Setting up a network alias is basically using multiple ip´s on one NIC interface or Lan Card.
This is useful if you are hosting multiple websites that uses certificate residing on only one server.
Note the ip? should be on the same subnet for it to work.

lets sat eth0 is configured with IP number 10.10.10.2

to configure eth0:0 alias

sudo as root # /sbin/ifconfig eth0:0 10.10.10.3 up

to verify that it is running # /sbin/ifconfig -a

or ping 10.10.10.3 this is not permanent so if you reboot your changes will be gone.

to make it permanent you need to go to # cd /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/

you need to copy ifcfg-eth0 and create ifcfg-eth0:0

to do that # cp /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0:0

then # nano /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/eth0:0 change the assigned IP and set ONBOOT=YES

so if your eth0 is:

# Intel Corporation 82566DM-2 Gigabit Network Connection
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=none
HWADDR=00:1c:c0:ad:86:e5
ONBOOT=yes
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
IPADDR=10.10.10.2
GATEWAY=10.10.10.1

then eth0:0 will be:

# Intel Corporation 82566DM-2 Gigabit Network Connection
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=none

ONBOOT=yes

IPADDR=10.10.10.3

Just a note on CakePHP configuration, when moving files between production(server) to local(development) environment and the debug level is set to 0, production mode at the server. CakePHP will display a blank page in your development site, the solution is set the debug level to 2 and it will function correctly after setting it to 2 you can switch from any debug level you want in your development site without any problem.

If you have forgotten your LinkSys router password, the easiest thing to do is to reset your router to the factory default settings.

To restore the router configuration to factory defaults, hold the reset button on the unit for 30 seconds.

Once your router is hard reset, you will need to login and reconfigure it again.

To reconfigure your LinkSys, connect a PC to one of it's Ethernet ports, load a web browser, and go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password to login to your router.
LinkSys Default Password

On older LinkSys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin."

Once you are past the login screen, you are able to reconfigure the LinkSys router.

This is a quick script for configuring your Microsoft Outlook/Express Client.
Just replace every instance of youremail.@domain.com with your actual email address, and mail.domain.com with your actual SMTP and PO3 server. Just download the actual script and edit accordingly save as .reg and import or double click to import to registry.

:thumbup:I re-enabled the Private Messaging functions the previous bug when a sender sends a message without a subject the message will be sent but the receiver has no way of reading it. Now sending a private message without is not allowed. Also e-mail notifications has been disabled to prevent users from sending spam messages. All your Private Messages will only be accessible when you are logged in.
