As always, it's been way too long since my last podcast. This one is a little different! I am podcasting parts of presentation at the Georgia Educational Technology Conference. You'll see all my slides from my Keynote as I talk about them. I have to say, the process of going from Apple's Keynote to podcast pictures was incredibly easy. The presentation is on RSS. Many of you know a lot about it, but hopefully you'll pick up something new in this episode. To listen & watch,
Download RSSS_Presentation_GaETC.m4a (7311.3K)

Also, here's a PDF of the handout I made available to my audience.

This podcast is an interview with a lifelong teacher who happens to be my wife's Grandmother. She taught elementary school in Florence, South Carolina. The interview was done as part of a requirement of a course I took in grad school around 1989 and describes what school was like for her growing up and as a teacher. It is rather long, about 30 minutes, and the quality is not the best due to the hum from the phone line. Near the end, she does talk a bit about computers and education, but only briefly. Regardless, I think you'll find her experiences enlightening. Unfortunately for all of us, she left us just last week. Eleanor Anderson, February 13, 1911 - May 10, 2006.

Apologies for such a long time between posts! I've been quite busy building a web site to support my presentation at the Georgia Educational Technology Conference next week. The presentation is called "What's a podcast and what should I do about it?" It's designed to introduce podcasting, help find podcasts for use in the classroom, and assist in creating a basic podcast. Fortunately, I was able to stand on the very broad shoulders of many who came before me. Here's the link to the site.
