Friday Discussion Week 1: The West Culture vs. The East Culture

What are your thoughts on the following statements ?

The Western Culture promotes individualism i.e. encouraging people to pursue personal fulfillment and emphasizes individual liberty.

Eastern Cultures promote a more collective sense of self in which people feel more closely tied to their families and social groups, and the divorce rates in such cultures (such as Japan) are much lower than they are in the United States

Educating Muslimahs is an exciting endeavor aimed at creating a desire for knowledge and learning amongst Muslim women.

In Islam, seeking knowledge has been made compulsory on every Muslim man and woman. Educating Muslimahs seeks to make this path to knowledge easier for you.

Educating Muslimahs believes that education is not limited to Islamic knowledge only but also includes topics such as politics, health, beauty and spirituality, to name a few.

Our plan of action includes informative articles, expert advice on serious matters, competitions with prizes, fun activities, photos, videos and lots more insha allah ta’la !

Though primarily focused towards Muslim women, we ask Muslim brothers to also get involved so we can further our understanding of issues based on their thoughts and feedback.

We ask for your continued support in this project. You can help us by making du'a for us, spreading the word to your friends and family, providing us with your comments, suggestions and feedback. We look forward to hearing from you !
