Feeling of Being
Music & Lyrics by Lucy Schwartz and Sally Seltmann

Bet you if you sink
You’d swim a little further
And I bet you if you cried
You’d understand me better
So I take a little time just sailing down the river
And I’m throwing out my line to see if I can catch the

How still the night
Feeling of being
One little light

I hear the water lapping
On the side of the boat
Pretending I am catching
But I never feel the bite I only feel it’s missing
How still the night
Feeling of being
One little light

And I wonder if we ever find out what we’re after
And the truth of it is we’re both winding down the river

Reviews

After having read several books on different self-help topics, psychology books, psychiatry books, etc., I MUST recommend you buy this one, first. It cuts straight through the BS – neatly and cleanly. I have bought copies of this book for friends and can’t recommend it enough. — E. Adams, online purchaser

Don’t be bossed around ever again!!! In Sheep’s Clothing: Understanding with Manipulative People by George Simon, Ph.D. is a godsend to anyone who has ever questioned their own sanity while in any kind of a relationship with a controlling and manipulative person. — The Aeolian Kid, an online purchaser

Dr. Simon teaches the mechanics of popular tactics used by manipulators and how you can identify and thwart their tactics so you can control the outcome. This book helped me with a person I had no choice but to see daily. After the end of every “friendly” conversation I felt depressed or insulted but could not figure out how this person was doing it. This book helped me to understand what was really happening. Dr. Simon’s guidelines exposed this person and allowed me to take control. Because this person knows I can no longer be controlled, I now have–not a perfect relationship–but one that’s better than the alternative. — A Reader in Chicago

This book is like the decoder ring for the jumbled mess that is a manipulator’s modus operandi. Do yourself a favor and get this book now. — Christy, a reader in Missouri

It is sad that there are people out there that make life so much harder than it should be for others. Being able to identify such people in your life (both at home and at work) is very important and can be of invaluable help to 1) not go crazy yourself, and 2) take corrective action. Dr. Simon’s book is written with amazing clarity. If you read only one book this year, read this one. — JA0008, Online Purchaser

I have found the more I live outside the box. The more threatened people are about their “suburban” lifestyle. It seems sometimes the older people get the more unwilling we can be to allow change to happen to us or to others and the younger we are the more we think our intelligent minds and academic smarts have helped us figure out all we need to know…..

Both seem like more of a condition of the mind than a real logical outlook of a whole.

“Regular people” I guess are the ones that set their life up and then never move out of that set up. One reason being it is the “best” set up.

I would like to expand on how harmful this train of thought can be. I am having an issue with what is considered regular as being better for everyone. This does not allow peace to cultivate for all of humanity.

I have found just merely not having the same reaffirming thoughts as others on core life choices like schooling, religion, politics, etc. Can contribute to very uncomfortable conversations and an even more uncomfortable social setting.

Why? Why can’t we all be open to each-others paths. Where one might not have a good experience in an area another might find that path a perfect fit.

Why be threatened by someones life choices unless one feels there is some “truth” that can invalidate their own personal choices or beliefs?

I have found I am happy with my “not so common” choices. But the only thing that makes it almost unbearable is others that seem threatened by an individuals choice for alternatives to the standards.

As I get older it also gets old to have to battle prejudice. I am not asking anyone to join an “alternative lifestyle cult”. I am simply asking for the right to sit next to a mind that is open to differences. Accepting where I am as I accept where they are. Without probing or negative comparison. Seeing more the similarities we share in our individual goals in life….not with the emphasis being on there is only one way to a goal and it is my way.

Just something to think about when you come across the “alternatives” to…. love, living, environment, schooling, religion, politics, and the list can go on and on……

Understand the person not just the subject matter.

Live to love and love to live……

Luv from Mee

I loved this talk. I think it really opens up discussion.

In the Jewish community the art of an evolving religion is natural.

Traditions stay intact but naturally differ on individual lifestyle or community.

It is a religion that is more devout to a peoples first than an obsession with God.

I like to think of the oneness of God also being viewed as a poetic term for a oneness that can be seen when many people come together for a goal to allow individuals to thrive and prosper, allowing the whole of a peoples to thrive and prosper……

It is not a “biblical” religion as it was considered long ago. But it is a rabbinical one. Even from the beginning much of the Torah was lived out through the Oral Laws. So it could be ever changing and not solid. The Oral Laws had to be written down because of things like the killing of the men that memorized the Oral Law for it to be passed down. That is the Mishnah (Oral Law). Rabbis wrote many commentaries on the Mishnah and Torah pertaining to Jewish Law, ethics, philosophy, customs and history. Which are found in the Talmud. A quick overveiw found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talmud

Rabbinical commentary brings to life ancient times and the challenges of those times when written, unifying us to a past we would not have understood without such deal-tailed accounts on daily/monthly/yearly life.

When studying these text it is easy to see the similarities and problems. Yet we have come so far and should be proud of how hard humanity has pushed itself. For the better and the worst.

I am glad to be where I am in this place and time. I am glad that I can be religious and observant but not be expected to be obsessed with God or even believe in him/her/it.

I love being apart of humanity and being Jewish and I hope you all find your place in this time without the fear of loosing your community if you believe different or being bullied into a belief system that does not let you use your mind.

Find your place and it will create peace for all. You are beyond worth it.

~Mee

At the end of this video it says: Live by faith not sight

…….I say live by sight and faith like they can not be separated from each other.

Sight can be used to let us find the entrance to the spaces that are in between

Those moments within the moments… not kept by the ticking of the clock

Faith is the emotional action that we are doing when we allow those moments to happen

The only way I can describe those spaces that are in between the elemental is that in those moments the logical mind that brought me first to that place is now humbled by the feeling of a perfect pause of time…..

We are a sum of those experiences…..don’t overlook the power of the experiences you have….they are always accompanied by those in between moments that have no words to describe them, not making them any less important. What is quiet and still can sometimes teach us more than what is loud and seems obvious…..

I hope you all let yourself experience those two parts of each moment

Love from Mee
