I have many Ibex garments and really like almost all of them. The Aire Hoody I purchase was the biggest Ibex disappointment so far. The insulation is extremely thin. The shell isn't weatherproof or even DWR. The hood lacks draw strings to snug up the front from wind. The hoody doesn't pack down small for backpacking like synthetic or down jackets. The price is somewhere in outer space. I promptly returned it and will continue using my tried and true synthetic puff hoody, at least until the new water resistant down hits the main stream.

So true. I've been wearing mine for years now and most recently up at Breckenridge, CO where the temps are usually below 0F in the mornings on the slopes. Toasty feet and good for the environment. More on how I use and what I think of Teko:

I liked this bag a little better when we came out with the same design 2 years ago. I understand that sometimes things get missed when innovation sprouts from a small company. Check out the POE website and look for the Metcouver (old name) or the NEW and Improved Velocio. A commuter's dream, PVC free as always, more reflective, easy to use, and a sleeker design. I like Gregory bags, but they should stick to large packs and stop copying the small guys commuter gems.

Hi Dave,
The best prevention is to wash you pack (or other gear which has zippers) so that you remove fine dust or dirt which wears out the zipper sliders over time.
