I have noticed a lot of community members sharing in-store deals and spots in the comments of various posts. Inspired by the weekly Seek & Find posts started by the lovely Alexis over at J.Crew Aficionada, I think now is a good time to start a similar weekly post here.

This post is for community members to trade information. You can ask for help in finding an item, report back on what you saw in-store at your local Anthro, ask general questions, make a request, or just stop by to say hello. I love how helpful this community can be! Please note that items for sale belong in the Trade Market, as do 'looking to find' requests for past season items. Comments that erroneously get posted in this thread will be deleted.

Some FAQs....
- What does "sub" mean?It means that people are subscribing to the comment thread. You can do this by either clicking the small RSS icon at the top right of the comments section or by selecting either subscribe to "all new comments" or "replies" in the comment box in the comment form.
- Someone in the comments said they wanted to buy an item from me, but it's been x hours and I haven't heard squat. What should I do?I give people 24 hours for the benefit of the doubt. After that move on to the next person that contacted you.
- Someone said they returned an item at the store 20 minutes ago but I just called the store and it's gone. What gives?!?
A store associate might have taken a fancy to it or a customer might have grabbed it. Maybe it's just at the bottom of a big ol'pile. Unfortunately, you're out of luck.

{Weekly} Popbacks Open Thread

By request of the community today we launch a new weekly post. Please use this post to list website popbacks that you see on your wishlist, via search engines, or in your shopping cart. Popbacks go very quickly but hopefully by having them in one place will be helpful. Please do not use this post for store sightings -- those should go into the weekly Weekend In-Store Community Post which runs on Fridays at 12:05 PM ET.

What is a popback? It's an item that is no longer accessible through Anthropologie's product sections, sale or search because it previously sold out. Now the item has "popped back" into stock in select sizes and colors but does not show up on the website like other products do. These items are either found through people's wishlists, their online shopping carts, clicking through affiliate links on my old sale posts, or search engines.

HOW DO I ORDER A POPBACK?
1 - Call Anthropologie's order line at (800)-309-2500. You'll need the style # to place your order.
2 - If you have the item saved to your own wishlist log in, go to your wishlist, add to cart and checkout!
3 - If the item is on someone else's public wishlist, below is a mini-guide on how to find the item.
4 - Google/Bing the product name + Anthropologie (i.e. "Veiled Alder Dress Anthropologie") and choose the result that takes you to the product page.

HOW TO FIND A PUBLIC WISHLIST
1 - Log into your Anthropologie.com account.
2 - Go to the Wishlist page on Anthropologie's website.
3 - The bottom right box is called "Find a Person" (boxed in red in the photo above). Click on the blue search button.
4 - Paste the email address of the person whose wishlist is public in the "email" field and click "search."
5 - The search results should give you a person's name. Click on that. Then choose the correct wishlist.
6 - Once you find the item you want, add it to your cart. Once it's in your cart you can save it to your own wishlist, save it for later, or delete it.

**IMPORTANT** - if an item is OUT OF STOCK you WILL NOT be able to add it to your cart from another wishlist.

Windflower Blouse ($158) by Leifnotes, TTS

Perhaps in an effort to answer the critics of Leifsdottir's price point, the line has spun off a slightly less expensive sister, Leifnotes. The first item I saw from this new line is the Windflower Blouse ($158), a 70s-inspired top with 90s inspired shoulders. Paging Donna Karan, etc. I'm not opposed to the idea of the shirt though I knew right away the shape wouldn't be great on me. Aside from the open shoulders there's also a scallop-adorned long keyhole in the front and an elasticized hem. Appliqued flowers finish off the piece. The top is slightly sheer but luckily it comes with a layering cami in the same green color.

I tried on a 6, my usual size in Leifsdottir tops, and found the fit to be the same in this new diffusion line. I was surprised to find my waist defined in spite of the top's flowiness. I am not a fan of the elastic hem which wraps around my widest part, or the length which I found to be a little short. The keyhole is also impractical for work though I view this as more of a weekend top anyway. The included layering cami helps. I am excited to see more from Leifnotes though I'm also a big fan of the regular Leifsdottir line. I hope neither suffers for the other. This top, however, is a pass.

Draped Snail Tank ($128) by Pilcro, size down

Pilcro breaks out an adorable print with the Draped Snail Tank ($128)...it kind of looks like raining escargots. This silk top has no zipper, it's pullover style. As Anthro is wont to do, this top has more appeal going than coming at first glance. In the front a scoop neckline is defined by a few well-placed pleats. In the back two ruffly wings fold over each other to create a tuliped view, like so:

So pretty! The effect can cause the shirt to split so you'll wan ta cami under this for sure. I chose to try on the navy version and initially started with my usual size 6. It was much too large and so I sized down to a 4, which is what you see on me in the shots above. The 4 was still big towards the bottom but fit my shoulders well. I did notice the top blouses out somewhat at the chest which could cause undesired effects on bigger chests. I was swayed by the cute print and adorable back. If you saw the Reader Outfits from a couple of weeks ago then you already know this top came home with me.

Spindleflower Tank ($88) by Sariah, TTS

Sometimes high hopes lead to bitter disappointment. Such is the case with Sariah's Spindleflower Tank ($88). It has a gorgeous print in either pink or blue motif. The tank design is offset by a banded waist. From the front it looks simple but in the back buttons provide closure, such that the tank could theoretically be worn frontwards or backwards. The silk material is light and catches air as you move.

My usual size 6 was comfortably loose around the torso...but let's be frank. This shirt is ridiculously short! The proportions are probably fine on someone petite but on anyone over 5'3" this top is bound to hit above the waist. On my 5'8" frame it just looks crazy. I am trying to reconcile what Anthropologie could possibly be thinking here -- why not make a petite and a full-length version? This is so short that belly would peek through with even high waisted trousers or a high-waisted skirt. The misplaced waist on the shirt ended up making me look very bulky. I'm just upset. Even in the model shot (note her standing off-kilter and I'll bet she's short-waisted!) the top looks short. Thanks for making a top 85% of your customers can't wear Anthropologie. Pass.

Flora Throwback Top ($68) by Deletta, TTS

Deletta borrows some Floreat-like inspiration in the Flora Throwback Top ($68), a structured cotton top with side kick pleats. The throwback color meets up at a keyhole in the back of the shirt while bias-cut pleats on the side help to define the waist above. The print is a medium-sized floral with some brown spots in it. The material isn't soft but isn't harsh either. It's a thicker cotton.

I found a medium to fit comfortably. From the side I noticed the top hangs straight, which can be unflattering, but overall I like the way this top looks. The waist is placed rather high -- more on the diaphragm than the waist. As a result I felt more busty than usual. I found that wearing a cardigan over the top subdued this, so I envision this as a layering piece. I also think it would pair well with a pencil skirt for work. A potential sale winner. Wishlisted for reconsideration come sale time.

Zenobia Tee (now $40) by Odonate Epiprocta, TTS

I kept walking by the Zenobia Tee (now $40) in-store, constantly telling myself that I'd try it on next time. Once the top hit sale I realized I needed to follow through or risk missing out altogether. The roadblock for me was the sheer sleeves -- I wasn't sure how they'd look on. The sleeves have a princess effect with a touch of pouf and a ruched seam down the middle. The rest of the top is your standard rayon-poly fare. This looks like a Deletta top though it's not.

The top is body-skimming. So a medium fit but was hugging every curve. I noticed the sleeves kept pushing inward slightly towards my neck which made the scoopneck curdle a touch. No matter how many times I adjusted the sleeves as soon I moved my arms the slippery fabric trailed inward again. Despite that I found this top delightful. It comes in two pretty colors and the longer length is so nice! During the fall it would be fine on its own and then for winter it is a great layering option. This top is sitting in my online cart right now.

Daphne Crown Tank ($78) by Monogram, size down

Monogram's Daphne Crown Tank ($78) begins with a layer or two of viscose upon which rings and trails of flowers are embroidered. This pattern is on the front only -- the back is just a solid dark orange or navy depending on which color you choose. But continuing with Anthropologie's Maternity March of 2011/12 instead of just being a straight, loose-fitting tank top the bottom is loose and flowy and somewhat stretchy.

To combat the looseness I sized down to a small. This helped in that the tank contoured to my shape more but it also created some odd fabric bunching at the sides. This odd trend towards very flowy at Anthro continues to flummox me. Overall the tank is nice but I am not in love with it. Back to the rack.

Oriel Tee ($68) by Deletta, size down

Even Deletta can't help getting into the sheer game. At least the Oriel Tee ($68) has just a strip of sheer instead of a whole shirt of it. Slightly winged shoulders also have a sheer-edged lace treatment which I found endearing. Horizontal pintucks run above the lace panel while a polygon of vertical pleats lie just below. It's a very cute top! The rayon material seems OK, a little slippery and not likely to pill.

When I saw this top online I dreamed of tucking it into a pencil skirt but after trying it on I see it also pairs well with jeans. I had to size down to a small (which is what you see on me above) -- I found the medium to feel too loose overall. The sheer panel will of course show bra straps though it doesn't creep so low as to expose cleavage. Although there is still that vague 70s feel to this top which I'm sick of, I have to admit that it fully reeled me in. Wishlisted!

Fluttered Hem Tee ($48) by Pure & Good, TTS

Confession: I like asymmetric hems. When executed well they elongate and slim; when executed poorly they look like fish tails or production mistakes. I was looking for the Bordeaux top that's next in this reviews set when a Soho staffer pulled this blue top for me instead. I decided to give the Fluttered Hem Tee ($48) a go anyway and I'm glad I did! This mostly-linen top feels like a light sweatshirt and has an easy, comfortable vibe. Things I don't normally like such as a wide v-neck and elbow-length sleeves work well here and yes even the flowy bottom is fine...grumble.

The top comes in a variety of colors but for me navy would be most versatile. As the yellow's model shot shows above, the asymmetric hem has a an extra triangle panel of fabric which creates the gentle waves on the bottom of the top. It's a nice effect. I found my usual size medium to fit comfortably; I think you could size down but I prefer the slightly loose fit. I fear the arms would be too tight in a small. My only concern with this top is the longevity; Pure & Good tends to make quality items so I think it's worth the risk. I don't want Anthropologie to go all asymmetric on me, but this top is wishlisted!

Dual Convergence Top ($78) by Bordeaux, TTS

This was the top I was originally looking for when I went to Soho. From the online product shot I thought Bordeaux's Dual Convergence Top ($78) would be a thicker, thermal-like material. To my surprise upon trying it on the top is actually a thin modal tee with a lot of spandex mixed in. I like this version fine though that warmer version in my head would have been nice. The top is very thin but not sheer. It has visible bias seems running across it and a few star-tailed triangles hanging off the bottom hem. The desired effect here is both lengthening and that effortless appearance of caring about how you look but not so much that you tuck in your shirttails. Or something.

In the store I felt great in a medium, though I'm rethinking that now that I see these photos. I wonder if a large would have been more appropriate. My main concern is the seam running right across the bust, pushing it down visually. The top certainly fits close to the body so I'd wear it over leggings or some bottom that won't add bulk around the midsection. The sleeves are very long on purpose so you can cuff them and the longest tail of the shirt hits mid-thigh. Though I might be lining up for a size exchange this top is otherwise fabulous. Didn't wait on this one -- it came home with me as part of the birthday haul! (I will reveal the rest of the haul next week.)

Asymmetric Throwback Tee ($38) by Bordeaux, size down

Note: there was no sale today and there will not be any markdowns this week according to community reports.

It's a mix of loungewear and items that seem like loungewear in this reviews set. First up, the incredibly soft Asymmetric Throwback Tee ($38) from Bordeaux. I am all about looking cute while lounging around the apartment and I thought the "grey motif" (reads blue) version of this top would look great with the Blue Rainer Shorts ($38). When I held the two items up next to each other in-store the colors seemed to match, though I make no promises that they do outside of wonky Anthro store lighting.

The top is slightly heathered and is not sheer. It's designed to hang off your shoulder via a wide scoop though I didn't feel inclined to pull it down in the dressing room. One side has a longer tail which cascades in a gently pleated way. As I mentioned in my last tops reviews set, here's another top that would work as maternity wear. Which makes me knock a star off my review because come on Anthropologie. What of us that are not expecting?

I started off in my usual size medium. The cut on this top is very generous, so I decided to size down to the small you see on me above. The short side of this top lands just a smidge below the waist, while the long tail trails right to the thigh. I wish it was a touch longer all-around. Many of the reviewers online have noted this top is slimming. I don't know about that but it is kind of fun to wear. I could see pairing this top with skinnies, boots and a cardigan and wearing it out. For me evaluating it strictly as hanging-around-the-apartment-wear I think it works well. And for whatever it's worth the top is boyfriend-approved. I didn't wait on this top -- it came home with me immediately in a small.

Extended Hours Top ($118) by Bailey 44, size up

style # 23699150, navy (041)

★★★☆☆

If the front of the Extended Hours Top ($118) seems a bit staid, try taking a peek at the back. Multiple straps converge in a star pattern that adds a little sexy to your evening. As Anthropologie suggests, a cardi or blazer over the top makes it work-appropriate with a surprise for later when you wear it on its own. The top itself is a bodycon poly-nylon-spandex mix. The pattern is band upon band of stripes with stars, dots and florals. A scoopneck and slight shoulder-covering sleeve round out the design.

I grabbed a medium in this top, foolishly thinking it would fit. Sometimes with Bailey 44 you want that close-body fit. Though I managed to squeeze myself into it this top it's clear I need a large. A medium was too tight at both the waist and over the bust. I want to give this top more than three stars, but one thing the online product description conveniently doesn't mention is that your bra straps and band will show through the straps. Not only that, the back is low enough so that even my corset-style bras may be tough to work with. You'd need some kind of magical bra with no back. If you require ample support like me this is going to be a challenge. So I can't give this top more than three stars, although I love the idea. I might try it anyway and see if one of the designer bra stores in the city has something I could use. For now, this top is wishlisted!

Peplum Askew Tank ($68) by Left of Center, TTS

I wish two things for this item review: I wish I'd seen the Peplum Askew Tank ($68) in the bright red color in-store, and I wish it weren't so sheer. I wonder if the bright red is this sheer? A new SA at the Soho store pulled this top for me (she was wonderful! but I didn't catch her name) and was trying to sell me on it, the idea being you could pair any color top under this one to change your overall look. I get it...I'm just not sure I buy it. I'm sick of all the sheer! I do not live a couture lifstyle where it's OK to show my bra (or naked breasts as is the movement du jour) on a daily basis and I think sheer removes much of the feminine mystique. It just looks like the store cheaped out on fabric.

The odd thing is Left of Center didn't cheap out here -- the top is a cotton and silk mix that feels nice and cool against the skin. And I love the peplum placement! If this top had been opaque white I'd recommend a sheer topper -- like this amazing sheer-armed blazer J from The Look 4 Less found in a recent post. (While I'm not usually a Forever 21 proponent, the sheer blazer is such a trendy look that I can't imagine spending $$$ on it.) Since the top itself is sheer I see fewer options.

I tried on a medium. I don't mind the slightly boxy fit and I like the gentle v neckline, but I do wish this top were about two inches longer. I fear the effect right now is of a top that I've outgrown. Since my last growth spurt was nearly 10 years ago now (eep!) it seems a little silly perpetuate the idea. So this white version is a pass, but I'm hoping the bright red fares better once I seek it out.

Reversible Seamless Tank ($24) by Eloise, most colors TTS

After my review of the Gauzy Mint Maxi ($138, review here) a couple of weeks ago, a few people asked if I would cover the top I was wearing with it. Here we go! Eloise's Reversible Seamless Tank ($24) can be worn either frontwards as a v-neck or backwards as a scoopneck. For whatever reason, the grey motif version of the tank I tried as well as the cream and black seem to be longer than the other colors. This makes the tank more versatile for a tall like me, though those who are shorter may find the tank's length excessive. The material is clearly poly but gives off a cotton feel from far away.

I found a medium to work perfectly. The tank nips in at the waist and has give over the hips. It's exactly what I need to create an ultra-flattering silhouette. I was very surprised by how much I liked this tank! I had not been impressed by the previous colors I'd tried on in-store. But this grey motif version seems like a real winner. Wishlisted!

Clipped Cities Blouse ($158) by Leifsdottir, TTS

style # 22948681, ivory (011) or green (030)

★★★☆☆

Here's another top where I could only find the white version in-store, wishing to try the more vibrant color version instead. Leifsdottir's Clipped Cities Blouse ($158) looks simple but has a few tailored details to elevate it above the ordinary. The sleeves have a mishmash of tiny, laser-cut out squares and rectangles which give a handmade feel to the top, while the back has a set of pleats that kind of look like wainscoting. The top is polyester ($158 for a polyester top? Really Anthro?) and slightly translucent.

I found that at rest my usual size 6 curved around my bottom, but once I started walking around it flowed out like a cape. And I love me a good cape! The v-neck is perfectly cut to showcase the neck and collarbones without exposing too much cleavage. There's just a hint. The length is fantastic for the urban classic look. I'm just not into this ultra-white version. I know the site says ivory but this top felt brighter. So I'd like to try on the green, and this version went back to the rack.

Ruffled Cape Tank ($58) by Deletta, size up

Armadillo on my shoulders? Not quite, it's just the Ruffled Cape Tank ($58) by Deletta. I thought this top might have a cute ruffled shawl effect when I saw it in the store. I do appreciate the design risk taken here.

Deletta is currently manufactured by two factories, making the fit for this brand very confusing! With one factory, I have to size down. The other decrees I size up. This top must have come from the latter factory; my usual size medium barely stretched over my belly. The top also managed to compress my shoulders -- quite the feat! I don't think there's much to say here besides that I'm not impressed. The shawl part of the top isn't attached in front, so you could let it hang in the back like a ruffled gunny sack or cut it off...leaving you with a $58 tank top. No thanks. Pass.

I have noticed a lot of community members sharing in-store deals and spots in the comments of various posts. Inspired by the weekly Seek & Find posts started by the lovely Alexis over at J.Crew Aficionada, I think now is a good time to start a similar weekly post here.

This post is for community members to trade information. You can ask for help in finding an item, report back on what you saw in-store at your local Anthro, ask general questions, make a request, or just stop by to say hello. I love how helpful this community can be! Please note that items for sale belong in the Trade Market, as do 'looking to find' requests for past season items. Comments that erroneously get posted in this thread will be deleted.

Some FAQs....
- What does "sub" mean?It means that people are subscribing to the comment thread. You can do this by either clicking the small RSS icon at the top right of the comments section or by selecting either subscribe to "all new comments" or "replies" in the comment box in the comment form.
- Someone in the comments said they wanted to buy an item from me, but it's been x hours and I haven't heard squat. What should I do?I give people 24 hours for the benefit of the doubt. After that move on to the next person that contacted you.
- Someone said they returned an item at the store 20 minutes ago but I just called the store and it's gone. What gives?!?
A store associate might have taken a fancy to it or a customer might have grabbed it. Maybe it's just at the bottom of a big ol'pile. Unfortunately, you're out of luck.

Marled & Mixed Pullover ($88) by Sparrow, TTS

Though it is so very 90s of me I adore cropped sweaters. As a teen I used to throw them over my yogawear when heading home from the gym. Now retailers are releasing some options that can be worn as more than just a cover-up and I'm delighted. Sparrow has already released the Sporadic Stitchery Pullover ($98, review here) and comes at us again with the Marled & Mixed Pullover ($88). On the product page, reviewers have struggled with how to style this sweater. I envision wearing it over a dress as a final layer of warmth, or with a long tank and jeans as a weekend piece. It is purposely boxy due to the cropped style and for once I appreciate that. If this was too close to the body I would look all chest.

The fabric is a cotton-poly mix that is medium-weight. There's no itch factor to me but the sweater is soft in some parts and a bit scratchy in others. I love the mix of patterns on the outside of the sweater, the slightly rolled neck and the way the fabric is marled in lighter and darker extremes. I chose to try on my usual size medium and found it a comfortable fit. I decided I liked this sweater enough to buy it right away and I've already worn it to my weather-schizophrenic office twice.

Frosted Pointelle Tank ($128) by O by Organic, TTS

I had hoped the Frosted Pointelle Tank ($128) was about to hit sale...until I saw this new peach color in-store. Foiled again by Anthropologie's second waves of product colors I decided instead to give this one a fitting room whirl. Made of recycled materials, this sweater shell has a preppy vibe and a diamond-work pattern that in lesser design hands could look like something from a bad 80s movie. Instead the pattern is subtle as is a hint of metallic sheen woven in. A racerback means a special bra will be necessary but it's not a dealbreaker. I appreciate the longer length as always.

Once again I reached for my usual size medium and once again it worked well. Given my hourglass shape this sweater doesn't seem quite as feminine as it does on the dress form which is a letdown. But I think that with a cardigan and a belt over top this could be a very pretty layering piece. I found the material to have a hint of give and the peach color to be bright but workable. I do wish the back had some kind of cinch to draw the waist in, but otherwise I've no complaints. Waiting for sale.

Cavendish Sweater ($148) by Rosie Neira, TTS

A country-bumpkin-feeling sweater gets a properly British name. The Cavendish Sweater ($148) from Rosie Neira is a sedimentary open cardigan with a slight flair in the back. Online the coloring looks like kind of blah but in real life I found it to be vibrant and beautiful, very eye-catching! It's pretty shapeless though. One nice trick is how the side cowls trail in at the hips which helps narrow the torso nicely. But there's a lot of extra material here.

I think the medium looked fine, though I also think a small would have worked too. The fabric isn't super soft but it's not rough either. The length is good, hitting low-hip. I think this would make an awesome office sweater to throw on over Thursday/Friday outfits. But an office sweater for $148 seems like a lot to spend so I'll wait on this one. Wishlisted for reconsideration at sale time.

Cropped Keyhole Cardigan ($228) by Tracy Reese, size up

style # 24099863, black (001)

★★★☆☆

There's cropped cardigans and then there's cropped cardigans. The Cropped Keyhole Cardigan ($228) might not even qualify as a true sweater -- it's more shrunken sweater than anything else. Though I'm sure this item will be polarizing I feel it has a rockstar vibe what with the holes and the shiny black buttons and the mix of black and grey yarn. The material is treated cotton though this should not go anywhere near a washing machine given it's fragility.

You'll want to size up in this cardigan. I tried on a large and it barely fit. So I'm pretty much sized out here. I found the arms to be tight and the buttons to pull, fitting accordingly with the style. But if you're smaller than me and can make this work I think it would be a cute topper for a concert, ghost hunt or angst-ridden camping trip. Or maybe I've just been watching the CW too much. Back to the rack.

Breezed Crochet Pullover ($68) by Yellow Bird, TTS

★★★☆☆

Another airy open-knit sweater. This is Yellow Bird's Breezed Crochet Pullover ($68) and I'm crying foul on the product shot -- in real life this doesn't taper in at the waist at all! Not cool Anthro, not cool. The sleeves are also considerably longer than they look online. If you can get past those deceptions the sweater itself is a cute cotton-linen mix with layering potential.

A medium fit me but was boxy. It was also shorter than I expected, hitting at my waist rather than being shruggy like on the model. The higher neckline gives the sweater a classic feel while the mix of opening sizes lends a casual vibe. This seems like a nice, beachy sweater to me. Not really fitting in with my style but with potential. Pass.

Karen Walker is bringing its hip wit whimsy to Anthropologie

You may not have heard of Karen Walker yet -- unless of course you're familiar with her popular lines in New Zealand and London -- but that's all about to change! Anthropologie has announced a spring collaboration with the designer's new diffusion line, Hi There From Karen Walker. Fashionologie had the scoop yesterday with 41 images from the upcoming collection.

Ms. Walker is known for designing feminine, flirty pieces with a bit of swing and attitude that are a perfect fit for Anthropologie. Last year I sprung for a few skirts from her Spring 2011 collection, hunting them down at local NYC boutiques like Cloak and Dagger or Otte. Looking through these collection photos I see plenty of the same to come from the Hi There collection and I'm delighted! I also hope that the sunglasses and shoes will be included!!! I have a pair of wayfarers from Karen Walker and they are my summer favorites.

The wide selection of dresses, tops and skirts includes many work-friendly options and plenty to wear on the weekend. Karen Walker's shapes are flattering to a variety of sizes and recall a midcentury chic vibe. Her line relies on silks and cottons which I hope carry through to the Hi There from Karen Walker collection.

This collection will drop in March at 164 Anthropologie stores (and hopefully Canada and online too!). This collaboration has me so excited! I'm thrilled to see some Karen Walker items at Anthropologie -- it's such a natural fit. I only hope that this will make Ms. Walker the household name she deserves to be here in the United States.

Irina Blouse ($158) by Lil, size up

Somewhere between the bordello and the Bayou lands Lil's Irina Blouse ($158), a temptress of silk with sheer lace panels x-ing across the front. The sleeves have a generous flutter that would make even the biggest flare jeans jealous. It's not lined and there's no layering cami included for reasons I can't explain. The front and back both start with pin-tucks up top before spilling into pleats below the sheer fans. Incredibly thin though somewhat sexy, this top has night out written all over it.

This top runs surprisingly top in the bust and like most Lil tops is kind of short, so instead of my usual 6 I found an 8 worked better. I have to wonder if many of Anthropologie's design team is pregnant or something, because so many of their tops feature loose midsections that feel like maternity wear to me. Am I alone in this? When I put this top on I felt like the bust portion is fine, and the sleeves are big but OK, but from the side it looks like I'm hiding either a food baby or the real thing. Do non-pregnant women want to dress this way? I'm honestly asking because maybe I'm just behind on some unknown belly-enlarging trend. Granted there are days when I want my midsection camouflaged but it's just unreal in Anthro's stores right now. Loose, drapey top after trapeze top after flowy tummy-expanding top. I don't really get it.

Seems like this shirt would work for parties or dates, though I didn't find it flattering enough on me to bring home. Back to the rack.

Zoey Pullover ($48) by Paper Crane, TTS

Much as I've had my fill of lace tees I can't escape my desire to constantly try them on. The Zoey Pullover ($48) has an appealing price point and the pattern reminds me of the Dotty Cluster Tights from last year. I can do without asymmetric hems though here the effect is elongating. Slight ruching on the sides encourages you to wear this bunched at the hips -- on me this looked kind of silly so I pulled it down instead. See the product shot for the slouchier look.

My usual size medium fit like a dream. I see myself wearing this top with a long flannel skirt, and a tank underneath. It doesn't look bad over jeans either, though I think it emphasizes my wider midsection. The lace is a nylon/cotton/spandex mix without much stretch to it. A deep scoop neckline shows off the collarbones nicely and lends a lounge-y, atheletic vibe to the top. There was no itch or scratch factor to me. I dithered on whether to buy this immediately or not, ultimately deciding it should be part of the birthday haul. Sitting in my online cart as we speak!

Constant Salutation Top ($78) by Weston Wear, TTS

Looking for a top that hugs every curve without showing all your lumps and bumps? Give Weston Wear's Constant Salutation Top ($78) a try. I spotted this top during a recent jaunt to Connecticut, with a dress form in the Westport store sporting it wonderfully. An SA told me the top was flying off the shelves and I could see why -- between an eye-catching pattern, a faux-wrap bustline and an adorable tulip bottom I wanted to purchase it immediately!

Unfortunately the only sizes left to try were an x-small and a small. So I tried on the small for the shots above. Yes it's clearly too tight on me but I'm confident my usual medium would work fine. I felt very va-va-voom in the top without feeling overexposed. I was impressed by how the pattern really tricks the eye into narrowing the torso and draws up towards the neckline. The rayon-spandex material is a bit disappointing to me. I would have liked cotton instead. But the stretch does do wonders! Another winner and another top for the upcoming birthday haul. In my cart.

Openwork Tee ($78) by Plenty by Tracy Reese, TTS

Sometimes Anthropologie changes a top's design slightly between product shot and actual production. I wonder if that's what happened with the Openwork Tee ($78), a promising top online that didn't translate in real life. I wanted the top's latticework shoulders to hang off slightly like they do on the dress form. Alas, they sucked in on me instead. I want the shirt to spill down just below my waist, slightly longer at the sides as the product shot does online. Instead, this top is slightly longer in the back and too short in the front. Bummer.

I ended up trying this shirt in a small, a medium and a large trying to find the right fit. None of them fit perfectly but the medium you see on me above was the closest to fine. The pattern of the shirt is just gorgeous! But I'm less impressed by the cheap-feeling poly content. It feels slippery and I worry the pattern will bleed right off the first time I try to wash the top. Note that this top is handwash only. I know some washers have a "handwash" setting but the ones in my building only know harsh spin and harsher spin. So it will be the sink or nothing!

Unimpressed by the print version of the top, I decided to give its solid cousin a whirl...

Sailor Knotted Top ($68) by Plenty by Tracy Reese, TTS

...and I liked it slightly better. Strange how two tops produced from the same pattern can fit differently. I found the Sailor Knotted Top ($68) to be bigger and longer than its printed cousin. Why? I have no clue. But note how this top does actually drop off my shoulders and how it hits below the top of my jeans. I vastly prefer this to the Openwork Tee ($78) above. I am fine with waiting for sale though, so this solid version is waiting on my wishlist.

Striped Intersection Top ($98) by Bailey 44, TTS

style # 23785355, red motif (069) or grey motif (008)

★★★★☆

I think Anthropologie found a closeout on this pattern from Bailey 44 and decided to buy every possible permeation of it. Dresses and tops and skirts oh my! So far only the Scully Pencil Skirt ($118, reviewed here) has really captivated me. Anthropologie keeps trying though, releasing the Striped Intersection Top ($98) into an already heavily-striped world. The twist on this one is that the stripes are not tiered, instead they're braided like Challah or an apple pastry. Aside from sweet treats the pattern also reminds me of the circus.

Can't argue with the fit, which I found super-flattering. The top hugs your body but sucks everything in nicely thanks to a generous amount of spandex. The v-neck balances the heavy pattern below nicely and the length is perfect for making you long and lean. My usual size medium fit nicely, though I found the arm holes to be cut just a touch too long and this caused bunching over the bust. I didn't see the grey version in my store -- maybe it's quieter than this bold red. If you haven't succumbed to the stripes yet this might be the piece that captures you. For me though it's a pass.

It's been awhile since Anthropologie's dresses have really tempted me. The latest releases include some appealing frocks but two key categories are still missing for me: date night and work. I see party frocks and some more whimsical frocks (yay!) and a lot of questionable maxi or mini-frocks but not a lot that fall into that classic with a twist area. Hopefully Anthro has some sexier options and some professional options just waiting in the wings for a release.

A recent day off led me to all 4 NYC Anthros and I tried on nearly 40 items. The product reviews will be spread over the next several days. On a related note, if I have to hear that friggin She and Him song one more time I swear I might go on a murderous rampage! No offense to Zooey Deschanel but Anthropologie please for love of everything holy kill that song from the overly twee rotation. It makes me want to leave the store.

Ruched Glyph Dress ($138) by Bordeaux, TTS

While brands like Bailey 44 continue to use ever-cheaper materials in their products, it's nice that you can still count on brands like Bordeaux. The Ruched Glyph Dress ($138) is jersey made from modal and spandex, and while the latter's still a bit painful to accept at least you know this dress won't stretch from here to the moon after a day's wear. This dress is basically the Starred Entry Tee given the full-length treatment. I was immediately tempted and that fascination only grew as I read the rave reviews on the product page. This dress which hadn't been on my radar before but suddenly landed smack in the bulls-eye. Luckily Rockefeller Center (NYC) still had this dress stocked. The quality on this dress is good -- soft jersey material, good stitchwork and reinforced hems and seams. Nicely done, Anthro and Bordeaux.

Initially I grabbed a size small -- it was all that was left on the rack. That's what you see on me above. The top portion is voluminous but in an eye-pleasing way. The solid grey color camouflages lumps and bumps nicely. It does manage to define the waist a bit before suffocating itself to your legs. While the loose and draped top portion fit fine it was no surprise that the small was too tight over my legs. Though I tried on a medium (not shown) to compare, it was clear that though this dress is lovely the shape is not going to work on me. The medium was nearly too big on top and not much help on the bottom. One option would be to release the skirt from body-hugging into a straighter or looser shape. On sale I wouldn't mind taking a size medium to a tailor but at full-price it's a no-go for me. Lovely dress, not right on my body. Wishlisted for sale! (And tailoring!)

Grass Court Dress ($168) by Moulinette Soeurs, TTS

Moulinette Soeurs nearly serves up an ace with its Grass Court Dress ($168). This green-based frock has tiny crossed tennis rackets all over with a gently pleated skirt. The 41" long dress fell below my knees, landing on the upper half of my calf. (I'm 5'8".) It looks like your standard tank dress on the website but in real life the racerback causes the front straps to tail in slightly. The result for the busty among us like me can be an amplified chest and shoulder appearance. Not exactly the look I aspire to.

I find the full-skirt M.S. dresses to run true to size. This was no exception -- I took my usual 6. I love the soft cotton material and the woven rope belt. The envelope pleat in the front is a bit odd, sitting unevenly on my possibly uneven frame? I'm not really sure what was going on. It's also a bit heavy overall...I wonder if it would breathe on those hot summer days. Hard to imagine those from here in January. It's a lovely dress that seems suited to a pleasant park picnic. I'm undecided whether this fits in my closet or not but I'm encouraged by its very existence at Anthropologie! Wishlisted.

Striped Stripes Dress ($198) by Plenty by Tracy Reese, TTS

This dress has an oddly appropriate name -- there are indeed stripes inside stripes on the Striped Stripes Dress ($198). There are also tuxedo pleats along the bodice, big round shiny black buttons down the front and a ringed belt-sash. It's a lot of look! It all works, yet it also reminds me of a tropical cafe awning. I was thrilled to see this otherwise strapless dress on display with the straps attached; much easier than me fumbling around with the dress in the fitting room. I know the Rockefeller Center Anthropologie does this a lot and it's a move I really appreciate. The dress does have light boning in the bodice that will not be of any help to most of us. It lacks support. The silk material is nice, though a bit sheer on the lighter-colored stripes. It's not lined either.

Encouraged by the anti-straplessness, I grabbed a size 6 and headed to the fitting room. The dress fit easily though the zipper was a real pain. It zipped up about halfway and then kept getting stuck. Annoying! I ended up turning it around backwards on my body, zipping it closed and then contorting it back to the right direction. Once all that was done the belt was pulled and tied and I was in! The festive colors are pretty to look at (though I noticed the pattern is different in the online shot than it was in real life). Would have loved to have this dress a few years ago when I went to Mexico. Not so sure it would work for everyday in NYC though. This dress is lovely but most likely a pass for me.

Tropica Jacquard Mini-Dress ($198) by Moulinette Soeurs, size up

Festive florals dance around the Tropica Jacquard Mini-Dress ($198), a holiday-esque shift that's probably on the way to a markdown. I'm not sure why Anthropologie calls this a mini dress -- it's easily to the knees. I'm happy the name is wrong and the length is right. I like the color combination of the print but I feel like the details are a bit overdone. Specifically the bow at the top, which I feel pushes the dress a bit too far. The tailoring is impeccable, with darts and folded seams designed to hug every curve in a flattering way. The skirt falls straight from the hips.

This being a shift I needed to size up. The 8 squished and skoshed over my hips but in truth a 10 would be much more comfortable. So that's two sizes up for me, one size up for those less hippy. The 8 was also smushing my bust something awful...another reason to size up. Pockets on the sides poufed out a bit. Else the dress seems like a winner. Well-made, beautiful pattern, good length. No occasion to wear it for though, so pass.

Crepe Myrtle Shirtdress ($248) by Sarah Ball, TTS

This tempting dress is the Crepe Myrtle Shirtdress ($248) and it's made from sticker shock I think. Made from a specially-designed print that combines two photographs into a sort of midcentury-evoking plaid, this shirtdress aims to please. It has a definite 50s feel with the polo collar and shirtdress placket. It's also very long, spilling easily below the knees. I'm pleased to report that this dress has a removable white chemise lining and that the waist of this dress actually hits at the waist. Without a belt though I noticed it made me look wider than I am.

My usual size 6 fit fine, but once again I was up against a dress that tailed in at the shoulders. The result was that my bust looked bigger and threw the overall proportions of the look off. The skirt was also very static-y and kept sticking to me in the dressing room. It made for some hilarious attempts for me to lay the skirt for these shots! The lightweight cotton will be a southern or western dream I'm sure. The buttons adorning the front are very pretty. I think the design of this dress is lovely and it has a sort of ageless appeal but the shape is not right for me. Back to the rack.

Sweet Enticement Dress ($118) by Moulinette Soeurs, TTS

Anthropologie dips into the archives with the Sweet Enticement Dress ($118), a pattern that is sometimes by Maeve and sometimes by Moulinette Soeurs but always about the same. I don't mean that as a knock -- this flattering frock is great to see each year. Such a classic design and easy-to-wear cut. This time around it's a tank dress with a tuxedo-pleated front and defined waist rendered in slick black cotton. There's something about this treated material that bothers me a bit; I don't like how it feels. But the overall look is a winner.

A 6 fit fine thanks to the flowing skirt portion of the dress. It zips up the side and has a keyhole at the back neckline. The back which, by the way, is a thick-laced panel with a half-lining like so:

Very pretty...but maybe a work-killer for this dress. My bra band didn't show but the straps clearly do. I think I could get away with it at my office but I'm not sure I want to. It's a little different spin on this dress which I can't complain about but it does make you think twice. As a winter date dress this one's got potential even if I do own two or three of its cousins. Wishlisted for reconsideration at sale time.

Hand-Crocheted Mini-Dress ($288) by Knitted & Knotted, size down

Had your fill of crochet yet? If not Anthropologie's got several more options for you including the Hand-Crocheted Mini-Dress ($288). Once again a dress is called a mini even though it grazes the knees. Confused? I sure am! It's not lined which is pretty ridiculous at this price point. Luckily I was wearing a long tank top the day I tried the dress on. (Anthro suggests throwing it on over a colorful slip and then shows it over white in the model shot -- whatever.) The pattern of the dress is quite lovely and the short-sleeve length falls somewhere between twee and tween.

I grabbed my usual size medium, only to find myself absolutely swimming. The shoulders fell off their perch and the dress made me look like a 9-year-old in mom's clothing. So I'd size down at least once to a small and maybe even twice. This means the petite among us are likely sized out. While I've enjoyed the crochet tanks and even some of the tops this dress isn't really my style. Back to the rack it went.

Brushed Terra Dress ($148) by Deletta, TTS

A thicker winter lace makes the Brushed Terra Dress ($148) warmer but it also kind of reminds me of grandma's upholstery. The brownish color isn't helping much. Online I thought this was a pretty light lilac and I was very disappointed to see the only color option in real life was a brackish mud. A concealed side zip and tee-shirt style are very nice. Also love the knee length of the dress. Still dislike the color though.

I found a medium to fit nicely. The dress has zero itch to it and it's easily beltable. It will pair well with cardigans too. In this otherwise grey weather though a nice shot of color really would have pumped this dress up. I can't say I'm too tempted to add another brown dress to my closet. Pass for me, though it's a lovely dress.

I have noticed a lot of community members sharing in-store deals and spots in the comments of various posts. Inspired by the weekly Seek & Find posts started by the lovely Alexis over at J.Crew Aficionada, I think now is a good time to start a similar weekly post here.

This post is for community members to trade information. You can ask for help in finding an item, report back on what you saw in-store at your local Anthro, ask general questions, make a request, or just stop by to say hello. I love how helpful this community can be! Please note that items for sale belong in the Trade Market, as do 'looking to find' requests for past season items. Comments that erroneously get posted in this thread will be deleted.

Some FAQs....
- What does "sub" mean?It means that people are subscribing to the comment thread. You can do this by either clicking the small RSS icon at the top right of the comments section or by selecting either subscribe to "all new comments" or "replies" in the comment box in the comment form.
- Someone in the comments said they wanted to buy an item from me, but it's been x hours and I haven't heard squat. What should I do?I give people 24 hours for the benefit of the doubt. After that move on to the next person that contacted you.
- Someone said they returned an item at the store 20 minutes ago but I just called the store and it's gone. What gives?!?
A store associate might have taken a fancy to it or a customer might have grabbed it. Maybe it's just at the bottom of a big ol'pile. Unfortunately, you're out of luck.
