Scott was most recently Senior Vice President of Engineering &amp; Product Management with Redback Networks responsible for technical and product leadership prior to its acquisition by Ericsson. He has 30 years of networking and telecommunications experience in product and architecture strategy, engineering management, product development and executive leadership.

He was also a group vice president of Cisco Systems with responsibility for multiple business units, including DSL, wireless, Voice over IP, integrated access devices, multi-service switching, cable and dial remote access server and concentrators. He also served as president and chief executive officer of optical start-up Ceyba Corporation.  Scott was executive vice president of research and development (R&amp;D) and product management of Newbridge Networks and held senior technical roles at Mitel and Nortel.</description>

				<description>Security IP provider Elliptic today announced that it has completed the 2.0 release of its Ellipsys security software. This release upgrades the algorithms implemented to include a complete set of asymmetric functions such as Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and RSA algorithms. Elliptic Curve Cryptography is being implemented by the U.S. Government as part of the Suite B standard and the cryptographic modernization program sponsored by the National Security Agency (NSA). ECC is also used in digital rights management and mobile handsets due to the high security it can offer at much smaller key sizes than the equivalent RSA algorithms.</description>
