Itefa - Onifa ; What Makes an Ifa Priest Awo Share it;

Todays topic deals with the growing trend globally, this is performing initiation into Ifa and never spending the needed time to actually study Ifa, which really makes one Awo Ifa.

This is very important because too many untrained initiates are moving around falsely calling themselves Awo Ifa, this podcast episode addresses this growing trend and hopes to appeal to those people, to make Ifa study a serious study.

The Eko’Fa Podcast; the teachings of Ifa, for students of Ifa’s wisdom and knowledge. We are the first and only Ifa broadcast teaching Ifa to those interested, globally.

We have registered listeners in Europe, Latin America, Caribbean Islands, North America, within just a short time and I have heard from some followers of Ifa from the Orient. This shows to the extent people want to listen and learn about Ifa’s wisdom and knowledge.

Ifa literally and figuratively speaking, is the “word” of Olodumare, on how we, the inhabitants of this world ought to live, in order to be in accordance with the Creator - Olodumare. Ifa comes from the Yoruba people of West Africa, and is a system of thought, worship and existence.
Ifa dates back to the beginning of time as we know it, and before human beings first walked on this Earth.

Orunmila is the Divine Messenger of Ifa.

Todays Topic Ori & Eegun, Building a Solid Foundation, explains the propose of receiving and venerating ones Ancestors and ones Ori.
Also what does Ifa say about the need or importance of paying due respect to ones lineage and Ori (higher self).
I suggest if you have not done so already, read my blogs on Ori & Purpose, which will shed additional light on the worship and understanding of Ori preeminence in ones life, defining Ori as the highest Deity we as humans have and can cherish.

Todays topic is a critical analysis of what is Ifa ? and how could someone define Ifa ?
The Eko’Fa Podcast, the teachings of Ifa for students of Ifa’s wisdom and knowledge. We are the first and only Ifa broadcast teaching Ifa to those interested, globally.

“Babalawo rere ni ndifa
Eniyan rere nii dibo
Eni ba feyin t’ope
Nii gbohun Olorun
Nii maa jise ebo rere fun ni
Dia fun Teterogbo
Nijo to nsawo lo si Ife Oodaye……..”

Translation:
“A pious Babalawo is he who casts Ifa
And an honest person is he who consults Ifa
And holds the Ibo (Ifa determinants)
He who reclines against the old Palm Tree uses it as his pillar of support
Such a person will surely hear the voice of the heavens (Olodumare)
And relay to us offering of benevolent and rewarding ebo
These were the Ifa’s declaration to Teterogbo (Amarantus Spp).
When going on a spiritual mission to Ife Oodaye ………”

This stanza of Ifa explains the posture the Ifa Diviner will take while divining and the source of his information, in ancient times Ifa Priest were always found casting Ifa at the base of the Holy Palm Tree the source, and nowadays is normally found sitting comfortably bracing against a wall, as his point of access.
