AN ATHEIST DELUSION

In the extremely misinformed, hellish book entitled “God Delusion,” the author Richard Dawkins, with his poison wrote –

“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.” (God Delusion. Chapter 2 p.31)

The author, devoid of human decency and filled with satanic blasphemy, charged the God of the Old Testament to be “the most unpleasant character in all fiction!” This stupid and false accusation against someone whom he does not believe to exist can be considered the height of insanity and delusion!

II THESSALONIANS 2:10-12

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 

It is not hard to see that to disgrace somebody who does not exist can only be caused by hallucinations of a person buried deep in delusion. 

PSALMS 53:1

The fool hath said in his heart,There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. 

To tag the God of the Old Testament worse than Dracula, Vampires, Zombies, Werewolves, Frankenstein, and the like, is the grandest form of lie that an author could invent in the history of fiction making! Apparently, Dawkins is on the side of these fiction characters, being their campaign manager!

ECCLESIASTES 7:29

Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions. 

Here are things we should consider:

1. The God of the Bible is Omnipotent

GENESIS 17:1

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

He desire perfection for humanity.

MATTHEW 5:48

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. 

Being perfect, an injunction to a believer, means to learn how to love and care for enemies.

MATTHEW 5:44-48

44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. 

2. The God of the Bible is jealous.

That the Lord may become jealous is a deterrent. Divine jealousy is caring for His beloved not to be persuaded by lies.

DEUTERONOMY 5:7-9

7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me.

8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:

9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me, 

II CORINTHIANS 11:2

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 

With the accusations of Dawkins against God, it will imply that even if he sees his wife flirting with another atheist, it will still be something morally acceptable to him! But God’s jealousy is kindled against any man that would intentionally worship false gods. It is falsehood. God wants to protect His people from idolatry.

THE ROMANS 1:25

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 

To frankly declare, “I am a jealous God” does not mean that He is proud of being jealous. He says exactly what He feels, treating His servants honestly with compassion and concern.

The thinking of Richard Dawkins against God is not a thing to marvel about. There are people who, according to the Bible, are walking with their head and thinking with their feet!

ISAIAH 5:20

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 

3. Richard Dawkins is “petty unjust,” and not the God of the Bible. 

To charge somebody who does not exist to be “petty unjust” is most certainly unjust! The God of the Bible is the executor of everything that is just.

JEREMIAH 9:24

But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. 

The highest standards of human justice are reflected in the Constitution of the United States of America! (The land of the free and the home of the brave). It is clear that the Bible is the basis of the justice system in the constitution of the United States. Here’s an excerpt from an article titled, “The Supreme Court vs. Faith and the Bible” (Ref: http://www.blowthetrumpet.org/CourtverseBible.htm ) –

In V. Watkins v. Torso, the United States Supreme Court ruled that Secular Humanism is a religion.

We now turn to the leaders of the world as written in Wake Up America! Almost all the presidents of the greatest nation on earth now, the United States of America, believed in the Bible. In contrast, we notice the noise of new atheists. The New Atheists are authors of early twenty-first century books promoting atheism. These authors include Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, and Christopher Hitchens, as named by the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy. These modern atheist writers advocate the view that “religion should not simply be tolerated but should be countered, criticized, and exposed by rational argument wherever its influence arises,” according to Simon Hooper (The rise of the ‘New Atheists,’ November 9, 2006 CNN.Com).

Hooper said the tone of these new atheists overtly confrontational rather than gently persuasive. In one of the interviews for CNN, Darwin is said to boast that atheists are like the gays; they only need to come out. When they do come out, the public can find that they are more numerous than believed. That is the kind of victory they see for themselves. But these pretentious intellectuals are no match to the great and intelligent men who shaped the USA as a nation!

Nature has laws, and laws did not create nature but the Creator of nature predetermined its laws.

THE ROMANS 11:24 (RSV)

For if you have been cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree.

Scientific knowledge nowadays, have realized the potential harm that can be caused by harsh human intervention in nature. Notice the emphasis of these products on non-GMO, for example.

The Institute for Responsible Technology (IRT) has been writing about the dangers of GMO foods. (Ref: http://www.responsibletechnology.org/gmo-dangers).GMO stands for genetically modified organism defined in the dictionary as “the result of a laboratory process where genes from the DNA of one species are extracted and artificially forced into the genes of an unrelated plant or animal. The foreign genes may come from bacteria, viruses, insects, animals or even humans.”

Are they safe?

The American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) doesn’t think so. The Academy reported that “Several animal studies indicate serious health risks associated with GM food,” including infertility, immune problems, accelerated aging, faulty insulin regulation, and changes in major organs and the gastrointestinal system. The AAEM asked physicians to advise patients to avoid GM foods.

Before the FDA decided to allow GMOs into food without labeling, FDA scientists had repeatedly warned that GM foods can create unpredictable, hard-to-detect side effects, including allergies, toxins, new diseases, and nutritional problems. They urged long-term safety studies, but were ignored.

The report said some of the findings of the AAEM include: (1)Thousands of sheep, buffalo, and goats in India died after grazing on Bt cotton plants; (2) Mice eating GM corn for the long term had fewer, and smaller, babies; (3) More than half the babies of mother rats fed GM soy died within three weeks, and were smaller;

-(4)Testicle cells of mice and rats on a GM soy change significantly; (5) By the third generation, most GM soy-fed hamsters lost the ability to have babies;(6) Rodents fed GM corn and soy showed immune system responses and signs of toxicity; (7) Cooked GM soy contains as much as 7-times the amount of a known soy allergen;

-(8)Soy allergies skyrocketed by 50% in the UK, soon after GM soy was introduced; (9)The stomach lining of rats fed GM potatoes showed excessive cell growth, a condition that may lead to cancer. Studies showed organ lesions, altered liver and pancreas cells, changed enzyme levels, etc.

As seen in the report, interventions in the studies involved Bt cotton plants, corn, soy, and potatoes. The report further said –

Unlike safety evaluations for drugs, there are no human clinical trials of GM foods. The only published human feeding experiment revealed that the genetic material inserted into GM soy transfers into bacteria living inside our intestines and continues to function. This means that long after we stop eating GM foods, we may still have their GM proteins produced continuously inside us.

Implications for interventions point to super diseases, but that is not all. The point is that such diseases are not within easy control of man. Studies hypothesize on GM corn, for example, and lay down the problem: turning intestinal bacteria into living pesticide factories. Here is the last part of the report –

If the antibiotic gene inserted into most GM crops were to transfer, it could create super diseases, resistant to antibiotics. If the gene that creates Bt-toxin in GM corn were to transfer, it might turn our intestinal bacteria into living pesticide factories. Although no studies have evaluated if antibiotic or Bt-toxin genes transfer, that is one of the key problems. The safety assessments are too superficial to even identify most of the potential dangers from GMOs.

What does the Bible say?

LEVITICUS 19:19

Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle engender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woolen come upon thee. 

The injunction is not to mix! And when there is an injunction, there is a purpose – to the best of man.

Nature is governed by laws but nature has not the capacity to formulate the law of nature. How can something that will exist, before its existence determine the law it will follow during its existence? Someone superior in knowledge and strength, someone above nature, a supernatural, called in the Bible “God,” ordained the laws of nature.

Obviously, the interdependence of living creatures upon each other is formulated by a Designer. It is absurd to think or hypothesize, for example, that evolution or natural selection formulated the symbiotic benefits being derived by humans from the billions of bacteria that thrive within human alimentary canal! It is purposed by the Designer of life. No way could it be otherwise.

My eyes are located in a place where they can be most efficient to serve their purpose: to see. It was placed by the Intelligent Designer at the front because the most convenient way of mobility is to look forward where you are heading to. And if you want to see what is at the back, you can simply turn around easily, or you can use a mirror or a camera! How awkward it would be if the eyes of an atheist were placed at the back of his head. That’s laughable but it’s a possibility – without an Intelligent Designer!

PSALMS 94:9

He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

Even the foolish godless Charles Darwin admits that it is absurd to think that the complexity of the functions of the human eye could have been formed by natural selection! (Ref: Charles Darwin, “On the Origin of Species, Chapter 6 – Difficulties on Theory, p.80)

ORGANS OF EXTREME PERFECTION AND COMPLICATION.

To suppose that the eye, with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest possible degree.

Mathematical exactness cannot be determined by mutation and evolution. Mutation, as science knows it, is a kind of accidental mishap. How can it be logically and scientifically possible that the billion cells in the human body have exactly 46 chromosomes each – if there is no designer? Take note that with the exception of the sperm cell of a male person having only 23 chromosomes and the egg cell of a female person also having the same number, the combinations are necessary to make up 46 chromosomes that will start a new cell life – an exact one half coming from the father and an exact one half coming from the mate, having the exact number, and exact codes of information to pass on character traits to the offspring.

Some warm little pond, natural selection, survival of the fittest elimination of the unfit, or the whole idea of evolution cannot put all these things together with mathematical preciseness! The following are excerpts from LiveScience.com (Ref: http://www.livescience.com/474-controversy-evolution-works.html) –

In the first edition of “The Origin of Species” in 1859, Charles Darwin speculated about how natural selection could cause a land mammal to turn into a whale. As a hypothetical example, Darwin used North American black bears, which were known to catch insects by swimming in the water with their mouths open:

“I can see no difficulty in a race of bears being rendered, by natural selection, more aquatic in their structure and habits, with larger and larger mouths, till a creature was produced as monstrous as a whale,” he speculated.

The idea didn’t go over very well with the public. Darwin was so embarrassed by the ridicule he received that the swimming-bear passage was removed from later editions of the book.

Here is that part from Darwin –

Random mutations resulted in at least one whale having its nostrils placed farther back on its head. Those animals with this adaptation would have been better suited to a marine lifestyle, since they would not have had to completely surface to breathe. Such animals would have been more successful and had more offspring. In later generations, more mutations occurred, moving the nose farther back on the head.

Other body parts of early whales also changed. Front legs became flippers. Back legs disappeared. Their bodies became more streamlined and they developed tail flukes to better propel themselves through water.

The term random mutation is unacceptable to a real scientific mind! At the same time it is squarely unbiblical!

ECCLESIASTES 3:14

I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

Scientifically, all living things have DNA and genes – unknown to Darwin – that protect and preserve a definite species! God meant living things to produce its kind perpetually.

GENESIS 1:21-22

21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

The phrases “after his kind,” and “after their kind,” means a definite species for every living thing. Findings in the Cambrian explosion prove this account in the Bible that most species existed simultaneously at the same time and not through natural selection. This denies the foolish idea of evolution. Notice the following in Darwin’s writings –

“If numerous species, belonging to the same genera or families, have really started into life all at once, the fact would be fatal to the theory to descent with slow modification though natural selection.” (Ref: Charles R. Darwin, ”The Origin of Species: The Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life’ A Facsimile of the First Edition, Harvard University Press, 1964, p. 302).

“To the question why we do not find rich fossiliferous deposits belonging to these assumed earliest periods prior to the Cambrian system, I can give no satisfactory answer. …Nevertheless, the difficulty of assigning any good reason for the absence of vast piles of strata rich in fossils beneath the Cambrian is very great… The case at present must remain inexplicable; and may be truly urged as a valid argument against the views here entertained.” (Ref: Charles Darwin, The Origin of Species By Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of the Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life, 1872, pp. 316-317) – 

While it is true that mutation happens among living things, random mutation is likely impossible in the vast periods of time that have passed. The perpetuation of a particular species is dictated and preserved in the DNA. So pollution, radiation, and harmful chemicals that may cause mutations are not as common and extant in the distant past when allegedly evolution started as it is nowadays! More so, random mutation! Hence, 23 plus 23 equals 46 cannot be a formula determined by random mutation. I must emphasize that even the godless Darwin said that “It is absurd to think that the human eye is formed by natural selection!” Darwin is much, much, much, much, much better in thinking than atheists of today!

The condition recorded in the Bible after creation is: Situation is very good!

GENESIS 1:31

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

There were no harmful man-made chemicals, no intermittent radiation in the environment caused by man’s invention such as microwaves, cellular phones, electrical appliances, etcetera, which can be possible causes of random mutation, why? Because the situation is very good!

GENESIS 1:16-19

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

The doubt that we have to solve is how vegetation could exist when the sun was made to bring light unto the earth only on the fourth day.

It is scientific knowledge that vegetation can exist for some time without the light of the sun upon which plants depend to produce their food by the process of photosynthesis. We must remember that it was on the third day of creation that God caused the appearing of dry land from the globe of waters, after which He caused vegetation to appear.

GENESIS 1:9-13

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

From these accounts, we understand that two great parts of creation happened on the third day: the appearing of the ground or the dry land, afterwards the appearing of vegetation. This is wonderfully scientific considering that the book of Genesis was written less than four thousand years ago, when people could hardly understand that vegetation is necessary to hold soil on its place and to prevent erosion! But the doubt is focused on this: why was the sun necessary for plant life made only the following day which is the fourth day?

As I mentioned earlier, there are plants that can exist for some time even without sunlight.

The possibility is that since vegetation and plant life were created at the end of the third day (of Creation), the sun was made to shine immediately at the start of the fourth day (Day 1 for Earth). This solves the scientific problem involved!

While it is true that the bud of a seed that grows tend to the direction of light, it is also true that the budding process can start without light. A seed planted below the surface of the soil where there is no light will grow.

REVISED STANDARD VERSION

I CORINTHIANS 15:36-38

36 You foolish man! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies.

37 And what you sow is not the body which is to be, but a bare kernel, perhaps of wheat or of some other grain.

38 But God gives it a body as he has chosen, and to each kind of seed its own body. 

This will clearly erase the doubt in the mind of one who understands the truth in the Bible and in science, but certainly will be questioned by scoffers!

We must also consider that when God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass,” he did not say “Let the dry land bring forth grass.” When God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass,” he meant the ground in dry land and the ground under the sea to bring forth plant life. It is worthwhile mentioning that “grass” – the plant life in the depths of the sea sustain most of marine creatures.

Back to Creation, at the dawn of the fifth day God said:

GENESIS 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

This is a very scientific chronology of the account of creation in Genesis! After plant life was caused by God to exist at the dusk of the third day and the sun to give light unto the earth immediately at the dawn of the fourth day, marine creatures were brought forth at the dusk of the fifth day! What a wonderful scientific narration, not found in any other book on earth! Here’s an excerpt describing the Earth before as “barren landscape” quoting researchers from Pennsylvania State University:

The earliest evidence of land plants and fungi appears in the fossil record around 480 million years ago. Before that, the Earth’s landscape was believed to consist of barren rocks, home to bacteria and possibly some algae. But some have argued that it is quite possible for land-dwelling plants and fungi to have been around much earlier, but their primitive bodies were too soft to be preserved as fossils in rock. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/1482382.stm).

Science affirms – as do atheists guess – that marine life existed before land life. Richard Dawkins wrote that, being land-oriented now, one day he will go back to the sea. Dawkins is a British evolutionary biologist.

I MUST GO DOWN TO THE SEA AGAIN

The move from water to land launched a major redesign of every aspect of life, from breathing to reproduction: it was a great trek through biological space. Nevertheless, with what seems almost wanton perversity, a good number of thoroughgoing land animals later turned around, abandoned their hard-earned terrestrial retooling, and trooped back into the water again. Seals and sea lions have only gone part-way back. (The Greatest Show on Earth by Richard Dawkins, Page 80).

THE START OF HUMAN LIFE

Note that marine life were brought forth first then land life.

GENESIS 1:24-25

24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 

Animals like cattle and creeping things were made by God at the dawn of the sixth day of creation and humans towards the end of the sixth day. (Creeping things are on dry land, not in the sea). This allows millions of years of animal existence before mankind. This also solves doubt about the existence of dinosaurs millions of years before mankind! A day in creation is not a 24-hour day as other Bible apologists claim!

ISAIAH 66:8

Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

The earth was not brought forth in one (1) earth-day! The First to the Fourth day of Creation happened before the sun was made to shine in the dome of the sky to light the earth, determining how an earth-day is made!

ECCLESIASTES 8:17

Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labor to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it. 

As defined in the dictionary, human science is the study and interpretation of the experiences, activities, constructs, and artefacts associated with human beings. Normally used with the Letter “s,” the human sciences correspond to humanities and social sciences, but also include aspects of psychology and even mathematics.

Discussions by Michael Dunn in The Human Sciences (2013), theoryofknowedge.net said many people do not consider human sciences as true science because they rely on empirical observation to arrive at findings. In contrast, the natural sciences, which are much ‘stricter’ in their use of observation, are backed up by rational theorizing. Still they are just theories. And yet man resorts to either in trying to understand the universe.

Therefore, human sciences as well as natural sciences endeavoring at their best, lack explanation in so many things that actually happen and exist. In faith and in the Bible such unexplained thing is called mystery. This progress report, for example, by Adam Hadhazy published in Popular Mechanics is about unsolved mysteries of science.

The questions include: 1) Will we find a cure for cancer? 2) Can we achieve immortality? 3) Can we create life? 4) Will we find the soul? 5) Are we alone? 6) Is light the ultimate speed limit? 7) Can we travel through time? And 8) Will we find other universes?

To qualify, not everything in the Bible is considered a mystery. The Bible contains information worded in simple words understandable even by the most illiterate of humans. Honor and obey a father and a mother can be understood even by a child.

EPHESIANS 6:1-2

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

2 Honor thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; 

To do good to everybody can easily be understood by a person of good conscience.

GALATIANS 6:10

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

But how about having light, morning and evening the first day when the sun and the moon were made on the fourth day? Can’t this be possible scientifically speaking? Let us investigate within the pages of the “book” that offers humanity the only credible and real scientific information on how the universe came into existence!

GENESIS 1:1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 

In this verse, the only refuted word by unbelievers, especially the atheists, is “God”. Real science believes in beginnings. Real science believes that there is an earth, a planet. Real science believes in the expanse that envelopes the earth and other heavenly bodies they call “space” which the Bible calls “heavens”.

GENESIS 1:7-8

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

To a person well-versed on the manner of how the Bible was written, the first verse which says “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” is easily understood as the heavens created ahead of the creation of the earth. (The Bible speaks of first things first.) This will give us the implication that the heavens or the universe in its entirety should be older than the earth and this is amazingly scientific! To prove this idea let us read verse 2.

GENESIS 1:2

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

While verse 1 contains the information that the heavens and the earth were created, we may notice that on verse 2, only the earth was mentioned to be formless and void, meaning that the heavens were already formed at the time that the earth was without form and void. No known and accepted knowledge in science refutes this Biblical truth: that the earth is much younger than the universe that contains it.

Most scientists believe that the universe can be as old as 13 billion years while the earth is 4 to 4.5 billion years old. But why can’t billions of years possibly be the age of the universe when most religious apologists say that the earth is only 6,000 years old?

The most misunderstood portion of the account of creation is that the heavens and the earth were created in six days, and for most of them were literal six 24-hour days, which is wrong!

The counting of the “first day” must be noted to have commenced after the creation of the heavens and the earth when light started to appear.

GENESIS 1:3-5

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

The pronouncement, “Let there be light” does not mean that the existence of light-emitting heavenly bodies like stars and nebulae will only begin at that time. Remember that the heavens was created and formed already in verse 1.

From logic, what is possible is that the process of nuclear fission in stars and other heavenly light-emitting bodies started at the time when God said “Let there be light.” This is very much like when the starter of the fluorescent lamp is activated!

One important thing to consider is (in my mind but not in every mind), that the first day mentioned, is the first day after the creation of the heavens and the earth and not the first day on the planet earth! There are days in heaven which are very much different from days on earth.

DEUTERONOMY 11:21

That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD swore unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth. 

This explains the fact that only on the fourth day God caused the existence of two great lights to light and to rule upon the earth, (Note that on earth only) because scientifically speaking, our lights – the sun, and the moon – are very insignificant in relation to the entire universe!

GENESIS 1:14-16

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

To understand the scientificity of the account in Genesis we must take note of the use of the word “made two great lights”.

The word bârâ’ (baw-raw), create, was used in verse 1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” while the word ‛âśâh (aw-saw), to make, was used in verse 16, “And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.”

“To create” is to make something exist while “to make” is to produce something from something that already exists. It is not only logical but scientific to say that “God made two great lights” which biblically and scientifically means that the sun and the moon were already in existence before God caused the sun to emit light and the moon to reflect on earth.

The report written by David Edwards for Raw Story was titled, “Stephen Hawking comes out: ‘I’m an atheist’ because science is ‘more convincing’ than God.”

According to NBC News, Hawking made the comments to the Spanish-language paper El Mundo during the Starmus Festival at Tenerife in the Canary Islands. El Mundo’s Pablo Jauregui pointed out that Hawking had written in his book “A Brief History of Time” that scientists could “know the mind of God” if a unifying set of principles – or theory of everything – was discovered to explain the physical universe. But Hawking later wrote in “The Grand Design” that God was no longer necessary because science had provided a better understanding of the universe.

The world-famous theoretical physicist cleaved more to cosmology to explain the physical origins and evolution of the Universe. Hawking reportedly said:

“What I meant by ‘we would know the mind of God’ is, we would know everything that God would know, if there were a God, which there isn’t,” he added. “I’m an atheist.” (Ref: http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/09/stephen-hawking-comes-out-im-an-atheist-because-science-is-more-convincing-than-god/)

The belief that there is a Creator came from the Bible written a little less than four thousand years ago, and then accepted, believed, preserved, shared, translated into almost all existing tongues and have gotten the reputation as “the best seller book of all time.”

In contrast, the belief in the Big Bang, Evolution, Natural Selection and The Origin of Species, was just formulated barely 200 years ago! The latter belief intends to belie the existence of the Creator, the Bible calls God. To disprove what the Bible says, believers of the Big Bang and Evolution like atheists argue that there are unscientific things in the Bible. For example, having morning and evening on the first day when the sun, the moon and the stars were made only on the fourth day. Another is the existence of vegetation in the absence of the sun. And many more similar examples.

As mentioned in an earlier discussion, we have to consider possibilities and impossibilities to arrive at a just and fair conclusion on any refuted matter. Isn’t it possible that the universe and all existing things came into being because of a Creator? The possibility is 100%! Nobody in our time will believe that the NASA Space Station came into being because of an accident. The construction, the design, and the transport of all those materials that made up the NASA Space Station that now orbits the earth at an altitude of 173 miles above the earth with an average ground speed of 17, 227 miles per hour to complete almost 16 orbits per day, entailed a lot of creators.

The Space Station involves mathematical precision in its transport from the Earth to escape the gravitational pull and to stay in its own orbit above the earth! If such a minute thing required creators, isn’t it possible that the universe with all of its complexities and intricacies in its law and order also came from a Creator – an intelligent being with a purpose in mind yet? The possibility is 100%! What is marvellous is that, that knowledge was written in the Bible almost four thousand years ago even before man has discovered of the universe vastness!

THE ACTS 17:24-26

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

25 Neither is worshiped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

The preceding verses tell us that God is the Creator of the universe. The word translated “world” is cosmos in Greek. Something in these verses is worthwhile considering. “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;”

The verses incorporate a Creator, a purpose, a time, a boundary. The truth in this information written millennia ago still stands unrefuted today by human science and knowledge! The earth in the entire universe is the only destined habitation with boundaries, for humans. Beyond the boundaries set by God no human can exist! Shall we consider at this juncture possibilities and impossibilities? Let us see:

Is it possible that there is life beyond earth – a planet made like earth with life in it? Joel Achenbach wrote that with instruments such as the Hubble Space Telescope scientists discovered a huge amount of cosmic turf but came to know of only a single inhabited world – the unique earth of the human beings.

Since 1995 astronomers have detected at least 22 planets orbiting other stars. NASA hopes to build a telescope called the Terrestrial Planet Finder to search for Earth-like planets, examining them for the atmospheric signatures of a living world….

We all have our suppositions, our scenarios. The late astronomer Carl Sagan estimated that there are a million technological civilizations in our galaxy alone. His more conservative colleague Frank Drake offers the number 10,000. John Oro, a pioneering comet researcher, calculates that the Milky Way is sprinkled with a hundred civilizations. And finally there are skeptics like Ben Zuckerman, an astronomer at UCLA, who thinks we may as well be alone in this galaxy if not in the universe. The National Geographic report further mentioned that all the estimates “are highly speculative, and the fact is that there is no conclusive evidence of any life beyond Earth. There is still no solid knowledge about a single alien microbe, a solitary spore, much less the hubcap from a passing alien starship.”

Back to the Space Station, as it is impossible to be orbiting the earth without any creator, the grandest impossibility is for the universe to be operating marvellously and in order without a Creator!

JEREMIAH 33:25

25 Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth; …

The laws that govern the strict and mathematical order in the universe, written in the Bible long before man have understood and discovered it, implies that the Bible carries in it scientific information which are impossible for men at the time of its writing to know. The Creator who understands and who ordained such laws is the only possible source of such information.

To take exception to Hawking, if God cannot explain the universe where science is better at doing it, it will be impossible for the writers of the Bible to advance or even guess the precise scientific truth that modern science have understood nowadays.

ISAIAH 46:9-10

9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

God’s intention is apparently and logically clear: For man to believe that He exists!

JOHN 13:19

Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.

The Bible even predicted precisely the existence of Stephen Hawking and his fans club!

II PETER 3:3-5

3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

Scoffers do not believe in God. The modern term for scoffers is ATHEISTS! The writer of this book, Peter, the Apostle, is an illiterate man.

THE ACTS 4:13

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

The illiterate Peter knew that the earth was formed out of water and by means of water – just with God’s bidding. But let us look into how astrophysicists like Stephen Hawking look at the creation of planets like Earth. This one is from the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) of the University of Colorado at Boulder.

TERRESTRIAL PLANET FORMATION

Gasses condensed into rocky particles → Rocky particles begins to clump → These clumps accrete more → Clumps from planetesimals → Planetesimals accrete more →Terrestrial planets formed

Hydrogen compounds, such as water and methane, typically condense at low temperatures, and remain gaseous inside the frost line where temperatures are higher. The heavier rocky and metallic materials are better suited to condense at higher temperatures. Thus, the inner planets are made almost entirely of rock and metal and form the group known as the terrestrial planets.

How did the terrestrial planets form?

After the heavier elements and minerals condensed into solid bits of rock, they all orbited the Sun at about the same speed. As you can imagine, collisions of objects moving at the same speed are less destructive than those of objects moving at different speeds. Thus, when rocks orbiting the Sun move close to one another, they stick together more often than they destroy each other. These pieces gradually grow larger in a process called accretion. Once they are large enough, gravity forces them into spherical shapes.

The excerpts just given speak of gasses and solids – simply moving among themselves in time and space to form, accrete, reform – all devoid of purpose. And yet out of chaos something beautiful is formed?

We must not forget that water came from gas – hydrogen and oxygen – which are things unseen and jive with the Biblical truth that things that are seen were made from things unseen.

HEBREWS 11:3

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Meaning that things which are seen were made from things that are not seen, like gases! The Bible teaches us wonderful knowledge in science even before the birth of Stephen Hawking.

Hawking is a British scientist, who, according to Maria Cheng of the Associated Press, first gained attention with his 1988 book “A Brief History of Time,” a simplified overview of the universe. It sold more than 10 million copies worldwide. His subsequent theories have revolutionized modern understanding of concepts like black holes and the Big Bang theory of how the universe began. Unfortunately, for all his intellect, Hawking felt no presence of a Creator who let him live comfortably and long despite his disabilities. He vilified God as incapable of explaining the origin and nature of the universe that he tried so hard to explain with physics sans a creator. He worshipped Science more. But then there would be many more Hawkings in many forms.

The book of Hebrews was written some time in 61 AD, an era wherein no humans understood the composition of gases and the possibility of producing things which are seen from the unseen gases. Yet the people were described to be perfectly peaceful, calm, restful, undisturbed by circumstances and so were powerful, effective, accomplishing things. They found hope, joy and patience in the face of tribulations. They believed in a creator that made things possible for them. Whatever they could not explain, they trusted in their creator.

Hawking is said to be the most famous scientist alive today. His 2001 book “The Universe in a Nutshell” is hailed as a masterpiece in the history of modern physics. At 72, he thinks little of his humanity.

Explaining the universe sans a creator is new knowledge that came only 200 years ago. Isn’t it possible that the minds so oriented to a creator-less creation are being influenced by the same force that said in the Garden of Eden, “You won’t die when you eat this fruit”?

It is possible to ignore the existence of a creator but it is impossible to obliterate that existence, even if one believes in such non-existence. It is upon the existence of a creator that we can even think of possibilities of how the world was created.

It is possible that a cause can cause an effect but it is impossible that the cause is nothingness for in nothingness, the ability to think cannot develop or exist.

It is possible for the seen to cause another seen to exist, but penultimately, the seen is caused by an unseen, a being of higher level than the one caused.

It is possible that atheists may fool people with their so-called masterpiece knowledge but it is impossible for such knowledge to take the place of truth.

It is possible that the Father of Lies is at work with people’s minds, and those he would seduce are those who preferred to be rich and famous – with lies, but it is impossible that one’s heart does not lust for the power and fame that comes with it.

The Holy Bible, as a book written many millennia before our time, is a book that teaches us possibilities and impossibilities. A reckless reader may at once judge ignorantly that the Bible is unscientific, full of errors, fictitious, and unacceptable to the scientific mind!

There are things written in the Bible that at first glance may appear to be non-sense to one but intriguing to others. Having an evening and morning on “the first day” of creation, for example, while the sun and the moon were yet to be made on the fourth day is very easily dismissed by the enemies of the Bible as something stupid and unscientific!

GENESIS 1:3-5

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

In the aforementioned verses, there isn’t any problem, but on Verse 14 of the same chapter, the Bible says –

GENESIS 1:14

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. 

The common question that comes from common understanding of people reading these verses is this: How can there be an evening and morning on the first day when the sun, the moon and the stars were made only on the fourth day?

And thus, a prejudicial judgment is rendered upon the one and only book on this planet that describes the origin of its existence and the teeming multitude of life in it!

Possibilities and impossibilities – incidental, scientific facts, (discovered and yet to be discovered) must be collectively considered in order to pass on a fair and equitable judgment upon the Bible before concluding that it is unscientific or not. Possibilities must be considered in harmony with past, present, and expected possibilities in the future, in the same manner that impossibilities – past, present and future – can be used as tools in analyzing the recorded stories, histories and beliefs written in the Bible.

Some possibilities recorded in the Bible include :

• The appearing of dry land from a globe of waters.
• The appearance of light from utter darkness.
• The existence of vegetation in the absence of the sun.
• The putting of lights in the firmament to light upon the earth on the fourth day of creation.
• The earth bringing forth vegetation and animal life.
• The waters bringing forth aquatic life and fowls of the air.
• The creation of man from the dust of the earth.
• Man living an age for almost a thousand like Methuselah.
• Producing a living being with the same materials from the host.
• Grafting a branch of a plant with the same species, and many more…

Meanwhile, some impossibilities are :

• For God to lie.
• To produce humans from animals.
• To produce another specie from a given one.
• For the universe to be ever expanding.
• For the universe to start from a bang.
• For the light to have communion with darkness.
• For the universe not to be in perfect order.

All of these are time-bound and foreordained. In the first, it means things came to be on account of time. In the second, it means someone decreed them to be so – and unalterably so. Let us go to judging – as it is connected to judging the Bible, or judging truth.

Open-mindedness is a must for a judge. A wise judgment considers possibilities and impossibilities and even sometimes instincts in humans.

A very famous judgment rendered in the Bible is when Solomon commanded that a child be cut into halves when two supposed mothers were claiming the same child.

I KINGS 3:16-27

16 Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.

17 And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.

18 And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.

19 And this woman’s child died in the night; because she overlaid it.

20 And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.

21 And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear.

22 And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spoke before the king.

23 Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living.

24 And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.

25 And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.

26 Then spoke the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.

27 Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof.

In the preceding verses the king considered possibilities and impossibilities before rendering judgment. The possibilities were: 1) Either of the women is the mother; 2) One is telling the truth and the other is telling a lie; 3) Both of them love the child; 4) One loves the child and the other does not. 5) One of them is involved in the exchange of babies. And other possibilities.

Considering the period wherein they lived, the impossibilities were: 1) DNA test; it was not possible. 2) CCTV cameras to review who really overlaid the child; they did not exist before; 3) Witnesses to the incident; no one saw the culprit; and 4) Two mothers: the child can only belong to one.

But the wise king harnessed maternal instincts to know the truth and to render absolute judgment. In the absence of evidence and witnesses, the king utilized the God-given instinct of a mother to her own flesh: she would not have her child be sawn in half.

Let us journey back in time and consider past possibilities and impossibilities, as well as consider future possibilities and probabilities after which we can conclude if really the Bible is fictitious, a fairy tale, a book written by stupid people, or the most exact scientific book of all times. Here is the assurance of the God of the Bible who cannot lie.

ISAIAH 46:9-10

9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: 

TITUS 1:2

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; 

HEBREWS 6:18

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us…”

II PETER 1:5-8

5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Why? Because most of them that believe have not added to their faith the virtues the Apostle Peter mentioned, and worse is that they are blind.

II PETER 1:9

But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Somebody in the first century of our Common Era was blessed to have understood who really Christ was.

MATTHEW 16:13-17

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.

15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Notice the pronoun “it” used by the Lord Jesus Christ, referring to what Peter said, “Thou art Christ the Son of the living God”.  “It” is the information that was revealed to Simon Peter.

The word Son was never used by the Father unto any other living being nor unto one of the angels – but only to Christ.

HEBREWS 1:5; 13-14

For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

There was no angel ever at any time who was a recipient of the glory to be called by God His Son unto whom He said also “sit on my right hand.”

Considering the few verses mentioned above, it is safe to conclude that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is neither an angel nor an archangel because no angel ever was a recipient of that glorious title or name “Son of God.” Incidentally, some may claim that he or someone is an archangel.

An archangel is an angel! The word archangel speaks of the being and the position which literally means chief angel – in like manner that a Chief of Police must be a police to become chief.

If the Lord Jesus Christ is not an angel but the begotten Son of God coming from the bosom or the very being of the Father, then He is not Michael, the archangel! He is God, called in the Greek manuscripts as monogenes theos or begotten God.

theon oudeis eōraken pōpote monogenēs theos o ōn eis ton kolpon tou patros ekeinos exēgēsato (emphasis ours)

This verse in the Greek scriptures was faithfully rendered in many English translations of the Bible like the Amplified Bible, the Emphasized Bible, the Etheridge Translation, the Murdock Translation, and the New American Standard Bible.

JOHN 1:18 (MURDOCK TRANSLATION)

No man hath ever seen God; the only begotten God, he who is in the bosom of his Father, he hath declared [him].

How can – in God’s justice – be that the only begotten God be demoted to just an archangel?! Was that the Father’s wish? It is God’s will that His son be above everything.

COLOSSIANS 1:18-19

18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell;

One solid proof of the lies being propagated by the Jehovah’s Witnesses (I call them false witnesses) is their supposed scholarly translation of their Bible which in John 1:18 says that:

JOHN 1:18 (NEW WORLD TRANSLATION )

No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is in the bosom [position] with the Father is the one that has explained him.

However much they wanted to equate Christ and Michael as same being; the only begotten Son of God will never be an angel or an archangel like Michael! There is no escape whatsoever for the Jehovah’s Witnesses or their forebears for any cover up of their invented doctrines! The true God of the Bible does not even put His trust on angels.

JOB 4:18

Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly:

But God fully trusts the Lord Jesus Christ, His begotten Son, and have entrusted in Him all powers in heaven and on earth.

MATTHEW 28:18

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

If we will conclude and stop at this juncture, the words of God cited in all the verses mentioned above is sufficient to prove our stand that Jesus Christ is not archangel Michael. But that is not the way your humble servant treats the lies of blatant liars! Let us continue.

In their article about Michael, the Archangel, the Jehovah’s Witnesses recklessly concluded that in Daniel 12:1 a Son of God is mentioned!

In “Your Will Be Done On Earth” page 311 by Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society of Pennsylvania, it is written –

This is shamelessness! To say that in Daniel 12:1 a son of God is mentioned is a lie with no parallel!

DANIEL 12:1

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Read this verse again and again for a hundred times, and you will not see a phrase “son of God” mentioned.

Yet in another portion of the article, they say that when “Michael shall stand” in the last days, it means to reign as king.

They even cited other verses using the word “stand” to prove that it means to reign as a king. Consider this item from their WatchTower Bible & Tract Society of Pennsylvania, “Your Will Be Done On Earth” page 311 –

If this allegation is true, will it mean that the Lord Jesus Christ is not currently the reigning King of kings and Lord of lords, just because in the last days when the great tribulation will come he will stand as Michael, the archangel? The fact is that Christ does not need to stand to be a king, simply because he was born a king!

MATTHEW 2:1-2

1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Christ was killed as a king!

JOHN 19:19-22

19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

20 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.

21 Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The king of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.

22 Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

It was God’s spirit that made Pilate to stand firm on what he had ordered to be written on the cross “King of the Jews” – for really Christ was King of the Jews! He will reign as king in the millennium after the resurrection.

REVELATION 20:4

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

REVELATION 19:13, 16

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

He is king at birth, a king when he died, will come back as a king, and will reign as a king for a thousand years after the last day.

He need not be Michael, the Archangel and to stand in the last days to be a king!

Will it mean that when Ananias said to Saul, “stand and be baptized,” he is asking him to reign as a king?

THE ACTS 22:16

And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

When the Apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesians to stand up from the dead, does it mean that he is telling the Ephesians to reign as kings?

EPHESIANS 5:14

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

Knowing the real Jesus Christ requires going beyond. It requires adhering to truth rather than patronizing and covering up for one’s erring leader. A failed prophecy does not turn Jesus Christ into Michael the Archangel, no matter how verses are being misinterpreted.

So now, who could the Jehovah’s Witnesses be witnessing for? You got to check first those pack of lies you inherited from others.

Failed Prophesy Cover-up: Why Christ is being called “Michael”

That Jesus Christ is insistently being identified as Michael, the Archangel is to cover up for failed prophecy. That’s the motive found by researchers when followers would rather back up their erring leader than seek for truth. This has been the case with the Sabbath Day Adventists as well as the Jehovah’s Witnesses. 

One of the false doctrines of the Jehovah’s Witnesses (JW) is that Jesus Christ was actually Michael the archangel; that Christ resumed the name Michael when He ascended to heaven (Your Will Be Done On Earth, p.316-7; New Heavens and a New Earth, p.30). Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society of Pennsylvania wrote on page 316 –

Charles Taze Russell is the founder of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and a former President of the Society. But we take note that according to history, Charles Taze Russell, who formerly studied with the early Sabbath Day Adventist group and later started the Jehovah’s Witness group, adopted this heresy of denying the deity of Christ from Ellen G. E. G. White of the SDA prophesied that the world would end in 1843, 1844, 1845 and 1851: “Now time is almost finished, (1851) and what we have been 6 years in learning they will have to learn in months.” (Early Writings p. 57).

Researcher Brian O’Connell of Crossbearer.net said that E.G. White taught The Seventh Day Adventists who try so hard to prove that Jesus is Michael the Archangel.  This heresy, he wrote, was promoted by E.G. White of the SDA church, and was adopted by the Jehovah’s Witnesses.The Jehovah’s Witnesses, in turn, have carried on with the wrong teachings of E.G. White through Charles Taze Russell who studied with the former.

O’Connell noted too that in many, many instances, the Clear Word Bible (CWB) of the SDA were found to have insertions to make them appear right. Whereas Jesus Christ is now King of Kings and Lord of Lords, they make him appear as Michael, “one of the princes,” therefore a lowering of Christ’s true stature.

O’Connell claims the SDA has re-written the Scriptures with an evil motive: to cover for the failed prophesy of Ellen G. White, their supposed prophet. Here’s what he wrote –

To solidify their heresy, the SDA group has re-written the Scriptures to conform to this false doctrine. In the SDA Clear Word Bible CWB (1994), the translators add E.G. White’s interpretations into the text!

Here are some comparisons of Brian O’Connell of the truth with their error using the KJV as a base and CWB for the SDA.

1 Thesalonians. 4:16    KJV 

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

“God’s Son” was inserted to identify Michael – intentionally to indicate he is also Christ.

Interestingly, Elmer Wiebe on Page 234 of his book, (“Who Is the Adventist Jesus?” July 16, 2005, XulonPress.com) noted the same insertions, with the same observations.  

Researcher Matt Slick made an analysis on the Clear Word Bible of the SDA and claimed that it is not a translation but a mere paraphrase. Here’s what Slick wrote of his examination – 

The Clear Word Bible, published by Review and Herald® Publishing Association and authored by Jack J. Blanco, is a paraphrase, not a translation.

Slick believed that since the intent is to communicate biblical teachings, is owned by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and sells the Clear Word Bible, he can only conclude that the SDA church approves of the CWB. But here’s his question:

Finally, I have a question.  If the SDA theology is so biblical, then why does the CWB drastically alter so many of the biblical texts?

Motive of Insisting Jesus is Michael

History records that this heresy about Jesus being Michael the Archangel came into the Jehovah’s Witnesses together with many wrong teachings of Ellen G. White. She called Christ as Michael the Archangel, in Desire of Ages p. 99 & 379; Spiritual Gifts, Va, p.158; and Prophets & Kings, p. 572 (Dr. V. Streifling, http://mmoutreachinc.com/seventh_day_adventists/egw_othergods.html).

While there is not a single scripture that says Jesus is “Michael,” Brian O’Connell of Crossbearer.net traced a strong motive on the SDA’s insistence that Jesus is Michael. Here’s what he wrote –

WHY is it so important for the SDA church to prove that he IS? What is their hidden motive? While early church fathers, as well as the scriptures, taught that Michael is “one of” the chief angels under the authority of Jesus Christ, why attempt to forcibly identify Michael to be Jesus without a single verse of Scriptures outright declaring him to be Jesus? I trust that this error was generated by the SDA founders to support their “investigative Judgment” heresy they received by “revelation” to cover up their embarrassment by the absence of the return of Jesus Christ in 1844!

Brian O’Connell continued –

The fruit of this error can be found in the offspring of the SDA church, the Jehovah’s Witnessess, who rebelliously refuse to bow their knee to Jesus and worship him as God as commanded by the scriptures (Phil. 2:6-11). Believing that Jesus is only an angel, J.W.’s refuse to bow their knee in worship and surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ as God the Son. This disobedience by J.W.’s leaves the follower of this cult in a state of sin, disobedience, and leaves them on the “broad road” that leads to destruction, thanks to the SDA teachers who propagated this error! Offspring of the SDA church or not, the Jehovah’s Witnesses have carried many of the false teachings of E. B. White through Charles Taze Russell. Another account confirmed the SDA-JW tie in this Jesus-Michael error. Here’s what they wrote:

SDA’s share their early history with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. An early Adventist, N. H. Barbour co-published with Charles Taze Russell. They had a falling out over (what else?) dates for the end of the world! (1844 and 1874), and parted company. Both, however, kept heretical doctrines to this day like Jesus being Michael the Archangel, the denial of Hell, and both still advocate soul sleep. Both invented invisible occurrences in heaven for their failed dates for Christ’s visible return, investigative judgment for the SDA’s and Christ’s invisible “presence” for Jehovah’s Witnesses. Hence, among other false beliefs, Jesus is Michael the Archangel to both SDA and JW’s. The Watchtower Society of the Jehovah’s Witnesses produced its own translation of the Scriptures in 1961. Granting that the Jehovah’s Witnesses only rely on their New World Translation and not on the Clear Word Bible, there are found so many issues with the NWT too, from Genesis to Revelation. Steve Rudd of Canada claims NWT (1950) is a corrupt, sectarian paraphrase that has systematically abused the divine names or titles of Jesus in which he is called God (http://www.bible.ca/Jw-NWT.htm).

But is Jesus Christ, Michael the archangel?

Nowhere is Michael said to have become Christ or vice versa. In the Bible, the exalted office of Christ is sharply distinguished from that of the angels (Hebrews 1:1-14).

2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
