No MS Live Mail Calendar Reminders (popups or sound) despite the Reminder time being set..

MS Live Mail installed on W7-32 platform.

Create a new event in the calendar, and set the reminder time 5-15 minutes (say).

The Reminder popup never displays, and there is no sound at the Reminder time.

There appear to be no settings for this within the application.

I reset my password with my old password
I cant still not access my account and have repeatedly tried to get a code sent to my phone.
The address on file for recovery is no longer valid so I cannot even enter a new recovery emails as I cannot log in.

Windows Live Messenger On Phone

Hi, I have an LG Touch and a while ago my contact list changed from having normal msn messenger contacts on there to contacts from other servers(like gmail and yahoo). Recently, my contact list on my phone shows 30 offline contacts from random email contacts and only a few of them are actually msn contacts. Today I got on to my messenger on my phone and it removed some of my msn contacts and added emails that I never added. Does that kind of make sense? I keep deleting people on my phone messenger but every time I log back on, there's always 30 contacts, most of which I never added. I don't know what is going on with my phone and I just want the contacts I have on my computer windows live messenger to be on my phone and I've tried several times fixing my contact list on my computer and turning off my phone and logging back in but it's the same problem. If anyone knows how to fix this, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am running Windows Live Mail on a Dell Vostro laptop running W7 Professinal. When starting WLM I get an APPcrash in wlmail.exe when the Microsoft Upadte KB2505438 is installed. If I uninstall the KB WLM works fine but as soon as the KB is installed the APPcrash returns. I have updated WLM from version 15.4.3502.922 to 15.4.3508.1109 but the same problem is there. read more

Hi,
trid to log into my hotmail account last nite only to find it had been blocked. I was unable to unblock it by answering security question as i could not remember the answer to this ( set up the account many years ago) also my alternate email was a university account which is no longer accessible so i could not ask for a verification code to be sent to this account either.
I set up an alternate email account in order to access windows live temporary forum as directed, it said I should expect response from their tech support within 24hrs, but i have heard nothing. I understand from googling that there is no direct phone number or email contact support for hotmail.
I really need to access my account as i have important documents saved in there. Please help, any advice is appreciated. read more

Using Windows 7 with Windows Live Mail flawlessly since I got my new computer - about 3 months now. The other morning I try to send an email, and I get a message that my "user name/password is incorrect", "server error 0x800CCC90" and Mail Error 0x800CCC92. I have never had to enter a password or user name - I am the only one here, so I always use the "remember pw" box if available. I went into mail profiles, re-did everything, checked the addresses, POP and SMTP - all correct, I am able to send, receive, compose, etc. on the actual Road Runner website, but I kinda like the Live Mail site. What the heck happened? How can this program work at night, and by the morning - it is AFU? I am going bonkers! read more

WLM and Email Alias's

I have searched for about 2 hours for an answer... hopefully someone here can help me.

I decided that I was going to use Windows Live Desktop, as it seems to move a bit faster than the web browser and I need speed when I am working. I was able to set up my main account with no problem ... so that is not the problem. The problem is that I have 4 email alias's attached to that account so that my emails from both of my jobs, as well as personal emails can all land in one inbox instead of multiple email accounts. When I attempt to send an email, Windows Live Desktop does not give me an option to choose which email to send from like it does in the web based. I can send all day from the main email account without any problems, but when I want to send using one of my alias addresses, there is no option to chose that email address. For example, I want to send an email pertaining to work and I am unable to select that email address as there is NO place to make this choice. I cannot add it as another account, as it is not an actual account... and I can't simply change my reply to address, or I would be doing this every single time I want to send a message. Any idea how I can get this working in the Windows Live Desktop like it does in the browser based email? read more

Never had this problem before, have been successfully using WLM for about 10 months. Now all of a sudden:

I go to sync my mail (send/recieve), and a dialog pops up wanting me to enter username and password (this dialog has never appeared before). Actually, those fields are pre-populated. If I hit OK, the box remains, nothing happens. If I hit cancel, I get this message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Sbcglobal (-----) account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

using non-hotmail e-mail account (provided by my cable carrier). old windows mail blocked junk (sometimes too well) from people or domains i blocked. windows live mail 2011 lets all the mail thru, even though these names and domains still show up as blocked in the security settings. i have repeatedly tried to block them- and they still show up in the inbox. the only time anything goes in the junk mail box is when i mark it as junk.

I just created this new email address today on hotmail, email address is sweetheart1023@hotmail.com. I frequently use my messenger touch to send emails through hotmail to my contacts. tonight, I was sending an email and twice it erased it and said that my email was suspicious (lol???) and I would have to log into my account from a computer and unblock it (fine). so I signed in through my computer, and I have asked it to send the silly code (for lack of a better term) to my mobile phone as it wanted to, TWICE, and still no code. This is my account! I can even tell them the email contact's address I was emailing from my phone that it blocked me from in the first place! I cannot lose this, I forwarded lots of sensitive information to this account when I made it just earlier today, and I need it unblocked right now. This really is frustrating. I very much would appreciate any help you can offer me. I put my yahoo email address above because thankfully yahoo doesn't block email accounts for legit actions like windows live does.... so I should be able to see your replies there. Default Contacts from Windows Live 2009 to 2011?

Hello,

I have a new computer and have installed Windows 7 with the new Windows Live 2011 (Wave 4).

I have also a backup from my last computer with the Live Mail and contacts folder of Windows Live 2009 (Wave 3).

My problem is:

How do I get my default contacts (without a live ID) from Windows Live 2009 to Windows Live 2011?

The copy of the file called contacts.edb (2MB) to the now location ...\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Contacts\Default\15.4\DBStore won't work. If I start Windows Live Mail without a Live ID the file grows to 6MB but no contact will be displayed. What's going wrong?

Is there any chance to get my contacts? Is there a hack or a registry tweak that Windows Live imports my default contacts to the new format?

Is there a way to delete a friend from the friends list in my profile (something that other "friends" may see) but not delete them from my contact list (which i presume is a private list).

Viewing pane does not display message

I am running windows xp sp3 with Windows Live Mail 2002 aka ver 12.

Recently I started experiencing problems with the viewing pane. When you highlight a message, you are supposed to see the email in the preview pane which I set up to be below the header pane. The problem is the only thing I see is the hourglass when I put the mouse over it. When I read the message source, the entire message is there so it appears to be some sort of rendering problem within the software.

A complete wipe of the hard drive, reinstall of xp with all updates, and WLM yielded no results.

Here's the kicker. My other machine at home has the same version which is running fine with no problems.

One subtle difference I noticed is when you check for the version the one at home gives me the actual version build (12.0.1012...) and this one doesn't...it just says [build %s]

Build 14 completely destroys my address book, and categories so I have no interest in dealing with that.

Contacts not Syncing

I have recently bought a new PC and had to migrate from Vista Windows Mail to Win 7 and Windows Live. The problem is that whenever I import my old contacts (Win Live Contacts, File, Import, Address Book for Current Windows User) a short while later I lose half of them. All that I am left with is the Contacts that are on my Windows Live ID ie it appears the online contacts are simply replacing any offline contacts.

This happens even when I am NOT signed in.

I have tried deleting all existing contacts and re-importing but same problem.

I have Googled this but cannot find a solution. Am using the latest build of WLM 14.0.8117.0416

I would appreciate any suggestions.

I have two laptops on a home network. One is Vista-64 and one is Windows 7-64. My mail is left on the server, so I can access same emails from either laptop, but when I send or delete email from one of them, it does not show on the other one.

Can I create a shortcut for windows live mail on one of the laptops and place in a shared folder on the other laptop, so that I'm only opening the mail in one location, but can see the exact same thing on the other computer. Right now I'm using WLM on both laptops, and Bcc any mail that I send out and then opening on the other laptop and dragging to my sent folder. When I delete on one, I have to also delete on the other.

I just want to do eveything one time on one computer and be able to open my email on the other computer and see the exact same thing. Will a shortcut work for this? Has anyone tried this?

I have just had to update my computer and I am now using Windows Live Mail, having previously used Outlook Express. I am running a trial version of Office Professional 2010.

However, I have now started to get the following error message when I am in WLM:

"Sorry something unexpected happened and Windows Live Mail must close. Your most recent changes may not be saved."

This happening all of the time and if I am using the calander, I loose the information I have just entered.

Also my contacts list that I imported, from my previous version, has also dissapeared.

When I am writing emails, if the message above appears, I can still send and receive emails, but can't spell check them.

I've looked for fixes on-line, but everything is Vista related and not Windows 7.

Any help would be great - thank you.

Hi there! I wish to sync my Windows Mobile device (an ancient HTC X7500) with my brandnew Windows 7 Calendar. Now I read on the MS site that this is not possible: WMD only syncs with Outlook, not with Calendar. So what do I do now? Install good old Outlook on my Windows 7 computer, if possible? Webcam size option problem with Live Messenger video call.

Hello All.

I'll nutshell this i guess as im sure these problems have been coming and going for a while now. during a video call, my friend went onto his manycam programl(this allows you to view the persons desktop and follow his mouse around his computer if selected) and i noticed that his webcam windows during the call were rather larger than mine. so i asked what size he was using and he said Large. so i went down to the drop down arrow near my webcam and his, and the only options I get are 'small, and medium' and then 'fullscreen' so im wondering why the hell is this?!

Things i suppose ought to know are that:

-Im in the UK and hes in the US

-both on windows 7

-his live messenger build is: 2009 Build = 14.0.8089.726

Mine is: 2009 build = 14.0.8117.416

I'm using a Logitech C250 webcam, his is a built in webcam.

so yeah. is it the patch? or the continent difference?

and how do i downgrade to his version if that is at all an option.

I managed to get over the removal of single sending webcams without audio, but now it seems ive noticed that theyve taken something else away now.

hmm that wasn't really nutshelled but meh.
