People want an alternative to Twitter

2020-06-29T21:52:00.004-05:00

I discovered micro.blog a few years ago. Looking into it. I do see Twitter as a real battleground, however, there's nothing wrong with looking at alternatives to a social networking site many believe is biased towards certain opinions, especially those users who hold opinions that some find fit to just report as offensive....

#MOREHOUSEGRAD2019 Since I've been seeing a lot of praise for Robert F. Smith who is a tech investor and philanthrophist. He's offering a grant for the Morehouse College class of 2019 to pay off their student loans. Now I want to share a full video of his commencement address, all 36 minutes [VIDEO]

I WANTED TO SHARE THIS POST TO MY OTHER BLOG. An old clip from the Judge Mathis program where he's reduced to tears by the treatment of a young man by his uncle. The young man is trying to better himself but the uncle just doesn't know how to let up on the toughness. I wouldn't be surprised if that relationship is strained! But then that's a long time ago and who knows if there will ever be an update.

This is a tough clip to watch, the relationship between two Black men https://t.co/PfTIICWkM0 pic.twitter.com/FVpAFoMTtz

I BARELY REMEMBER WEBSTER. All I know about the actor who played him was well, he went to Clark-Atlanta University. I'm getting an almost 12 minute lesson about his series finale where somehow he's transported to the bridge of the USS Enterprise. Yeah as a "trekkie" it's bizarre to me as well. I'm cringing at the idea of this episode. [VIDEO]

I WOULDN'T MIND HAVING A 24/7 WEBCAM ON A MODEL TRAIN SET. Especially with a nicely designed rural landscape layout or even running through a town streetscape. For now we'll just have to enjoy this web cam of model trains from Virtual Railfan. [VIDEO]

#CHIMAYOR19 I JUST HAVE TO ADMIT THAT I WISH THAT I HAD THE AMBITION THIS DAVID KRUPA KID HAD AT 19 YEARS OLD. He filed petitions running for Alderman of the 13th Ward, why is that significant because that college student is running for Alderman in the home ward of state house speaker Michael Madigan, and Madigan doesn't play!

And the story is since we're in petition signature challenges season is that affidavits were filed to remove signatures from Krupa's petition. Weird I say, and this is something you will see on today's CapFax.

13th Ward files 2,700 revocation affidavits for opponent’s 1,703 petition signatures https://t.co/TgobKPISwM

SERIOUSLY? STOPPING CLIMATE CHANGE COULD END RACISM?

Now wait hold on, that's a strange association. The new leftist rockstar in the US Congress Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez suggests that transitioning to 100% renewable energy will truly establish racial justice.

THE #METOO MOVEMENT IS THE DONALD TRUMP OF FEMINISM: loud, obnoxious, predatory, self-absorbed, and full of half-truths. I support womanism.

Well I agree with most of this statement! I want justice for victims of sexual assault, however, I also don't want the accused to be railroaded into guilt. That's no more fair than forcing victims to suffer in silence.

SO AS ONE ALDERMAN FACES CORRUPTION CHARGES IN FEDERAL COURT another Alderman in Chicago - one of the most powerful in Chicago - has a federal search warrant executed on their city hall and local offices.

Ald. Ed Burke it has been noted that he was the property tax attorney to Donald Trump - at least until earlier this year. And thus David Axelrod - the former political advisor to Barack Obama - wonders if the current federal raid on Burke has something to do with Trump. Perhaps we will no more soon but much agreed with Rich Miller of the Capitol Fax this may not end well.

LET'S DEFINE NARROWLY! Newsalert shares an erroneous headline from a biased source trying to portray a 54-46 win for US Senate in Mississippi for one Cindy Hyde Smith over former Clinton US Secretary of Commerce Mike Espy as a narrow victory.

I'M KEEPING AN EYE ON THIS ONE. A Chicago Alderman set to change his plea in federal court this morning.

This Alderman - Willie Cochran 20th ward - went down for bribery and decided not to run for re-election in 2019. Just think he succeeded another alderman who also went down on federal charges.
