Those visually stunning troubadours from Empire Of The Sun return with their fourth single released on Virgin called "Without You". And just as you would come to expect - the music video is a glorious piece of film complete with thrones, bulls, red potions and an intergalactic jungle gym. All the things that are not supposed to go together in a music video, but somehow do...

More importantly, this is probably my favorite single from Empire Of The Sun - not so left-field, but more of a softer electronica vibe to it - like Tears For Fears on mushrooms. Enjoy the video!

This beat is hot!

Already becoming local celebrities on the West Coast, The Cataracs, who are one of Universal's latest signings, are onto something good with their latest single "Club Love". Quite literally, they are singing about finding love in the club (nothing new there) but the electro-pop beat certainly does have a swagger to it that is fresh, edgy and totally relevant.

I'm really digging this track and can't wait to start spinning it at EQ Club nights. The best lyric from the song?... "I'm gonna do the Facebook and poke ya..." - Risque.

You know I can't quite believe I haven't blogged about LectroLips yet. They sent me their debut record "Keyboard Sexy" awhile ago and I throughly enjoyed it. It has a real La Roux quality to it and for fans of that micro genre in electronic music, I think you'll enjoy it. Simple yet calculated and complex 80s keyboard music with a twist - really it's good stuff.

Well since then, the London duo have put together a new track called "Supersize The Synthesizer" and have made it available for FREE download for all EQ readers below! LectroLips have also been working on a fun cover version of Madonna's "Think Of Me" which is really sounding pretty amazing - you can preview it on their MySpace. I think given a proper promotional push for the final track - it could be a breatkthrough for them - after all, nu-retro is so hot right now.

Say hello to Shugar Boy!

We had about 20 remixes submitted for the EQ / Masterbeat Remix Competition for Kaci Battaglia's new single "Crazy Possesive" and Shugar Boy's remix was the winner, receiving the most votes from all the entries submitted - what he did with the song is just amazing! You can hear his winning electro remix over on his MySpace page right now!

Shugar Boy is also an up-and-coming Canadian electro-pop musician and we even hear he's working on his own single as we speak - and from what we've heard of his remix capabilities, he surely might be one to watch in the future!

EQ and Masterbeat would like to thank everyone who entered the remix competition and took the time to lend their musical talent to Kaci's new single - there were some really creative and original entries and it was a pleasure to listen to all of them!

Again, make sure to give Shugar Boy some love over on his MySpace page and just for the fun of it, let's take a look at Kaci Battaglia's video to "Crazy Possesive" one more time...

Fans of Imogen Heap will probably appreciate the quirky soft electronica of Madeleine Bloom - I know I do.

It's kinda all early days for Madeleine, but her track "Euphoria" is a somewhat of an electronica dream that I've listened to about three times now and in my world - that pretty much means I like it.

It's a little left-field, a little bit dreamy and it's obviously Madeleine likes to smile a lot, but I just had to share this today with you - you may or may not like it but since you are here reading this - well, give it a go...like I said, it's very Imogen Heap-ish and you all know I'm a huge fan.

Madeleine Bloom on MySpace - FREE Download of "Euphoria".

Next Tuesday - Dec 1st, a Depeche Mode fan film will be screened across the UK.

The film is called "The Posters Came From The Walls" and is directed by Nicholas Abrahams & Jeremy Deller who will be bringing their documentary about the devoted and maybe somewhat overzealous Depeche Mode fans to life.

You know you're a legend in music when a film is made about your fans and Depeche Mode should be proud of the legions of fans from across the entire globe who have been devout followers since the band burst onto the electronic pop scene in the early 80's.

Below is a little clip from the film which shows how a German family doing a tribute to "Enjoy The Silence" and after the jump are the complete list of UK cinemas showing the film. If you don't have a gig to go to next Tuesday night, why not go see this? I think I will..

More info on the official website.

I am LOVING this song right now by new duo Kiss In Cities.

This little bit of electro-pop heaven is called "U R My Girl" and if you think the two hotties above look familiar, well you've seen them in another band I've written about called We Are (Performance).

So this whole throwback to the sound of 1987 Madonna/Jellybean sounds uber fresh right now and if Kiss In Cities are going to continue to make songs in this vein, then they might be a band that I could quite easily start obsessing over.

I asked Kiss In Cities to provide some commentary about the track and this is what they had to say:

"The track is about girls. Being strong and sticking up for each other against the odds. It's about friendship and sisterhood; Fun and deviance. Inspiration = friends, sisters, strong female figures, pink flamingos and freedom. Dance dance dance! Look out for each other, embrace the absurd and ALWAYS maintain a positive vibe!
The video was inspired by the film Warriors, Tank Girl and a Native American aesthetic. We shot it above Dry Bar, which was opened by Factory Records. Amongst lots of dead pigeons, broken bottles and some 1980s graffiti done by Madonna, we danced around and had some fun. The best part was filling the balloons with glitter and then hitting them with our weapons.

The video was inspired by the film Warriors, Tank Girl and a Native American aesthetic.
Check them out on MySpace and enjoy the video in it's tribal Sunscreem/Jane Child glory to "U R My Girl" right now!

Probably my favorite song from David Guetta's new album - "One Love" featuring Estelle is finally getting it's proper single release next week. It's been playing non-stop on the music video channels over here in the UK for about a week now and its blend of electro, soul and silky smooth lyricism by Estelle makes for one hot track that is sure to ignite your favourite nightclub pretty soon.

Whether you love him or hate him, you can't deny that David Guetta sure knows how to put a good beat together doesn't he?...enjoy the video!
