We recently helped Aimhigher East Midlands launch their initiative to promote an XML-based data-source to help students, practitioners and organisations to access the latest course information in real-time.

XCRI is an XML standard for course advertising data and is used to share information about courses between organisations. Organisations such as the National Learning Directory and UCAS have plans to support and implement XCRI imports to their websites in the near future.

Connexions Educational Game

So you want to engage 14-15 year olds on their future career options. You want them to have a good understanding of the directions available after leaving school, you want to get across that not everybody is going to win X-Factor, be a Premier League star or become a WAG.

Developed for Connexions Lincolnshire and Rutland, for use throughout their counties’ secondary schools, we designed, developed, play tested and produced this immersive board game – which in the space of 20 minutes playing time, amused, informed and educated students on the key skills they would require to follow their chosen career path.

British Renal Society Exhibition

We were commissioned by Fresenius Medical Care to design and build their exhibition stands for the annual BRS/RA Conference.

Our brief was to create bespoke exhibition stands for both the Dialysis and Pharmaceutical divisions of their business. Both stands needed to be distinctly different but still communicate that both aspects were part of the same Fresenius family. After agreeing on the best modular system to fit their requirements, we sketched out some ideas, before settling on a preferred concept and beginning to create the model in a 3D package.

To ensure that every aspect of the design was approved before producing the graphics and commencing construction, we rendered out the final concept for client approval, ensuring the finished artwork was as lifelike as possible and enabling the client to rotate the design 360º on screen, allowing them to approve the final design in confidence.

Earn While You Learn

We enjoyed getting involved with the National Earn while you Learn initiative. Working with a classroom full of enthusiastic school kids in developing the visual direction of the Earn while you Learn prospectus was a great experience, made even better by the unanimous thumbs up from everybody at the final designs.

Man on the Moon promotion

It was time to get our digital paintbrushes out again when we were asked to create a visual identity for a project simply called ‘Man on the Moon’. We had no choice but to give this job to our Creative Director, who wanted to be astronaut as a six year old (and still does quite a few years later).

MDAUK Flood Appeal

The Midlands Doctors Association UK, is a not for profit organisation that was originally formed to build a charitable hospital in the area devastated by the 2005 Pakistan earthquake. After catastrophic floods in the region in 2010, MDAUK organised a huge fund raising campaign and we were happy to get involved, producing literature and banners to raise awareness of their relief efforts and maximise charitable donations to help the victims of this devastating flood.

Nephrocare Patient Guide

We worked with Nephrocare to develop their UK patient guide for renal patients, the finished guide covers everything that a new renal patient needs to know about their condition and how the Nephrocare programme will help them manage their condition, from diet to dialysis.

Bramcote College Branding

We recently worked with Bramcote Sixth Form College to develop their brand, and create relevant, targeted, marketing items to promote the college to local pupils.

Working in conjunction with one of the college’s students, a logo was developed for use on all the items, and once approved, we created concepts for a variety of promotional items, producing their first prospectus, student hoodies and display banners for use at recruitment fairs.

The Henries Tickets

After designing the tickets for both the Retas and the Henries in 2009 (think the Oscars of the greetings card world), we were delighted that Max Publishing once again asked us to take up the challenge of providing something truly memorable for the people attending the event. This year, our Henries invitation design is a gold-foiled sleeve (four-colour process print, single-colour Pantone 805U internally) on GF Smiths’ Silkweave Tapestry stock, encompassing a ticket printed by the Sherwood Press on GF Smiths’ ‘Naturalis Vanilla Smooth’ stock (again gold-foiled, with Pantone 805U and Process Black print).
