When we has a baby -and I mean in infant nursing mode - I would nurse him to sleep - sometimes it took two hours for him to fall asleep. I happily sat in his room with him - snuggling, cuddling and admiring.

After he would fall asleep, I would carefully swaddle him and put him into his bassinet. Chris and I slept in the same room with James - in a single - yes you read that right...a SINGLE bed for the first four months of his life. After that, he was moved into his crib and we went back to our Queen size.

Much didn't change with his bedtime routine. He would get a bath from Daddy, and then I would take him to his room, nurse him, swaddle him and again - C A R E F U L L Y out him into his crib. He was sleeping through the night by 6 weeks. He was an angel when it came to naps and bedtime.

I can remember when he somewhat stopped nursing before bed. He would nurse for about 15 minutes and then would be ready for bed. I would encourage more nursing but he refused. He really didn't know how to soothe himself - so Chris and I would both hug him tight, give him kisses and put him down together. We would pat him on the bum and then leave. The first night was rough, but the next night - he just fell asleep. It was magic!

There were nights where he wouldn't let me leave. I would do everything I could to settle him. Bed share (which he HATED), sing his song to him... Smile by Charlie Chaplin. Here is my favorite version. Sometimes I would give up and lay down right beside the crib on the ground.

I can remember when he was like two - we would all be standing in his room - I would hug him, then Chris. I would give him a kiss, then Chris would and then he would pull our faces together and make us kiss. It was so cute. He stopped doing that - then one night a few months back he did it. I burst into tears - it was a fond memory that came rushing back. Back from a time when my not so little toddler was a baby.

Recently, he's been wanting me to put him to bed. Chris still does bath time with both the boys - I take Graham after - nurse him to sleep and Chris puts him to bed - then I go in and cuddle with James. He always asks "Mum, can I just cuddle your bum?" It's slightly odd, but it's cute. He doesn't actually 'cuddle' my bum. He just lays there next to me. He asks me to sing to him..."Twinkle Star" and we sing it together. Then he asks for me to sing Smile. After that he gives me goodnight kisses and a hugs and falls asleep.

Little moments like those are the ones I want to hold on to. Tightly. I will never get these times back and I want to remember them as clearly as possible.
So let's see... where were we this time last year.... Oh right!

I was six months pregnant with Graham and Jimbo was in his terrible two phase. My how life has changed since last year!

Today I turn another year older - I am twenty six years young... I'm not a big 'Hey, let's celebrate me' kinda gal. To be honest - I don't like celebrating. I don't know why... maybe its because I'm a Mum now? I don't know. But I do know that we are going out for dinner tonight.

Where you ask?? Well, its the same place we went to last year. The Keg!

I did originally have a downtown dinner planned, but I decided I wanted to stay closer to home. Plus, I really want scallops and steak...and the places we were thinking of going don't have that.

Enough about me... Jimbo is 3.5 years old today! That means in six short months he will be... oh gosh... ok.. four. He will be four!

A lot has changed for James in the past year.

He learned to use the potty... and I can say that he is fully trained now. We still have the odd accident, but he goes all by himself, and makes sure EVERYONE knows it!

He started school in March and will continue in September as well. He loves school. It has done so much good for him. His vocabulary has rocketed, his sentence forming abilities are amazing and he can remember information better. Preschool was the best thing for him.

He knows his ABC's, and is learning to spell. He knows songs and can count and he's just getting so darn big and smart! We have been working on pronouncing certain letters and he is catching on... really fast.

James was having issues with pronouncing the letters C, G and L. He would say 'tootie' rather than cookie, and 'Drama' or 'Draham' rather than Grandma and Graham. We are working hard on the letter L. He pronounces it like a 'y' sound. So love is 'yuve' - he's getting it. He really has to think about it, but he's getting there.

I think the biggest life change for James was the birth of Graham and becoming a big brother. He fell into that role with so much grace. He truly loves his brother with his whole heart. He teaches him things and shows him the ropes. He loves to show Graham how to play cars and sneaks him cookies when I am not looking.

I am so very lucky to have this little boy in my life.

So much has happened in the year - life really is passing by so fast. I blink and BAM a month is gone. Graham will be nine months old this month, we close on our new home in seven days - I mean my goodness - before I know it I will be writing my "Dirty Thirty" post... ACK!

I need to remember to slow down and enjoy the little things - take the time to live!

Happy Birthday to me - and Happy half Birthday to my stubborn, loving, confident little man.

Love you lots bud.
Yay! Today I got confirmation that the transfer over to Wordpress is in progress!

I won't post too much today as I don't really know what has to be done - this is all new to me so when everything is complete - bare with me. I will get it. I promise.

After almost three years of using Blogger, I'm sort of sad to say good-bye. But I am SO stoked to actually own my blog. It's mine....all mine!!

I will be sure to post a link (if that's even what I have to do) when the time comes. For now, I will continue on with regular postings.

Much love
xoxo
This Monday was frick right off. Seriously.

I want to finish with the sale of our house, pay these damn people and be done with it. I am sick to death of dealing with people who are not doing their job - that sounds so mean - and it is - but I am stressed to the max and need SOMETHING to go smoothly.

Am I excited?? Sure - in ten days we will own our own home. No more renting - but I still have ten days to pack up my house, pull LARGE sums of money out of accounts and give people a whack load of moola... something I HATE doing.

I just want to be moved and to be done with it. I want to go to my happy place and lounge by the beach and soak in the sun. I want to forgot all the stress and enjoy life.

Happy freakin' Monday - sorry for the rant. Love you guys tons....

Much Love
James would sit and play quietly with his toys, we would listen to music and I could pack up during the day. When it came time to move - it went so smoothly - Chris and I thought we were in the twilight zone!

That is NOT the case now. HOLY CRAP! Things are so much more difficult.

Firstly, James will not sit and play with toys - the TV needs to be on (if I turn it off, he turns it back on and then there is a fight) I am sick to death of Kick Buttowski and Tree House. He runs around like a mad man - and I know it's because it's SO gorgeous out - but I cannot go out. I need to pack.

Secondly - Graham is ALL over the place. I have tried keeping them with me while packing boxes, but it gets hard when you have a mountain of shit everywhere!! Not to mention that everything goes into Grahams mouth - we found him sucking on a piece of chalk. GROSS! it's difficult to watch them and pack...

Chris and I agreed that this weekend we would go on a packing spree. Saturday we got up and before we knew it the morning got away from us. We had lunch and then it was nap time for the boys. BOTH of us fell asleep with the boys. We woke up and it was time to go and get groceries. After that it was dinner time so Saturday was a complete write off.

This morning I was adamant that we pack SOMETHING! I made breakfast and off we went to pack. We got Jimbo's room done, as well as the toys that they are not playing with. We did keep some things out for them, but the majority of toys are packed. The linen closet is done as is most of the bathroom. The other closet that we have is getting there. My plan is to work on the kitchen tomorrow and during the week.

We now have boxes everywhere. I HATE having a disorganized house, but this is how we will have to live till next week!

Wish us luck!!

While he was in school, he would bring home work sheets that he did. They were the Alphabet worksheets, you know - the ones where you were asked to trace the letter, then continue on with writing them out... anyways I got a whole whack of them. Each and every one were just doodles - no tracing but there was some great art work.

While at the dollar store one day I found a book similar to the worksheets James was bringing home and I bought it for him. Like I said, I thought it would be good to continue on with writing and reading while he was out of school for the Summer.

Today I decided was a great day to start. I was nervous he would get mad and frustrated with it - but he was ALL OVER IT! I let him choose a colored marker and off he went.

He went through about eight pages and was loving each minute of it.

I am so beyond proud of him. I am hoping to continue on with this throughout the Summer, and we will continue when he starts school again in September. My hope is that he learns to write his own name when he starts school again.
Graham cut teeth four months earlier than James did. I can remember when James cut his first tooth. He was MISERABLE! But I was so excited that he finally had a tooth. He was <strike>eight months old</strike> nine months old, and looked so cute with his one tooth.

Then another one came in, then another one - and my poor guy was in pain. I used Hylands teething tablets, and those Camilla Drops, but soon stopped using them due to the Belladonna in them. I did have an Amber Necklace for him that he started to wear around 6 months of age, but I didn't keep it on him all the time. After his first tooth, that sucker stayed on day and night.

After that, I never knew when James cut a new tooth. He was so content and happy - the Amber was doing it's job.

Well...that's not the case for Graham.

Graham cut his first two teeth February 18 of this year. During that week, he was in so much pain. He was angry, upset and just down right miserable. He was wearing his necklace - but it wasn't helping. I hate giving Tylenol, but that's what it came down to. I refuse to give him tablets or use the teething gel.

Then he cut his top teeth, and again, it was a week worth of tears, no sleep and pain. I hate seeing my babies in pain. His gums were swollen, and he was chewing on EVERYTHING! Bedtime was horrible. He just couldn't settle down, and would wake every hour to comfort nurse. I didn't mind the comfort nursing - it helped soothe him, but what I didn't like was the fact he would fall asleep and then an hour later would be up screaming his face off.

I do not function well off of little to no sleep.

Graham has been showing signs of more teeth coming in for a few months now - but in the last week, he's been in teething mode. Drool everywhere - chewing on anything and everything. I looked in his mouth and from what I can see - there are six...yes you read that right - SIX new teeth on their way in.

Four on the top - lateral and canine and his lateral incisors on the bottom. This makes for a VERY VERY cranky baby. During the day he seems fine. Happy to go about his day crawling and chasing after James. Nap time comes around and he nurses the whole time... he has his toys that he chews on and he gets frozen treats (pears, peaches and sweet potato) but as soon as bed time rolls around... shit hits the fan.

We give him his bath, cuddle for a bit and then I take over to nurse him to sleep. The last three nights I have been giving him a dose of Tylenol because I can see that his gums are hurting him. I don't know what else to give him (*I have purchased some teething oil - I am hoping this works*)

Last night was better than the last two. He nursed to sleep and slept a good 4 hours - then the Tylenol wears off and he's up hurting. In to bed he comes with me and I nurse him... he falls asleep, but wakes very easily. This goes on about every hour. Wakes up, comfort nurses, falls asleep and then repeat.

The worst was two days ago. Went to bed fine, woke up four hours later and then up EVERY SINGLE HOUR. By 3:00 am he was so awake it took me two hours to get him back to sleep. I was crying, he was crying - we were both a mess.

Graham is not the best sleeper. I know he needs more, but he's so busy that, its like he doesn't have time to sleep. He just wants to be up and about with James.

I am hoping that these darn teeth come in quick. I hate seeing him upset and we BOTH need sleep... badly!
I was VERY excited to win this diaper. Chris, just laughed at me.

I decided I would do a review and feature Timbutt2oo's on The Great Mum Adventure.

I won a Timbutt2oos Hybrid fitted and a matching key chain!! The outer fabric is a Rainbow knit with a yellow cotton velour inner. I has a three layer bamboo and cv topped soaker, bamboo doubler, and Sherpa "wet zone" round soaker.

This is one of my favorite fitted diapers.

First impressions:

The quality is amazing! I could tell a lot of love was put into the making of this diaper. It was so soft and squishy and I knew it was going to become a favorite of mine.

I decided I would try the diaper out during the day without a cover, and without any of the doubler's. It held up quite well - Graham went about 2 hours in it (cover less) before it soaked through.

I have to say, the fit is awesome. I don't have to use the FDR (Fold down rise) with Graham as he is quite long for his age. But I do have that option. Graham is still on the smallest waist setting, and has a lot of room to grow with this diaper.

The next test was nap time. I am SO scared of doing a fitted with no cover for nap time, but I decided I would give it a shot. I added just the single bamboo doubler that it came with and hoped that he was dry when we woke up. So fast forward 2.5 hours - we had some leakage, but not a whole lot. This diaper did hold up well, but I think I could get away with no cover if I added the extra Sherpa doubler.

Over night with a cover (Thristies or Fleece) and this bad boy is bullet proof. It's actually one of my favorite nighttime diapers.

After a lot of washes my Timbutt2oos still looks brand new. It's still soft and squishy. It has held up very well in the wash.

I would love to add a few more of these bad boys to our stash. I think I will have to sell some others in order for Chris to be OK with that, but I don't mind! They are so versatile - it's a great addition to any stash.

Timbutt2oo's has a great selection of prints and solids - they rang from $20.00 - $36.00+ which is pretty standard for an awesome WAHM diaper.

Yesterday I took the boys out back to play in the pool. The boys were having so much fun splashing and playing. Graham and James are definite water babies.

I decided to try my manual mode on my Canon Point and Shoot - I think I am getting the hand of it. I found using it in the manual mode gave me a better quality photo.

It's been so hot here in Vancouver - I hate being inside packing so going out yesterday was a nice change.
On Saturday, it was a beautiful day in Vancouver. Chris and I wanted to take the boys out rather than staying at home. The local lake was going to be PACKED, so we decided on going to the beach instead.

I was pretty excited to take the boys, as it would be Graham's first real trip to the beach, and James could have some fun playing in the sand. I ran to the store to grab stuff to make lunch, and to grab some snacks and drinks. After standing at the deli for 15 minutes due to a lady buying literally every type of meat, I finished up and we were off.

Now, Chris and I have never been to this beach - or if I have, I haven't been there in at least 15 years. We got lost, then found it, but there was no parking on the particular side. So off we went to find the parking and entrance. FINALLY! We found it, scored a great parking spot and unpacked.

We really should of thought about what time we were leaving at because when we got there it was almost 2:00 in the afternoon. the boys had not had their nap and it was so obvious. As we were walking to find a spot on the sand, James had a total melt down. He doesn't like the feeling of sand in his shoes, so Chris took them off so he could walk barefoot. Well, the sand was too hot for his little feel - he started to cry. Loudly.

Here we were - not even five minutes at the beach and my 3.5 year old is screaming at Daddy. I calmly get down to his level and ask why he is crying "I don't want to walk in the sand. I don't want to be at the beach. I want the playground" I explained that he could play on the playground once we get settled - but that wasn't good enough. He continued to scream, and cry and yell. I tried to calm him down, but it wasn't working.

We set down our stuff on a grassy spot (well there wasn't a lot of grass) and Chris took James to the bathroom to cool him off. James again, had another meltdown.

After that, he was calm and we proceeded to the beach. I ended up carrying more of what Chris was carrying so he could carry James to a spot - James was NOT going to be walking in the sand today. I found a spot, put out the blanket and chairs and James hopped into one. Safe from the sand below his feet.

Graham was having a good time just looking around. He was all smiles for a child who hadn't napped. I made some sandwiches, and gave James his apple juice. After we ate, Chris wanted to take James to the Ocean - the tide was really far out, which was sucky - but there was a big puddle of Ocean water that everyone was playing in.

Of course - once Chris got James to the giant puddle James broke down again.

*At this point I wanted to go home. James was obviously tired and was not going to be having much fun at all. We had only been at the beach for maybe 20 minutes*

They came back, James ate some cheezies and sat and watched the kites flying around. He had fun watching that - I was glad to see a smile on my little guys face.

At 3:00 it was time to go. We were having company come over for a BBQ and to watch the UFC fights. It was a struggle to get everything packed up - but we did it. I put Graham back in the Ergo and headed with my load to the car.

On the way to the car James had ANOTHER meltdown. Poor guys was exhausted and just couldn't be happy. I felt bad - like really bad. We got the car loaded up, boys into their seat and Graham was out like *snap* that.

What a day that was. I think our total time at the beach was one hour and ten minutes. ONE HOUR AND TEN MINUTES!

We will try again, but I think we will go in the morning, when it first opens. The boys will be rested and we will NOT skip nap time... AND we will get James water shoes - so the sand can't get in.

So our first family beach trip is one to remember - kind of like out first Christmas photo with Santa... we were 'that family'

Here's hoping for a better trip next time.

Much love
xoxo

This will be our, 1,2,3 - 6th move in five years. Our friends hate us right about now. Ha!

Chris and I first moved out together five years ago. While at work, a lady came in to ask if she could post an ad on our bulletin for a 2 bedroom suite for rent. I said sure and rather than posting it, I called Chris and said I think we should go look at it. We were both still living at home, but were talking about moving out sometime in the next 6 months.

That night we went to look at the place. Ugh! It was terrible! It needed to be painted, the carpet needed to be replaced and it smelled funny. The owners assured us it would be painted and that they were planning on putting laminate flooring in. Well, for us that was good enough! We took it!

We both went home and told our parents we were moving out - in two weeks! Needless to say, they were shocked. My sisters were also moving out the same weekend. So in two week my mother would have an empty nest - as would Chris' parents.

We bounced around after that - moved from our two bedroom to a one bedroom (which we LOVED), but then found out we were expecting James. Moved from there to another two bedroom place, which wasn't the best but was fine for the time being. Then moved again, to a smaller, yet better place. THEN, we found out we were expecting Graham and we needed more room. That's where we are now - but only till the 25th of July.

On July 25th, we receive keys to our new home. A three bedroom, two bath town home that we own. Chris and I are still kind of in shock that we are moving to a home that we own. We have always dreamed of owning our own home, but never thought it would be possible for some time. But alas, here we are. Three weeks out - and we haven't started to pack yet.

I think what I am most excited about it being able to do things like paint and what not and not have to ask permission to do so. Weird I know - but it makes me all giddy inside. Chris is excited about not living above or below anyone anymore. Totally get that, but he is also excited that there are small projects for him to do around the house. Like redoing the downstairs bathroom, upgrading fixtures etc.

I will be doing posts on home renos (nothing major as the previous owns have done a beautiful job with the place) but things like paint and decorating etc.

We are so excited and cannot wait for July 25th!

Much love
xoxo
It's been so great to have her here. James loves spending time with his Aunt and Uncle.

Yesterday we all decided to go Downtown Vancouver and visit Chris for lunch. After that we thought we could just walk around till he was off of work. And that is exactly what we did!

We all piled into the car and headed down. James is always so excited to go downtown. I don't know what it is.. but he loves it. We found parking (which is CRAZY expensive) and then got out to find Chris. I decided to bring the stroller, just in case James got tired. Both boys did not have their naps, except for the carried in so I knew James MAY need to sleep. I had Graham is my trusty Ergo and the boy was as happy as a clam.

We finally found Chris and decided to go for some food. James didn't want what we were having, so he just ate a cookie. After a very short 20 minute lunch, Chris had to head back. James was very upset that Daddy couldn't stay with us, but I assured Jimbo that we would be back soon, to pick Daddy up from work. He said OK and said bye.

After that, James wanted some ice cream. That's all he was talking about. "Ice cream please?! Auntie - I have some ice cream?" So we all set out to find James some ice cream - and explore a little.

First off, since we were close to Canada Place we thought we would check it out. There were a bunch of float planes taking off and landing and James thought it was so cool. After about 15 minutes of looking around Graham fell asleep. I didn't mind - the little man needs his sleep.

There were a lot of things James could play with and touch and look at there. He had a great time walking around Canada Place.

After that we set out to look for an ice cream place. This whole time James has been asking if he can have some. I honestly thought it wouldn't be very difficult to find an ice cream joint - but it was.. no lie. We walked around for a good hour before we found anything, Finally - at the verge of giving up and buying a store bought Drumstick - YOGEN FRUZ!

James was so excited! He wanted chocolate ice cream with chocolate candies on top. *Bad Mummy moment #34546 - James didn't actually have lunch this day. A cookie, and frozen yogurt WAS his lunch*

I got what I usually get - Blueberry Frozen Yogurt. At this time Graham woke up - hungry. I brought a bottle of breast milk for him and he chowed down like a champ! Once we were finished it was tome to go and pick up Daddy.

It was one of the most sweetest moments ever!! Chris was walking up the street towards us - James was sitting in the stroller - James sees Chris ' "Daddy??" James scrambles out of the stroller and hightails it towards Chris yelling "Daddy!! HI Daddy!" Oh gosh. My heart melted. We all drove home together - both boys fell asleep again and that was that. They were amazing while out and about. Better than I expected!

I should mention - James is STILL talking about his ice cream... silly kid.

I love to cook for my family, but come Friday night, Chris knows that we are either going to WhiteSpot for dinner, or we are ordering in pizza!!

We all love pizza in our house. Cheese, pepperoni and even chicken and artichoke. We have done homemade, pre made and we order from our favorite place too.

So when I was given the opportunity to try a new Gluten Free pizza from Sabatasso's I jumped on board!

Ok, I will admit, I was waiting patiently for a coupon to arrive in my mail to go and purchase a pizza. So when I received a call from VersaCold asking me to come by and pick up my package, saying I was surprised would have been an understatement.

Chris and I went to pick up what I thought was a single box of pizza. My goodness - I was so wrong! Chris walked out with a case of it! They generously sent me enough pizza to last almost 2.5 months worth of Friday Family Pizza nights.

That night we chowed down on our first ever Gluten Free Sabatasso's Cheese Pizza.

Now, we are not a Gluten Free family, but I thought it would be neat to maybe incorporate some Gluten Free foods into our lives. Starting with Sabatasso's Cheese Pizza.

What Chris and I were worried about was that it may have a different taste. It's not made with traditional flour etc. I think I was more worried about James not liking it and then being turned off of pizza. While it was cooking in the oven, it did smell different than other pizza we have tried, but I think it has to do with the blend of cheese used.

Mozzarella, Parmesan, Fontina and Asiago make up the cheese blend. It's an amazing blend of cheeses if I do say so myself.

I cooked the pizza as per the directions on the box and it came out SUPER crispy and made my house smell awesome.

The crust is a thin crust, which is something we usually don't order. I prefer thin crust but James and Chris like the traditional crust, so we do traditional all the time. Graham is impartial to crust at his age. I mean the kid eats anything put in front of him.

We all sat down, and all took big bites!

I was absolutely blown away at how good it was. SERIOUSLY! It didn't taste any different than the pizza we had the week before. The crust was crispy, light tastey. The sauce was flavorful and the toppings were hot and bubbly.

James looked at us and said "Mummy! It's delicious!" So this pizza is kid approved!

I asked Chris his thoughts and he agreed with me. He enjoyed it as much as we all did. This is coming from someone who loves Pizza Hut pizza and will order it any chance he can get!

We both agreed we loved the thin crust. It came out crispy and crunchy. Loads of flavor in the sauce and the cheese blend is perfect. There isn't too much cheese on it. Just enough to tickle the taste buds.

Graham even had some - and from the look on his face every time I would give him some bites - I think he really liked it too.

Overall, we are so excited to have found a new pizza to enjoy on our family pizza night! We all enjoyed Sabatasso's Gluten Free pizza - a lot. I think this will be an item that we will keep in our deep freeze. Even if it's not Friday!!

If you are in Canada, you are in luck!

Sabatasso's Gluten Free pizza is available at your local Costco store. If you shop there, I highly recommend giving this pizza a shot. From the thin crust to the awesome blend of cheeses to the Gluten Free factor - it's just so good. I don't really know how else to say it "GO BUY IT!"

So tell me... what does your family do for 'Family Pizza Night?' Do you do pizza? something else?? I want to know.

Vancouver has been HOT! I hate complaining about the weather. I love Summer - I am a Summer baby, and love the sun. But I really despise heat.

For example; our house did not cool down over night. My Aden & Anais Serenity star was red all night - never once turning back to white. We had three fans going. One is Jimbo's room, one is our room and one in the living room. All the windows were open and it was still warm and muggy.

I closed up shop early this morning. I was trying to keep what little cool air I had in the home in the house. By 11:00 is was down right nasty in the house. I actually went out and bought new fans!

I wanted to go out today and get the boys a small kiddie pool, as well as some water toys. I thought that would be simple right?? While I was at it, I would also pick up some fans for the house. We are borrowing a couple from Chris' parents. I called my sister and asked if she wanted to go with me (well that and I needed a ride) Of course she agreed and headed on over.

James got spoiled with doughnuts first thing in the morning, and was ecstatic to see his Aunt and Uncle. My sister and I headed out to our local WalMart.

First off we hit up the Dollar Tree and found some awesome water pistol toys for James. My Mom had bought some for him at her house and they were a big hit so I picked up two. One for James and one for my other big boy...Chris.

As you can see, both of them had fun playing with these. Even I did.

So after the Dollar Tree stop we headed into Wal-Mart. I knew where they kept the pools. So when I walked in and saw empty shelves, my heart sank. We walked around a bit to see if maybe there were some hiding, but in the end they had NOTHING! All sold out. BUMMER!

I suggested we check out Target. Knowing damn well that they were probably sold out as well, but I knew I could get my fans there. Plus, I like Target. So off we went.

I found my fans and picked up two. There were only four left so I thought I may as well get a couple. (PS we now have 5 fans running!) We then went and checked out the pool section. NOTHING! There was NOTHING!!

I was so upset. They had a slip and slide thing, but that wasn't what I wanted. I decided to just get the fans, call it quits and go home.

I am SO thankful for my sister. As we were paying, she asked the cashier if she knew where we could find a kiddie pool. "Oh PetSmart has some for dogs. They are $9.99" We both looked at each other and thought the same thing. "Good enough! Thank you" I paid up and as I was waiting for my transaction to go through the cashier said that there was a pool at customer service. But she wasn't sure if it was a defective return or if it was being held. We had to wait a bit to find out.

I said to my sister I wanted to go - but we waited it out and guess what!?

WE FOUND ONE!

Here it is - the LAST inflatable pool at Target!!

I was ecstatic to find it! I quickly said I would take it - bought it and headed home. Fans and pool in tow.

James was stoked for pool time - My sister blew that bad boy up and we got everything ready. Sadly the boys had to wait till later. It was lunch time and then nap time.

We decided to do a family BBQ tonight. We had burgs, dogs, corn on the cob and a wide selection of salads. James got to use his pool and his water pistols. Graham got to crawl around for a bit and then needed to go into his playpen. He kept eating the grass and dirt.

James chowed down THREE - yes three Hot dogs and Graham devoured his chicken and avocado. So I decided to let him try corn on the cob. He loved it. I mean really LOVED it. I served berry shortcake for dessert and then headed off to get Graham to bed, Little man had a big day and was very tired. James was reluctant to go to bed - but is now soundly sleeping.

Today was a great day. There is something about sunshine - it makes everyone happy! I hope tomorrow we can go and splash in the pool again. Maybe we can go to the beach too!!

Happy Tuesday!

Much Love
Usually we spend the weekend up in Osoyoos at the trailer, but instead we spent it at my parents... the WHOLE famjam was there.

My sister and her boyfriend we coming to BC for the week so we decided to do a family get together at my mums place for the weekend.

Chris took the Friday off of work and we decided to leave Thursday after work - BAD IDEA! Graham hates travelling - James is amazing - and Graham just screams at everyone... I don't know what we were thinking, leaving in the afternoon like that. #parentingfail

Anyways, a 3 hour trip turned into almost 4.5 hours - we didn't get to my parents until 10:00 Thursday night and I was ready to pull all of my hairs out. THANKFULLY, both the boys slept really well and woke up refreshed and happy!!

There were a lot of firsts this weekend.

Excuse the 'TMI' moment - but James is finally peeing standing up! He was so afraid of doing it and we couldn't figure out why. then we got to my Mums and BAM! "MUM! I did it! I stood up!!"

Jimmy also had his first real water fight with his Uncle Ryan and Aunties. He had such a blast. My Mum had gone out and picked up some new toys for him and I think the big kids had more fun with them.

Along with turning eight months old on the weekend - Graham also had his first taste of Spaghetti sauce. I was hesitant to give it to him for whatever reason, but he chowed down and loved it! My little man can eat!

It was quite warm at my parents - so we spent most of the days outside in the back yard. It was so nice to be able to sit and relax outside with the boys. I caught some great shots of nature and some awesome shots of the boys and daddy! The only downside was the swarms of mosquitoes... they don't like me or the boys, but everyone else got bitten.

My Grandparents came to visit on Sunday which was great! We did a turkey dinner - crazy I know, but it was SO good. Graham loved turkey and cabbage rolls.

We all had a wonderful weekend. Full of laughter and fun. So corny, but we did. The car ride home was a breeze. So note to self for the next time we travel... LEAVE IN THE MORNING!! Graham will be happier with that - and so will we.

I've been looking forward to writing this update, and dreading it all at the same time. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that my second born is

Eight Months Old.

Where's the pause button on life??

So here we are - eight months old - my gosh.

Height: 29.5 inches tall

Weight: Approx. 22 lbs

Clothing:

I don't think Graham has grown much since last month. Still wearing 12 - 18 month clothing. There are some onesies that are 24 months (we wear these when we have a big fluffy butt!) but other than that clothing is about the same. We did have to get new socks though. All his Robeez socks are too small/tight so I bought some new ones that are 24 month size. The boy has some big feet!

Breastfeeding/Solids:

Graham has been doing wonderful with solid food. We did have about a week with no... err.. poops and he was quite upset, but after a lot of tummy massage and a warm bath he went. Chris and I felt so bad for him, but now he is back to being regular and a happy, content little guy.

We have now introduced meat into his diet and he LOVES it. So far he has had chicken breast, pork tenderloin and beef. I was a little nervous about feeding it to him, but he chowed down like a pro.

We are still doing three small meals a day.

Morning: Cheerios and fruit. Or toast - again it depends what I have handy.

Lunch: Fruit or veggie (depends what I have on hand)

Dinner: Meat and veggie.

We are still doing Baby led Solids which is working great for him. He doesn't like being spoon fed and he has an amazing pincher grasp. Finds the food and shoves it into his mouth.

New Food List:

Blueberries
Squash
Meat: beef, chicken and pork.
Yogurt (Greek)
Cauliflower
Broccoli
Pasta
Spaghetti

Graham still loves to nurse. I don't think we've cut down at all. Actually we haven't. He still nurses like he did before the introduction of solid food. I have a feeling weaning him is going to be difficult. Don't get me wrong - I will not force him to wean. James self weaned at 15.5 months - so if Graham wants to go longer, then that is fine. We are still nursing at least 8-10 times throughout the day. This includes nighttime feedings as well. Boy loves his boobie milk.

Sleeping:

Same as last month. There have been a few nights that Graham has only woken up once to feed, but those nights are few and far between. I have been nursing him till he is drowsy and then Chris takes over and put him into his playpen. Most nights he goes down without a fight, but sometimes he fights it and screams bloody murder for me. He has NO self soothing capabilities, which drives me nuts some nights. One night it took me till 2:30 am to get him to sleep. He would NOT settle. I rocked him to sleep three times and he would go about 19 minutes before he would wake and scream - and I mean SCREAM! Blood curdling screams. I was so upset, crying and downright exhausted.

He will go for about 4 - 5 hours on his own in his playpen (there was one night we got him into his crib for about 4 hours but that was it) then he wakes and looks for me - so into bed he comes. He will comfort nurse for about 15 minutes and fall asleep. Then usually around 2:00 am he is up again and this time he nurses - as in "I am hungry, so feed me" Then he's down till about 5:30 and usually that's another full nurse, and he drifts back off till James comes into bed - around 6:30. Then we are up. BAH! Early mornings - not my thing.

The boys will be sharing a room once we move into our new home. We will be trying to put Graham to sleep first in his crib and then get James down. I don't know how well this is going to work, but we will attempt to do this. Wish us luck!

Milestones:

No more army crawling! He is now crawling on his knees and hands and it's so freaking cute! He loves to chase after James and James loves running from him. "You can never catch me now baby Draham!"

Graham and James are starting to 'play' together more. James is showing him the ropes, and also stealing toys from him! Boys will be boys I guess. We brought out James' old Fisher Price play table and Graham just LOVES it!
We have also had a few times where Graham is standing completely on his own. Not holding on to anything, but it only lasts about 3-5 seconds.

Cruising time! Graham loves to stand and to hold onto things - he has started to cruise the furniture and his other standing toys. We have a walker toy, but he hasn't quite masters that yet! Soon though - very soon!

Another thing we noticed with Graham is how much he babbles. James babbled, but not like this. Graham now babbles "Mama, Dada, & Baba" I love cute baby babbles - it just puts a smile on my face!

I'm feeling like this early time with Graham is going by way too fast - I want to keep him little forever - but I know I cannot. I am so excited to see how he develops in the next month.

Graham, you bring such joy to my life - as well as your brother's and Daddy. You make our family complete and it's been so amazing to watch you grow. Happy Eight Months little guy!

Much love
xoxo
He doesn't really understand that he won't be going throughout the Summer, but that's ok. He starts again in September and will be going three days a week rather than just two!

I wanted to share this - He asked if we could 'video' him singing his favorite song ' Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'

I think it's super cute (but I am totally bias)

I will also be doing an update on James in the next few days regarding his speech (and letter pronunciation), potty learning and how he feels about being a big brother! I cannot believe that he is almost 3.5 years old.

Times really does fly when you are having fun!

Much love
Today... today I yelled at James, and scared him. I failed.

We've been trying to understand where he is coming from - trying not to say 'No' and to talk about how he is feeling at a particular time. But nothing is working. He still is defiant - stomps around and talks back. When asked to do simple tasks, we get sassed.

Yes, I know he is 3.5 years old - but at 3.5 years old I do expect some respect and to listen.

I got frustrated with James - I yelled (loudly I might add) and his crying became uncontrollable. He was sobbing - and said to me I sacred him.

I don't want to be that Mum. A Mum whose child is afraid of her. I broke down and cried with him - apologizing over and over again. Only to hear "I'm sorry Mummy. Don't cry... I love you" That just tugged on the heart strings even more.

After he settled down and we both stopped crying, I tried to explain why I yelled and told him Mummy shouldn't have yelled and that she was very sorry - and that Jimmy needs to use his ears to listen to what Mummy and Daddy ask. I don't know if it got through to him - but after that.... god I feel like a terrible person.

I failed tonight as a Mum.

Tomorrow is a new day - I have learned from my mistake tonight and am looking forward to a new day.

Live and learn.

Much love
xoxo
