Yesterday I photographed Boiler Room's stunning Sofie Fatouretchi at The Ring Hotel in Vienna. Next week is my Stock Up week, where I'll be running around buying things I'll need for travelling. Top on my list: some white sneakers. Because the only ones I have are 1) my Supergas (too dirty to see its original color) 2) My running shoes (just no) and 3) My lame Doc Martens that I still haven't broken in after three years.

Summer time is finally here, with the odd flood here and there. Plus my roof is open again, which means more outfit posts!! This is mostly due to the fact that my camera weighs more than a baby rhino, and also because it takes a couple shots to get one I like and I can't be assed to do it in public when tourists are gawking (Vienna tourist high season has started, which has put the 'Mission: Avoid Mozarts' into action once more.)

Here's another scanned set of photos of a shoot I did with Raffaela, starring Belinda H. @ Wienermodels, over two years ago. We worked in a gorgeous apartment in Vienna, and although the team was small (I also did the makeup), we were super productive and the shoot took less than two hours.

I'm never here longer than a month at a time now, so I feel like I'll stay forever a tourist in this city. At least the Mozart promoters seem to think so: 'Do you want to see this musical tonight?' 'No thank you, I live here.' 'Yeah sure you do.' My life compressed into a dialogue.

Quirky places in Beijing

I'm only here in Vienna until the 24th, then I embark on my journey to the UAE and then home sweet home, Beijing, for all of July. Since I've pretty much covered all the mainstream touristy sites there, I've made it my goal to visit some more up-and-coming architecture/monuments that define China's developing state. It'll be interesting to see, since I haven't been back in over 2 years.

I have been scanning old printed photographs all day, and these are from one of the first shoots I ever did, in 2010. Mitzy did the styling, and models are Iris and Mercedes from Stellamodels. We shot this at Donauinsel, which somehow shocked a booker I know. I've been back almost a week in Vienna now, so starting next week it'll be back to shooting! Hope you like these. Just stumbled across Tulasi's blog Stealing Style, and I love it! Great clean layout, really structured and functional outfits. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by outfits on certain style blogs because they're not so possible for me (I can't imagine someone in full on heels etc. running around campus in Edinburgh for instance) so this is great inspiration.

It's summertime! And while I love ms. Del Rey, it's not about sadness but busy-ness (I know, that was pretty cringe. Ah well). I have a number of projects planned, getting two editions of KNEON out, working a job in Beijing (still to be decided), potentially setting up an online store complete with lookbooks, shooting some New Faces, going to Dubai + Abu Dhabi to visit two of my best friends... working at home has also never been better with 8tracks.com. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this explosion of amateur photoshop techniques in this post. I thought, if tumblr-ers (is that what you call someone who tumbles?) can do this, then I can too (in ironic tribute to microsoft paint of course...). NEW HAIR SAME NOOB

I went to get my hair cut today and it's weird to think I ever had (nearly) long hair. I love the concept of it. I love it on other girls. It looks cute and feminine and sexy and, well, I just was stressed out of my mind trying to dry it all the time. Also, whenever I put it into a ponytail, the weight of it all would give a migraine. Maybe I'm just missing some kind of girl gene, the kind that gives you an Extra Portion patience with the dryer, or a sturdier head? I really should get a refund.

In other super exciting news, I'm in Vienna now on my mini Easter break (1.5 weeks is hardly enough time to unwrap a super large chocolate bunny, purlease) basking in some rare sunshine and bullying my sister at home. Life is predictable right now and I love it!! (Although, if unpredictable will get me to Coachella, then I will love that a tad more).

BIG. SIGH. OF. RELIEF. Essays all handed in, work load coming to a normal level again. Also, some pretty ear candy from Urbanears came in the post last week. The Zalando UK team were sweethearts and let me to pick out something to send over. I was tempted to get accessories (i.e. a really overpriced Moschino bracelet) but then I chose something a little more practical.

...headphones whose poppy color would potentially fit in with these bad boyz....

My friend showed me these tops/sweaters from SMOOOOTH yesterday and I nearly died. PRINTZ PRINTZ PRINTZ! I can see myself getting the bunny one and evolving immediately into a Kawaii Queen. Maybe the team would like to supply me with endless amounts of arguably-hipster-but-undeniably-cool printed jumpers until 2XXX? All in the name of a good reign.

Hamsterdam pt. 1

Part 1 of the touristy batch of photos from Amsterdam. I'd give anything to be wandering around a city, riding bikes in parks, having picnics with weird birds, and stopping for coffee and Belgian waffles every two steps right now this minute. But stuff (i.e. essays) aren't gonna really write themselves, so I'm forced to study-spot hop until then. Some exciting things are happening in the void though: I have my apartment for next year settled, I have Easterbreak to look forwards too (some friends from Edinburgh are going to visit Vienna!) and the Edinburgh Charity Fashion Show is next saturday!
