I have no new performances or recording to report this month, but I DID climb to the summit of Mt. Shasta!

Next month, things should be picking up, and I’ll have more actual singing stuff to tell you about!

This month, I’ve sung on a feature film, “Step Brothers”, a video game, “Spyro”, and a short film, “Surviving Sid.” Each project was unique, and I was delighted to be a part of them.

The video game score was recorded at the same studio in Hollywood that I’d recorded a CD with the L.A. Jazz Choir in 1984, and I hadn’t been back since. They’d really remodeled and expanded it, so it was a treat to see.

My next scheduled live performance is on September 30, in Bishop, CA, in Beethoven’s Wig.

Meanwhile…. I guess I have some vacation time!

I have nothing new to report in the near future, but my trip to Canada and Virginia with Sixth Wave and Beethoven’s Wig was a wild and fun trip!

On June 6, Cindy Bourquin and I sing back up for Amy Engleheart of the Bobs for her CD release party at mbar in the Los Angeles area.

The weather and the wildflowers make April in Southern California idyllic, which makes up for the really hot summers.

Since my last post, I participated in recording some lovely choral music for the upcoming “Little Mermaid” DVD, and we completed the new Beethoven’s Wig CD. Beethoven’s Wig #4 features a melodrama, some dog training, and a demand for a diploma, among its other delights. Look for it soon on amazon.com!

I’m performing with Beethoven’s Wig at the Los Angeles Festival of Books at UCLA on April 26 at 11am, and then in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, on May 4, at the Lewis Family Playhouse at 1pm and 4pm.

Sixth Wave performs with mpact at the Jazz Bakery in Culver City, CA on May 11 at 4pm. We’ll be featuring many new songs from our CD-in-progress, and mpact will rock the house as ever.

Later in May, I have a fun, crazy trip, first to Ottawa to perform with Sixth Wave on the 14th, then to Morristown, NJ, and Charlottesville, VA for concerts with Beethoven’s Wig on the 15th and 16th.

I’ll then take a day off to visit nearby Monticello and Washington, D.C., which should all be gorgeous with spring flowers.

My session work has been slow this month, possibly due to the earlier writers’ strike. The lack flow of productions may have reached the post-production stage when the music is recorded. This could mean a happy pile up of sessions in a couple of months, though.

I did sing nice solos earlier this year on movies that will be out this spring: “Horton Hears a Who” and “Wanted”.

My next performance is with Beethoven’s Wig on April 5 in Artesia, NM, at the Ocotillo Performing Arts Center at 7:30pm.

We’ll be recording the 4th CD for Beethoven’s wig in April, then performing in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, on May 4, at the Lewis Family Playhouse at 1pm and 4pm.
