Deflect storm surges, create invisibility cloak..

Only in movies? Think again!

While the holy grail for researchers is to make objects and people invisible to the eye, there other applications — such as charging cellphones wireless, protecting buildings from seismic waves during an earthquake and even designing rooms to appear larger.

Warm Shower

2012-04-14T15:39:00.002-07:00

It's summer time in the Asia Pacific and the day was moderately hot at probably 31.5 °C. It was late in the evening and I decided to take a shower before going to bed. To my surprise and hoping that the water will be cold (because it has really been a hot summer day), the water from the shower was STILL WARM.

GLOBAL WARMING -- heat can't bounce off the planet (Earth) because of the huge amount of greenhouse gases (mostly from Carbon emissions) that even if it is already 2300 Hours (11 PM) the water in the pipeline is still warm.
We need to build more heat harvesting technologies (I don't know if there's such a thing in production) in order to transform heat into electricity. Not only that it (heat harvesting equipment) will reduce the budget we spend consuming petroleum, we also reduce the heat from the planet as well.

Ambulance Heist

2012-04-13T20:27:00.002-07:00

UNLIKELY? Not really. Criminals are into highjacking Ambulances nowadays. One incident happened two weeks-ago when hold-up men tried to intercept and fired upon an Ambulance loaded with cash -- the salaries of government employees who are too busy to visit the bank and have their salary checks en-cashed.

I am not aware of any new law that allows ambulance services to work under the supervision (and in service) of the Department of Finance or Human Resource Department aside from the Department of Health. If there's one, please let me know.

Why not use the Police Patrol Vehicles?

CODE NAME: Santa Barbara

Did you know that the Republic of the Philippines already had a Missile Defense Project way back 1970s?

The Filipinos were among the first Rocket Scientist in the Asia-Pacific and were successful in building one of the first Surface-to-Surface Missiles in the region known as Bong-bong.

Yes, The Filipino Can!

Scarborough Fair

2012-04-12T07:30:00.001-07:00

CHINESE POACHERS again and they are getting away with it -- again. If I can remember correctly last June 2011, we had the same problem with regards to these scumbags who are fond of Black Corals, Sea Turtles, and other Highly Endangered Species. No offense to the Chinese but only to those Chinese who are into the illegal stuff.

CAUGHT IN THE ACT, in Philippine Territory and yet it seems that the Philippine Navy or the Philippine Government is helpless protecting its natural resources and territorial rights. If I were the Captain of BRP Gregorio Del Pilar, I'll use the Mk.75 gun in order to protect the territory. Glad am not, I would have started World War III.

Don't we have anything to threaten these f*cking poachers with? How about borrowing a fleet from the US Navy or starting our very own Nuclear and Space Programs and do ICBM test a little more better to what the DPRK is doing?

So much for diplomacy and letting the this ugly ass bully plunder our own.

Damn you POACHERS.

Elementary School Politics

2012-04-11T19:12:00.001-07:00

The School is where future leaders are molded and trained. Where important values are learned and define to the young what is right or wrong. Where teachers act as second parent to its pupils -- our children.

We adults abhor those who cheat during elections for public office and are maddened by dirty politics. We are also disgusted by corrupt politicians and would often ask why they behave that way.

Allow me to tell you a story about what happened in an Elementary School Politics the present school-year...

In the school where my child is enrolled came a time when pupils have to elect officers for the school's Student Government.

Political parties were formed and pupils were chosen from different grade levels. A teacher was assigned to every political party to act as an adviser. Yours truly was surprised to discover that the student / pupil candidates were spending huge amount of money for tarpaulin banners, T-shirts, and all sorts of campaign materials encouraged by their teacher-advisers in order for the candidate(s) to win. I was also disgusted to know that these teacher-advisers, and other teachers too have their very own child or family relative ran for the elections. Worst, during the campaign period were the stories (from pupils) about teachers offering better grades (to pupils) in order for their favored candidate to win.

THIS IS SO WRONG! Imagine an institution like an Elementary School where pupils, our children have schmucks as second parents? Values like vote-buying, election fraud, making an enterprise out of the elections are learned in school. Corrupted while young, no wonder.

Whenever a public official becomes greedy and corrupt, blame it to those who molded and trained him/her well -- during Elementary days.

Let us not forget that:

"For the lessons of life there is no better teacher
Than the look in the eyes of a child"

So sad but true.
