In recent years, Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) we are intensively socialized electricity-saving program from 17:00 until 22:00 o'clock. PLN reason to do this is for energy efficiency, especially in dealing with peak load at that hour. Therefore the problem of national energy consumption has to be solved. We need to understand, global energy demand in the next 30 years will be doubled each year.

In the next 40 years, more needs to be increased three-fold or energy equivalent to 20 billion tons of oil. It was during this according to Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates that energy consumption in 2025 was still dominated by fossil fuels, namely oil, natural gas, and coal.

The problem is the data according to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources also mentioned, oil reserves in Indonesia is only enough for 18 years, while natural gas can still be sufficient to 61 years. Then coal reserves estimated to last for another 147 years time.
