Two full days I was working on this design, so no time for cooking and cleaning…
(poor me :) )

But I am very satisfied with the result and it is definitely a beautiful and challenging beading project. It is not quick and easy, also not suitable for beginners and beaders without patience.

I am looking forward to the photos of your finished work of this Beading Tutorial.

Yesterday I was a little overwhelmed from the reactions on Facebook about this ring.
It was for me the motivation to get up early and dedicate myself to make the tutorial for “Salinas Ring” Again no cooking and cleaning.

When I was making this ring, I did a great invention :)

I made this ring with a Tulip needle with a broken top.
I thought: That is how beading needles have to be – blunt. When they are sharp you can easy damage the thread and you know what consequences that will have…

Maybe they are already on the market and if not…
This is a great opportunity for needle makers! :)

We are with our boat (house, office, workshop, studio, transportation device and communication center) on anchor in the bay by Salinas, Puerto Rico.
Totally sheltered behind reefs and mangroves. The boat is not moving at all, it is so quiet and peaceful and that is exactly the kind of place you need when you are making this ring :)

I want to TRUST!
I want to trust a person; I want to believe that they have the best interest at heart. I want to believe they wouldn’t do something to hurt me or for selfish gain. I want to rely on them. (-askville-)

When I sell my beading tutorials, I want to trust that my buyers respect my designs and my hard work. Luckily I have a lot of beading friends who are doing that.

But, after several negative experiences I decided to make terms & conditions. Something I hate, because why I have to tell something that everybody already knows? Do you think it will help when you make these “rules”?

A few examples from my experience: (My husband calls this “the shadow side of success” :))

•  Bead stores are selling my tutorials
•  My Beading tutorials are included in kits
•  Someone started an advertising campaign by sending my tutorial to 100 people in order to fulfill her beading classes.
•  A bead club member was buying one tutorial and shared it with the whole club.
• etc etc.

And what is even worst, they think I will never discover what they are doing.

If you are the person who has broken my trust, you have no right to expect anything from me, especially trust. Sorry, but you earned my distrust.
That also means that you are ready to face the consequences of your misconduct.

Beading is my passion and I put a lot of effort and time in designing, making and writing beading tutorials.
When I see how other beaders are making more beautiful pieces using my designs, I am only proud, impressed, inspired and sometimes a little bit….. jealous.

Really…. My ego is not that big :)

Today I have started a beautiful but heavy job. I want to show you  the photos of the finished work what my beading friends made, using my beading tutorials.  I am impressed, proud  and inspired by their work. It is really amazing when you look at color combinations and variations.

Like we all know, you never have the right colors of beads when you start a project…  That is why I always want to have more and more beads. My husband is complaining that the boat is heeling to port, that is where my beads are :) (Sailors always have to make things complicated port= left)

Can you imaging how happy I am when  I see all those beautiful colors what you are using?

When I started to bead I had luck to find her web site and especially her ‘Learn‘ page with free tutorials. First, I was amazed with her beadwork and I was thinking:”Wow, am I ever going to reach that level?” :) Then and still Eva Maria Keiser is my ‘bead star’.

You know, we all have our own way of thinking when we are beading, our own structure and way how we are doing things. I fell in love in her way of thinking…

I’ve started with ‘Galaxy series‘  and now I still admire to her Ponering Pods – Posh-Pod . Especially in that tutorial you will see what I mean with ‘her way of thinking’…

Her architectural and structural beadwork, combination of beads, combination of stitches, color combinations… It’s just amazing! And it’s absolutely unique. Once familiar with her work, you will always recognize it.

It’s wonderful that such a ‘beading master’ shares her knowledge, beading tips&tricks. Lately, beside her new beadwork serious, she puts a lot of efforts in educational part, especially on her blog. I would say it’s a gorgeous place for all of us to find everything on one place. In the title of her blog you will see ‘Look – Learn – Share – Inspire’ and also ‘Complimentary e-patterns’. And that is exactly right description of her blog.

Till now, I’ve noticed that she has 63 posts about beading techniques!  I said, till now… :)

You will find there her free tutorials, video tutorials about jewelry making (also other great tutorials) and wonderful Artisan Color Way Series.

You will see the work of artists from all around the world, you will be inspired with their colors and their work. It can give you some idea for your next piece of jewelry or it will make it easier for you to choose the colors. Great way to combine beautiful and useful…

Is my entry piece for Batle of the Beadsmith. This is my first competition in which I have took a part…

Milena is my mother’s name and I thought this is also a nice opportunity to say THANK YOU to her for all what she has done for me till now (especially because this is my first entrance in any competition).

She used to say that she doesn’t understand what I am doing :) and that is not only about jewelry what I make, but also about sailing and my way of life.

Milena necklace is made with Swarovksi rivolis 18, 16 and 14mm, Swarovski bicones 3 and 4mm, Miyuki seed beads and Miyuki Delica beads. It’s combination of peyote stitch, herringbone stitch, netting, cubic RAW…

All rivolis are bezel with cubic RAW and peyote stitch and embellished with Swarovski bicones and Miyuki beads. Necklace is made in Herringbone stitch and finally the central part is combination of netting, peyote stitch and Cubic RAW.

I connected Russian leaves using netting and I have to admit, I like that part the most :) Russian leaves are made in different shades, from darkest to lightest  Delica  (Duracoat gold Delica beads). Shades transition is not so visible at the photos, but that is the best what I could make on a day before the dead line. It was raining all the time. So, in the moment of a little bit sun, I did what I did :)

“In an effort to create more awareness of some of the incredible bead artistry being executed by bead masters worldwide, I thought it would be fun to set up a beading “tournament” where original works can be viewed, shared, and celebrated both by the participants, and the beading public alike.

80 seed bead artists have been invited to participate in an elimination “tournament” to determine which piece of their original beadwork best captures the imagination of 119 of their fellow designers, specialty bead shop owners, and members of various beading magazine editorial staffs.

There is no prize for winning the Battle of the Beadsmith, participating artists are creating simply because it’s what they love to do ”

Zoya Gutina was born and raised in the USSR, but for the more than 10 years has lived in the United States in New York City and now in Alexandria, Virginia. She holds a Diploma from the College of Culture in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg), Russia.

Zoya is an internationally known gemstone and beaded jewelry artist, a blogger and a publisher, a first place winner and a veteran exhibitor in many jewelry design competitions.

The concept of the contest is very interesting. Entries in the contest must use one of the three different color combinations from the Pantone Color Institute posted on the Fashion Colorworks contest website. Collaborations between up to four artists are allowed.
The Fashion Colorworks contest is open to beaders from around the world, both amateur and professional and it’s free.

You will be surprise how easy and quick you can make your own Ladies Bangle Bracelet.
Instead of fire-polished beads you can use round beads 4mm.

You will love it, because it’s going fast :) and you would like to make more in different colors…

Is an awesome flower-shaped pendant. Let It Bloom you can also use as a brooch if you glue the clasp on the back.

I used Swarovski rivoli and Swarovski pearls. Also, Miyuki seed beads.

It’s fun to make this pendant. I also had some other ideas how to finish it, but at the end I decided ‘That’s the one!’

Let It Bloom Pendant bends a little bit to the front, so it really looks like a ‘real one’ :). I could not take better photos to show you that better.

I love it’s airy form. I made one in purple/peach/lavender (left photo…) and I made a second one with in blue and gold… I love them both!

So, the pendant is not so demanding if we are talking about material you need, especially if you use one color of pearl.

Is fresh and sweet with a touch of elegance. So, bring a little bit of awesome into your day with this stunner.

It looks wonderful around the wrist. It should fit tightly but you can wear it a little bit loose also…

It is not difficult to make this Pearl Blush bracelet. Yes, they are a lot of layers/rows… but I was enjoying with each new layer I put.
Of course that I was trying and trying different things before I came with this final design :). Still I am thinking I could make it on a different way :)

First I was thinking to make a necklace (using only the first part of the bracelet). Then I realize that I don’t have enough pearls (as always… :)), so I had to work with a bracelet. But, ok I am used on those changes. It happens to me all the time :)
