According to The Knot, Inc.'s third annual survey, Maine, Hawaii, and North Carolina have the most casual weddings. (The most formal are in Detroit, Chicago, New York City and surround, South Florida, and Connecticut.)

The survey was of 18,000 couples married in 2008.

On September 13, Maine couple Kate Erwin and Brad Siegel celebrated their wedding on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise. Okay, they weren't exactly on the Enterprise, but a replica at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Erwin and Siegel won Philadelphia's Star Trek Exhibition Wedding Competition, edging out more than a dozen other entries to win the ceremony at the Fels Planetarium, a private party at the "Trek" exhibit, and two nights at the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing. The couple met in 2006 at a Star Trek convention.

Spider-Man, Aquaman, Flash, The Hulk and Batman served as groomsmen, while the bride had Amazon warriors as bridesmaids. Jor-El, Superman's father (presumably brought back from the dead), presided.
