Now that he's finally opened up to what everyone already knew, it makes this really cocky and defiant commercial really ironic and hilarious.

Food Review: Chateau Montelena 2009 Chardonnay

Before i begin, I know that Chateau Montelena is well known and very established. I however, am still very new to really exploring and appreciating wines and not just finding my way to the bottom of the glass. While I just recently had the privilege of sipping a few glasses of the 2009 Chardonnay, seeking out the brand actually came from watching the movie Bottle shock. The movie is somewhat of a comedy based on the true story of Jim Barrett a lawyer turned wine maker, making the perfect Chardonnay and bringing Napa Valley into the forefront of a then very French world of wine making. It all turns out to be a very interesting story of how Chateau Montelena was reborn under Jim and a Paris wine tasting that forever changed the world view of where great wines can come from.

The wine. A very gentle grape skin with a bit of pear taste, light acidity and nicely sweet. Now I'm no sommelier but, I am entitled to my opinion.. right?

The best part of enjoying such a wine, $50 a bottle for the 2009 is the atmosphere it was poured. Celebrating a birthday and laughing. Tasting the good grapes and hard work, one glass at a time.

As you can see from the picture above, the 2008 Stags Leap Chardonnay is next. I can't wait.

Quick Thought: Tim Cook Will Win Us Over

This changes everything. Again. Remember that recent apple slogan? Well Tim Cook has done just that, changed everything. From his recent mention that Apple does have to much cash to the "New iPad", Tim is shaking the core. This is good.

As we are now days away from a new iPad a lot of people have been up in arms about the "New iPad" not having an S or 3 at the end. Why would Apple and Tim do this? Rebirth. What i think people aren't seeing is that Tim Cook wants the new iPad to be viewed as a relaunch of the iPad and Apple under his watch. This is why there is no moniker at the end, because this is his "first" iPad. He directly attacked the competition on their lackluster ports of Yelp and other apps that run beautifully on the iPad, and argued that only Apple can bring the kind of hardware and software innovation seen on recent apps like the new iPhoto. "This is only the beginning" he says as he closed the "New iPad" keynote, and to "expect a lot more innovation like this throughout the year".

I've seen recent blog posts claiming he made his first mistake or that he is the next John Scully, Don't listen and don't count him out. We have to give this CEO some media breathing room. He is running the most watched, analyzed and scrutinized companies in history after all.

Remember, just like any other leader Tim probably knows a few things we don't.. and thats ok.

The Act: Animated iOS Game That You Control

Heres a very cool Concept, you slide your finger left or right and that dictates how aggressive or mild your animated reacts to the situations around him. Well, React is doing just that in a game that was originally conceived as an arcade game in 2007. This game is coming to iOS and Mac in the next few months and is a fresh take on games like Dragons Lair.

This is a great show of what a solely touched based experience can provide in terms of not having physical buttons to control actions or movement. I hope that there are more games or "interactive movies" that find a new home on tablets, remember Night Trap on the Sega CD!!

Awesome "Kara" Tech Demo Leaves Us Wanting More

This tech demo debuted at the Game Developers Conference this year and is astonishing. Showcasing a new engine that can follow face and voice in real time, David Cage and Quantic Dream used a Playstation 3 as the hardware for this creation. It is beautiful show of what technology can do, similarly Avatar used a real time facial mask that made the creature movements more realistic.

David Cage is the creator of Heavy Rain, a popular and highly recommended PS3 game with beautiful and engaging graphics and story telling.

David, Please make this a real game.....

Quick Thoughts: Youngs Double Chocolate Stout

If you need a beer that would be great for breakfast this is it. Young's Double Chocolate Stout is just what it sounds like, a strong and smooth taste of bittersweet chocolate over a malty finish. It has no lingering bitter or metallic taste that I sometimes get with other stouts, however you do get a little taste of the higher alcohol, but nothing to affect the nice finish of the beer. Over all a very smooth and easy beer to enjoy. Alc. by VOL 5.2% I give it five out of five.

Mass Effect Gamers Angry Rant

If you are an Xbox, Playstation or PC gamer you know what Mass Effect is, and this guy is pissed! He is ranting about the Downloadable content that was also available the first day the game Mass effect 3 was released.. for an additional ten dollars! The standard price for the game is already sixty dollars and Bioware seems to have made the additional download necessary for a complete experience, adding ten dollars from day one. Shame on you Bioware and EA, but the resulting video is hilarious. Enjoy.

I have gone through a lot of cases for my iPhone 4, Really. So, i was very excited to check out something very small and easy for my phone, that wasn't a hassle or bulky.

Enter Thinskins: I found these to be very easy and fun, as they come in a variety of colors and are simple to apply. each package comes with one back and two sets of sides for the CDMA and GMS versions of the iPhone. When you apply the skin you will see that it is sticky on the back side but not superglue, this is great as it allows you to adjust slightly if needed, but also doesn't gunk up the phone like a standard decal might.

I found these very nice to use if you want some simple and clean flair for your iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s. If you are tired of a large case that takes away from the beauty of your phone or love to easily customize you phone with your mood this is the Thinskin for you. 5 out of 5. Video review below.

Remembering Steve Jobs - I Cried

By this time there are lots of tributes, memorials, blog posts and even talks of a movie about the passing of Steve Jobs. I took the time and enjoyed all the different prospectives and personal stories about people meeting him for five minutes or how they worked with him on various products. I did neither of these and yet I cried. ALOT. Here's my two cents..

It was just so sad to see someone that I have grown to admire and respect as a tech giant but also a person that personified that futuristic coolness of a super nerd pass away. I always assumed after the keynotes he so perfectly delivered, he hopped on a Segway and then his flying car and returned to his uber-modern mansion in Silicon Valley. I WAS WRONG. One of the amazing things about this genre defining billionaire CEO was he lead a regular life in a regular house on a nice street in Cupertino. He was private and precise and loved his wife and children.

I think that its is amazing and makes it so evident how important he was that even the President of the United States issued a statement over the loss of Steve Jobs. Globally important. Many people have said that he will be remembered up there with Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein, and U2's Bono praised Apple co-founder Steve Jobs as the "hardware software Elvis" and "one of a very small group of anarchic Americans who through technology literally invented the 21st century"

I remember my first computer was an old pc with Windows 3.5. Of course, we had Mac II's and subsequent IBM machines in school, and I'd even laid my hands on an old Mac Plus... all was well UNTIL I saw the first iMacs in 1998. I remember seeing all the colors and thinking how cool it was to be able to have a personal pick on what you wanted in your home, no beige. I had to have one, and even worked out a deal with my grandmother to help me pay for one!

I was always interested in the products and the keynotes he delivered with such excitement. He was always very engulfing and showed us things that fixed problems we didn't know we had and cool things we didn't know we needed. He and Apple made products personal, functional, and undeniably simple for the masses. I will always miss those Steve Jobs Keynotes, but I look forward to what's next from Apple, and what I will come from all of us that were so influenced by him... now wheres my turtleneck.

Many years and many Apple products later, I am forever a fan of the brand and the man, Nuff said.

Eggs and Toast

Breakfast with eggs and toast is old news, so I wanted to try something I have seen a few times.. Eggs IN toast.
(I used a none stick pan for this)

Just crack one egg and let it start to cook for about 30 seconds to a minute, once the bottom has started to turn white add a pre-toasted piece of bread with a whole cut out on top. Now what I do to ensure the egg finishes on the top side is add a couple teaspoons of water and place a lid on top for a minute. Easy.

Limitless possibilities, there is so much to be done with an egg placed in exciting places... More to come.

Sony Reveals the Tablet P Software Experience, EWW

This is the dual screen tablet Sony has been working on for a while as the S2, now renamed Tablet P. I am sorry to say but after the videos posted today showing the user experience and product use, I'm afraid this is another tablet that will end up a fire-sale.

First, the Tablet P looks bulky. There is So much body surrounding the screen it makes the 5.5-inch

screen(s) look small. The custom UI does split familar tasks like adding your email list below your opened emails on the top screen, but so far looks more like a gimmick than a needed change from current Android tablets. The Tablet P packs a dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 Processor, dual 5mp and VGA camera's and will be available in 16GB and 32GB. The price for each is $499 and $599 respectively, i could get some cool stuff

for that kinda cash.

I have to vote FAIL on the Tablet P. It is just a strange hybrid of other tablets and phones that are done better elsewhere. I think Microsoft was right when they canceled the Courier. Hit up the Video and see what you think...

Jobs has left the building....

What does this mean for Apple? What does this say about his health? Today Steve Jobs has resigned his post as CEO, a position he held for the second time starting in 2000.

Apple overtook Microsoft just last year and briefly passed Exxon Mobile as the most valuable Company in the U.S. and now we have him stepping down -

"I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple's brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you."

Apple has confirmed that Jobs will stay on a Chairman, but what will the new CEO Tim Cook mean for the company? Tim Cook has held the reins since Jobs took a medical leave in January and seems like the obvious choice. Tim Cook did bring Apples manufacturing to the well oiled machine it is today, but what happened to the rumors that Jonathan Ive could possibly be a choice, he is the Design guru behind the Mac Book Air and iPad 2 and shares that same desire for art and functionality. Perhaps Phil Schiller and John Ive will share more time on stage. So many questions, only time will tell.

Im sure Tim Cook will be phenomenal as CEO and Jonathan Ive now has a real moment to shine.

Gamestop Removes Onlive Coupon from Deus Ex

The big corporation that is Gamestop has decided that if the games they sell include anything they don't feel you as the consumer should have they will remove it. The new Deus Ex game released by Edios and Square Enix includes a coupon for a free online "cloud" Version via Onlive gaming service... But not if you get it at Gamestop.

Consumers first complained to the website Gamespy they they were receiving opened copies with no coupon included and word has slowly spread of the ordeal. There internet is buzzing with questions of the legality of Gamestop opening games but selling them as new.

Once confronted by Square Enix Gamestop has changed its policy and will not only stop opening the games but also not sell the game at all unless the coupon for the competing online service is removed. WOW.

So now what happens we buy games as Gamestop sees fit and accept their online service as our only choice? If i were Square Enix i would halt the online sales of Deus EX on Gamestops online service...

I think we are going to see a lot more issues like this in the future. Get up and let your consumer voice be heard, if you got an opened game from Gamestop take it back and demand a sealed one and get that Onlive coupon its belongs to you!!!!!

I wonder if the Gamestop employees are using them........ HMM....

Starbucks adds free apps to "pick of the week" program

Starting Tuesday, August 23rd Starbucks will begin adding apps to the iTunes pick of the week program in stores nation wide. the first app to be featured as the pick of the week is the Shazam Encore app witch is currently $5.99 in the app store. There will be a new app featured for free every week via the redemption code on the back of each weeks card.

I think this is very cool of Starbucks to continue to innovate and drive traffic to their stores, also its a win for apple iOS users and further separates them with advantages over the android market place.

There is talk that this will also expand into other ios media such as ibooks and television episodes, sounds like I'm going to starbucks tomorrow... once i think I'm out, they pull me back in!

Best Buy and Samsung are going to move a few more Galaxy Tabs next week. Starting on Sunday, if you buy a top-tier Samsung 3D HDTV for $1500 or $2000, you'll also go home with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. So, in other words, if you buy an over-hyped HDTV, Best Buy is going to unload a GalTab on you. Sounds great for the buyer, but the one-week promotion speaks volumes about the current state of the Android tablet market.
The move is smart, though. Consumers aren't latching onto Android tablets partly because they don't know about them. Outside our silly little word, the iPad is the only tablet most consumers have ever heard about. This bundle will at least get the tablet into the hands of a slightly different demographic.
Buyers have the choice of either a 46-inch or 55-inch Samsung 3D HDTV. Both feature LED backlighting, 240Hz motion, and, of course, 3D technology. They're rather pricey options, and a good deal more than competing TV sets from LG or Panasonic — but you get a free $500 tablet with the Sammies.
This signals that Best Buy, and maybe the manufacturers, are starting to realize that non-iPad tablets aren't an easy sale. This comes after Best Buy redesigned its computer department to better feature and display Android tablets. They now have the same placement as notebooks, but that might not be enough to cycle through inventory quick enough. The retailer reportedly has a massive back-stock of unsold HP TouchPad tablets after only selling 25,000 of their 270,000.
The promotion starts this Sunday, August 21 and runs through August 27.
