The campus was moved to its current location about 1/2 hour by car outside of Chicago, in Lisle, IL in 1901. St. Procopius College changed its name to Illinois Benedictine College in 1971, and once again in 1996 to Benedictine University. Baker started its long history as two separate entities, Muskegon College, which was founded in 1888, and Baker business University in 1911. In 1965 the two schools combined management under Robert Jewell of Muskegon, and formally merged as Baker Junior College in 1974. Animal Behavior College followed in the footsteps of ABTAs success and quickly became a household name in pet trainer education in North America. Out of the aver 6,000 students that Berkeley has served, over 60% of them have been women, and a majority come from diverse ethnic backgrounds other than white, with over 30% being African American. Founded in 1906 as Childers University with only a handful of students and a parcel of church land that was funded with a mere $2000, the school now boasts several campus programs with a wide variety of central academic fields to choose from.

Initially starting out as a primary and secondary education school, the Institute was accredited to deliver courses at the junior college degree level in 1914, and senior college accreditation was secured in 1919. Founded in 1975 as an institute that trained local students to be paralegals, the school has added several programs over the years. Founded by Simon Green Atkins in 1892, as the Slater Industrial Academy, the school began in one room with one teacher and 25 students. The state of North Carolina recognized the school in 1895 and it was chartered by the state in 1897, as the Slater Industrial and State Normal School. The college was founded in Denver, Colorado in 1953, as the Radio and Television Repair Institute. In 1958, with the expansion of the electronics curriculum the name of the college was changed to the National Electronics Institute (NEI). A university with no boundaries, Western Governors University is a non-profit online university that began in 1995.  It was an idea by Utah governor Mike Leavitt, who had the foresight to realize that distance learning had the power to tackle the problem of adult education. Founded in the year 1867 as a land-grant university, the West Virginia University has a long and rich history. The university was founded in 1970 by Bernie and Rita Turner, two teachers, who were looking for ways where adults in the workforce could work towards their doctoral degrees. They were instrumental in laying the groundwork for the university, with help from a University of California, Berkeley faculty member, Harold Hodgkinson. It was only one year before that Hodgkinson published an article titled “Walden U.: A Working Paper,” which initiated the concept of a student-centered university.  The three came together with their shared vision of a higher education institution that allowed professionals to continue working while gaining their degrees.  The institution was named, “Walden University.”  Today, the school located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is owned by Sylvan Learning and offers degree programs at a higher level to adults from all over the world, giving thousands of adults a chance to complete their degrees.
