<h4>Responsibilities</h4>
<p>The <strong>Senior Account Director</strong> will work with and lead a team of social media specialists planning and executing leading-edge social media programs to support client business objectives. Responsibilities include:</p>

<li>Support the Vice President in management and leadership of the broader account team.</li>
<li>Set the tone for staff in terms of providing client service and exceeding their needs and expectations.</li>

<li>Work in partnership with the team to develop strategic programming and oversee successful execution of projects.</li>
<li>Oversee coordination of timing, resourcing of projects; ensure integration with other account teams to drive efficient, effective coordination.</li>
<li>Directly supervise account staff, including performance appraisals, hiring, coaching and feedback and providing career development opportunities.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Understand clients’ strategies, marketing and business goals.</li>
<li>Understand key client industry issues relating to products, product categories, technologies, primary and potential competition and general issues facing the industry.</li>

<h4>Qualifications</h4>
<p>The <strong>Senior Account Director</strong> will ideally have at least 10 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Agency-side experience is essential; experience in social media within an agency environment is a plus.</p>

<p>The Director, Human Resources supporting our Vancouver and Calgary offices at Edelman Canada will be responsible for working with our employees, HR team members and senior managers/executives to support our priorities relating to talent management, recruitment, employee relations and retention. You will be actively partnering with our team leaders to build high performing teams that consistently deliver excellent results, while helping to create an environment where employees can learn and develop. You will also be responsible for executing on the delivery of quality HR programs and recruitment initiatives.</p>

<h4>Specific Responsibilities Include:</h4>
<ul>
<li>Proactively lead strategic and consultative HR services for your client groups</li>
<li>Partner with team leaders and executives to support the business strategies, with a key focus on the ‘people element’ of the business</li>
<li>Drive talent management and professional development throughout the organization, and at all levels</li>
<li>Strategically lead recruitment activities for all open roles</li>
<li>Work with management to identify practical solutions to complex and diverse HR issues</li>
<li>Ensure adherence to current HR policies and procedures</li>
<li>Keep up to date with employment laws, current trends and determine impact on existing policies and procedures</li>
<li>Manage Company&#8217;s annual performance review process, with a goal to improve upon the current systems; providing training, coaching and insight as appropriate</li>

<li>Work with managers to resolve performance and employee relations issues as they arise</li>
<li>Play a key role as an agent of change during transformation within the organization, providing change management and HR support</li>
<li>Working closely with broader HR team to provide input and where applicable, customization, to enterprise wide HR programs including compensation, talent management, etc.</li>
<li>Administer payroll, create payroll related reports for senior management, and administer employee benefits</li>

<h4>Qualifications:</h4>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management (and/or equivalent)</li>
<li>7+ years of experience in the field of HR</li>
<li>CHRP designation</li>
<li>Agency, Professional Services or Consultancy industry experience is a plus</li>
<li>Expertise in partnering with internal clients and building credibility at all levels</li>
<li>Able to provide consultative advice to management and employees on all aspects of professional development, organizational change and performance management</li>
<li>A proven leader with experience in effectively managing HR programs and initiatives</li>
<li>Excellent sourcing, networking and recruitment skills</li>
<li>Strong conflict resolution and employee relations skills, with the ability to remain objective</li>
<li>Current knowledge of Canadian HR Legislation and employment laws</li>

<p>The Social Media Community Manager will help develop and execute content strategies for our clients’ branded social media channels, monitor for issues and respond to comments from the community in a timely manner.</p>
<p>SMCM will be on point to measure community metrics to gauge program effectiveness, provide feedback to client teams to optimize programs in real time, and prepare reports for clients.</p>
<p>SMCM will play a key role developing, executing and optimizing Facebook ad and Google Adwords campaigns that promote clients’ social media content and channels.</p>
<p>The candidate would possess in-depth knowledge of social media and be adept at leveraging their knowledge/experience to communicate strategically on behalf of large consumer brands.</p>

<li>Participate in strategy development for social media components of our clients’ public engagement campaigns.</li>

<li>Monitor clients’ social media channels, initiate conversations with and respond to community comments referencing established brand and community guidelines.</li>
<li>Generate, collect and analyze metrics to identify trends and themes, optimize program strategy and content and prepare social media reports for clients.</li>
<li>Keep abreast of social media marketing trends, research new channels and identify opportunities to connect the public with our clients’ brands and programs, and share key insights/learnings with the team.</li>
<li>Advise on targeted digital ad buys, execute and optimize Facebook ad and Google AdWords campaigns.</li>

<h4>Qualifications</h4>

<li>4 + years of professional experience, with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a social media community manager/moderator or similar experience.</li>
<li>Experience executing and optimizing Facebook ad and Google AdWords campaigns.</li>

<h4>Preferred Qualifications</h4>
<p>S/he will have top-level managerial skills with P&amp;L and operational management experience in agency business. This position will assume operational responsibility for a designated group, unit or office. S/he will have experience in developing and introducing new tools and growing new business with a record of increasing revenue from key clients, and a solid record of low client turnover. S/he will be able to attract, grow and retain key talent across the practice. S/he will have exemplary leadership and communication skills and motivational techniques, as well as experience and success in creating a collaborative and respectful environment. S/he will be able to clearly articulate Edelman’s intellectual property and its relevance to public engagement. This position requires a strategic leader and thinker who is well connected within the industry. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. An advanced degree is a plus but not mandatory. International experience is a plus.<span id="more-4907"></span></p>

This is an amazing opportunity for a proven professional with experience and expertise in communications, public affairs, crisis communications and public relations within the energy and natural resources sectors. The ideal candidate will understand how to influence political, media and stakeholder environments, while also having experience working in a corporate communications and public relations capacity.</p>
<p>This role is for you if you have an aptitude and interest in growing our business and representing a new and different point of view (public engagement) in the marketplace. This role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities including being a partner in growing the business; a counselor providing strategic advice to clients; and a practitioner, executing tactics and programs on behalf of our clients.</p>
<p>We are looking for a confident and seasoned public relations professional who is comfortable working with executives and thrives in a results-driven and fast-paced environment. Media and community relations, crisis and corporate communications, emergency preparedness and new business development experience is a must. The successful candidate will play a significant role in growing our practice, providing strategic counsel to clients, while managing a profile of highly reputable brands.</p>

<h4>RESPONSIBILITIES:</h4>
<ul>
<li>Lead and direct client service, new business development and quality control of account teams by serving as a key interface with clients</li>
<li>Successfully manage communications and public relations programs and strategies for a reputable client portfolio</li>
<li>Provide leadership in the day-to-day account activity, media relations and strategic client counseling</li>
<li>Build strong relationships with clients while growing the business, and serve as the account team manager on multiple client accounts</li>
<li>Identify, respond to and lead new business pitches</li>
<li>Support RFP submissions and new client pitch processes and teams through research, brainstorming, industry and competitive analysis and stakeholder assessments</li>
<li>Strategically resource projects to effectively manage client expectations</li>
<li>Coach and mentor junior team members by proactively delegating work and providing frequent and constructive feedback</li>
<li>Manage billing, profitability and client reporting</li>
<li>Provide project management, strategic and tactical implementation of client programs, events and media relations campaigns, leading materials development, media strategy and results tracking</li>
<li>Supervise writing and editing according to clients’ marketing and business goals</li>
<li>Manage billing and client contract negotiations</li>
</ul>
<h4>QUALIFICATIONS:</h4>
<ul>
<li>15+ years progressive experience in public affairs and/or corporate communications, with a background in reputation and issues management, emergency preparedness and crisis counsel, media relations, public relations and new business development</li>
<li>Experience working in a consultancy capacity</li>
<li>Ability to lead and execute complex and high-profile communications programs for clients to advance their business and brands</li>
<li>Demonstrated skills in strategic communications, with a solid track record of building positive relationships and networks with media, clients, community, government and key interest groups</li>
<li>Able to develop revenue by growing profitable client relationships</li>
<li>Understanding of how communications and public relations teams work from both client and agency-side</li>
<li>Record of successfully stewarding client budgets through planning, resource management, forecasting and vendor negotiations</li>
<li>Experience dealing with senior executives in a complex, competitive and dynamic environment</li>
<li>Superb people manager able to attract, motivate, retain, empower and coach staff</li>
<li>Entrepreneurial and professional with impeccable written, verbal communication and presentation skills</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of current communications strategies, specifically crisis and issues management</li>
<li>A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university is preferred</li>
<li>Energy and/or natural resources industry experience would be viewed as an asset</li>
