I changed WMA files to Mp3’s to reduce size – saved PPP as PP show - sent them together in a zipped folder as per instruction but got message to say sending filed due to “truncated” issue.

I tried sending the PPshow and Music files individually- zipped - with instruction to the recipient to save all music to same file as presentation so PP can pick up the link - but did not work.

Reading further I tried to find out whether the sounds were linked or embedded – understanding that PP only embeds WAV format I presume they are linked… when accessing the dialogue launch box I don’t get an option to view information. I am using PP 2007 - I read that this automatically embeds sounds when I insert... but if it is MP3 then it will link? When accessing the dialogue launch box I don’t get an option to view this information.

The presentation plays with sound on my computer - I copied MP3 files into same folder as presentation but I cant find a solution for emailing. Should I reformat music to WAV files and try to re-insert - will they then embed and automatically play with the presentation? How do I overcome size issue in order to email? I will also need to put the presentation on a USB key to view on different computers as I do not have a laptop... I need a presentation to play as a Powerpoint Show with sound- no need to change any source files - no updating or adding - a straight visual show.

I appreciate an assistance at this time - I can't wok it out..

Ungrouping Enhanced Metafile Excel Chart Pasted into PowerPoint

Microsoft has made it increasingly difficult with each new release of Office to ungroup an Excel chart that was pasted into PowerPoint using the Enhanced Metafile paste option. It almost gets you there but not as completely as it needs to. It keeps, for example, bars segments in a bar chart as one object and won't let you ungroup them. I and countless others need to do this to custom animate. Any ideas on how this can be accomplished... other than drawing my own elements? Thank you. read more

Printing problem

I am desperately looking for help to the problem I am encountering each time I take a created slide and cut and paste it into a word document. The problem is that on the slide I have 2 one-way arrows that form what looks like a graph outline (i.e., one arrow pointing straight up and the other arrow is attached at the base and points 90 degrees off to the right). I put a text box under the bottom horizontal arrow and one alongside the arrow pointing straight up. When forming that text box I took a horizontal word in a text box and used the "text direction" button and chose "rotate all text 270 degrees" so that the word is read from left to right from the bottom of the line, straight up.

I then group all the text on the slide but when I cut and past it into the word document, everything prints fine EXCEPT for the vertical text box which for some reason flips the word and scrunches the text!?!?!?!?!?!?!

If anyone knows why it's doing this, and how to resolve it, please respond ASAP. This presentation needs to be printed today!

Finding out on which monitor a PowerPoint slideshow is displayed

In Powerpoint 2007/2010 run on a multiple monitor system, we can select the monitor on which the slideshow will be shown by going to "Slide Show"-> "Set up slideShow" -> "Display SlideShow on" and selecting the desired monitor.

Is it possible to programmatically determine these settings (e.g. using VBA)?

What I actually need is the pixel-resolution of the monitor on which the slideshow is shown.

How can I do that?

I'm looking for information on writing programs that interact with the Mac version of Office. On Windows, you can interop with Office via the COM automation APIs. Does any equivalent API exist on Mac? All of Microsoft's Office developer documentation seems Windows-specific. And yet it must be possible on Mac too -- there are PowerPoint remote controls that work on Mac, right...?

I realize this is a .NET forum, and here's the tie-in: I already have a Windows app written in C# that interops with PowerPoint via COM, which is easily done in .NET. I would like to create a Mac version of this program, and ideally I'd like to reuse some or all of my existing code. So, a secondary question is... whatever automation/interop API exists on Mac, would it be accessible from C# using something like Mono? Or can it only be accessed via Mac-native code? (Objective C? ugh...)

Je voudrais faire imprimer un document à 200%. C'est pour une affiche à faire, mais je ne peux pas grossir la "diapo" à plus de 142cm de long, et j'ai besoin de 242cm. Pour y remédier, je voudrais imprimer à 200% au lieu de 100%. Est-ce que c'est possible?

Je sais que mon plan initiale serait de faire convertir le ppt en image, et j'imprimerai l'image par Paint (ça fonctionne, je l'ai déjà fait), mais j'ai vraiment besoin que ça imprime à un zoom de 200%.

I have a presentation with several action bottons that have an hyperlink to other slides in the same document.

since I need also to print out the presentation I would like to create a macro which add to the action botton (or somewhere in the slide) a text with the slide number for each hyperlink.

Since we have changed (and we will change) the sequence of the slides many times I would like to set a macro which changes the number showed in order to print it out

is it possible?

Image edge problems in PowerPoint 2007

I'm struggling a lot when working with PPT presentations I get from my head office in the UK, It seems like everytime i amend a presentation with many images and do a save (or save as), it corrupts many (not all) of the images and adds lines on top and on the left side. I'm running Windows 7 and PowerPoint 2007 myself, and it's very strange. It happens randomly (it seems) and the pictures get an added line on top and on the left. I have to extract the images and crop them manually to get rid of this. The presentations can both be PPT or PPTX (it doesn't make any difference....

Can anyone help me out? I have seareched around on the web, but not found a solution yet. I have seen to treads about this previously, but no solution. The treads that "touch" upon this are :

Happy Valentine's Day,

We are preparing to distribute a 39 slide Powerpoint Presentation on a macbook, but when opening the file, one comes to the "modifiable" format which features signs such as "click to add title". We are completely finished and wish for this to be complete and therefore unable to be modified or edited, and without any such signs as "click to add title". How do I convert this file so that the viewer only sees the finished PPT without any signs for further data entry?

Someone posted some code to automatically resize a picture within PowerPoint. The code that was posted was as follows:

However, this does not seem to work when actually presenting a slide.  Is there any way to modify this macro so that within a presentation, I can mouse over or click on a graphic, and then have it re-size on the screen?

Lock Objects feature

I can't seem to find a menu command that would lock an object or text box, so that I could work on other objects without accidentally selecting or moving the locked object.

I'm assuming such a basic feature (that is in virtually every other program I know of) is there, but that I simply cannot find it.

Please show me how to access this feature in PowerPoint. Thanks!

Hallo wer kann helfen: Es ist mir nicht mehr möglich das Kontrollkästchen "An Folie ausrichten" zu deaktivieren ... dh nun beim Anordnen zB linksbündig wird alles and linken Rand der Folie verschoben ... was ich ja nicht will, sondern es soll zB bei Linien oder Kästchen dann zB am Objekt orientiert werden das am weitesten links liegt ...

Slide and Title Masters

I am creating a template w/ logo for my business. I want my logo to appear (un-editable) in the body of the text, but I don't want it to appear at all on the title slide. With the POTX file, I'm forced (it seems) to either have it on EVERY page (including the title page), or make it an editable logo on selected pages of my choosing. problem with notes master

I wanted to amend the look of my notes page in PP 2007 so went to Notes Master and did some formatting changes. Also, I have resized the thumbnail slide and moved it to the left side. When I exit the Notes Master I can see that some of my changes (resizing and repositioning of the thumbnail slide) have not been applied to the notes page.
Please can you advise any solution? I have tried so may times but cannot get the changes applied in Notes master to be reflected on Notes Page view.

We have a need to create certain macros in powerpoint 2007/2010 and associate keyboard shortcuts to them. However, I wasn't able to find a way to do so. I saw one commercially avaliable addin (OfficeOne) which apparently allows to do so, but we need a free solution.

PowerPoint for MAC (Hyperlink problem)

Hi.
I am using PowerPoint for MAC. I am trying to insert hyperlinks to files on my machine that work.
I've inserted the hyperlink from a word on the slide to a file (XLS or pdf) on my hard drive, but when I go to slide show mode and view the slide show, as I click on the link nothing opens up.
When I try to edit the hyperlink in design mode, I get a "PowerPoint couldn't create a hyperlink to ." error.
Anyone have an idea of how I can do this?

I have PPT2007 on 32 bit Windows 7 Pro. It runs fine opening files, typing text, saving etc. But as soon as I do anything that requires the ribbon to change (e.g. highlight a textbox or switch from editing an image to the slide itself) then it takes a while. A long while. I see plenty of threads on slow PPT but most fixes seem to be for general slow operation and have to do with graphics acceleration, PPT format conversion or printer settings. Add-in loading but not working

I have created one ppt add-in in my application. When this alone exists in COM add-ins list, the application works fine. But when I installed SMART Notebook 10.6 SP1 software which would add one more add-in to COM add-ins list, then my ppt add-in is not working. That is, I am able to see the add-in in the list but the expected functionality is not working in the slide show.

However by disabling the SMART's Aware MS Office Addin and restarting the application clears this issue and the functionality behaved properly. Initially I thought that the only add-in would work out of several add-ins. To check this, I have incorporated one more add-in by installing pptPlex from Microsoft Office Labs. To my surprise, when I enabled this add-in along with my add-in, then my add-in was working as expected.

My add-in should work by including the SMART's Aware MS Office Addin. Please help me in this regard.

I've written a macro to set the height of a shape equal to its width (or vice versa, depending on which is greater) using the ScaleHeight or ScaleWidth property. The macro seems to work fine for an individual selected shape, but it often doesn't work properly or at all for a ShapeRange collection of several selected shapes. How can I get this macro to do what it's supposed to consistently?

Want to amend the footers in new version but can't access footers through the Master View or click on the footers in slide view to amend or delete the old footer. I'm creating a presentation template in PowerPoint 2007 and am using VBA to create a macro that will update text boxes on multiple master slides with the information provided in a userform.

Basically I have two master slides, one I've called TitleMaster (as this function is no longer available in 2007) and the second is called SlideMaster. When I run the macro, everything works fine for the first slide master, but when it gets to the code for the second master, it displays a run-time error saying that the item is not found.

Here is my code:

Saving powerpoint as movie makes it pixelated

I want to save my slideshow as a movie to play on a projector, but when I save it as a powerpoint movie it loses a lot of resolution and is so blurry that most of the text is not readable. How do I save it so that it retains quality when I play it?

Won't print 1 page of text boxes and chart

I have a slide with a chart and 5 text boxes surrounding it. It looks perfect on the page and looks perfect when printed to PDF. I have tried printing it to both a network b/w printer and a network color printer. I can get it to print the chart and 3 text boxes only. If I delete the chart, it will print all the text boxes but, I cannot get it to print them all. I have grouped, ungrouped,redone all the text boxes, made sure all the formatting for the boxes are the same, changed the text boxes fill settings, redone the entire chart, etc. I cannot think of aything else to do and need some help to get this to print correctly.
