Romee Strijd and Frida Aasen have both confirmed they won’t be walking this year’s show after going through casting in New York City a few weeks ago.

Romee, a former Victoria’s Secret Angel who walked the show from 2014 to 2018, opened up about the rejection in a series of candid TikTok videos. Frida also confirmed she didn’t make the lineup.

Romee explained that she had spent the summer training and preparing for a potential return to the runway after having two children. She traveled to NYC for casting in September, then spent weeks waiting for an answer. Eventually, she was told she wouldn’t be part of the show, with the explanation that the team didn’t think she’d fit this year’s lineup.

She said the experience made her feel unsupported by her agency and suggested she probably wouldn’t audition for the show again. That’s a pretty disappointing ending for someone who helped make the brand’s runway so memorable.

And then there’s Frida Aasen, another stunning model who would have looked right at home in those wings. We’re not saying Victoria’s Secret has to bring back every familiar face, but good luck finding two hotter women to walk that runway this year…

Victoria’s Secret has been trying to reinvent its fashion show and appeal to a new generation, but surely there’s room for established Angels who already know how to deliver the fantasy.

We can only imagine what kind of trolls VS has replaced these two angels with this year.
