Here are a few sneak peeks from their wedding day. Can’t wait to share the rest with you guys in a few weeks. Julia was diagnosed with MS in 2003 and since then she has been active in fund raising for the MS Society of Canada. Here are a few photographs from our commercial photography shoot in Edmonton last month.

If you can overlook the fact that there is still a bit of snow on the ground, Spring is apparently making it’s way to Edmonton. Spring’s arrival also marks the beginning of wedding season for us and Nicohl and Tim’s wedding is coming up in just a few short weeks. We met up with them a couple of weeks ago on a snowy Sunday afternoon to photograph their engagement session.

Nicohl and Tim were so much fun to photograph and Sarah and I had a great time watching them joke around and tease one another. We did most of their shoot indoors since the temperature was still on the chilly side but we did get them to step outside for a few photographs while large soft snow flakes fell to the ground which resulted in some magical photos.

Camera Campus is a regular podcast that features discussions with photographers on a variety of topics ranging from gear and tech talk to discussions about the art of photography, business, and marketing. Keith and I sat down for about a 1/2 hour over Skype to chat about destination wedding photography and our experiences over in India photographing Shirin & Bansi’s wedding.

The day started at the hotel where we grabbed a few quick photographs of the handsome groom before we headed to the palace for Bansi’s Baraat ceremony. Bansi rode in on a beautiful white horse as friends and family danced and had a great time leading the processional from the main palace to the boat launch.

Bansi was met at the boat launch by Shirin’s family where he received blessings and was welcomed into the family. I love this shot below of Shirin’s mom giving Bansi a tweak on his nose.

We took the boat across the lake to the historic Jagmandir Palace which was built in the 1500′s as a summer palace and place of refuge for the Royal Family. Today the Palace is a historic tourist site and hotel.When we pulled up the Palace guards were all sitting on top of the amazing stone elephant sculptures that lined the front of the palace.

We only had a couple of minutes with Shirin before the ceremony got underway which was just enough time to squeeze in a couple of quick portraits with our stunning bride.

Shirin was carried by her brother and other family members to the alter where the ceremony was performed as the sun set.

After the ceremony was complete, Shirin and Bansi changed outfits and got ready for dinner and speeches.

After dinner, we had time for a brief session with the bride and groom and used the Palace as our backdrop to create some dramatic nighttime images.

Sarah and I had such a great time photographing this fabulous destination wedding and we can’t wait to return to India again to photograph another beautiful couple. Thanks again to Shirin & Bansi and your families for taking such good care of us and making us feel so welcome during your special day. We hope you will enjoy the images we created for you for years to come.

Heritage Angus beef patty topped with triple smoked bacon, potato chips, five onion dip, chipotle mayo, lettuce, and tomatoes on a fresh baked bun for only $13. Once again Garner has chosen to support the Youth Emergency Shelter Society and $1 from every burger sold will go to help YESS. Each burger also comes with a fun Kazoo which makes a great gift for the kids or a great noisemaker at parties or around the office.

I love it when I get to create images that are going to be used in advertising and it’s even better when the client you get to work gets into the shoot. Garner has such a great personality and brings his creativity and energy to everything he does. We had a great time experimenting with a few different ideas and at some point during the shoot the idea came up to try and make the burger levitate. How did we do it? I’d love to get your comments on how you think we pulled it off and made the burger appear as though it was floating in the air.

We are Edmonton Wedding Photographers who love to tell your story with our photography. Last week we shared Part I of Shirin & Bansi’s fabulous destination wedding in Udaipur India which featured some engagement photographs that we created for them.

For Part II we are sharing some of our favourite images from the Haldi and Mehndi ceremonies which were held at the beautiful Sheraton Plaza in Udaipur.

The morning started with Bansi’s Haldi ceremony followed by Shirin’s Haldi ceremony. Both were very colorful events that were held in one of the conference rooms at the hotel.

The Haldi ceremony is traditionally where both the bride and groom receive blessings from friends and family and Haldi (a mixture of turmeric, sandle wood, and rose water) is applied to the face, arms and feet. The mixture is intended to give the skin a clean, glowing complexion for the wedding ceremony. It is also supposed to help the skin better absorb the henna during the Mehndi ceremony which followed.

Following the Haldi ceremonies in the morning, we grabbed some lunch and prepared to photograph Shirin’s Mehndi ceremony and the Sangeet reception that followed. Shirin had her Mehndi done in her hotel room and the two talented artists worked on her hands and feet for close to two and a half hours before we headed down to the ballroom for the Sangeet party.

The Sangeet party featured more Mehndi for the guests, a glass blowing station where they made colorful bracelets, fabulous Indian food, and traditional Rajasthani entertainment. Here are some of our favorites from Shirin’s Mehndi ceremony.

Back in December, Sarah and I had the honor of being hired to photograph Shirin and Bansi’s wedding in India! You may recall seeing a few photographs of their destination wedding on the blog a few weeks ago. Since Shirin & Bansi live in Calgary, we weren’t able to get together with them to share the rest of their images until this past weekend. Now that they have seen them, we can now share them with our readers.

We flew from Edmonton to India just before Christmas and met up with Amanda & Sumantra who’s wedding we photographed in Edmonton in the summer. It was great seeing them again and having the opportunity to do a bit of sightseeing together in New Delhi before we flew to Udaipur where the wedding was taking place. We even managed to survive a wild Tuk Tuk ride and crossed a busy 8 lane road with no injuries!

When we arrived in Udaipur, we met up with Shirin and Bansi to tour the venue where the wedding was taking place and to do some engagement photographs. Their wedding ceremony took place at the beautiful Jagmandir Palace which is situated in the middle of lake Pichola in Udaipur city. It is a marble and sandstone palace built in the early 17th century. We were able to spend a bit of time scouting the location and snuck in a few photographs while they attended to some last minute details. Here are a few images from their engagement session.
