Come see 5 of Romania’s finest street artists and illustrators of the moment – Aitch, Irlo, Noper, Saddo and Sinboy – work the Night Shift at McCann Erickson Pop-Up Gallery. We put in hard hours during the day; they take over during the night.

The result is nocturnal, dreamy, light and magical, which borders dark, violent, nightmarish and straight-up horror. Showcasing some of their work on paper, carton and wood, drawing directly on the walls of the Gallery, experimenting with characters and symbols and playing with lighting of the space, the artists will go for a unique atmosphere all throughout the show.”

McCann Erickson Pop-Up Gallery pops up for two weeks only, June 11-25. On the opening night of June 11 we are officially one of destinations inside an all-in-all exciting night for art. Expect: a live performance by all 5 artists, special prices for special pieces, good beats, vibrant crowd, give-aways and refreshments as they last. Night Shift as it should be.

"Our desire to believe in constructed systems of reference hides paranoia over the impossibility of ultimate understanding and communication. Language and science provide an appealing cover for the gaps between individuals, with each other and with the world. Both systems are ever-changing and evolving; being proved ‘wrong’ and something else proclaimed ‘true’. But we don’t like to think that our tiny bit of knowledge on the grand timeline of all possible pasts and futures may be ultimately as longstanding as… well, all the stuff we can’t remember any more. Often surrounded by wriggling objects in the shape of sperm, Nana appears to be childish and helpless. In the company of glittering jewels, Nana is no stranger to vanity. In the contemporary art circle, Yang Na is doubtless a new artist. However, her works are ardently and strenuously sought after by collectors both in China and abroad. Noper Updates

Noper is a Romanian illustrator with a thing for animation. He currently lives in Bucharest and works as Art Director with an advertising agency. In his early carreer he often found himslef juggling with various illustration styles, but his more mature work clearly underline his passion to create fabulous and bizarre characters and worlds. His final works are always ellaborated, always yearning to be watched thoroughly in order to discover all the details. He finds his muses in every-day life, be it a funny event or a month-old frustration. That's why the majority of his surreal characters often are a "day to day" satirical quotation. He never plans or sketches a drawing, but prefers to pump every bit of his spontaneous creativity on any type of canvas he has in front: a piece of paper, a tablet, a wall or a napkin. This is how every work gets an organic, unique feeling. He goes by the motto "If I see it, maybe i'll feel it. If I feel it, fuck I'll draw it".

Zhou Fan - Chinese Contemporary Artist: "A series of my paintings is based on dreams that I had as a child of many many jellyfish floating in the sky, some of which fell to the ground on parachutes and became mushrooms. These dreams had a strong impact on me, and I remember them vividly. Somehow I feel that it is easier to focus on dreams than reality. In one particular painting, there is a boy crying because he keeps things within him, is easily sad, and he refuses to face reality."
