GHNP is recently added to list of National parks of India, located in kullu region in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It’s believed to be hemmed in on three sides by the gigantic peaks of the Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh’s GHNP certainly the place to go for a rendezvous with the natural world of these mountains.

The National Park has good wildlife population, especially of avifauna. Park comprises of Himalayan Tahr and apart from this the majority of wildlife is Snow leopard, musk deer, blue sheep, wolf, ibex, leopard, Rhesus macaque, common langur, muntjac, serow, Himalayan Black Bear and goral. The park vegetation is a diverse mix of ban oak forest, moist deodar forest and few more.

Ahead of November, and right up to April, heavy snowfall can obstruct roads and trails, in addition making it a little too chilly for comfort. Rainfall hits the park flanked by July and September, sometimes resulting in landslides and muddy trails. Accessibility is not so easy. Nearest airport to GHNP is Bhuntar near kullu at around 60 kms. Joginder Nagar near Mandi is the nearest rail head.

Dachigam National Park
