Hello, i’ve been working on this for a while now, and it’s almost ready for launch: let me know your thoughts:

Two plugins from Våld Labs, shown back to back. Vekte sequencing Tresse.

Vekte is a generative MIDI sequencer built on the same principle as our upcoming hardware sequencer Rekke: you grow your patterns, and scupt them down.

A library of algorithmic engines — Euclidean, Markov, cellular automata, L-systems and others — produces material that’s deterministic and reproducible from a seed, but large enough in its parameter space that it never stops surprising you.

Tresse is the synth on the receiving end, a multi-engine voice with a continuous SEM-style filter morph, in the macro oscillator synth realm.

In this clip both run as plugins, but both philosophies are also coming out in our hardware.

Vekte:
Multiple generative engines, each a distinct algorithm rather than a preset
Complete modulation routing (internal and external) in 4 lanes.
A vast amount of scales, chords, divisions, and everything you need to create rich polyrhytms. Playhead directions, totally independent from each other.
Seed-based recall — the same seed always rebuilds the same pattern

Tresse
39 polyphonic synth engines, with a variable-state SEM-style filter, LFO, wavefolder and more.

Soon in: VST3, AU3, iOS, Standalone

Hello friends! So far I’ve struggled to find a clear answer to this, so I thought I’d ask here myself and hopefully learn something along the way, as well as generate a future answer for anyone else that comes up against something similar.

I’d like to sync my Model: Samples to an analog setup based around the Moog Labyrinth and the DfAM but can’t quite figure it all out. The Labyrinth sends a clock signal to the DfAM to sync up their tempos, but I’d love to also integrate the M:S. Is there a way of generating a clock signal from the M:S? Alternatively, the Labyrinth does have a Midi input, but I haven’t manage to figure out the correct settings in the M:S to get this to work. Can anyone advise?

To be clear, I’m only really talking about tempo matching and maybe start/stop,
not full MIDI implementation.

Many thanks for your thoughts!

Any chance to control the amp release without using yellow trigs or external midi input?
From time to time i can hearing the amp release acting with the arp on, but i can’t figure out how to take control over it.
Any help will be much appreciated

Hi. I was thinking of getting the TV to run slave to the OT.
Are pattern changes working when it runs as slave?

I’ve been using a 1010blackbox to run sequenced multisamples longer than 4 bars but it behaves strangely sometimes. So the TV would replace it.
I have a Rytm and it works perfectly as a slave and is a joy.
Hoping for the same level of elektron quality.

New here. Cheers to you all.

MANTICE - Ambient Drone Generator

bassimat

Ciao everybody,

I am a passionate Digitakt 2 user and I would like to share with you MANTICE, a procedural ambient drone generator I wrote. It’s open source and available online for everybody. The name comes from the Italian word for organ bellows - the invisible breath engine that gives life to the pipes. Like a mantice, this tool provides the continuous, living airflow beneath your sound.

2) Ambient Drones by MANTICE Vol. 2

MANTICE features:

🔢 Real-time, math-generated audio—no samples. Each render is unique (seed-lockable).

🎚️ Presets use up to 5 independent layers, each with its own timbre, motion, and 3D position.

⚙️ Three engines: FM, subtractive, and granular (with curated organic samples).

🎛️ Sculpt with multimode filters, overtones, noise, and per-layer chorus/flanger/phaser/distortion.

🌐 Immersive spatial movement: orbit, drift, bounce, or random—great on headphones.

✨ Global polish: soft saturation, FDN reverb with shimmer, master EQ/compressor/limiter, optional binaural beats, plus Earth & Air beds.

⏱️ Evolve over time with full parameter automation and quick-start templates.

🎼 Just Intonation mode ties everything to a single tonic for beatless drones.

Any constructive feedback is welcome - hope you enjoy and have fun with it

Brain Recordings \ 18 generative devices for Ableton Live & Push 3 Standalone

Avenir

Hello everyone, I am pleased to present my latest work

18 Max for Live devices built for musique concrète, microsound, lowercase, and dissipative synthesis. Every module is a self-contained generative ecosystem autopoietic, probabilistic, and designed to never repeat exactly.

The bundle is full compatibble with Ableton Live 11/12 · Push 2/3 Controller · Push 3 Standalone but also with any midi controller

What’s inside:

Attractor synthesis. Van der Pol oscillator networks. Granular feedback accumulation. Glass particle generators. Electromagnetic field recordings. Nagra-inspired tape synthesis. Stochastic modal voices. Infrasonic bubble generation. Radio frequency interference emulation.

And the latest addition Fdbktrone: a recursive FM oscillator with self-modulating phase feedback. Carrier and modulator feed back into each other through a phase history loop static tuning is not possible. The Blast Room industrial reverb is built +

Antologia, similar to a granular synthesizer, but more a sound freezer designed to stretch transients, suspend audio material, and transform it into evolving masses. At the center of the device is Iceverb, a reverb built from a very large network of all-pass structures and deep feedback lines.

You can listen to some of the timbral character here, where you can also decide to explore further and pick up the bundle.

At the moment it’s difficult for me to make a dedicated video for each individual device, But there are already quite a few videos on YouTube to give you a good idea.

Everything built natively in gen~. No external dependencies. All parameters mapped directly to Push encoders. Push 3 Standalone ready.

More modules are coming.

As always, I’m happy to answer any questions you may have.

What poly synths are exciting to you lately?

Thisisthehaunt

Posted a thread here the other day regarding advice on a Moog and decided to go the mono route with the Subsequent 37 and I honestly couldn’t be happier with it. Bass lines have always been a secondary thing for me and I’ve had issues writing them, tbh but the S37 is very inspiring.

It’s also my first synthesizer with full sized keys. I have quite a few smaller synths and modules (Hydrasynth Explorer, Digitone II, Prophet Rev 2 desktop, Microfreak, Mother 32, Reface DX, etc…) and a large range of VSTs covering all the classics, plus Serum 2 and Pigments, but I know at some point down the road I will be wanting to get a flagship or higher end poly synth with full sized keys to set up with my S37.

Not something I will be purchasing any time soon, but everyone was super helpful and insightful in my Moog thread, it made me curious what Polys we are using or are excited about.

I tend to lean more towards analog synths when it comes to hardware, so several of the Sequential synths, Summit, Super 6, etc. are all very appealing options. I don’t keep up with new gear releases and the YouTube gear review stuff outside of Loopop, so what is everyone using, or what would your recommendations be.

Criteria would consist of: great sound (obviously), versatile (pads/leads/keys/bass), intuitive and if not knob per function entirely, very close to it, build quality, and how inspiring it is to play and write on.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts!

tunctmt

[minimal tonverk work] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLKzTZEDeRY&lc=UgzzRXtQLBb2dxEBXpp4AaABAg)

In this video, you will witness the collision of nature’s organic structure with synthetic sounds and vibrant neon colors. Using TouchDesigner, I made the footage of the Epiphyllum (Atlas) flower and other plants from my home fully audio-reactive to the rhythm of the track. By playing with the gamma and color settings, I created a neon, surreal visual world that dances in perfect harmony with the 120 BPM minimal electronic groove produced by the deep sound engine of the Elektron Tonverk.

The most special aspect of this project is that the music you hear was recorded in a single take, completely improvised (live jam) on the Elektron Tonverk, capturing the pure feeling of the moment without any prior preparation.

I hope you enjoy this audiovisual experience where mechanical rhythms, organic forms, and spontaneous inspiration meet!

A multi-cam edit of my Elektron Tonverk set from the 164th Rocky Mountain Synthesizer Meetup which I hosted at Clancy’s Irish Pub (Wheat Ridge/Denver), Feb 19, 2026. The theme was our popular Synth Groovebox Invasion which is rapid-fire groovebox sets up to 7 minutes.

This set goes to some unexpected places including some heavy drum fill action near end. I put chapter markers in description to annotate some Tonverk.

Hello friends, it’s time for the very last regular Syntakt Science Lab.

I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has participated in this lab series. Especially the regular posters, but also everyone who has posted sounds, or just cheered from the side line. I’ve had immense fun doing this, and have learnt so much. I hope you’ve had fun as well.

I feel a bit sad that this is coming to an end, mostly because of the nice community feel that it’s given me. I love you peeps For me, this is what the forum is about.

This does not mean that the SSL threads are closing. All threads will be open as long as this forum exists. I hope people will discover SSL threads in the future, and breathe new life into them. I’m positive there is more to uncover in the Syntakt.

So, on to the last lab:

Our one remaining machine is SD Vintage. This is a digital machine, which again leaves us with eight available tracks. The parameters are very specific to this machine, which hopefully means that there are some unique timbres available here.

Hi all

I recently started taking my physical healthy more seriously. A sedentary job and geeky hobbies don’t really cut it when it comes to cardiological health and keeping muscles in shape as age progresses.

This means that i have now taken more classes in my local gym and i must admit that i am a bit appalled by the music during workouts. Yes, it delivers the energy needed, but it is really uninspiring. I know they cant play Autechre or Aphex Twin to motivate weight lifting but still…

The question that i am really asking you all, is if you have suggestions for more interesting upbeat work-out music when running and working out on my own. My intention is not trying to influence the normies at the gym, just expanding my own horizon.

Playlists, links, etc is much appreciated

Probably not what most people on this forum are like, but I’m not a big start from scratch sound designer. I’m a sampler and so the challenge for me is finding source material. Something that inspires me to start chopping, flipping, sculpting. Currently this mostly involves trawling through sample packs, YouTube videos etc. My dream is something that gives me sounds, loops etc. that I have little choice in but is rich enough that it’s a good starting point for my sampler process and my jam session. Are there synths like this that exist? I remember seeing the one button synth thing and I think that looks fun, just wondered if there was anything else.

dijksterhuis

i’ve been working on this and some other tools in a rust library crate for over a year now (on top of ot-tools-io). this was the big tool i wanted to get right so it’s taken a while.

this is the age old most requested “thing” in this forum. so i figured i’d share it ahead of sorting out the rest of the library.

should work with properly updated OS 1.40A/B/C projects (see this note about ensuring a project is completely updated).

TAKE A BACKUP BEFORE USING THIS

i’ve tested this on one of my favourite projects by copying each bank over like for like (A → A, B → B etc.) and it seems to have worked correctly – every sample seems to be there and playing/trigging correctly. at the very least everything is in a “yeah i think that sounds like it’s supposed to” state.

i can’t guarantee it is perfect though. so i accept no responsibility if this breaks your projects and you cannot recover your data. it is your responsibility to take appropriate backups. my suggestion would be to run this tool on a local copy first, i.e. not using it directly on projects located on your CF card. maybe even copy into projects in a completely new set to start with.

i also recommend you read this post thoroughly to understand exactly what to expect from this tool.

writes octatrack project files

copies sample files incl.
.ot
files [6]

[0]: recording buffer slots are not transferred in any way shape or form, even if you’re using them as extra flex slots

[1]: only the working copy of a part for a bank is transferred – i.e. the part data that’s actually live and changes when you twiddle with knobs. during the transfer parts are essentially force saved.

[2]: 128 slots / 16 banks = 8 slots each if distributing slot usage evenly. unfortunately, most of my banks use at least 12 samples (on average). free slots in a project fill up very quickly if there’s no deduplication. so that’s why the tool looks to re-use existing slots where possible.

[3]: slot matches are based on fields in the slot’s data excluding the slot id. so path, trim stretch, trig quantization, gain, bpm etc. i’ve assumed a slot path
myfilename.wav
in two projects is the same file. because it is usually true for me, and i built this tool primarily for me.

[4]: source project audio files ARE NOT CHECKED against the destination audio files. if you have multiple sample files across projects/sets etc which use the same name but are actually different sample files … this tool will cause breakage. name your sample files better? … see end of [6] for cases when this is likely to happen

[5]: things are split into “planning” and “comitting” stages because iterating over each source slot and copying files one-by-one etc can lead you to a point where you run out of slots, but you’ve already been copying sample files etc. i ran into this about 9 months ago and spent circa 3-6 months rewriting the whole library around this problem. massive PITA.

[6]: if the above shared file name case from [4] happens then the original file will be unrecoverable as it will have been written over. this should only happen it two specific cases (same name different file in two set audio pool directories, same name different file in two project directories)

Hey everyone,

I’m new here but looking for some track feedback on a tune I am working on. I am happy with the overall sound, but a bit lost on whether or not the track flows nicely, feels like it is evolving/doesn’t feel too loopy - especially from 1:10-1:40. Let me know your thoughts. Any general feedback welcome too.

Looking for opinions on Moogs. I have a Mother-32 and several VSTs of the Moog variety but want a bigger hands-on Moog as well as a proper “instrument” synth to get more into playing full sized keys. I have several synths already but they’re all modules or have mini keys (Digitone II, Hydrasynth Explorer, M32, Rev2 module, Reface DX, Minifreak, etc…). I want to expand my studio with a couple full sized keyboard synths and I’m leaning Moog to start with maybe a UDO Super 6 and D-50 to follow in the future.

I had a Sub 37 in a cart ready to purchase. I have played one and it feels and sounds great! I’d like to get more acquainted with writing better bass lines so it felt like the right choice but I’m also really interested in the Matriarch (or GM if it makes more sense to try that out first).

Basically just looking to try something new. Presets aren’t a huge deal. Honestly, not having presets is sort of a plus in my Matriarch column.

Thoughts from Moog-heads?

Hi, i’ve replaced my Octa buttons twice: I have a new pack of buttons from Elektron, and I’ve also bought this custom ones: https://www.etsy.com/es/listing/1798502348/teclasbotones-personalizados-trapdog?variation0=4866226208

But i’m still having some problems with some buttons, specially with the Scene B one, or with certain step numbers. If you press them in a certain way, with force they sometimes get stuck, specially if you move the button in certain direction while holding it pressed.

Anybody has any tip to fix this? Because i don’t think new buttons will do the trick. I’ve read a lot of threads but haven’t something useful. I’ve read in the past some people removing the front plate in order to “center” it, but i don’t have a clue on how to do that.

Hi Guys,

Id like to get a synth that is truly portable – ideally it would be opxy sized, but with much deeper synth engines – synthesizer that offers comprehensive sound design on device. I know about the microfreak, but my impression is that its a grab bag of minimally tweakable engines. The hydrasynth explorer seems closer, but i my impression of that is that its too big to travel with. Are there any other options? Id like to pair a bento with this imaginary synth.

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I just published a new video showing my hybrid Digitone II workflow with a modular system.

This is not a Digitone II demo, but rather a look at how I use it as the central hub for MIDI routing, clock distribution, sequencing external gear, and playing its own internal sounds at the same time.

It’s also the first time I’ve used a voice-over in one of my videos.
I’d be happy to answer any questions about the setup.

Have a nice day!

Ben and Nick from Audio.computer have been working hard developing a new prototype time-stretching ambient looper box, along side building and shipping the Beat Friend.

I had a long play with Machine #2 and I really enjoyed it. For a prototype it’s already really capable and stable. It works well for ambient soundscapes but I also had a play with some rhythmic stuff too.

As a Beat Friend owner, I’m quite excited to see how the “Machine #2” develops.

Hey! I’ve just created this little noisy gadget to explore the realms of noise and entropy. The thing is a non-idiomatic synth that tweaks basic waveform oscillators to create wild bursts of noise, unpredictable and sometimes uncontrollable. I just released a few units to fulfill the demand for chaos from the general public, tired of quietly adjusting filters, chord progressions and envelopes of all kinds. This thing sounds broken, looks broken and we like it that way.

AR kicks in 2026: still analog only or layered?

Hey!

Do you still use the Analog Rytm analog kick engines on their own for techno, or do you layer them with tools like Kick 3, Punchbox or samples?

I’ve been using the AR for years and love the character and punch of the analog engines. Recently I’ve started experimenting with Kick 3 and was surprised how much control it offers over pitch, attack and tuning.

I’m curious what your workflow looks like in 2026:

AR only?

AR + sample layer?

AR exported and further shaped in Kick 3?

Completely in-the-box these days?

Especially interested in techno and EBM workflows.

Thanks a lot!!!
