Sundown Festival 2010 will be taking place tomorrow (July 31st) at New York ,Universal Studios Singapore®. Sundown Festival 2010 will bring us one step closer to uniting all Asian music fans. This year’s show will open in dramatics with 20 Tenko drummers (famed Japanese Taiko drummers) and will see Japanese rock band, SuG, South Korean No. 1 girl band, Afterschool, South Korean fashion forward band, F.cuz, new age Japanese rock band, LM.C! This will be one big Asian fashion and music extravaganza!
There will be a Fan meet at IMM Plaza tonight (July 30) with all performing artiste of Sundown festival 2010. More details in full post!

Well, they did it because they know they can sell and for this year back-to-school fashion, 4 celebrities have launched their own fashion line specially for young girls aged between 13 to 17. Olsenboye by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

They are already well established actress and fashion designers with lines like marykateandashley and The Row. Now, the girls are back with a new label Olsenboye; an affordable clothing line inspired by the cities they've visited targeted for young high school girls. For their first collection, Olsenboye were inspired by London. Olsenboye is well supported by JCPenney.

Material Girl by Lourdes Leon and Madonna

It was major news when Madoona stated that she and her eldest daughter Lourdes Leon, are going to launch a clothing line. Madonna insisted that she is just the helping hand where as Lourdes are the creative mind behind the designs. Material Girl is highly inspired by Madonna 80's look in which Lourdes put in her twist of the modern fashion that's appropriate for young teenage girls.

For those who aren’t aware, BB Cream stands for “Blemish Balm Cream”, and has been attributed to why Korean celebrities have good skin. Most BB Creams are multi-functional, meaning they provide a variety of benefits such as having whitening and anti-wrinkle properties, UV protection, and moisturizers.

I personally like using BB Cream on an everyday basis as compared to foundation because it’s easier to apply and my skin can breathe more when I wear it.
But due to the vast array of BB Creams out there, how do you know which is the right one for you? This article will provide you some tips of choosing the one suitable for your skintone, what to expect when you do use one, and some suggestions of which BB Cream to try!

CHOOSING A BB CREAM:

A disclaimer I usually tell people when they ask me which BB Cream they should buy is that if they’re not fair-skinned, finding the right product would be a hard task. Most, if not all are targeted to the fair-skinned Asians and do not offer a wide array of shades like foundations do.
Know what you need. As I said before, since BB creams are multi-functional, their available in variants that offer anti-wrinkle properties to those that help whiten your skin.
Korean make-up stores are known for giving away samples of their products, so try to get your hands on these as much as you can to narrow down your choices before you splurge on one. BB Creams also vary in terms of price so you don’t want to end up buying something expensive and not using it because it clashes with your skin.
If you don’t live in Korea but have seen BB creams in stores, use their testers! But do NOT swatch it on your hand. Instead, use the tester on your entire face then let it settle. Don’t base your decision on how you initially look. Since BB creams when first applied give your face a grayish cast, you would have to wait for a few minutes to let it absorb on your skin. I suggest that you walk around the mall for awhile and then after an hour check to see how it looks like.
Finally, do not base your choice on the PRICE. Some BB creams can be really effective even though they’re less expensive than others.

PRODUCTS TO TRY:
Just a disclaimer, these were the BB Creams I already tried so these do not cover ALL BB creams and I ranked them by order of preference.

SKIN79 Super+ Beblesh Balm BB Cream Triple Function (Hot Pink)

- Has great coverage and lasts all day long. My favorite BB cream and this suits a lot of skin types. It minimizes your pore size and reduces the redness on your face. It’s great for everyday use. Some might not like the scent though, it smells like moisturizer.

Etude House Dr. Oil Solution Anti-Shine BB Lotion

Perfect for girls with oily skin (like me)! Most BB creams have “glowing” properties but this particular one makes your skin look more matte and reduce that shiny look we all hate. But if you don’t have oily skin, this product is not for you.

Missha M Signature Real Complete BB Cream

Pricier than the other Missha BB creams, but I’ve seen my sister use this and her skin looks very refined and has great coverage. The glow is pretty subtle and not over-the-top. Her skin improved after she used it.

SKIN79 Super+ Beblesh Balm BB Cream VIP Gold Collection

My mom uses this and it looks really good on her. Gives out a wonderful glow (not oily kind of glow). I think this is best for more mature women around 35 years and above. I’m not so sure about this but I think it has gold and caviar extracts as ingredients! Very luxurious, don’t you think?

Liole Beyond the Solution

Comes in a really pretty packaging and one pump from the tube is enough for your whole face! Coverage-wise, not as great as the Skin79 Hot Pink, I’d say you still need concealer for it, but it does the job.

BoA "Game" MV released. The song is composed by the talented song-producer, Jinu(Hitchhiker).

BoA is finally making a korean comeback after 5 long years (her last Korean album being Girls on Top in 2005). Her sixth korean album is entitled Hurricane Venus and the official release will be on the 2nd of August.

I've always love her MV's from Atlantis Princess to No.1 to Energetic.

I feel disappointed with Game. though. I was actually looking forward to some really powerful dancing that matches with her equally powerful voice. But everyone should still watch her MV cause it shows a totally different side of her. No more cute personality. It's all sexy and mature. And of course, she looks gorgeous like always.

Everyone look out for BoA and give her your outmost support. K-pop is about to get even more exciting with her comeback.

Jay Park fan meet schedule was announced on the 19th of July on his official Jay Park site. His fan meet will kick off in Korea on the 28th of August 2010. Other major cities which he will be visiting will be Hong Kong, Taipei, ShangHai, BeiJing, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh, Manila and Bangkok. Yes! You did not get me wrong. Jay Park is to visit Malaysia in late September for his first meeting with Malaysia's Jay Walkers!

Although so, ticket price and also the venue of the fan meeting have not been confirmed for many cities.

Gillian Chung promotes her movie in Malaysia

Recently Gillian Chung, the member of Hong Kong well known duo girl group TWINS was here in Malaysia to promote her movie "The Fantastic Water Babes" sponsored by Jaz Beer.

The Fantastic Water Babes" is a romantic comedy in which Gillian plays an innocent but gusty girl who is dumped by her boyfriend and plans to win back his love. She challenges herself and decides to learn how to swim to get her revenge through the help of a swim coach. During the process, they evolve from quarrelsome enemies to lovers. In the end Gillian determination and courage pay off and she blossoms from a swimming novice to a fantastic water babe through the coach's guidance. The movie is directed by Jeff Lau. Besides than Gillian Chung acted as the main cast, Alex Fong, Stephen Fung and Eva Huang are featured in the movie as well.

In line with the theme of the movie, Gillian partied and participated in various challenging games with 250 lucky winners from radio stations, newspapers, GSC facebook and Jaz Beer facebook contest.

G.NA whose real name is Choi Gina was a former leader of group Five Girls which was supposed to debut under Good Entertainment in 2007. But,at the very last minute the group disbanded due to financial problems.All the members has parted ways and some had already make their debut in the entertainment industry.

Five Girls was originally composed of 5 members namely Yoobin who is in Wonder girls, Hyosung in Secret, Uee in After School and Jiwon (former member of T-ara) who is currently an actress.

Q: What is Fei's strength?
Suzy: There's an elegant air about Fei and she is sexy appearance-wise. There's also a very strong force about her which makes her worthy of being the eldest in the group. But she's also very cute, sings well, and is a very sexy dancer. She's also good at cooking so she always cooks for us.
Fei: I cook Chinese food for them.
Suzy: Sometimes it's food she comes up with but it's all good. She's a very good cook.
Fei: And as for Suzy, she's very cute and although she's the youngest in the group, she never asks to be taken care of but rather takes good care of us. If there's something good to eat, she'll always ask us if we want it.... Eating is most important for us. (laugh)
Min: Whoever gives us food is considered a good person. Whoever feeds us, buys us food equals good person. (laugh)

Q: Who's the funny one? Or the one that lifts up everyone's moods?

Min: I don't know what they're talking about.
Jia: She's talented.
Fei: Very talented. And her facial expressions, her movements, they're all funny. The sound of her laugh is funny too. And she never tries to be funny on purpose either.

Q: Have you ever fought?
Suzy: No, we haven't. At least not yet.

Q: What do you think your strength is as a girl group then? There are so many girl groups nowadays.
Min: We don't have a leader so everyone respects everyone's opinions more and we always discuss everything together before making decisions. We're also very close...
Jia: (Quietly says) Like family, family...
Min: And we've been working so hard for such a long time so I guess I could say we're experienced in our own ways? We're also a multinational group. We all speak Korean, Mandarin, Fei speaks Cantonese, I can speak English. And we're continuing to learn the languages. A variety of cultures exist within our group.

Q: You guys come off as being confident and it makes you seem less of a newcomer. Is it because you guys really are that confident or is it part of your concept?
Jia: It might seem like that because we have experience standing on stage. Fei and I worked in China for about half a year before. And plus, our song is also about confident women.

Q: Is the culture different at broadcasting stations in China versus Korea?
Fei: They're different in how you say hello to each other. In China, you can just wave your hand to everybody and say hi but in Korea, you have to look everyone in the eye and bow to them.

Q: Isn't it hard having to adjust to that?Q: Do you read comments that people post online about you guys? Which comments make you the happiest?
Suzy: That we don't seem like newcomers. And that every one of us is good at singing.
Fei: That we look good as a group.
Suzy: Oh, and when I read comments saying they had been waiting for a group like us. It felt so good. We all huddled around a computer on our way home to read the comments after giving our debut performance.
Jia: Since me and Fei are Chinese, when they say we have good pronunciation. That we seem like Koreans.
Fei: We worked so hard on it because we couldn't pronounce the letter close to 'r' in Korean. So I practiced that one letter for nearly a year.
Jia: We would always repeat everything and ask our other members how certain things are pronounced.

Q: Who's your role model?
Jia: Rihanna. I'm a huge fan. I want to become a great performer like her.
Min: I don't have a set role model but I like Beyonce a lot. She works on her career but also keeps her private life to herself which I respect. And she also runs her own business... I want to learn to cultivate a passion like hers for a different kind of success.
Suzy: I like Beyonce too.
Min: We all like similar artists.

Q: miss A stands for A-class and Asia but don't you feel that you want to go outside Asia too?
Min: We haven't thought about that yet. We've just taken our first step so we want to do a good job with it, then as the second step, reach a certain level in Asia. I think we can think where we want to go after that after that happens.

Q: What is your dream?
Suzy: This year, to win the award for best new artist. Then it would be nice to win a bigger award later on and become recognized throughout Asia. I also hope we always stay modest and not forget the mindset and determination we had when we debuted.
Min: I hope we can stay on good terms and be healthy. Health is most important.

Before their debut, they were better known as the 'Chinese version' or 'second version' of female idol group the Wonder Girls, the Korean pop sensation from their agency JYP Entertainment who late last year became the first local talent to break into Billboard's Hot100 chart.

They proved they were actually quite different from their predecessor in terms of style of music and group image but the first week of their singing career has proven they could be headed toward winning the same reputation.

miss A, composed of Chinese members Fei and Jia, and Koreans Suzy and Min, strutted into the local music scene last Thursday with "Bad Girl, Good Girl" which had secured the top spot on numerous web-based music charts including MelOn, social networking site Cyworld, Mnet, Soribada, Bugs, Hanteo, Monkey 3, in just five days of its release.

The powerful vocals and dance moves the quartet has revealed to the public, while singing of a strong-minded and confident woman who wants a man that likes her for who she is, has shown they are not the typical newcomer group.

The quartet sat down with Asia Economic Daily for an interview on Wednesday, speaking of their hopes and aspirations for becoming the next big name in Asia.

Q: Did you expect the song to do so well?
All: No, not at all.

Q: But you were hoping it would, right?
Suzy: Yes, very much. And it's doing much better than we had expected it to do. I didn't know we would reach No. 1 on music charts.

Q: Suzy, you must've been even more happy since you trained for a relatively shorter time compared to the other members of your group.
Suzy: I prepared for a little over a year but everyone has trained for quite a while, Min for seven years, so I'm inexperienced while everyone else has had a lot of experience. Hence I lack in many ways compared to them which has more disadvantages than advantages.

Q: Min, didn't you have a hard time waiting for your debut? Is there anything you wish was different?
Min: I'm disappointed that I didn't get to go to school properly but I learned a lot while in the United States, a lot about their culture and English too. I also made good friends and met good people so although there are some things I missed out on, I think the sacrifices I made were necessary.

Q: How old were you went to went to the U.S.?
Min: In seventh grade, 2004. I was there for three years in a row, then I came to Korea every one or two years after that.

Q: And how long has it been since your group formed?
All: It's been three months.
Q: That's very short.
Jia: We were together the whole time though during those three months, day and night. I was worried in the beginning because we had so little time so we tried really hard to become a team quickly.

Q: What were your first impressions of each other?
Suzy: When I first met Min three months ago, she was wearing a huge zip-up hoodie and ugg boots. She looked really cute. And I asked her to eat with me because I was trying to become friends with her but she walked past me, saying she had already eaten. So I was like, 'Oh....' (laugh) And Fei and Jia, they were always busy going back and forth between China and Korea so I hadn't gotten to talk to them a lot in the beginning but I had always thought they were very cool.
Fei: I came to Korea with Jia three years ago and back then, my first impression of her was that she dances very well. Suzy, she was so cute and pretty. I was jealous of her fair skin because I'm on the darker side. And Min seemed very talented and cool... Cool was my first impression of her but she turns out to be very cute.

Q: What's everyone's strength? Min, would you like to start by telling me what your strength is?
Min: My strength is... I wonder what it is... (laugh)
Jia: Her charisma and facial expressions. She has the expressions and vibe that is good for expressing this song in particular.
Min: Jia is a bad girl when she's dancing but otherwise is a good girl. She's very cute and she likes cute things, like pink, Hello Kitty...

Q: Is that why your hair is pink too?
Jia: No. I don't like pink that much. Producer Park Jin-young just suggested it, I thought it would be fun to try and I liked it once I got it done.

Q: And did you say okay to it on the spot?
Jia: Yes, I like trying new things, unique things.
Suzy: Jia has this boyish charm about her and she has fair skin so she looks the best in unique looks.

Brian Joo's 1st Fanmeet in Malaysia

Brian Joo ,a former member of popular R&B duo ,Fly To The Sky was in town last week for a fan meeting here in Malaysia.Organized by Rhythm Land and On Point Entertainment, the showcase was a success which attracted not only local fans but also international fans which took place at The Opera, Sunway Pyramid on July 10th. Earlier in the afternoon, a press conference took place right before the mini showcase.

Last May, Brian announced that he will be having a fan meeting here in Malaysia on his twitter. Without further ado, check out our full coverage on the event in full post!

Brian started off the showcase with 'In My Head'(Korean Version) along with 6 other songs off his first album titled "The Brian" and the second "Manifold".

Brian apologized to the fans for singing the wrong lyrics for the korean version of 'In My Head'. It was said that he has been practicing the English version recently and got mixed- up with the korean version.The fans were supportive of him and told him that " It's Okay". Besides having great vocals, he also showed off his awesome dancing skills which caused the crowd to go "gaga" throughout the showcase. A lucky draw was held during the interval between the showcase. Four lucky winners were draw out from the lucky draw box by Brian on stage.

In conjuction with Brian Joo 1st Fanmeet Live in Malaysia, Rhythm Land held a few contest ; Poster Designing and & A Chance to attend Brian’s Press Conference Contest!

The winner for the Poster Design Contest got her poster signed by Brian and presented it to her by himself. Brian thanked her for making such a nice poster design.

The show continued as Brian performed hit single "In My Head"originally by Jason Derulo and got the crowd to dance along with him.

After the showcase ended, fans who purchased the VVIP ticket proceeded to the first floor for a celebration party with Brian while those who were at the VIP seats were allowed to have a photo-taking session with Brian.

Not forgetting the fans at the upper tier . He is such a sweet guy!

A girl on a wheelchair also came to support Brian too.

Many overseas fans came to Malaysia just to see Brian up-close.We also managed to interview a few of the international fans who were present at the event.One of the fans told us that they don't mind spending their money just to come to Malaysia to see him. Another fan from Singapore said that she hope that Brian will visit Singapore in near future. Some fans came as far from Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, China and even South Korea just to catch a glimpse of their favourite star.

Kim Hyun Joong for Playful Kiss, but with whom?

Kim Hyun Joong, SS501's leader is set to be starring in the upcoming new drama, Playful Kiss also known as Mischievous Kiss which is the remake of It Started With a Kiss /Itazura na Kissas Baek Seung-jo, a perfect all-rounder and an all ahjumma's favourite boy in the drama. However, his female counterpart in the drama has not been finalised yet. The female lead is currently being decided among Park Shin-hye (from You’re Beautiful), Kara’s Han Seung-yeon, and f(x)’s Sulli.

It would be nice to see Park Shin-hye and Kim Hyun Joong to work together again if we all remember how compatible they had looked in the previous Dynamic Kin CF they had worked together in?

Playful Kiss would be aired on MBCs on Wednesdays and Thursdays following the current drama on air, Road No. 1.

JYJ are currently in the US in works to record their new album which is slating for August release.Kim Hyung Suk will be JYJ's project producer which previously worked with Rodney Jerkins before.

The trio will also release "3hree Voices" DVD on the 28th which features private and behind the scenes footage of the boys.
