According to a recent study by the Center for Disease Control, the air pollution levels in five out of nine U.S. airports tested were 23 times higher than smoke-free airports. And as it was specified, those heavily polluted parts of the airports were the smoking designated areas, which are the bars, restaurants and/or ventilated smoking rooms.

As the study determined those five airports that instead of banning smoking allowed it are the following: Denver International, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International, McCarran International in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City International, and Washington Dulles International. Their air-quality data were collected from Oct. 19 and Nov. 1.

With the result of this new CDC study, the complete banning of cigarette smoking in airports should be seriously considered by the government.
