ecoVegan, My philosophy My life

2013-01-15T16:17:00.000-08:00

Say, I am not a super social media savvy person so that's why we have only maintained some basic social media profiles like facebook or twitter or youtube, etc.

It's also true for me personally, especially in the process of deleting all the contents that I have either uploaded or created or shared on facebook, I then learned a lot more about the security, privacy, and terms, etc. Let me tell you, it is scary. To me, everything I do, have an impact on some part of the business, and so is true in life.

Let me go back to Pinterest, and what I think about it:
1. I actually appreciate their translation for the terms & privacy. While I am able to read and understand English, legal verbiage is really not my expertise. Pinterest's terms & privacy gives you basic two lines of what each section is really about, in a lighthearted way.

2. Pinterest is not part of the Facebook!

3. Makes me learn new things every day. For example, now I will have to learn how to add the appropriate pin on our website and other social media profiles; let me just say, there's never one day i do the same thing at work!

Now, we also have a Pinterest board :) Welcome world of photos and vegan enthusiastic!

Design is an art

2012-11-29T17:16:00.000-08:00

every piece of element and placement require through thinking process
and adding or removing pieces will change the aesthetic that may or may not look attractive or to the point..

after spending an hour or so trying to adjust.. i then give up and decide maybe the best option is just not to change. I guess that's why I never finished my degree in Interior Design and now i give more kudos to the designers =D

Thanks Joo :)

Green Festival Time! Year 3

2012-11-07T16:52:00.000-08:00

It's been a while!
Actually, it will be three years that we are going to the Green Festival!

that was the picture from two years ago :p I know I know.. I never really like to show my face so nobody needs to know who I am online..

today I was talking to a client and she commented on how many people just give up easily and encouraged me to keep going with my smiles and positive attitude! Honestly, nothing is easy, but I suppose this is a test for me for my patience, love, and compassion, and I hope to learn from this journey!

will post pictures after the event... like... next year :p

Things to learn

2012-06-15T14:02:00.000-07:00

Appreciate Food. Period.

What does "All-Natural" means to you? or to consumers?

2012-06-05T16:09:00.001-07:00

I am seeing more and more "all natural" claim on the packaging or marketing statement. What does that mean to you and to the consumers?

It's funny and scary as I read...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_foods
"In some places, the term “natural” is defined and enforced. In others, such as the United States, it has no meaning."

http://www.delish.com/food/recalls-reviews/companies-struggle-with-the-definition-of-all-natural
The lack of clear definition leads Kashi and other companies being sued

http://www.naturalnews.com/021937.html

Don't be fooled by "all natural" claims on foods and grocery products

Last but not the least, this Honest Food guide that could be a good and handy references to take for grocery shopping!

Marketing

2012-05-25T11:39:00.001-07:00

Marketing is just a term, what's more important is the activities underlining ...

Today I learned, that I would like ecoVegan to become the leader in the specific niche market; so that's my to-do now- to figure the even more specific niche and raise the awareness the value our products provide! Stay tuned!

Funny I am using all these big words, but I think they do make sense now! Just have to execute well! Wish me luck!

Why responding to customers is important

2012-05-24T17:15:00.000-07:00

Please excuse my grammar errors, I know I probably have tons in a paragraph, so bare with me when you read.

Today I was looking over some stat for this blog and noticed some traffic, and ah-ha, here comes my thoughts of why responding to customers is important - especially regards to a neutral or negative feedback.

1. Because we care! - we care what our customers are telling us; whether it's a good compliment or some suggestion. We are listening and continuing to improve.

2. Because they care! - yes, we are all still human beings and we have the human natures, and wish to be respected. The golden phrase- treat others as if you wish to be treated.

3. Because it is the right thing to do! - when we receive any email inquiries, we do our best to respond within 48 hours or sooner to show we care and we respect and we value each one's opinion.

Bonus:
When responding, please also be positive and respectful to your customers and feature the important factors to encourage them to understand the situation- which will always be improvement.

Ok, I hope you understand now, and have a wonderful day!

What do I think?

2012-05-24T16:31:00.002-07:00

I think about a lot of things
mostly business related and how it does with regards to my spiritual journey, and the reason why we started this business- to have the actual tasty products at the hands of the consumers, so that there is no reason to not to go veg!

There are challenges at times; but as my friend said "we do our best, and God will take care of the rest"

I hope everyone else continues to think and do and act and speak positive!

Cheers!

continue to be positive

2012-04-27T16:11:00.001-07:00

even at the times that I don't think it's going to work, I will still keep it positive!

a couple things to remember

2012-02-15T15:18:00.000-08:00

What are the costs of doing it?
What are the costs of not doing it?
What are the consequences?

Good to keep in mind, and simply

P= R-E

Thanks Aven & Ian!

I wish, people, and general public, can observe our company name and the correct way of spelling...

it's simply e c o V e g a n

yes it's small letter e at the first letter (but heck, eBay is like that too, so get used to the creativity) and capitalized V, and it's one word, one word, one single word. Of course it's no grammatically correct but 80% of the company just come up with the company's name or brand or product names as they make up new words, that's not news, so get used to it and address us correctly, it's the right and polite way to do... that's it!

Non-GMO verification

2012-01-13T18:46:00.001-08:00

honestly, my opinion?
overrated (though retailers are apparently giving high thoughts on this)

why?
1. they ask for spec sheet for chili, laver, potato, white sesame.. - what kind of spec are you looking for, specifically?!

Sales Sales Sales!!

2012-01-10T16:23:00.001-08:00

12% off!!!!!

Say no more

They may say what they want

2012-01-10T16:22:00.000-08:00

sometimes, people just don't understand the big picture and say what they want and more than half is not true.. it is sad but i don't blame them; it's just perspective, and the perspective they don't get to see...
i pray that i may always understand the big and overall picture before i speak; and i pray that i have that wisdom to know what's true.

New Year, New Start

2012-01-10T16:16:00.000-08:00

I shall say something positive to start with.

1. I am appreciative of the people I get to work with, staff, friends, contractors, vendor, customers, etc; I feel we are on the same path to the happier planet through this journey
2. We are growing strong and people are rapidly changing their ways of eating; it is a long process and i am hopeful with the tremendous work everyone is putting in, we shall see the world vegan, world peace soon
3. Just being a happier being (not sure whether it's the mentality switch or yoga... )

I hope things (and financial) will stay positive for this year as we grow to serve more people all plant-based, better food!

I am thankful

2011-11-10T14:16:00.000-08:00

from SL: I am very fortunate and thankful to work with ecoVegan and the jobs I do here; sometimes situation can be tough and not expected, and I am grateful for every opportunity that's given to me for me to learn and grow and be a better person and do better things for the world! Thanks again for everyone that's been part of us! <3 <3 <3

this is what I posted on facebook, and this is truly how I feel about it too!
these days I feel very grateful for all the people around me, family & friends, lover & coworker, our supplier & customers... everything seems to be well (ok.. that's a bit optimistic..., but at least it somehow feels that way, I am just positive thinking like that!!) and have realistic and optimistic goals and out look! I am happy, and more that I am thankful!

Thank you God & angels, thank you all who's there to support and watch and encourage us, I know one day soon we will have world vegan & world peace, and that's truly what I seek. May that one day come very soon!

Has it been a month?

2011-10-31T10:21:00.000-07:00

oh wow.. so unbelievable that I have not blogged for a month; perhaps these days are just a bit too crazy. First there was the Portland VegFest which we had a blast, and then SF's World Veg Fest; these two results the ecoVegan experience- Veg Festivals with ecoVegan; all I can say is our peeps did a great job!!

Then visiting the factory (as well as family) in Taiwan for a week; before I even unpacked, I was already on the road to East Coast visiting my buddies and NYC (must say the skyline is just beautiful) and we are lucky that a week after we are gone, east coast got some serious snowstorm... hope everyone there is ok!

Container will be coming soon while we will be busy prepping for Green Festival (come visit us in the organic food section)! It's a eventful two months!! and shhh, new products will be coming soon too!! <3 <3 <3

He Lives In You

2011-08-18T10:34:00.000-07:00

Currently Listening to Lion King's "He Lives In You"
Such an encouraging song!
"He" is the spirit that we all have, that's our highest and most admirable self that one day we will be; and if we just continue to look within and find the enlightened self, we will forever live fulfilling and with happiness.
