela.

Guzman was caught by authorities for the first time in Guatemala in 1993, then he was extradited and sentenced to 20 years in prison in Mexico for murder and drug trafficking.

He escaped from another maximum security prison, Puente Grande in western Jalisco state, in 2001 with the help of prison guards.

He hid in a laundry cart to make his getaway, but there are several theories as to how he got out

Guzman is known for his ability to pay off local residents and even authorities, who tipped him off to security operations launched for his capture.

He was finally tracked down to a modest beachside high-rise in the Pacific Coast resort city of Mazatlan in February 2014, where he had been hiding with his beauty-queen wife and twin daughters.

Emma Coronel, who was born in California, is a U.S. citizen, which means she has the right to live in the United States. Her father was also a drug lord who died in a shoot-out with the Mexican army.

She was sent to California to give birth so that her daughters would be U.S. citizens too. Federal agents wanted to stop her, but had no formal charges to file so had to let her go free.

Before security forces captured him, they went on a several-day chase through Culiacan, the capital of his home Sinaloa state, for which the cartel is named.

They found houses with steel-enforced doors and elaborate tunnels - where Guzman had apparently been staying - that allowed him to escape through the sewer system.

Earlier this year, the then Mexican Attorney General Jesus Murillo Karam said that sending Guzman to the US, where he is wanted, would save Mexico a lot of money, but keeping him there was a question of national sovereignty.

Murillo Karam dismissed concerns that Guzman would escape a second time. That risk 'does not exist', he said. Murillo Karam has since been replaced by Arely Gomez.

Mexican president Pena Nieto is currently in France for a state visit. He is expected to make a statement later today.

It is believed he will not be cutting short his trip, but his Interior Secretary Miguel Angel Osorio Chong - the Cabinet's head of security - will return to Mexico from France.

In 1993, gunmen linked to the Tijuana-based Arrellano Felix cartel attempted to assassinate Guzman at the Guadalajara airport but instead killed Roman Catholic Cardinal Juan Jesus Posadas Ocampo - leading to outrage among Mexicans.

Guzman was rumored to have once entered a restaurant in Culiacan, the capital of Sinaloa state, where his henchmen confiscated every patron's cellphone so their boss could eat without fear of an ambush.

He was also reported to have staged an elaborate public wedding in 2007 to an 18-year-old bride, which was attended by officials and local police.

Federal police say they raided the town that day but got there just a few hours too late.

Guzman was known to move around frequently, using private aircraft, bulletproof SUVs and even all-terrain vehicles

His location was part of Mexican folklore, with rumors circulating of him being everywhere from Guatemala to almost every corner of Mexico, especially its 'Golden Triangle', a mountainous, marijuana-growing region straddling the northern states of Sinaloa, Durango and Chihuahua.

An archbishop in northern Durango state said in April 2009 that Guzman lived in a town nearby. Days later, investigators found the bodies of two slain army lieutenants with the note: 'Neither the government nor priests can handle El Chapo.'

Reactions in the U.S. to Guzman's escape ranged from disbelief to outrage, with some observers saying it dramatically illustrated the need for captured cartel kingpins to be promptly extradited to the U.S.

Several U.S. attorneys' offices have indicted Guzman on trafficking charges, including in Chicago, where several Guzman lieutenants were successfully extradited, prosecuted and imprisoned. The U.S. had said after Guzman's 2014 capture that it would file an extradition request, though it's unclear if that already happened.

For its part, Mexico's government at the time denied the need to extradite Guzman even as many expressed fears he would inevitably escape. He had escaped before, in 2001, while serving a 20-year sentence in another maximum-security prison in Mexico.

That air of self-confidence among Mexican authorities will be harder to maintain if and when Mexico recaptures Guzman or nabs some other cartel leader, Shirk said.

'The calls for extradition (to the U.S.) will be more intense' in the wake of Guzman's escape, he said. 'It'll be more difficult for the Mexican government to say, 'No, no. We have this under control.''

How George Bush and Tony Blair destroyed Christianity in Iraq

In June 2014, a vast exodus took place in Iraq following an ultimatum given by ISIS to Christians in that country that if they did not convert to Islam by noon on July 19, 2014, they would pay a fine of 470 Dollars per family or be executed.

This is one of the oldest Christian communities in the world. The murals of the earliest church building to have been discovered in that part of the world was painted between 232 AD and 256 AD, three-quarters of a century before the Roman emperor, Constantine, recognized Christianity.

The travails of the Christians living in Iraq began with the invasion of that country by Britain and the United States under the leadership of Tony Blair and George Bush.

The naive and stupendously ill-conceived foreign policy of Britain and the United States over the issues in the Middle East in 2003 is about to wipe out the practice of the Christian religion in Iraq.

Because Saddam Hussein refused to reduce the price of crude oil sold by his country and perhaps because he made a mistake by annexing Kuwait, the Government of the United States plotted his downfall by alleging that Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. Even when no evidence was found in support of that claim, the US government kept on insisting that Iraq had chemical weapons and later, George bush convinced the then British Prime minister, Tony Blair to join him in the plot to overthrow Saddam Hussein.

In the end, Hussein’s government was toppled and himself executed by the US government.

For however revolting Saddam Hussein may have been, he did at least tolerate Iraq’s Christian community, which at one time was almost 1.5 million-strong. In the years following the invasion, the number of Christians dwindled to 300,000.

Then, in June 2014, Islamic State captured Mosul, Iraq’s second biggest city, which still had a sizeable Christian minority.

According to Canon Andrew White, a brave Anglican priest resident in Baghdad: ‘It looks as though the end [of Christianity in Iraq] could be very near.’

The largely untold story of the persecuted Iraqi Christian minority is especially shaming for those avowedly Christian leaders, George W. Bush and Tony Blair, who were responsible for the invasion of Iraq.

The lives of the Christians in Iraq obviously are not more precious than those of the no-less-terrorized Shia Muslims, but one might have expected Christian leaders to have spared a thought for them before they set about tearing apart the country’s social fabric.

It is certain, however, that if the admittedly odious Saddam Hussein were still in power, Islamic State would not be on the rampage in northern Iraq and the lives of thousands of Christians and Shias would not have been lost.

And it is also certain that the number of people who have died since the invasion — as many as 750,000, according to reputable studies — far exceeds the number of victims of Saddam Hussein during his much longer period in power. No doubt thousands more innocent people are doomed to be killed.

Cruel and despotic though he was, Saddam did offer Iraq a measure of stability which was destroyed by the invasion. This repulsive strongman at least held his country together, which the divisive Shia-dominated government in Baghdad cannot do.

In 2011, David Cameron made a similar error in forcing out Gaddafi.

In the Libya over which he presided for more than 40 years, there were no factions of militias killing innocent people and destroying their homes and livelihoods.

Tony Blair displayed total arrogance and ignorance in his foreign excursions.

His habit was to divide the world into ‘goodies’ and ‘baddies’.

Before the British-led invasion of Kosovo in 1999, Blair demonized the Serb leader, Slobodan Milosevic, whom he referred to as a war criminal.

He had rushed to Tahrir Square in Cairo after the ousting of Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak to celebrate what he appeared to think was the birth of democracy in the country.

As it turned out, it was no such thing. The Egyptian Army led by Abdel Fattah El-Sisi overthrew Morsi’s government and later organized a ‘kangaroo’ presidential election which retained him in power. The Prime Minister — in his innocence — thought that democracy was much easier to establish in the Middle East than it has turned out to be.

A couple of years ago, Blair tried to involve Britain in the Syrian war on the side of the rebels against President Bashar al-Assad but the attempt was thwarted by the British Parliament. It has since become increasingly clear that the rebels are far from being ‘goodies’. Indeed, they include the genocidal Islamic State.

Under Tony Blair and, to a lesser extent, David Cameron, Britain’s foreign policy has been driven by a kind of do-gooding naivety rather than a hard-headed assessment of our own interests or a sophisticated appraisal of the consequences of getting rid of disagreeable, but efficient, rulers.

The recent call by President Barak Obama to help Christians and other minorities, expelled from cities and villages in northern Iraq, return to their ancient homeland may not achieve the desired results because Christians, of whom around 120,000 have taken refuge in Iraqi Kurdistan, will not be willing to return home even if their persecutors suddenly vanish.

Western leaders have ignorantly assumed that democracy can be imposed with the barrel of a gun. Of course it can’t be — as Iraq and Libya have demonstrated, and as we will see in Afghanistan once the last American troops have left.

One day, perhaps, Iraq and Libya will be democratic, but if they ever are, it will not be as a result of western meddling but because that is what people in those countries, and their rulers, want.

Girl born without arms became a pilot after wining black belt in Tae Kwon Do

Jessica Cox, 32, was born without arms and while she wore prosthetic limbs as a child, she eventually abandoned them in favour of using her feet to perform everyday tasks.

Ever since, she has been proving that she can do anything that people with arms can do, achieving merits that most people would be incredibly proud of.

Jessica earned a Guinness World Record in 2008 when she received her pilot's license and became the first woman to fly an airplane with her feet.

She also became the first armless black belt in the American Tae Kwon Do Association.

Mrs Cox is able to drive a car without modifications, type on a keyboard and even play the piano, constantly proving that her disability would not hold her back.

Five years ago Jessica met her husband, Patrick Chamberlain, through their mutual love for Tae Kwon Do.

Jessica said: 'Patrick, was a fourth-degree black belt and he was teaching a class with my friend, and we hit it off right away.

'We got to know each other on an instructor-student basis and met outside of school at social gatherings.

'He moved on to a different Tae Kwon Do school eventually and he asked me out and the rest was history.'

Patrick said: 'Jessica and I had been dating for several months when I decided that she was the woman I was going to marry

'She is unrelenting, positive, and unstoppable, and has opened my eyes to new possibilities since the day I met her.'

Jessica and Patrick were married in 2012, and live together in Tucson, Arizona, where she lives her life independently.

Jessica said: 'Naturally people saw me not having arms as a limiting factor - but I was there to prove them wrong.

'At three years old I was involved in gymnastics, at six I started tap dancing lessons, I did modelling, I swam at five, 10-years-old I was doing Tae Kwon Do, I did every activity you could imagine.'

Jessica said: 'I faced some challenges when it came to learning how to get dressed, but it was a trial and error process.

'We started off mounting hooks on the walls and I would hang my clothes on the hooks and wiggle my way into them.

'The hooks would sometimes create holes in my clothes and it was hard to have the hook in public restrooms where I needed to get dressed so I have a new hook that has a suction on it and it has been with me since I was 18-years-old.

'That was one of my biggest challenges, but I'm very independent, the only thing I really need help with is doing my hair.

'Patrick learned to do a very nice ponytail, bun and braid - it's very special because he realised how much it annoyed me to have my hair in my face.'

Jessica can even flawlessly play the piano and has completed two duets with her husband.

Idi Amin's favourite widow, Sarah Kyolaba has died following a battle with cancer.

Before her death last week at London's Royal Free Hospital, Sarah Kyolabawho lived a life of obscurity running a North London hair salon for 30 years after the dictator's exile.

She was the last surviving wife of the former Ugandan leader before she died.

The 59-year-old arrived in Britain more than three decades ago - having followed her husband into exile in Saudi Arabia - and later worked at a salon in Tottenham.

Mrs Amin was once known as 'Suicide Sarah' because she was a go-go dancer for the Ugandan army's Revolutionary Suicide Mechanised Regiment Band.

She married the dictator after he spotted her performing at the age of 19. The pair were later married in a lavish £2million ceremony in the country's capital Kampala. She was said to be his 'favourite wife' and went by the title Lady Sarah Kyolaba Idi Amin.

Friends have paid tribute to her 'honesty and her humility' while others remembered how she enjoyed visiting her local bar in Seven Sisters, the Independent reports.

President Amin, who reportedly fathered 43 children, was forced from Uganda in 1979, fled to Libya, then Iraq and finally Saudi Arabia, where he was allowed to settle provided he stayed out of politics.

A one-time heavyweight boxing champion and soldier in the British colonial army, Amin seized power on January 25, 1971, overthrowing President Milton Obote while Obote was abroad.

Human rights groups say hundreds of thousands of people were killed during Amin's 1971-1979 rule over Uganda.

He died from kidney failure in 2003.

In an interview after his death, his widow, who worked as a lingerie model in Germany before moving to Britain with the third of her four children, said the dictator was a 'true African hero', the Independent reports.

She is quoted as saying at the time: 'He was just a normal person, not a monster. He was a jolly person, very entertaining and kind.

'I learned a lot of things from him, not because I was married to him but as a growing woman… things like leadership, self-confidence and initiative.'

The Independent reports that she described herself as the 'former First Lady of Uganda' on her Facebook page, which featured a picture of her sitting beside the dictator.

Former military ruler, General Muhammadu Buhari has been sworn into office as the 5^thcivilian president of the federal republic of Nigeria.

Addressing visitors and Nigerians at the Eagle square, Abuja today during his swearing-in ceremony, President Buhari listed youths unemployment, insecurity and declining revenue from oil as the major challenges facing his administration but expressed optimism that with the help of Europe and America as well as concerned citizens of Nigeria, his government will improve the fortunes of the Nation as soon as possible.

He thanked the government and people of Chad, Cameroun and Niger for their effort to help Nigeria fight insurgency, adding that his administration will embark on Agricultural revolution and mining as a means to achieve its goal.

Also present at the occasion were the United States Secretary of State, John Kerry, The South African President, Jacob Zuma, the Zimbabwean president, Robert Mugabe, the Liberian president, Sirleaf Johnson, past Nigerian military Heads of State and a host of others.

In a related development, the Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and twenty-eight other governors in Nigeria were also sworn into office today.

Okorocha who was sworn in for a second term in office at the Dan Anyiam stadium today thanked the people of Imo State for their support to him during his past tenure, adding that he will continue from where he stopped during his last tenure. He promised to build factories and industries which will provide employment opportunities for the youths as well as sustaining the progress his administration made in the last four years.

Zuma offers 4,500 dollars to HIV positive S/Africans to have genitals tattooed.

HIV positive South Africans that volunteer to be marked near their genital area with a tattoo depicting their status will be paid an equivalent of 4,500 dollars or 840, 000 naira (50 000 Rands) each, according to a bill newly signed by President Jacob Zuma.

The bill, according to a report by Radio City, a local South African radio station, is widely regarded as one of the greatest steps in the history of combating the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the country which has the highest HIV prevalence in Africa.

Zuma who is reported to to have volunteered to be the first South African citizen to get hisHIV status tatted near his genitals, however announced that only the first 10 million people (who already tested positive) to volunteer to have their HIV statuses tattooed on their genitals would be given the money in form of a funeral expense voucher.

After signing the bill, Zuma was quoted as saying: “The mark is to protect those who can’t say no to sex. I mean if you can’t read between the lines you should read between the legs because that’s where the status would be tatted.

“The choice to be HIV positive is now in your hands or your genitals for that matter…. We also encourage those who had been living with the virus to go to the nearest public hospitals to get their status tatted in,” he noted.

South Africa has the world’s highest HIV caseload and premature deaths of 300,000 people. The government is distributing life-prolonging anti-retroviral drugs to people infected with the virus.

Particularly, HIV-positive infants and children under one year obtain free ARVs, while pregnant women and patients with tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS with CD4 cell counts below 350 are treated free.

In 2006, Zuma faced charges of raping an HIV-positive family friend, and was ridiculed for testifying that he took a shower after sex to lower the risk of infection with HIV. His determination to help millions South Africans infected with HIV and around 60,000 babies born HIV infected each year.

“Let there be no more shame, no more blame, no more discrimination and no more stigm. Let the politicisation and endless debates about HIV and AIDS stop,” Zuma noted.

Many factors contribute to the wide spread of HIV in the country. These include: poverty; inequality and social instability; high levels of sexually transmitted infections; the low status of women; sexual violence; high mobility (particularly migrant labour); limited and uneven access to quality medical care; and a history of poor leadership in the response to the epidemic.

HIV and AIDS estimates by UNAIDS (2013), show that the number of people living with HIV in South Africa averages 6.3 million. Adults aged 15 to 49 have average prevalence rate of 19.1 percent while youths aged 15 and above living with HIV number 5.9 million.

Women aged 15 and above living with HIV number 3. 5 million while children aged 0 to 14 living with the virus are 3.6 million in number.

Total deaths due to AIDS range between 170,000 – 220,000, while an estimated 2.4 million orphans aged 0 to 17 months due to AIDS are on record.

Australian on death row weds fiancée in prison few hours to his execution

An Australian drug smuggler, Andrew Chan who is expected to be executed by firing squad in Indonesia tomorrow evening has married his fiancé of less than three months inside the prison today, as family paid what will be one of their last visits.

Their wedding was held just months after the drugs ringleader proposed to his girlfriend at Kerobokan Prison.

The shooting is set to go ahead despite Indonesia's Constitutional Court agreeing to hear a legal challenge brought by the duo and setting a hearing date of May 12.

Chan and another convicted drug smuggler, Myuran Sukumaran, are part of the Bali Nine who were convicted in 2005 over a plot to smuggle around 18.2lbs of heroin from Indonesia to Australia.

The pair, as well as other death row inmates, have remained defiant in their final hours inside the prison on Indonesia's 'death island', where coffins were seen arriving earlier this evening.

Leonard Arpan, lawyer for the two men, said he had lodged an appeal against the death sentences, but Indonesia's attorney general Muhammad Prasetyo said it would not stop the executions taking place.

Families of both of the men visited them today and were told they will have to say their final goodbyes tomorrow.

Chan's mother was in tears as she boarded a ferry to the island with the pair's Australian lawyer Julian McMahon.

Sukumaran was denied the opportunity to hug his mother goodbye after guards refused to remove his handcuffs, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The date of the executions became official when a local funeral director was instructed to inscribe the names of those to be shot by firing squad and the date of their deaths.

Chan and Sukumaran both refused to sign their execution warrants during official proceedings on Saturday, saying they believed it would be unjust to kill them.

The latter's brother, Chinthu Sukumaran, said: 'He's found peace with what may happen but he and we all feel that this is a grave injustice and it did not have to be this way and it still doesn't have to be this way.'

He also called on Indonesia President Joko Widodo to give clemency to the men

'Please, please show mercy,' he said. 'There are nine people with families that love them.

'That's mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers and sisters.

'We ask the president to please use his powers to intervene and save their lives.'

The Australian men are expected to be led from their isolated cells in Batu prison and through tropical forest.

The condemned pair will be given white clothing to wear, which symbolises the afterlife, before beginning their fatal trek.

They will be given the option to be blindfolded with a piece of fabric before facing the firing squad, who will be lined up anywhere from five to 10 metres in front of them.

The death row inmates will be allowed to stand, sit or kneel before a cross is placed over their hearts, acting as a target for the 12 riflemen - of which nine will have blanks and only three will have live rounds.

If necessary their hands or feet will be tied to a three-metre high pole or a wooden execution chair.

Michael Chan said his brother's only wish would be to go to church with his family in his last days.

'The two boys are still holding up pretty well considering they feel this is injust (unjust) to what has happened over the last ten years with their whole case,' he said.

'Somewhere in the legal system for Indonesia there's got to be mercy and the president needs to show that now.

'He's the only one that can stop it and it's not too late to do so.'

Prisoners 'brutalize' transgender woman for performing sex acts on self

A Brazilian transgender woman has accused police of brutally beating her, shaving her head and stripping her of her clothes. But an official police statement claimed Bolina was attacked by prisoners when she was seen performing a sex act on herself in her cell and that officers were forced to intervene.

It added that the injuries were the result of a struggle in which, police claim, she bit an officer on the ear.

Veronica Bolina, 25, was arrested on April 12, accused of assaulting an elderly neighbor and attempted murder.

When photos of Bolina with her face disfigured appeared on social media in subsequent days, officials opened an investigation.

There are pictures of Bolina, allegedly during her arrest, with her shirt ripped off, her hands handcuffed behind her back and her feet chained together. There are also closeups of her face, allegedly taken at a later date, with both eyes swollen shut and her mouth swollen.

Pictures appearing to show her ordeal were leaked online and have sparked outrage across Brazil

The photos of her badly swollen eyes and mouth have been widely shared on the internet with outraged supporters setting up campaign groups on the internet demanding the right for LGBT people to be treated fairly.

One supporter, Susane Montalvo Sarabia, said: 'It is just sickening that in this day and age such things as this still happen.

'They have pulverised that poor woman's face and are now trying to cover it up. Whether she is innocent, guilty, transgender or straight doesn't matter.

'The police should not be allowed to do this to anyone.'

Authorities in Sao Paulo say they are now investigating the matter.

A spokesman for the prosecutors office said she had been moved to a detention centre where she has an individual cell until the court case.

Co-Pilot 'Deliberately' crashed Germanwings A320 plane, killing 150 passengers

The co-pilot of Germanwings flight A320 is believed to have deliberately crashed a plane carrying 150 people into the French Alps.

There were no survivors when the Airbus suddenly plummeted near Digne on a flight from Barcelona to Dusseldorf on Tuesday morning.

At a press conference on Thursday, Marseille Prosecutor Brice Robin revealed chilling details of what he had heard on the audio from one of the retrieved black box recorders.

He confirmed earlier reports that the pilot had been locked out of the cockpit after excusing himself momentarily, possibly to visit the bathroom.

The conversation between the two previously had been "normal" and "courteous".

While the co-pilot was alone he locked the door and engaged a flight-monitoring system which began the descent of the plane, Robin said.

Identifying the co-pilot as a German national, Andreas Lubitz, aged 28, he added: “This can only be done voluntarily, not automatically.

"We hear several cries from the captain asking to get in. Through the intercom system he identifies himself - but there is no answer. He knocks on the door and asks for it to be opened - but there is no answer."Lubitz “didn’t say a single” word while he was alone and could be heard breathing "normally" during the descent, he said.

Robin added: "It wasn't the breath of someone who was struggling. He didn't say a single word, it was total silence.

"We hear the breathing inside the cockpit and we hear it until the moment of impact. "I think the victims only realised at the last moment because on the recording you only hear the screams on the last moment."

He added that there was no answer from the cockpit to communication with ground controllers or from other aircraft in the area.

At this point alarm systems were sounding on the plane informing those onboard of the aircraft's proximity to the ground.

When asked if Lubitz had committed suicide, Robin replied: "No, I'm not even going to mention this word because I don't know."

When pressed on Lubitz's religion, Brice said: "I don't think this is where this lies. I don't think we will get any answers there.

"He is not listed as a terrorist, if that is what you are insinuating."

Libutz was a member of a flying club called LSC Westerwald.

Two former schoolgirl friends are getting married after one of them had a sex change to become a man - and they are now expecting a child.

Toni Harper, 22, met Sean Horton, 25, through friends when they were aged 12 and 15 and he was a blonde girl called Sian.

They became good friends and Sean 'came out' to Toni after years of torment about his gender and sexuality.

Sean started hormone treatment and the pair fell in love as his voice lowered and he grew facial hair.

Trainee mechanic Sean is just one operation away from the end of his treatment and the couple will tie the knot next month after winning a wedding in a competition.The pair are also about to start a family thanks to a sperm donor and Toni is due to give birth four weeks after their wedding.

Sean, from Knowle, Bristol, said: 'When I was younger I always wanted to wear boys' clothes. My mum just thought I was a Tomboy until I told her the truth.

'Now I just can't wait to be a dad. I can't wait to hear him call me 'daddy'.'The couple became friends while at school and grew so close that Toni was the first person Sean told that he wanted to be a man.

He then later revealed his feelings to his mother Heather, 51, who fully supported her son.

Sean always had the support of his mother, Heather, and the couple are now looking forward to becoming parents themselves thanks to a sperm donor

The engaged couple had artificial insemination treatment with donor sperm in a bid to get pregnant, spending £8,000 at a private clinic on three unsuccessful attempts.

The pair also planned a wedding but put it on hold after Sean's father Martin was diagnosed with cancer.

In a cruel twist of fate they got the news they could have further insemination treatment on the NHS the day Mr Horton passed away from cancer.

Toni then became pregnant with the baby boy, which due on Mr and Mrs Horton's wedding anniversary.

The couple are getting married next month after they won a £12,000 wedding through local paper, The Bristol Post.

Excited groom Sean said: 'I believe this is fate falling on us. He wanted his first grandson as bad as we did, but when he was here we had three failed attempts.

'Then, after he passed away, we managed to get pregnant on the first attempt. We couldn't believe it. Toni said she will never forget my face when I found out.'

Toni added: 'It was the longest two weeks of our life after the insemination.

'We had tried before. It had been so hard and so disappointing. But we were so relieved in the end.'

Manuel Ramon Gonzalez’s shocked partner had called police after spotting him on CCTV cameras at home engaged in an X-rated act with the family pet.
Gonzalez, from Palm Beach County, Florida, admitted cruelty to an animal and sexual activity with an animal after being arrested, according to CBS12.
‘We do see a lot of it. A lot of times we wish there was more we could do,’ said Captain Dave Walesky, who works for animal control in Palm Beach County.
He added: ‘It just doesn’t make sense why people do things like that. It’s really unexplainable from my perspective. There’s no reason to justify something like that.’

Officials say the Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control responds to nearly 30,000 calls per year and roughly half of them are possible abuse cases.
Website Pet-Abuse.com says Florida is the number one state in the country for the most severe animal crimes . A court put Gonzalez on the probation for a year. His wife started divorcing the 61-year-old before she turned him in.
Authorities say this is part of a bigger animal abuse problem in South Florida that doesn't seem to be going away.

Teenager dies after police forced him to eat 6 grams of cocaine as punishment in Colombia

A teenager died in Colombia after police officers caught him with six grams of crack cocaine and forced him to eat it as punishment.

Juan David Osorio Rodas, 19, was walking home from a friend's house when he was stopped and searched by officers in the city of Medellin.

Finding the drugs in his pockets, they took him to the police station where they forced him to eat it all before letting him go.

A local cafe owner said the young man came in and complained of feeling ill. After drinking some milk, he collapsed on the floor.

Mr Rodas was taken to hospital where he died shortly after.

His brother David Garcia said the teenager dealt drugs to earn money, but was about to quit.

The 22-year-old said: 'He did a bit of dealing to earn some money but was about to give that up and find a proper job.'

Cafe owner Fariol Camacho Olivo, 45, said: 'The boy came in and complained of feeling sick after being made to eat the crack.

'He then phoned his brother and told him what had happened.'

He added: 'I didn't really believe him but he did look a bit peaky so I gave him a glass of milk telling him it would reduce the effect of the drug.

'He started drinking it and suddenly collapsed on the floor.'

Mr Garcia added: 'We have witnesses who saw the police catch my brother with a few packs of crack.

'They took him to the police headquarters in the Bolivar neighbourhood and made him eat everything he had on him.

'This week we will ask for a medical exam and everything needed to prove what really happened.'

A police spokesman said the two officers involved are being investigated.

Colonel Carlos Alberto Wilches said: 'I can confirm there are two police officers being investigated.

'In situations like this, when there are possible violations of police procedures, the National Police works alongside all competent institutions to ensure transparency in the investigation.
