Backwoods Boiler Boys began in the small community of Windygates in southern Manitoba, Canada in August 2012. Brian Sawatzky and myself (Randy Hoeppner), saw the need for knowledgable, honest alternative heating solutions for our frigid Manitoba winters. After intensive research into providing high efficient wood burning heating solutions for the province and beyond, we saw the Ecco stove as a good fit with the rest of our products (high efficient outdoor wood and biomass boilers, pellet stoves, fireplaces and traditional wood stoves). We look forward to helping customers find their best heating source.

Lauderdale Renewables Ltd.

Lauderdale Renewables Ltd. is an established family run and owned plumbing and heating business. We have over 70 years of experience in the plumbing and heating industry, so we know a lot about heating properties. We deliver a service to the people of Scotland, the north of England and have contact further South.

Our installers are all time served and fully qualified plumbing and heating engineers, with a vast knowledge of many different heating systems. With the experience we have gained throughout the years we are able to advise and design the correct system for your needs and we can apply our skilled installation techniques to ensure you receive both an efficient and effective service. We are a small committed team.

Eight years ago we ventured into the Renewable sector of Biomass Heating. The rising cost of Gas, Oil and Electricity means that more sustainable heating solutions need to be integrated into the current UK energy resources. We understood that the market was about to change, so we decided to embrace new technologies and get ready for the new way ahead.

It was a slow and daunting prospect of introducing new technologies back then as not many people had heard of biomass, and it was not easy to get people to break from tradition. Yet here we are, going for strength to strength, helping Scottish consumers lead the way with innovative energy systems.

Towards the middle of last year we introduced the new Ecco Stove to Scotland. We have already installed four of these superb stoves and have a number of interested clients.

Being one of the first companies in Scotland to be MCS accredited for biomass we have sole distribution rights for many excellent companies, products and services. Some of which have been influential in new design approaches in European countries. We have made some amazing contacts throughout our journey as well and it is this which we believe is the key to being able to succeed in a very small and unknown yet ever growing industry. We are bringing many tried and tested European technologies into the Scottish market. We also supply and install heat recovery systems as we believe they are going to play an important role in the future of renewable energy heating solutions.

The Chimney Corner

The Chimney Corner are the latest retailer of the Ecco Stove range, an innovation in whole house heating burning wood logs. Based in Babraham, Cambridge, the specialists at The Chimney Corner will be on hand to consult and install for customers throughout the East of England looking for alternative home heating methods.

Based on the Kachelofen concept of Northern Europe, the Ecco Stove range utilises a combination of contra-flow flueways and silicon carbide to achieve results over 85% efficiency, fuel bill savings of up to 75% and a carbon output of 0.24% to atmosphere (2.1 g/h with a permissible rate of 6 g/h).

As well as specialising in the Ecco Stove range and concept, The Chimney Corner supply and install a range of traditional and contemporary wood burning and multifuel stoves for consumers in and around Cambridgeshire, including Woodwarm.

The Stove Shop

The Stove Shop carries a range of wood burning stoves and wood fired central heating units serving the South Coast of England.
New to its products is the Ecco Stove range fired by wood logs.

Different to other appliances on the marketplace, the Eccostoves are whole house heaters, similar in performance to the soapstone stoves in Finland (kachelofens) being masonry style heaters, wood fired heating much more of a house than the room the appliance stands in.

This new ceramic style heater (the Eccostove), an innovation using Silicon carbide as the stoves whole body construction. Different to all other wood burners and log burners on the marketplace.

The Tinderbox

Located in the Western Catskill Mountains of New York State, in the village of Fleischmanns, is The Tinderbox, a family owned and operated retail hearth store. Serving the area with wood stoves of many makes, The Tinderbox installs and services their products using their own service and installation staff.

Over a year ago, intrigued by the Ecco Stove, The Tinderbox began tracking its progress in America. The high efficiency of the Ecco Stove (85% plus), the high burn temperature (up to 1800˚F) and the low emissions (2.6gph) make it a unique whole house heater, rather than a traditional metal stove, or much larger masonry heater. These unique features, as well as the size of the Ecco Stove (being about half that of a comparable masonry heater), the speed of build (being an hour rather than a day or two days), the cost (being much less then soapstone or ceramic heaters) and it being an English product, all made the decision to become a dealer and retailer/builder easy.

Locally, a builder of Finnish-made soapstone masonry heaters was dealing in a side of the cord wood heating business The Tinderbox had been unable to offer. The Ecco Stove gave The Tinderbox the opportunity to broaden their product range and customer base by offering masonry/ceramic heaters at a much more competitive price point than others could offer .

Hoedekie Eco Heating

Hoedekie bvba is specialised in central heating, sanitary, solar systems and ventilation for several years. Since January 2012 the company established Hoedekie Eco Heating bvba by representing Ecco Stove in the Benelux. Hoedekie Eco Heating is based in Belgium, more specifically in Merelbeke, a town near the city of Ghent.

We have the opportunity to be a part of the innovation in whole house heating systems by the use of wood logs. Ecco Stove is a magnificent stove that is based on the innovative use of Silicon Carbide in combination with old age principles to maximise efficiency, to create lower emissions and to decrease running costs. Having an Ecco Stove at your home has many advantages. Numbers speak for themselves, the efficiency of the stove is tested at 85.3% with a Carbon output to atmosphere of only 0.24% average.
