The Digilent Analog Discovery Pro (ADP2230) is a small, portable, mixed signal oscilloscope (MSO) designed for professional engineers. It features two analog inputs (50+ MHz bandwidth), one analog output (15 MHz bandwidth) and digital I/O, with deep memory buffers all operating at up to 125 MSa/s. Users can both receive and generate digital signals to test and analyse data from various devices while simultaneously powering those systems with the device’s power supply. The design allows the MSO to perform the functions of several test and measurement devices, to replace a number of traditional instruments.

With Free WaveForms’ user interface software, users can view and capture complex data, perform spectral and network analysis, and retrieve large amounts of data. STMicroelectronics NeoChromVG GPU

STMicroelectronics has launched the NeoChromVG GPU, a vector graphics accelerator for general-purpose microcontrollers. NeoChromVG GPU is a traditional NeoChrom GPU with a hardware unit designed to accelerate vector graphics computations, such as quadratic Bézier curves, which are very common in vector fonts, Bézier tessellation to render surfaces and vector calculations for vertex transformation, among other things, to rapidly draw vector graphics on screen.

The device relies on the same texture mapper as the regular NeoChrom GPU and has similar features like L8 compression. Vector graphic acceleration simply becomes an additional tool in a developer’s arsenal to enhance their UI. The feature also comes on the heels of TouchGFX 4.23, which has gained support for vector fonts.

The GPU will be available on the new STM32U5G9 and STM32U5F9, the former being the version housing a crypto core. Both will feature 3 MB of RAM and 4 MB of dual-bank flash. This hardware configuration enables customers to move to a single-chip design that didn’t require external memory at all, while the increase in internal memory and vector graphics support helped others use smaller NAND devices. In both cases, it helps simplify the PCB design to move to only four layers and lower the bill of materials.

STMicroelectronics is releasing the STM32U5G9J-DK, with a 480 x 480 display, and the STM32U5G9J-DK2, with an 800 x 480 screen, as well as a UI demo showing what developers can accomplish with vector graphics.

Metromatics now offers the MicroStrain by HBK 3DM-GQ7-GNSS/INS. This sensor is designed to provide accurate positioning and orientation, making it suitable for guiding drones and unmanned vehicles or even navigating autonomous robots.

The flame-retardant UL94-V0 ABS IP54 1556 family of enclosures is inspired by the IP68 polycarbonate 1557 series. It features the same modern rounded corners and top face styling and introduces rectangular versions to complement the square formats derived from the 1557 series. IP54 sealed for general-purpose indoor use, the ABS material gives a lower price point than the polycarbonate used in the 1557, which is designed for installation outdoors and in aggressive environments. Self-tapping screws secure the lid to the base, for applications where repeated access is not required. There are multiple PCB mounting standoffs in both the lid and the base.

There are four square sizes from 80 x 80 to 200 x 200 mm and three rectangular ones from 120 x 80 to 200 x 160 mm. All are available in black, RAL 7035 grey and white and there are two heights: 45 and 60 mm for the smallest size and 45 and 70 mm for the larger ones. The enclosure is suitable for desktops when fitted with the supplied feet; it can also be wall-mounted with four visible brackets or two hidden ones. METCASE TECHNOMET-CONTROL aluminium enclosures

METCASE has launched the TECHNOMET-CONTROL aluminium enclosures for electronic control systems, panel PCs and HMI electronics. They are designed for mounting on standard VESA brackets/arms, walls, machines and round poles.

The enclosures are suitable for indoor applications such as industrial machine control, factory processing, security systems, test and measurement, point of sale, IIoT and detection equipment. The enclosures are suitable specifically for Siemens TP displays (sizes KTP400 to TP1200) but can also house touchscreens and displays by other manufacturers, including Beckhoff and B&R.

The enclosures feature a cohesive design, with diecast front and rear bezels that fit flush with the main case body. Snap-on trims hide all the assembly screws. The enclosures are easy to customise in any size, with plenty of space for connectors. The front panel is recessed in the bezel to protect displays and membrane keypads. At the rear VESA MIS-D 100 mounting points are provided for fitting an off-the-shelf VESA control arm or wall bracket. The base panel on the underside is removable with space for cable entry.

Inside, the assembly extrusions have M3 holes and guide rails to hold internal plates, and the rear panel has M3 PCB pillars. All the case panels are fitted with M4 threaded pillars for earth connections. Some studs can also be used with retaining straps to secure the front and rear panels during maintenance.

TECHNOMET-CONTROL is available as standard in four sizes from 230 x 180 mm to 420 x 300 mm, with a slim profile that is 95 mm deep. The standard colour is traffic grey A (RAL 7042) or combination traffic grey A/traffic white (RAL 7042/9016). Custom colours are also available on request. Microchip Technology PIC18-Q20 microcontrollers

Microchip Technology has released the PIC18-Q20 family of microcontrollers (MCUs). These low pin count MCUs feature up to two I3C peripherals and Multi-Voltage I/O (MVIO). Available in 14- and 20-pin packages as small as 3 x 3 mm, the MCUs are suitable for real-time control, touch sensing and connectivity applications. The MCUs offer configurable peripherals, advanced communication interfaces and easy connection across multiple voltage domains without external components.

With I3C functionality and the ability to operate on three independent voltage domains, the MCUs are designed to be used in conjunction with a primary MCU in a larger overall system. This family of MCUs can perform tasks such as processing sensor data, handling low latency interrupts and system status reporting. While the central processing unit (CPU) runs at a different voltage domain, the I3C peripheral operates from 1.0 to 3.6 V. These low-power, small form factor MCUs can be used in a range of space-sensitive applications and markets including automotive, industrial control, computing, consumer, IoT and medical.

The MCUs offer high communication rates and lower power consumption, all while maintaining backward compatibility with legacy systems. Advantech has released the SQRAM DDR5 5600 series industrial-grade DDR5 memory. This series features speeds of up to 5600 MT/s. STMicroelectronics STLINK-V3PWR probe

The STLINK-V3 is designed to debug and program an STM32 microcontroller. The probe is designed to transfer data faster than the previous generation and with more flexibility, due to its STDC-14 connector and its support of a virtual COM port. Besides traditional programming and debugging, the probe can measure the power consumption of an STM32, draw energy profiles and help visualise current draws to help developers enhance their code.

The probe can sense currents from 100 nA to 50 mA, 300 nA to 150 mA, 600 nA to 300 mA and a 500 mA peak mode. It can also perform power measurements from 160 nW to 1.65 W with a 2% accuracy on the whole range to enable developers to target any microcontrollers, from the ultra-low-power ones to the highest-performing models.

Users can connect the power and ground of the STLINK-V3PWR probe to the correct pins on their development board and use the USB-C interface to send data to a PC. OKW Gehäusesysteme SOLID-BOX enclosure range

The SOLID-BOX enclosure range by OKW Gehäusesysteme is designed to meet a range of requirements for modern electronics packaging in industrial environments or in protected outdoor areas. Flush-fitting, snap-on trims conceal the screw attachments and, together with the polished enclosure surface, provide a streamlined appearance.

The two-part robust industrial enclosure is available from stock in the two standard colours anthracite grey (RAL 7016) and light grey (RAL 7035). Three different versions with 135 x 115 x 50 mm, 180 x 145 x 60 mm as well as 225 x 175 x 70 mm (L x W x H) allow the assembly of visually uniform enclosure series. A recessed panel for integrating membrane keyboards is located on the top surface.

The enclosure range is made of flame-retardant V0 material (PC+ABS-FR) with an improved heat distortion temperature (Vicat/B 120 = 110°C). To protect the electronics from moisture, dust and dirt, the interior is sealed to IP66/IP67. The enclosure design also allows increased resistance to impact and shock stress according to IK08.

The upper and lower parts are assembled using rust-proof and captured Torx screws outside the sealed interior. The enclosure screw connections, as well as the channels for direct wall mounting, are then innovatively concealed by the supplied design trims (surface slightly structured). Each enclosure bottom part has two recessed surfaces for installing and protecting interfaces and cable connections. To match the appearance, black cable glands and bushings in various designs (M12-M20, Quick-Fix assembly, easy-to-pierce membrane, etc) and a cable gland with integrated pressure compensation are available as accessories.

As a wall-mounted and desktop enclosure, the SOLID-BOX is suitable for robust electrical and electronic applications. Typical applications include heating and air conditioning, plant engineering and construction, diverse areas of the IIoT and the smart factory as well as safety engineering, etc. For desktop positioning, a set of suitable enclosure feet is available. To prevent the top part from falling during initial assembly or in the event of subsequent servicing, the enclosure range is supplemented by a cover retention device. If users need to open the enclosure several times, they can also use the internal hinge set (both are included in the range of accessories). Fastening pillars inside the enclosure allow the installation of PCBs, DIN rails and mounting plates. The larger versions also include pre-moulded mounts for VESA standard holders (version 145 for VESA 75 x 75 mm, version 175 for VESA 100 x 100 mm). Like all the services listed below, the holes required for this can be drilled in the in-house service centre: EMC aluminium coating, printing, mechanical processing, laser marking, decor foils/labels/stickers and assembly work.

STMicroelectronics STM32H5 microcontroller

The STM32H5 is the new reference mainstream microcontroller featuring powerful Cortex-M33 implementation that is designed to reach 1017 points in CoreMark because of its extensive security capabilities. The device runs at 250 MHz. It houses up to 2 MB of dual bank Flash and up to 640 KB of RAM. It also draws from previous models to offer a CORDIC and FMAC accelerator, as in the STM32G4.

Similarly, it takes the security features of the STM32U5 and builds on them by inaugurating the ST immutable Root of Trust (iRoT) and updatable Root of Trust (uRoT), among other things. The device will have a SESIP Level 3 certification. The device also adds more features, such as a two-stage root of trust: the immutable and updatable root of trust or iRoT and uRoT. As the name implies, the former is set at the factory and cannot be modified. It uses a read-only memory containing keys and other mechanisms defined by ST to establish a secure boot without external keys.

Advantech has launched the MIO-5376, an SBC designed for EV chargers. With the growing popularity of electric vehicles (EVs) despite limited infrastructure, the demand for reliable and efficient chargers has increased. To meet this demand, Advantech has developed the MIO-5376, an industrial 3.5″ SBC powered by AMD Ryzen Embedded R2000 Processors, offering diverse I/O options for integration and system design.

Fast EV chargers require high computing performance and image capabilities. The SBC leverages AMD Ryzen Embedded R2000 Processors to optimise performance while maintaining a balance between image processing and computing capabilities. It supports up to three simultaneous displays in 4K resolution, facilitating information conveyance.

The SBC features multiple serial ports, including CANBus for charging, M.2 B-Key slots for OTA 5G and Wi-Fi, M.2 slots for storage, and various RS-232 and RS-485 ports for additional device integration. Moreover, the SBC incorporates Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology, enabling power and data delivery to PoE devices like IP cameras, simplifying deployment and reducing installation costs by utilising a single cable.

With outdoor deployment and rugged environments in mind, the SBC is designed to operate within a temperature range of -40 to 85°C and supports a power input range of 12–24 V. Hammond Electronics 1557 IP68 wall mount/desktop plastic enclosures

The Hammond Electronics 1557 family of wall mount/desktop plastic enclosures features a modern smooth style with rounded corners and top face. The enclosure’s IP68 environmental sealing enables the unit to be installed in any environment. The 1557 can be used as a free-standing enclosure when fitted with the supplied feet, or it can be wall-mounted with either four visible fixings or two hidden ones.

Four plan sizes, each in two heights in black and RAL 7035 grey, are available in UL Listed IP68 polycarbonate. The sizes are 80 x 80 x 45 mm and 60mm; and 120 x 120, 160 x 160 and 200 x 200 mm in heights of 45 and 70 mm.

PCB standoffs are provided in both the lid and base. For mounting heavier components, 2 mm aluminium internal panels are also available. The enclosure is assembled with corrosion-resistant M4 stainless steel screws threaded into integral bushes for repetitive assembly and disassembly. The IP68 polycarbonate versions are UV stabilised for outdoor use with a UL94-5VA rating and the IP66 ABS general-purpose versions have a flammability rating of UL94-HB for indoor use.
