Cada grup classe s'uneix per intentar construir un joc de cartes amb el major número possible de verbs &lt;i&gt;in english, of course&lt;/i&gt;. Primer fem una llista a la pissarra dels verbs quye els alumnes coneixen, un per un. Cadascú serà repsonsable de fer-ne una carta, anotant el verb en &lt;i&gt;english&lt;/i&gt;, en majúscula, la traducció en petit, minúscula i català i un dibuix el més gran possible. Tractan-se d'un joc de cartes, cal posar atenció en seguir el mateix format, avisant-los que descartaré aquelles que no el segueixen. Així els mateixos comproven la feina dels companys més despistats. A tercer vam estar miran uns vídeos que eren un monument a la paciència: nens que passaven dies construint files llarguíssimes de peces de dòmino, per després, en tan sols uns segons, fer-les caure. Vam decidir que nosaltres també ho volíem provar. Ens vam adonar que, encara més que el col·locar bé les peces, el treball en equip i el respecte eren la part més complicada de tot plegat... . A la pissarra vam repassar les nacionalitats en anglès per arribar a la conclusió que hi havia paraules que no es traduïen, com per exemple &lt;em&gt;collage&lt;/em&gt;. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
L'activitat començava aquí: en petit grups, els alumnes havien de fer un collage de la mida d'una cartolina. Els vaig demanar que havien de representar una escena on diversos personatges parlaven entre ells utilitzant les bafarades del còmic. Davant una bona pila de revistes, van començar a retallar imatges que els agradaven o que trobaven divertides per anar construint els seus megacollages. Treballar amb fang no és gens fàcil: "Clay is not an easy material!", els deia als alumnes. Intentar construir formes humanes que s'aguantessin de peu ja va ser tot un repte per molts dels alumnes, fer figures per un pessebre va fer perdre la paciència a una bona colla d'ells. Un cop assecat, el fang es torna delicat i es trenca amb facilitat. De totes maneres, alguns van ser capaços d'acabar-les amb èxit. A les imatges en veureu unes quantes. Aquarel·les, canyetes, cartolina i pulmons. Aquest és el material que cal per fer aquesta típica activitat. Als nens els encanta veure l'efecte d'explosió que fa la pintura quan bufen de cop (hard or slow)... Comencem anotant a la pissarra coses que poden fer amb la boca sota la pregunta: "What can you do with your mouth?". Fem una llista dels verbs i encerclo BLOW (bufar). Demano als alumnes que copiïn la llista de verbs a la seva cartolina i que hi pintin a sobre. Aquesta és un joc on pot participar una pila de gent. Nosaltres el fem amb els grups classe. L'objectiu consisteix en fer la cadena més llarga possible sense que es trenqui. Utilitzant fotocòpies sobrants, els alumnes fan tires de paper i les van enganxant per construir cadenes. Suggereixo als alumnes que s'organitzin i en pocs minuts ja han muntat una cadena de producció! Donem unes làmines de cartolina als alumnes i unes bones tisores. Aquesta pràctica serveix per refinar l'habilitat dels alumnes a l'hora de retallar. El joc consisteix en transformar la superficie d'una làmina DIN-A4 en la tira de paper més llarga possible. Després de retallar unes caixes de cereals, els alumnes comencen a 'col·leccionar' tots els colors que poden. Fan un 'Colour menu', els alumnes intenten anomenar i registrar tots els colors que troben. Utilitzen 'dark or light' (fosc o clar) per matisar-los. La segona part de l'exercici consisteix en barrejar-ne dos fent un &lt;i&gt;plat combinat&lt;/i&gt;, una barreja de colors, experimentant així les la composició dels colors primaris i secundaris. Com que a primer tenim esperit de músics, hem construit unes trompetes amb trossets de cel·lofana. L'any passat&amp;nbsp;Cicle Superior va baixar al pati a crear les seves obres d'art gegants amb guixos. Aquest any, ho hem volgut provar a tercer. Vam estar tafanejant fotografies de l'artista Robin Rhode i vam crear les nostres pròpies propostes, a partir d'esbossos que vam portar a la pràctica al pati. En aquesta pràctica els alumnes van intentar crear tonalitats de color barrejant dos colors. Vam començar fent un recull a la pissarra dels 'opposites' (contraris) que els alumnes coneixien. El 'black and white' és un exemple que sempre surt. A partir d'aquests dos començava la pràctica. Després de dibuixar la graella de quadres amb l'ajuda del regle i sobre una cartolina reciclada, agafaven 'wax colours'. Els alumnes de primer hem fet un mural per celebrar l'arribada de la tardor. Hem aprofitat per deixar escrita la cançó de la tardor que cantem aquests dies... in English! Isaac Newton defined the theory of colour. With this experiment we discovered which are the primary colours (blue cyan, red magenta and yellow) and what happens if you mix them. We mixed them using wax colours on paper getting secondary colours (violet purple, green and orange). We also checked why Newton defined that the mixture of the three primary colours make white (when talking about light colours). Durant un parell de mesos a les hores d'Arts vam construir unes maquetes d'edificis romans. A la classe de medi van estar estudiant l'època romana i va sortir l'idea de fer unes maquetes d'alguns dels seus edificis més representatius. Using toothpicks and small plasticine balls, pupils in small groups build structures. They need to organize tasks, some create the balls while others assemble the elements. 5 minutes to the end of the session, (usually about 30'), I asked them to stand behind the structure so we can take a picture. Aquesta és una activitat que vam començar l'anys passat i que segur que repetirem. Després de treballar el còmic vam engegar el nostre propi comicbook. El curs passat vam publicar els tres primers exemplars!&lt;br /&gt;

Tots els alumnes de Cicle Mitjà i Superior treballen els seus còmics en anglès. Els passen a retolador i llavors els fotocopiem, una còpia per a cada classe. En grups i amb una càmera digital, vaig demanar als alumne que escollisin algú o algun lloc concret de l'escola per fer-ne una descripció. Cadascú feia 10 fotografies i després, tot el grup junt, seleccionaven les 5 millors, descartant les més desenfocades, fosques... En parelles un dia i individualment el següent, fem uns exercicis per aprendre a utlitzar amb cura els pinzells. "&lt;em&gt;You don't press the brush hard, soft, mix soft." &lt;/em&gt;Cal que facin la mescla aigua-pigment amb cura, suaument, amb la punta del pinzell i repetint el procés: "Water, mix, mix, mix, soft, soft, soft, water, mix...." Els hi&amp;nbsp;dic diverses vegades fins que ells ho repeteixen mentre reprodueixen el procés. Una vegada tenen la punta del pinzell força opaca, comencem l'exercici en un full qualevol. Des d'una cantonada es tracta de, ara un ara l'altre, anar fent un caminet sense aixecar el pinzell, lentament i d'una sola tirada, fins que s'acabi la pintura del pinzell. Aquest any ens han instal·lat una fotocopiadora nova que és una delícia. Després de superar la fase d'assimilació del seu funcionament, ja li estem treient suc! A les imatges adjuntes en veurem uns exemples:&lt;br /&gt;

THE NEW POKEMON BOOK OF THIRD GRADE. Els nens i nenes de tercer han fet un llibre de nous pokemons, inventats, amb la desripció i elsseus poders escrits en anglès, of course. Cada alumne ha dissenyat, dibuixat i escrit un pokemon, pel que cada llibre, te tans pokemons com alumnes a classe.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
THE CITYMAP BOOK. Els alumnes de quart, van dissenyar els mapes d'unes ciutats inventades. Vam posar els noms dels edificis més significatius, dels espais públics, dels carrers... Aquests mapes els feien per parelles. Vam recollir-los tots, vam preprarar un index i a fotocopiar!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
ARTS&amp;COMICS. Aquí participen tots els alumnes, preparen un còmic i publiquem un número de la revista per cada 20 que recullo. Ens faig unacòpia per cada classe del que se'n fa responsable un nen o nena. Per fer aquest cantaire cal: un rotlle de paper higiènic, un mitjó de nen vell, una mica de cordill, una fotocòpia d'una partitura, papers de colors, pintura, retolador negre&amp;nbsp;i tisores. &lt;br /&gt;

Pas a pas:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;Pintar el rotlle de paper higiènic&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Un cop sec, enganxa la cara que hauràs dibuixat sobre paper de color&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Retalla els guants del paper de color&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Retalla un tros de la partitura i doblega'l per la meitat&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Enganxa la partitura als guants i aquests al rotlle&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Retalla el mitjó per la meitat i lliga'l al rotlle, aquest serà el barret&lt;/li&gt;
