<description><![CDATA[<table><tbody><tr> </td></tr><tr> <td valign="top" align="left"><br><font size=1>Responsibilities:</font></td></tr><tr> <td valign="top" align="left">GENERAL OVERVIEW<br><br>Under the general direction of the Project Manager, HealthStream, the Educational Technologies Project Specialist, HealthStream will:<br><br>Provide assistance in the day to day running of HealthStream learning management system to ensure normal functioning for the BWH community. Will also provide training, as necessary for BWH administrators and publishers. Will help support educational needs for various programs as needed.<br><br>Assist with the creation of online courses, beginning with the instructional design phase, and continuing through the production and implementation phase of online course creation. As a member of a small team, the Educational Technologies Specialist will support the department's mission to facilitate educational opportunities for managers, supervisors and employees and clinical staff. This position will specifically focus on the development of an e-learning curriculum.<br><br>Requires an individual with strong organizational skills, desire to learn new technologies, ability to work in varied and busy atmosphere and an individual who can independently organize and prioritize the workload to support the goals of the Department of Educational Technologies.  Maturity, discretion and an ability to maintain confidentiality are of utmost importance.<br><br><b>PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b><br>1. Assist in the day-to-day operations of the HealthStream, the learning management system (LMS). Stay up-to-date on new products and changes to the Learning Management System, and work directly with HealthStream as needed.<br>2. Serve as general contact for questions and issues regarding a.) learning management classes, b.) the LMS software and the general program for BWH HealthStream customers.<br>3. Schedule and coordinate routine training sessions, orientations, and other meetings as necessary for staff throughout the hospital and affiliates when pertaining to the LMS and its requirements.<br>4. Develop and provide training for new administrators, publishers, and students as needed.<br>5. Attend meetings as required. Hospital representative at routine and ad hoc meetings with other hospital departments, outside agencies, as well as software vendors.  <br>6. Participate in department professional development in-service education as needed.<br>7. Create online learning modules using industry standard software, including Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Connect Professional, Adobe Presenter as well as others as the program develops.<br>8. Collaborate with subject matter experts and provide guidance on instructional design services during the creation of the online learning modules.<br>9. Provide instruction and education to subject matter experts, whenever necessary on the use of simple software applications including Adobe Captivate, Presenter, and Connect professional.<br>10. Deploy the newly created courses into the HealthStream learning management system.<br>11. Work with vendors according to the institutional relationships, adhering to established turn-around times and quality control standards.<br>12. Run various HealthStream reports as necessary for a global view of completion status, as well as supporting senior management reporting needs as requested.<br>13. Support maintenance of hospital policies and procedures as they relate to Educational Technologies systems.<br>14. Perform all additional department duties as assigned. </td></tr><tr> <td valign="top" align="left"><br><font size=1>Requirements:</font></td></tr><tr> <td valign="top" align="left"><b>QUALIFICATIONS:</b><br>1. Bachelorand#x2019;s degree required, preferably in a field of education and training.<br>2. 1-2 years experience in training and education.<br>3. 3-5 years experience in a healthcare setting desirable.<br>4. Experience in instructional design for the web desirable.<br>5. Proficient in PC Operating Systems. Apple experience desirable.<br>6. Familiar with Adobe Dreamweaver, Connect Professional, Presenter, and Microsoft SharePoint desirable.<br><br>SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:<br>1. Ability to work well with all levels of personnel.<br>2. Strong organizational skills required to keep a very large and complex system running efficiently.<br>3. Ability to identify problems with the LMS and in the tracking and reporting process. Problem solving skills needed to resolve any problem as they arise.<br>4. Comfortable running training sessions in front of large groups of staff.<br>5. Must have proven ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.<br>6. Competent in Microsoft Office applications.<br>7. Knowledge of HTML and web authoring tools<br>8. Promotes and maintains a professional demeanor both personally and for the hospital.<br>9. Ability to negotiate with customers and vendors to ensure reasonable expectations are set and achieved.<br>10. Must be able to function independently and perform routine department procedures without supervision.<br><br><b>WORKING CONDITIONS:</b><br>1. Pleasant, professional <b>working conditions</b> requiring professional demeanor and appearance. <br>2. Busy office environment with frequent deadlines, connected to credentialing. <br>3. 75-80% computer terminal work.<br>4. Expectation for work to be conducted in office, on site.<br>PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:<br>1. Completion of all duties, as noted above in a timely and professional manner.<br>2.
