In this directory, there's files named Service.xsd, Service1.xsd, Service2.xsd, Service3.xsd and Service4.xsd. The files are not duplicates - the different files defines different types and elements. When I first created the service refernece, there was just one file but more Service*-files have been added when I've added more DataContract and OperationContracts.

It looks a bit strange that 5 different files are generated and not just one. If I delete the service reference (and hence the directory) and then add it again, the same files are added again.

Can anyone explain why several files are created and not just one?

pls provide ur valuable coding or tell some site name for having this example ...please guide me friends

Solved!

The problem was was with machine routing not the Redirect. Using the machine name directly not localhost solved the problem.  It seemed my development machine using IIS7 was setup correctly! Thanks

I'm building a WCF web service inside a Web Application using Visual Studio 2010. The code of the service is structured as a try-catch-finally block, where the catch block ends with

The problem is, if I test the service using WcfTestClient.exe causing the exception I do not see my custom xml inside the detail node of <s:Fault>, but this:

I should note, the class that implements the service contract has the

[ServiceBehavior(IncludeExceptionDetailInFaults = true)] and

[AspNetCompatibilityRequirements(RequirementsMode = AspNetCompatibilityRequirementsMode.Allowed)]

attributes and the serviceHostingEnvironment node in the web.config has the attribute aspNetCompatibilityEnabled="true". I guess the first one is responsible for the stack trace and the other two allow me to host the service inside ASP.NET, but could another missing option be the culprit?

I'm building a WCF web service inside a Web Application with C#, and since I need to include schema validation for some Xml parameters I want to set a custom wsdl for the service where I use <xs:include schemaLocation="<schemafilename>.xsd"/> inside the <wsdl:types> node.

I've learned that the place to do this is

<serviceMetadata externalMetadataLocation="<wsdlfilename>.wsdl"/>

but I can't get it to work. What baffles me is that it doesn't work even if I let the service generate its own wsdl (that is, not setting the attribute), access the generated metadata through <serviceurl>/<servicename>.svc?wsdl, save it to a file and then set this file as the externalMetadataLocation (using ..\<wsdlfilename>.wsdl). WcfTestClient gives me this:

Warning: No code was generated.If you were trying to generate a client, this could be
because the metadata documents did not contain any valid contracts or servicesor
because all contracts/services were discovered to exist in /reference assemblies.

Sometimes it gives me more complicated errors, like

i have a client which will use a Webservice. I found a post in the forum but no solution. I have to add a header to an existing weservice function.

Can someone tell me if this is even possible with a transactional message queue?

I am new to WF4 and WCF and I have seached for days looking for how I coud do this from my self-hosted workflow service. The only sample I found was using non-transactional queue, which I managed to get working. As soon as I changed the MSMQ to a transactional queue and make what I believe are the necessary changes for the binding/endpoints to handle a transactional queue, I only ever got the first message from my queue.

I posted a question regarding this yesterday, with code. Since then I moved the same code to a console app to test and found that my workflow is aborting, which is why I am only ever receiving a singe message.

Am I using workflows correctly? What is my workflow aborting on? I've tried stepping through, and added the Fault handler to maybe get some exeption information, but it is null. I added ETW tracking but is does not tell me anything useful either.
